The Tale of Seven

[Reno]

Sora frowned, not exactly happy about incapacitating Glameow but it wasn't as if he had any control over the status effects other Pokemon took. He didn't like fighting this way - it felt like cheating - but Roxas wasn't giving him a choice. He just have to end this quickly!

Raichu's tail swung languidly behind him, watching the angry cat. He waited for his master's call.
"Alright Raichu use thunder!"
"Glameow you use thunder too!" Roxas called as well.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAI CHU!!!" Cried the mouse, anything strong bolt of electricity being sent to Glameow.
The cat grit her teeth, trying to respond.... But couldn't. The attack hit. "ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!" Cried the cat in pain. Roxas cried her name again, his eyes wide.
"Oh it seems Glameow wasn't able to attack back so now she's taking the full force of that thunder attack!"

Sora winced at the cat's cry. "Raichu follow the stream and use volt tackle one more time!"
The mouse grit his teeth as electricity flowed from his body to Glameow, but at his trainer's call and grinned and suddenly charged forward, sucking up the electricity he lost from thunder in the stream. "Rai, rai rai... chuuuu!" Cried the mouse easily finding the cat and crashing into her with the full forced tackle.
Glameow gave another cry as she was flung back, the electricity fizzling out around them.

"Glameow stop that tail!!" Roxas cried, knowing it would happen.
The cat's eyes snapped open and she twisted around as graceful and flexible as a cat should be. Her tail glowed white as Raichu's came down to deliver that second blow. Instead their tails clashed and Raichu's sharp lightning bolt edges got mixed with the spring and was caught.
"Fling him!"
Glameow touched the ground on her front paws and then jumped again and twisted his body sharply, swinging her tail out like a Ponyta kicking up it's back legs. The spring came undone and Raichu was free but instead he went flying. And smacked hard into a steel pole. She smirked some, turning to face him, then winced as the electricity sparked again freezing her.
"Raaaai!" Cried the mouse as he hit against the metal hard, slumping some from the daze.
"Unbelievable! even after taking that thunder and volt tackle Glameow is still fighting back and managed to throw Raichu right into one of the beams!"

"Raichu!!" Sora cried, trying to get the other's attention.
"Glameow hurry! Take him out! Use assist!"
The mouse's ears twitched and he opened his eyes. He slowly shook his head and struggled to get to his feet.
Glameow did nothing. Raichu got to his feet, shaking his head.
"Come on I know you can do it!"
Still nothing. "Iron tail Rai!"
"Glameow!!"
The cat suddenly opened her mouth... and out came a stream of fire!
"Raichu get outta there!" Sora called in panic.

The mouse didn't listen. Instead he charged forward quickly... right into the flames. The crowd gasped in surprise and horror.
"RAICHU!!!" Sora yelled as tears filled his eyes, terrified his mouse's pride had finally gone too far.
"JOLTEON!! EOOOOOON!" Cried his yellow fox, scared for her best friend.
Even Absol and Roxas couldn't believe what they were seeing as the mouse was swallowed whole by the licking tongues of the flamethrower. Roxas felt his stomach clench hard in grief. He didn't...

Then... out of the flames... came a glowing whiteness. It smacked into Glameow's head and sent her flying backward with a cry. The cat screeched before smacking into the ground, swirls in her eyes. And from the disappearing flames stood the orange mouse with burn marks all over, grinning from ear to ear in pride as his tail stopped glowing. He was still standing despite the heavy damage he had obviously took from the fire.
There was a long, shocked silence. Then cheers. Roxas seemed dumbfounded as he recalled his cat.

