The Tale of Seven

[Rikugurl]

The horse swung her head down to... nothing. Full of rage the horn stopped glowing, the unicorn snorting as she looked down to see the pokemon hiding below, the fire off her legs burning him.

No one was ready for what happened next though.
Green eyes widened as Axel understood.
"RAPIDAAA-----"
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!" The horse cried in pain as the energy shot right into her stomach, blowing her from her feet.
She flailed in the air, her back hooves kicking and one was able to smash hard into the Leafeon before she fell onto the ground. Her legs dug into the sand as the large horse toppled over.

"RAPIDASH!" The redhead cried again, seeing his unicorn lay down on her side, the cut in her leg open once more and bleeding.
He grabbed his pokeball...and called her back.

"Ninetails..." The fox nuzzled the ball and looked up at Axel who sighed. This wasn't good... Rapidash had the speed that Terra's pokemon didn't... and now she was out of the game...

[Reno]

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" Leafeon gave a wild cry as the hoove smashed into his body and he went sailing into the air, crashing down hard. The little fox didn't get up, swirls in his eyes.

Terra grimaced at the horrible scene hearing his fox screech as he was hit. He supposed it was better than Rapidash landing on top of him... and crushing him. He frowned worried for his fox before he returned him to his Pokeball, looking down at it. It felt warm in his palm. Leafeon was okay for the most part but he would need some time at the center to really heal after those burns.
"And that's it for Leafeon and Rapidash both! Both trainers are down to four Pokemon!"

"Jool!" Cried Jolteon in worry.
Sora hissed at the painful looking attacks both Pokemon endured and winced more when they both hit the ground and were soon recalled by both trainers.
"Wow..." Roxas murmured softly. "I didn't think Terra would be able to get past Rapidash's speed."
His brother frowned then and nodded but sighed. Things might of been different if Axel kept her at a distance... "Terra's Pokemon really know how to endure attacks."

Terra frowned some and sighed knowing they had to pick again, once again even. With Leafeon gone...those fire attacks were really going to become a problem.

Now that seemed strange, having a grass type as his frontal assault against fire, but he usually relied on Leafeon's swords dance to blow away the flames and attack through surprise on that instant solar beam. He hadn't been prepared for that speedy horse... at least not so soon. Axel... like Marluxia had figured, like Sora would have taken advantage of, had discovered his weak point was in speed.

He looked across at Axel who was also struggling with his next pick. He mentally counted what Axel had left - some mystery Pokemon he was sure was a fire-type, Camerupt, Ninetails... and Vaporeon.
And he had Flygon, Rampardos, Torterra and Houndoom.

"Mmm.... Alright." Terra murmured. "I'm screwed no matter who I pick..."
Hopefully he didn't choose completely wrong.
"Go Rampardos!!!"

"Raaaaa!" The rock Pokemon cried as he appeared stomping his feet on the ground, making it shake.
"And Terra's chosen Rampardos, an effective choice against Axel's fire force! This head butt Pokemon is known for it's powerful skull and it's violent nature! Watch out for when this dinosaur charges because it can take down anything!"

Terra sighed and crossed his arms, looking towards Axel, just daring him to pull out Vaporeon. This time he was just making a front, trying to scare the other from making the obvious choice. If Axel did choose the water Pokemon... he'd have to hope pure pwoer was going to be enough.

The redhead frowned as he looked over the way, seeing Terra concentrate on what Pokemon to throw out next.
He too... wasn't so sure...
He could hear Sora's words in his head. As long as he picked right, he could do it.

"Who---"
"Raaaaa!"

His green eyes lit up as he looked out, seeing the dinosaur in the arena.
Well... that was an easy guess.
His hand reached to Vaporeon's ball but stopped.
"Nine?"
Axel's hand hesitated, his fingertips brushing the outside of the poke ball.

"He still has Houndoom..."
Slowly his fingers moved to another, the one Camerupt was in. Even if he was a fire pokemon, he had some moves that would be useful.
He was going to pull it from his belt when he hesitated again.
He could hear the sound of the crowd chattering, wondering why he was taking so long.
"Tails...."

