Rivalry

[Reno]

Rival- an unbeatable foe, someone you could never take down or overcome.

Ami sighed, wrapping her leathery demon wings around her, staring into the fires of hell. How had she gotten here? well that was a tale only she could tell.

She supposed it all started... on that day.

Ami stared out the window to her father's house, a strange feeling of loniliness creeping in and other feeling, jealousy.

Now one would ask what would a beautiful girl, with a wonderful, caring attentive father and a hardworking, loving mother, with a great variety of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews have to be jealous of?

her. Ami glared out the window at her very own sister. Shouka. Her father and her older sister were outside. Her dad seemed to be instructing her through a rather complicated fighting technique, something she herself had yet to take part in.

Why you ask? because her father refused to train her until she was tweleve. The significance? It was the same age shouka started at. Her 12th birthday was in one week and three days. She couldn;t wait. She was going to top her sister, she promised herself that, then her father would see Sho as useless, disown her and just spend time with her!

meanwhile...

Sephiros watched his eldest daughter, pride sparkling in his eyes as she spun through the air, completeing the combo perfectly. it had taken her awhile to master but the results were worth it. "Wonderful Sho!" He prasied, clapping his hands together joyously.

[Jade]

Shouka laughed slightly glancing over towards her father "You really think so dad?" she breathed in shutting her eyes then opened them walking over towards him. " I mean I have been practicing that for a long time already..." She smiled then glanced over in her younger sisters direction and waved. " So your going start trianing her next week daddy?" she blinked staring up at him oddly. She always thought it was stupid that he wanted to wait on it, and Josh... he just refused to train anyone. Mainly she just thought that he was scared to do it.

[Reno]

Sephiros glanced in Ami's direction and nodded. "Yes." He glanced at Sho, seeing the conflicting questions already in her eyes. "You look at me like it's a bad thing. There's more to fighting then just a few little tricks. She has to learn to be patient or she'll walk into something too hastefully one day and then-" Sephiroth waved his hands. "I don;t even want to think about it."

[Jade]

" yea Like what? I mean gosh dad I know five year olds that there parents are putting them through martial arts programs" she walked up to him nudging his side " or maybe your just scared of having one of your little girls grow up again?" she said in a sarcastic tone of voice.

[Reno]

maybe... Sephiros flushed slightly, wrapping his arms around his daughter. "Hey don;t disregard my methods. You can;t rush these things."

[Jade]

" Well dad its only making her mad, making her wait like this. The only reason you taught me at twelve is because we didnt even meet until I was twelve.... that and daddy Josh wouldnt teach me anything..." she laughed slightly shutting her eyes leaning into her father.

[Reno]

"I know Sho. I can see how furious she gets about it, but personally, i had been trained since i was very young. i may not of grown up in the normal world, seperated as i was but i know once you take down the path of fighting you can;t turn back. She's going to grow up quick and lose her youth twice as fast." Sephiros sighed. "she;s not even a teenager yet."

[Jade]

" So your basicaly saying you dont want her to grow up like Josh?" she blinked staring at him curiously, it was amazing how alike both her fathers where... it really surprised her sometimes how much they hated one another...

[Reno]

Sephiros looked around. "Heh..." She let her go straightening. "Yes." He shrugged lightly, looking at the sky. "I suppose i canlt hide that from you."

[Jade]

"Well considering how you described it thats kinda what my guess was..." she frowned glancing over in her sisters direction " Trust me dad... shes a good kid i really doubt she will end up anything like him. She likes you more anyways."

[Reno]

Sephiros tugged on a strand of his own hair and sighed. "Maybe. but life is unpredictable, i personally don't know what she'll end up doing. Anyone can do anything they just have to have the right... means, purposes.... reasons."

[Jade]

" Daddy.... Josh grew up with no parents or any family, Ami has the exact opposite, trust me shes going to be fine." she walked up placing her hand on his shoulder " you worry way too much, do you know that?"

[Reno]

Sephiros shrugged and looked away. "Yeah well... i'm a dad i have an excuse to worry."

[Jade]

" Right... well ill let you worry one more week then" she smiled then turned walking away in the direction of her younger sister.

[Reno]

Sephiros sighed shaking his head. Sometimes he wondered if Shouka truely understood anything he tried to tell her... or if it was he who didn;t understand. secert of the world right there.

Ami watched her sister with an equivalence of a glare on her young face. what does she want?