"And... and that's it for Glameow folks!" The announcer said. "This little mouse has got a lot of spunk, running straight into a fire like that but his iron tail did the job! Now Roxas only had one Pokemon left! Who will he choose?"
The blond frowned, reaching for his belt. Zangoose would jsut have to-
"Sol!"
Roxas paused, then looked at his walking partner. "...You want to go?"
"Ab, Absol!"
Roxas frowned a little, but then nodded. "Alright then."
The wolfen dog smirked and jumped over the bars and landed on the sandy path. looking down at Raichu.
"And Absol is Roxas' final choice! This disastrous Pokemon was last seen trapping a Sharpedo in the ice field! Now it's returned to face his trainer's own brother! Will he be able to get the upper-hand?"

The mouse growled and started to stand in an offensive position.
"Raichu come here." Sora called, his voice shaking.
"Rai, Raic-" The mouse started to disagree.
"NOW!" The brunette snapped furiously.

The mouse whined his ears falling at the surprisingly angry tone and turned around, running the distance back to his trainer slowly, showing how exhausted he really was. He squirmed between the bars and stood in front of his master, looking down shamefully. "Raaai...."
Sora looked down at him silently angry for a few moment then dropped to his knees and brought his longtime friend into a hug, sniffling even as he attempted to hold back tears of relief."Damn it Rai... you nearly gave my a heart attack. I'm glad you won but please don't scare me like that again... okay?"
Beside him Jolteon whimpered and nuzzled her head against the mouse. "Eon!"
The mouse's ears twitched and he smiled. "Rai, Raichu!"

Sora smiled as he rubbed away the tears and set him down. "Good. Now take a rest, okay? I'll get you to the center soon."
The mouse looked like he wanted to argue but thought better of it and nodded. He silently allowed himself to be placed back in his Pokeball.
The brunette stood slowly, smiling some.
Roxas shifted uneasily. "Sora I-"
"forget about it Rox... it wasn't your fault." He chuckled. "Raichu's too determined for his own good sometimes."


Meanie? Terra thought, raising an eyebrow while she recalled her sheep. What an... interesting... okay no just pathetic insult. He shook his head and smiled, leaning over and murmuring softly to her Flygon's attacks. "Don't worry about tiring him out. My Pokemon have a lot of stamina." He reassured her with a smile. Being a power trainer he had made sure of that - unlike Sora who was a speed trainer and concentrated on both that and endurance. "Oh and I'll keep the damn Roserade away from you."

She smiled at him, seeming grateful for that. Terra chuckled and moved away some to give her space. Flygon blinked and looked back smiling at Venita. His wings trilled in excitement. "Flygon!" He said trying to make it look as if he was promising to battle hard for her before turning back to look at the Aerodactyl, growling.

Terra meanwhile cracked his knuckles and nodded. "Alright Rampardos. Let's take the stupid plant out. Use Stone Edge!"
The dinosaur growled and blue rings surrounded him before they broke apart making stones. "Raaaa!" He growled and suddenly the glowing stones were flung towards Roserade.

[Rikugurl]

The crowd around was silent then going crazy all within minutes. It was... a bit annoying now that he noticed it, seeing that he always had one of the twins or Terra by him when he was watching. Now all he had was Ninetails to talk to but didn't get much feedback back.

"Come on Roxas... pull her out..." He frowned sadly as he saw the mouse slam into her again and again.. but still she stood.
"Nine..." The fox whimpered but barked suddenly as she saw the flamethrower start.... and Raichu ran right into it!

"RAICHU!" Axel cried, his green eyes widening. The only pokemon who could get through that would be a rock type. His eyes widened more as he saw the huge flash and the cat was flying through the air, hitting the ground hard.
"No way!"
The crowd was silent but then cheered out as Glameow was taken back. They did quiet down as Raichu rushed back to his master, and was called back.

"Wonder---"
"NINETAILS!" The fox barked as she saw Absol head out into the ring. She whimpered as her tails tails drooped but Axel smiled. "Oh come on! Have some faith in him!"


Marly frowned as he saw his Sweep way up high. It wasn't like him to go after a human...
He frowned though as he saw the attack going after his Roserade. "Rose! Dodge those rocks and use Toxic!"
"ROSERADE!" The small pokemon narrowed her eyes as she saw the flying rocks come right for her... and gracefully flipped and twisted through them as she jumped into the air.