Green eyes blinked, remembering what the announcer had said.
"Watch out for when this dinosaur charges because it can take down anything!"
Camerupt wasn't very fast...
"Alright." He reached for Vaporeon's ball and pulled it from his belt, throwing it out.
"Vaporeon! GO!"

A flash of light and the bubble jet pokemon appeared.
"Vaporeon!"
The crowd was a bit shocked seeing a water type being used by a fire trainer.

[Reno]

"Damn!" Terra hissed under his breath as the water fox came out. He had to work on his bluffs!

"And a huge surprise! Axel's next choice is Vaporeon, a secret weapon he hid this whole time! This water fox is known best for its ability to not only run atop water but turn invisible in it! Though there isn't any ponds around here for Vaporeon to hide in, he'll still be a tough match for the rock-type Rampardos!"

Jolteon whimpered. From one brother to another! Why did he have to do all the worrying here?!
"Don't worry Jolt, Rampardos is a rock type so Vaporeon has an awesome advantage!" Sora said with a smile. He was glad Axel had chosen him... he needed to take every advantage he could here if he wanted to get to the next round.
But Terra... had been known in his battles to take on any challenge, even when he had a severe type advantage, so this battle still wouldn't be easy. He glanced at the brunette, noticing his stance. It had changed only slightly but it no longer seemed to be a tough front... but a nervous tension.

"Raaa..." Rampardos growled looking down at the little fox and sweatdropped. What was with all these incredibly small opponents that he could eat for brunch?! "Pardos!"
Terra eyes narrowed, drumming his fingers along his elbow. "Hmmm..." Unlike Leafeon, or any of his other Pokemon really, he wasn't as confidant in Rampardos' ability to stand up to a disadvantage. That Roserade yesterday had given him plenty of trouble with that damn speed and drain attack... and this time ice would give them no advantage.
But if they could just get close... one good smash was all it would take.

"Alright I guess I'll start!" Terra said, uncrossing his arms. "Rampardos, use Stone Edge!"
"RAAAA!" Roared the dinosaur as blue rings surrounded him until they broke apart into stones and were flung towards Vaporeon.

Axel kind of smiled as he saw the look on Terra's face. He was...worried? The redhead shook his head however, he couldn't lose his cool either.

Up above, the blonde girl smiled as she saw Rampardos. "GO TERRA!" She cried, her Spinda looking around. "Spinda!" He called after, waving his little arms.

When the attack was called, Axel wasted no time.
"Vaporeon! Dodge those rocks and use Rain Dance!"
"VAAAAAA!" The proud water type watched as the rocks came flying... and in a mocking flare, dodged them while dancing.
"Va! Pore! On!" He called as he twisted through the rocks, some cuts getting him here and there but the sky started to turn dark around them and rain suddenly started to fall.

The small cuts were heal instantly.
Axel noticed the dinosaur's attention was taken by the sudden rain and used it as his advantage. "Vaporeon! Water Pulse now!"
"VAAAAAAAAA!"
He called as he hunched down and opened his mouth, circular water blast heading toward the rock type like a sonar.

[Reno]

Terra blinked hearing... a familiar voice int he crowd? He grinned faintly. Venita~

"And that stone edge misses it's mark as Vaporeon dances across the stadium and comes back with a rain dance! The ground is looking rather wet out there!"
Rampardos snarled as he watched Vaporeon dance over his attack like it was nothing as if he was taunting him. "RAAA!!!" He snarled, stamping his feet restlessly the ground shaking.

"How!" Houndoom barked angrily while his trainer beside him struggled to stay upright. "Rampardos cool it!" Terra snapped.

Just as he said that... the rain started.
"Dos...?" The dinosaur said, looking up in confusion. But it had been so clear just a moment ago... He snarled unhappily, feeling it weaken at his muscles.
Houndoom hurried rushed from the arena area, taking cover under the nearest arch of wall. He didn't need to get weakened as well before his own match!

Terra grunted unhappily as water bouncing from the Pokemon's hard stone body and hit him, making his hair damp. At Axel's next call however his eyes narrowed. "Rampardos snap out of it! Get outta the way!"
Rampardos blinked and lowered his head, tail drooping some as he noticed the water stream. "Ra?" The water hit him. "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" The dinosaur cried.
Terra placed a hand on his forehead and sighed as if exasperated. "Rampardos..."

