Rivalry

[Jade]

" you dont have to say anything at all..." he smiled at her taking a single step back "I know Sephiros trained you how to use Katana instead of a broad sword but... im sure you will figure out how to use it in time... I had to train myself when I was your age."

[Reno]

Ami grinned at him, holding the sword straight up. It was heavy, definitely, but she knew she could get used to the weight. It shook somewhat, but otherwise she could hold it pretty steady. She blinked curiously, looking at her father and lowering the sword slowly. she knew her father was a great fighter, espescally with this sword... and he learned his self? "You never had a teacher?" She inquired curiously.

[Jade]

" No... the closest thing I ever had to a teacher was Sephiroth and I already knew how to fight with the sword by the time he trained me." he blinked staring down at her " the blade will teach you on its own... it sounds weird but..."

Tifa blinked " um... dear the sword is really old... try to think of it as a weapon that has the memories of everyone that has ever used it." She said trying to remember how Josh explained it to her a long time ago.

[Reno]

Ami looked at her mother then her father and nodded. she looked at the blade finally, a smile on her face. "Yes. i shall take good care of it. i promise."

[Jade]

Tifa smiled slightly staring over at Josh, she never thought that he would ever give up the sword... after all that time with Tenks and Casey fighting over it. She could just imagine seeing those two right now... Slowly she shook her head laughing slightly. " yea well weve been standing here forever why dont we sit down?" she asked motioning the two of them towards the living room couches.

Josh blinked following after his wife and sat down " Im really happy you stopped by Ami..." he smiled staring at his youngest daughter. " Just remember to trust it... its not like it talks to you or anything... its just a feeling that you get... youll understand it someday... when the time comes..."

[Reno]

Ami smiled and nodded, taking a seat as well, unweilling to but the metal blade down. "I understand." No, she really didn;t but she could feel... as if the sword had a mind of its own, she could hear... maybe she did...

I may be confused but... i'll get it soon enough.

[Jade]

" Just... always use it right..." he knew the blade had a mind of its own... more souls where in it than one... both dark and light... he just hoped that his daughter would chose the ones from the light just like he had. But then again she was his daughter... and he was proud of her. He knew that she would be able to use the blade just as he did...

" whats that suppost to mean?" Tifa stared at him oddly " Its just a sword im sure Ami can handle it just fine, right dear?"

[Reno]

"Yes... of course."

Sephiros watch his youngest daughter silently. She had that sword for months and even though he disliked Josh (a lot) he was still.... glad that he had given Ami such a gift. Even though, once the other children found out they were insanly jealous...

He knew Josh did it mostly to spite him... but... it was more then that. Something he would never know or understand. Sephiros smiled. and to think... you almost were not born...

She'd finally gotten used to the weight. When she had first started training she tripped more often then not and in the air she was horribly overbalanced. (still was in fact but she was getting better!). Ami sighed, holding the sword out in front of her. It guided her... often. Through her movements she learned more and more, like she was reading a book by a photographic memory.

[Jade]

From not too far away Shouka had a close eye on her younger sister watching her with the sword. She couldnt believe that her father had given the sword to Ami... after all that time that Tenks and Casey had fought over it. She even had thought about asking her father about having it one day... But that chance was now gone. But it didnt matter as long as Ami was happy that was what really mattered. Slowly she glanced over at her father(sephiros) " Daddy what do you think about her and that sword?"

[Reno]

Sephiros just shook his head and smiled. "I... really don;t know." He looked at his eldest and shrugged simply. "but... she was overjoyed when she came home with it, even though it scared me to death. I never thought he;d give it up..." He glanced at Ami. "And to her..."

[Jade]

Shouka nodded slightly as she started walking in her sisters direction " im going to talk to her..." She came up to her sister as she stared at her waving the sword around " Hey your getting pretty good with that thing!" Shouka shouted fro not too far way.

[Reno]

Ami looked at her sister, a hidden emotion flashing in her eyes and she smirked, almost cruelly. "Better then you would of ever been."

[Jade]

" Whats that suppost to mean?" Shouka asked staring at her with a frown on her face " You know just because dad gave you the sword doesnt mean you have to be a brat about it. We both know who the better fighter is anyways Ami."

[Reno]

Ami's eyes narrowed. What'd she say!? Growling in fury she pointed at her older sister. "Get your ass up here and fight me then! Well see who's better now!"

Sephiros rasied an eyebrow at his daughter's choice of words but said nothing. She was an adult, she could say whatever she wished.

[Jade]

" You have got to be kidding me..." Shouka shook her head staring down at the ground then suddenly drew her sword flying up towards her sister " If you really want to lose that badly again, we both know youve never beaten me."