It was like she was use to all this agility!
"ROSE! RAAAAADE!" She flipped one last time before opening her mouth and shooting a purple sludge over the grounded dinosaur.

Meanwhile, Venita was deep in thought. Sandstorm was a good attack... but would do nothing in a flying battle.
Flying...
"Let me on your back and let's go after him!"

[Reno]

Sora grinned as he heard the bing for his second Pokemon. now he and Roxas were even again. He reached for his belt and took the third to last one off, holding it close as it grew bigger in his hand. "You can do this, I know you can." He threw the ball. "Go Luxray!!"

As the light faded there was a growling roar, the lion shaking out his black mane. Behind him his black tail flicked a yellow star at the tip. He zeroed in on Absol quickly, his red and gold eyes narrowing with a grin.

"And Luxray is Sora's final choice! This fierce and proud lion had aided Sora past the prelims and almost single-handedly won his victory on the water field! He's proved to be a tough opponent but will he be able to beat Absol?"



Terra's eyes narrowed as the stupid plant avoided his attack again. Fuck he hated speedy Pokemon. When he heard the attack though he scoffed... then smirked. "Charge and use head smash!"

Rampardos growled and rather than avoided the toxic attack he lowered his head and rushed right into it. The sludge smacked into his head, dripping down the blue dome but he didn't stop running forward, glowing blue as he smashed his head towards the rose Pokemon.

Flygon meanwhile looked back in surprise at the request. "Fly?" He looked at her, her determination and her vigor. He smirked and nodded, spreading his wings and lowering himself. "Fly Fly!!" He;d protect her.

Once she had settled on his back and wrapped her arms around him, he took off into the sky, faster than before when he had been flying around for fun. She held on tightly but seemed to... be a natural at it without any instruction from Terra on how to.

Flygon came level with the Aerodactyl, smirking as his tail swung behind him.

[Rikugurl]

Axel smiled as he saw Luxray being taken out. Both scary, mean looking Pokemon battling after each other. He could hear other people's companion pokemon whimper in fear from the double intimidation.

However, Ninetails wasn't afraid... but worried as she saw the electric lion. "Ninetails..."


The flower blinked as she was still in the air when that stupid dinosaur ran right through her attack, seeing it hit with ease.
"Rose---RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADE!" She called as she was hit hard, making her go flying off and hit a near by tree.
"Rose!" Marly cried and growled before looking back at Rampardos. A small smirk ran over his face though as he saw the poison seep in an he started to turn a slight shade of purple.

"Roserade!" The roserade shook her head before teetering a bit, trying to catch her balance. "Rose! Use Giga Drain and finish him off!"
"ROSERADE!" The pokemon shook her head before quickly dashing towards the poisoned pokemon before opening her mouth and sucking more life force from him.

Venita smiled as the Flygon lowered his head and quickly got on, like she had done this a million times before. She bravely wrapped her arms around his neck and they were off towards the still roaring pokemon above.
Even with the quick speed, Venita held on, determination in her eyes and no fear in her body. Ventus meant wind... this was where he belonged...

When they came to the same height as the Aerodactyl, she smiled as well. "HEY YOU!" She called, seeing the flying pokemon turn to look right at them.
"AEEEROOOOO!!" He roared as he beat his wings harder to face them.

The cry made Marly look up and frown in worry. "SWEEP! USE DRAGON CLAW!" He called up but it seemed like....Sweep was ignoring him!

The enraged pokemon continued to beat his wings as he opened his mouth but instead of the attack his master called, he let out a cold huff, making his fangs turn into icicles.
"ROOOOOOO!" He roared before charging right for them.
"Dodge it!" Venita cried.