"And that water pulse scores a direct hit, doing some critical damage!"
The large dinosaur growled as he slid back, shaking his head. His red eyes snapped open, zeroing in on Vaporeon. He snarled and ran towards the fox, his steps making the whole place shake.
"Head smash!"
Rampardos lowered his head, glowing blue.

Venita winced as saw the dino get hit straight on. Well... that must of hurt. She glanced over at the twins, both of them looking absorbed into the fight. Hopefully they would stay that way... so when she needed to leave, she could just slip away without being detected.

The sound of something roaring down below made her look back... but it wasn't the rock pokemon that was doing it.

Axel grit his teeth as he saw the Rampardos stomp towards Vaporeon.
"Vaporeon, back away and use Rain Dance again!"
The water pokemon started to back away quickly, twirling around as his wide eyes watched the other come closer and closer and---

A downpour started.
Some of the crowd close to the arena cried as they started to get wet. Like Houndoom, Ninetails quickly found shelter as the rain area expanded, leaving Axel in it and getting drenched.
But his plan worked.
The rain was falling so hard now that Vaporeon... disappeared.

[Reno]

Rampardos charge stopped the minute the downpour began - not because it distracted him this time but because his target was gone. He snarled in pain as the rain ran across his body, lowering his defenses.

"Shit!" Terra hissed furiously as they rain came down harder, his eyes darting left and right frantically. But Vaporeon was gone...

He knew what Axel had done. He didn't need to announcer to elaborate, even though he annoying was. Stupid play-by-play shit was nerve-wracking. When he had first obtained his Eevee he had become obsessed with research about them. Of all seven known forms. Something about one Pokemon being able to become many was... amazing to him.

Vaporeon was annoying with it's stupid disappearing act with water... and had been known to go missing in rain storms even. And Vaporeon could now get close to his Pokemon... and Rampardos would be able to do nothing. Fine then.

"Rampardos, use Stone Edge in every direction!" Terra ordered.
The dino roared once more rings appearing once again before blasting out to every side of the ring. Axel and Terra both had to duck as some were flung right at them.
Terra listened and looked but no sound of pain came and no little blue fox was thrown out of the water. Shit... he must of dodged it.

What the hell was he going to do. If this rain kept up Rampardos would lose fast and with this cover even if he choose another Pokemon they'd be at a sight disadvantage. If only it was colder...
Terra's blue eyes went wide. "Rampardos aim blizzard right up at the clouds!!"
Rampardos pulled his head back and opened his mouth. "RAAAAA!" An icy wind flung up, completely with ice shards. It crashed into the black clouds and their was a pulsation of blue that rippled across them. The rain stopped...

And then snow fell.
"It's snowing!!!" Sora cried giddily, eyes lighting up happily. "We need to invite Terra and Axel over for Christmas!!!"
Roxas roleld his eyes at his brother's predictable response.
"Amazing! Rampardos stopped the rain dance... with a blizzard attack! And now a snow storm has begun! This is quite a turn of events."

Venita watched intensely as the rain started to pour, seeing Vaporeon suddenly disappear.
He grit his teeth, frowning as he looked at the drenched redhead. Of course Axel had to give a good fight! He was wasting fucking time! They needed to get out of here!

Her eyes widened as he saw the dino swallow a large amount of water as it blasted... blizzard up into the clouds.
"I didn't know he could learn Blizzards..." She whispered under her voice.
"Spiiiiiiii..."

Down below the redhead was soaked from head to toe. His red hair was now long and straight, plastered to his face. However, went it stop snowing, he quickly dried his glassed and placed them back on his nose.

To everyone's surprise, except Axel's, the Vaporeon was still... gone.