[Reno]

"Alright Luxray let's do this!" Sora said. "Charge beam!"
"Raaay!!!" Luxray growled as yellow sparks surrounded him viciously. The Pokemon opened his mouth and out of it came a yellow beam of electrical energy.
"Double team!" Roxas called and Absol seemed to tense before the beam went through him. Suddenly, as if there was a trick of the light, eight Absols were on the field surrounding the lone lion.
Luxray growled, looking left and right uneasily, unsure of what to do now that he was outnumbered. "Calm down Lux and stand your ground!" Sora watched them all carefully for some indication on which one was real. From watching that battle on the ice, he knew Absol still hadn't perfected this move...
"Razor wind!" One of the Absols moved.

Bingo! "Charge beam to your right!"
Luxray turned his head and fired a yellow beam just as Absol tossed his head, slashes of white energy flying. The two attacks clashed and caused a small explosion. The double team Absols dissipated from the shock wave and a cloud of dust rose, cutting the Pokemon's vision of each other off.

When it cleared... Absol was gone.

"And what a beginning! Sora was able to see through the double team and counter that razor wind with a charge beam! But now Absol has ducked into the steel beams and is hidden from sight!"

Hidden eh? Sora grinned. "He can't hide form you! Luxray find him!!"
The other Pokemon nodded and his eyes glowed gold. In his sight, the field became blue and black and without much effort he was seeing THROUGH the metal beams. He turned his head slowly left and right and then he saw the tell-tale form of Absol, hiding behind some beams off to his left.

Luxray smirked before he ran over and jumped up onto the steel beams and looked down, tail flicking like a cat that had just found a moth flying on the wall. "Discharge!"
"Luuux!" Cried the lion as blue electricity surrounded him and then wrapped around the beam and charged straight down.
Absol looked up suddenly in shock seeing the lion perched up above him. "Sol?!" How had he found hi-
"SOOOOOOOOL!" Cried the wolf dog as the electricity from the beam jumped from the steel and hit him. He stumbled backwards and shook his head before running off further into the beams zigzagging quickly and trying to lose the other but Luxray effortlessly followed from above, jumping from beam to beam.

"How...?" Roxas asked, puzzled.
"Come on Roxas!" Sora called triumphantly. "Did you forget so soon about Luxray's eyes? I bragged about them for hours!!"
The announcer clarified. "Though Absol continued to try and evade Luxray, this Pokemon is having no trouble at all finding him. Luxray's eyes, when they glow gold, give him the power to see through anything!"
Roxas cursed. "Fuck!" Shit he forgot about that. Absol... would have nowhere to hide.


"You just don't get it, do you?" Terra said in a haughty, angry tone even as the Giga Drain started to seep away at his rock Pokemon's energy and Flygon and Venita were flying up above.

The dinosaur growled red eyes narrowed on Roserade. He wasn't falling though, standing his ground.
"My Pokemon... will NEVER fucking lose to pink fucking psychos!" Terra growled. "Rampardos... take her out!"

The Dinosaur opened his mouth and took a deep breath... then blew out, a cold, blue chill washing through the air. The icy wind of blizzard flew out and attacked Roserade head on, ice crystals slamming into her hard.

Flygon growled some as the purple dinosaur came flying at him, teeth glowing with ice. At Venita's cry though, the Flygon swooped above the Aerodactyl laughing some as he sailed quickly below him.

Axel was slightly shocked as he heard Sora go right into an attack like that. His arms wrapped around Ninetails closer, knowing she was going to get upset throughout this battle.
He smiled though as he saw the double team take place. "Nice!" This would help a lot, knowing that it was a pretty strong move... but he had to remember, Luxray had a pretty keen eye.

"Nine!" The fox called but whimpered as the two caught attack at the same time, the dust making it impossible for her or her master to see... but when it cleared, Absol was gone.
"Tails...?"
The lion was off quickly though and even when she couldn't see anything, she could hear it. The cry of the white dog.
"NINETAILS!" She tried to jump from Axel's arms but was held down fast. "Calm down! He'll be ok!"
He had never seen her act like this with other Pokemon before...


Marly grinned as he saw his pokemon grow back her strength but glanced at Terra as he started to talk. With a growl, he made fists and snapped back. "My Roserade----"
"ROSERAAAAAAAAAAAA----" A cry was cut short as the blizzard hit her and suddenly.... encased her in a block of ice.

She was frozen solid.
"ICE!? How the hell does he know an ice attack!?" The rose haired man cried furiously as he pulled at his hair but quickly grabbed her poke ball and called her back.

Before he could say much more, a third voice joined them.
"Marluxia!"
A very angry woman stomped out from inside the building towards the two trainers and the Rampardos. It was the contest director. "What are you doing!? You know it's against the rules to battle in a contest! What----"

"AAEEEEEEEEROOOOOOO"
The woman blinked as she looked up, frowning even more. "Is that YOUR Aerodactyl!?"
The man blinked, a sweat drop rolling down the back of his head. "Y-yes, miss."
"Well get him DOWN here! The awards are now 3 minutes late!"
The man nodded and quickly looked above. "SWEEP! YOU LISTEN TO ME! YOU GET DOWN HERE RIGHT----"
"AAAAAAAEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOO!"

Marly frowned but seemed to be a bit upset. "This isn't good... he's not listening to anything I say!"

The enraged dinosaur grew even more mad as he flew into nothing. He beat his wings hard to turn around and shot after Flygon and Venita once more.
"Dodge and use DragonBreath!" The girl called as she hung on tightly.

[Reno]

"Alright Absol! Use razor wind on the beams!" Roxas called.
Absol heard the order and his scythe grew white again. He turned around and tossed his head. The white slices of energy crashed into a few of the beams Luxray had been jumping between. The lion paused and growled claws digging into the steel as it started to fall. When it was tilted enough he started to run down it, charging for Absol.
"Dark pulse!"
"Light screen!"

Absol opened his mouth and a stream of black and purple energy flew from his mouth. Luxray landed on the stub of the metal that was left behind after being caught and growled, a yellow square of protective energy surrounding him suddenly. The beam hit the protective wall and exploded against it, leaving Luxray safe inside. Dark smoke floated around the box after the attack. The lion's eyes narrowed, looking around through the smoke with his glowing eyes but it made his vision fuzzy as the light screen faded away.
"Night slash!!"

Luxray tensed up and growled, looking around frantically in the smoke.
"Soool!"
The lion blinked and looked above him seeing the white dog flying above him suddenly, scythe glowing once more. He dog fell as if if he was pouncing on him. He tossed his head though, the sharp side of his head slamming into the lion's side.
With a cry, Luxray was flung from his perch and went slamming into another beam. The lion growled looking up towards Absol.
"Lux..." Sora said worriedly, but then growled. "Come on you can do it! Charge beam!!"
Roxas heard the attack and quickly responded. "Double team!"
Again the yellow stream shot through Absol who merely dissipated and the eight Absols circled around the lion once more.

"Luuuuuuuuux!!!" Roared the enraged lion as he jumped to his feet, looking left and right.
"Hit them all with discharge!!"
The lion's eyes sparked some and he threw his head back as the blue electricity sparked around him. "RAAAAAY!" The lion roared raising his tail. following the four points of the star, electricity shot off in four directions, hitting two Absols in every direction.

"SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!" Screeched Absol as he was hit with the electricity again.
"Absol!!" Roxas cried, growling.
"There he is! Use bite!" Luxray charged forward towards the white dog, jumping towards him, mouth open and fangs glistening.
"Dark Pulse!!"
Absol's eyes snapped open despite the pain he was in and opened his mouth another dark stream of energy slamming into the lion in midair.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!" Cried the large cat as he was thrown back on the sandy path and slammed into the ground nearly thirty feet away. The lion grunted softly but quickly got back to his feet, turning to face the Absol. The two proud and determined Pokemon stared each other down, panting hard.
"Lux, lux, lux..."
"Sol, sol, sol...."