The arena was silent, Axel's breathing became unsteady as his green eyes looked around.
He knew exactly where Vaporeon was.
He smiled softly before he called his next move.
"Vaporeon! SURF NOW!"
The crowd called in confusion but suddenly, the spot that Typhlosion had in caved the arena, the spot where Leafeon had hid, Vaporeon was in the pool that collected there... and now the water was rising against gravity before...

a water pokemon sat on top of it happily.
"VAPOREON!" He cried as the water was sent out like a wave towards the Rampardos.

[Reno]

"But where did Vaporeon go?! Is this another trick?"
Terra's eyes narrowed when the blue fox didn't appeared and he looked around slowly as big fat flakes landed in his hair and started to color it white. It couldn't disappear in snow... so wh-

His eyes widened at the attack call just as he realized where the fuck Vaporeon had gone.

Shit. Leafeon had shown his damn brother bastard a good trick.

He watched the wave rise, feeling a little spark of terror run through him at the size of the tidal wave. God it was like a fucking nightmare from his days on the beach when his dad was trying to teach him how to swim.

This was of course his father's plan: rent a boat, drive a few miles from inland, and send his only son reeling from the side railing he was at one point leaning over innocently gazing at fish at. Mom had given him a hell of lecture when she found out. That was why he fucking hated water.

He never learned how to swim either - that was a good portion of it.

Houndoom watched the wave and went running, to the other side of the stadium being sure to stay close to the edges so as not to get hit by the water.

"Raaa..." Rampardos looked at the wave in horror. He could attempt to freeze it but... there was so much water...
"Focus blast, right at the middle of that wave!!" Terra yelled. He had to take the chance.
The dinosaur nodded and opened his mouth, a powerful ball of energy quickly forming and being shot into the wave and at it's headstone- Vaporeon. They lost sight of him and the water parted in half like one parted hair, hit the ground and circled around both trainer and dinosaur, enveloping them both. "Char-" Terra gave another order but it was swallowed by the noise of the wave crashing.

Sora gasped in horror, remembering the very first day they had met. How much Terra had said he hated water...
Jolteon whined in worry in his arms even Roxas looked concerned.

"And that surf crashed hard taking Rampardos and Terra with it!"

The water was quickly swallowed down the gutters at the edges of the arena designed for these heavy water attacks. The water drained quickly, and Rampardos was revealed first, on one knee, spikes dug into the hard earth to prevent him from being swept away. His dizzy trainer was not so lucky having been taken several feet back by the wave laying on the ground. There were a few sharp seconds of a wait, everyone wondering if maybe the trainer was unconscious when he slowly sat up, spitting out water.

He stood, shoes squishing on the ground. He stopped back into his ring, wringing out his shirt. Finally he turned murderous blue eyes towards Axel and hissed, "You... are fucking dead."

[Rikugurl]

Venita's eyes widened as she saw the tidal wave heading right for... Terra!
"TERRA!!" She called but it was too late. The water hit and swallowed Terra up.
Her heart suddenly started pounding, forgetting that this feeling would be linked with her twins...

But when the brunette was revealed, she sighed in relief.
Why was she...
And....
Blue eyes looked down, hearing more calls shouted but... didn't care.
Can I....really do this...?


Axel watched, he too becoming a bit nervous. He didn't want Terra to choke or get hurt. Vaporeon needed some more training in direction.
However, Terra seemed fine... and Rampardos... was still in the game.

The water fox had slid off the water as if it was nothing when it crashed, sitting down and watching it's effects.
"Vaporeon!"
The water pokemon shot up and barked.
"Use Water Pulse while he's still down!"
"VAAAAAAA!" The Vaporeon opened his mouth and once again water rings shot out towards the dino on his knees.

[Reno]

Sora sighed in relief when he saw the brunette, shaking some. His heart was still racing though he felt calmer now. Why...?
He frowned placing his hand over his beating chest. Ven...?

Roxas shivered some, feeling the reaction that wasn't his as well, clenching his fists nervously... but it calmed after awhile. What had been wrong with Ven?


Terra snarled angrily at the attack. He was so furious he was shaking - that or cold. "Rampardos... go right through it. NOW."
The dinosaur blinked at the ferocious order but nodded, understanding his master's anger. They had always gotten along so well thanks to their loathing of water, even if he was admittedly slow.

He lowered his head the water pulse smacking onto the dome and spraying all around. The Pachycephalosaurus grit his teeth from the pain but he moved his knee, dislodging it from the ground... and suddenly started to charge forward straight into the water pulse.

"This is an amazing show of fighting spirit! Even after that wave knocked down both Pokemon and trainer they're both still up and fighting and now Rampardos is charging right through the water!!!"

Just as the Dino got close and Axel was beginning to tell the Vaporeon to do something else, Terra changed tactics. "JUMP and get him!" The rock Pokemon jumped over Vaporeon, landing behind him with a big slam of a noise and his tail swung right into him with bruising force.

The blue eyes slowly looked over, seeing bother Sora and Roxas react. She couldn't react too much... or their going to grow even more suspicious. That was the last thing they needed... to have their cover blown now.

She looked back at the fight, seeing the dino jump over the small fox.
"Hurry up..." She mumbled under her breath.

Axel's eyes widened as he saw the Pokemon go right THROUGH the attack.
This Rampardos must have a hell of a defense. All rock pokemon go down after Surf, hands down... and now he was hit with two water pulse head on...

While he was in thought, his mouth wasn't quick enough to--
"VAP---"
"VAAAAAAAAA!" The fox was hit hard, the tail throwing him across the arena and near the pool of water.
"Vaporeon!?" The redhead cried, his hair still drenched.
"Vapor....eon...." The fox slowly stood, seeing the dino not very far away.
"Get into that pool!"

The fox got up the best he could before scurrying into the pool, disappearing instantly.
"Use Surf one last time!"
Once again, the water, not as much as before rose over the dinosaur before collapsing in a wave.

[Reno]

Rampardos panted hard, eyes narrowed towards the little fox, watching her escape into the water. Even he wasn't dumb enough not to see what was coming... He wouldn't survive it again.

"Freeze it!" Terra attempted, even though he knew it was no use. He saw his dinosaur open his mouth, the icy wind escaping his mouth and hitting the wave and some of it began to freeze... but more water pulsed over the cracks and smacking into Rampardos. Even for a ice type Pokemon, a trick like that was difficult.

This time he was swept up and toppled to the ground. The water hit the ground them tided out, splashing up to Axel's ankles before receding for good.

The rock-type laid there, grunting as he tried to raise a tail... but it fell with a loud thump, and the other fell unconscious. Terra ground his teeth some, but sighed and recalled the other. He had lasted much longer than he thought he would of...
"You did great." He murmured to the Pokeball before returning it to his belt.

"And that takes out Terra's third Pokemon! Already his fans have been wrong but there is still a chance for him to win this battle!"
Terra frowned and looked up. The snow was still there but...
He shut his eyes before reaching for his third Pokeball. He threw it. "Go Torterra!"

"And another interesting choice! From one dinosaur to the next! Torterra, who had won Terra's battle upon the grass field, is his choice! But these combination grass and ground Pokemon... is weak to ice!"
"Torrr?" The overly large ankylosaurs questioned, looking up at the falling crystals and shifting his feet restlessly from the cold floor, making the ground rock and the water in the pool ripple.
"Terra two stop being a damn baby!" Terra growled.
The green and brown Pokemon looked back... then chuckled at the sight of his white-haired master.
"Shut up and concentrate!" The brunette growled.
"Tor~" He looked forward obediently.

The water pokemon panted as he landed on the ground after his attack, slowly sitting to catch his breath. Axel frowned, seeing that Vaporeon was already exhausted.
It was really... his fault.
He didn't pay as much attention to the water pokemon as he was training his fire.

"Hang in there, Vaporeon! You're doing great!"

The Vaporeon slowly looked back at his master and gave him a wide smiled. "Vaporeon!" He cried before his eyes widened when he felt the ground shake. That was....something big. Slowly he looked back, seeing a huge Pokemon before him. He couldn't help but tilt his head as the large thing tried to get away from the snow.

He stood once more, ready for the new battle. "Eon!"
"Alright Vaporeon! Let's try Ice Beam!"
"VAA!" He opened his mouth before a blue energy started to form. "POREON!" He cried as an electric looking ice attack shot out to Torterra.