Roxas and Sora no longer heard the announcer or the crowd, they no longer cared who they were fighting again. Nothing filled them but the possibility to win, the tension that filled a person when you knew these last moves decided everything.


Terra just laughed at Marluxia's overreaction smirking as he recalled Rampardos. "It's called a Technical Machine." He placed the ball back to his belt, turning his eyes towards the sky. "Venita..." He murmured seeing her precariously perched on his flygon's back in the middle of a high-flying battle! The fuck was she - crazy?!

.......... And why the fuck did her dare-devil acts fucking turn him on? She was too fucking attractive for her own good!!

Flygon beat his thin dragon-fly like wings watching the prehistoric Pokemon whirl and turn on them again. "Gon!!" He called at the other's orders. As Aerodactyl shot towards them Flygon charged forward as well. Just as it appeared they were going to collide Flygon twisted around spinning right under the pterodactyl without little effort. The kinetic energy from the spin also helped to keep Venita on his back. He righted himself quickly, not wanting to tempt fate and opened his mouth a powerful blast of yellow-green fire smacking onto Aerodactyl's unprotected back and wings once more this time with enough force to knock him off his flight pattern.

The two in the bleachers watched the intense battle become even more intense by the minute. Ninetails was full of nerves, she just couldn't watch anymore.

Axel on the other hand couldn't keep his eyes off the battle, waiting to see what Pokemon wouldn't be fast enough or what one would out smart the other... but it was a dead lock. This battle was really in for the trainer's last calls as he saw the two pokemon panting, glaring at each other.

Even with the tense situation, Axel blinked, slowly feeling like Sora and he realized who was going to win. With that, a small smile ran over his face.


"AEEEROOOOOOO!" The angry pokemon opened his mouth more to bite the incoming dragon... but not being as swift as Flygon, he once again shot towards nothing. "AAAAAAEEEEEEEEER" He cried more as he flapped harder but was suddenly hit with a powerful blast.

Venita held on tightly as the dragon twisted, closing her eyes for only a moment before feeling the attack being pushed out of the dragon's mouth.
"ROOOOOOOO!" The other pokemon fumbled in the sky, losing some balance as he dipped lower. "Quick! Go after it while it's trying to gain it's balance! Use Dragon Pulse then slam it towards the ground!"

[Reno]

Roxas' eyes narrowed a serious look on his face as he realized something he hadn't the last time. Luxray's eyes could see through walls... but not through a double team attack...

"Absol, use double team again!!" Roxas called meeting his Pokemon's eyes. The dog nodded suddenly and shut his eyes and suddenly disappeared. there were flashes as Absol split several ways and suddenly it was as if an army was staring down Luxray.

Sora's eyes narrowed suspiciously at the change of tactic. Usually Roxas only used double team to prevent his Pokemon from getting hit by an attack. Maybe this time he was aiming to exhaust Luxray, hoping he'd use discharge to get rid of them all again. Well, Roxas was being silly if he thought he'd do that again! "Lux, watch them all closely and attack the first one that moves!"

Luxray growled and nodded hunching down some and his eyes narrowed, his eyes darting left and right looking for any sign any indication of which one was real. A shift in stance, a twitch of a paw, a twitch of the eyelids...

But none of them even seemed to be breathing...

The lion growled in frustration, a small breeze picking up in the silence and moving the sand around a little. Still nothing.

Sora was silently watching them as well, trying to catch any indication but... something seemed eerily wrong here. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven....
His breath caught and his eyes went wide and he suddenly cursed. "Shit!"
Jolteon looked up in panic, confused.
"Luxray none of them are real!! Sora yelled. "Light-"
"Too late! Razor wind!" Roxas yelled in victory.

Absol burst from the steel beams right beside Luxray. The crowd went wild as the slices of energy flew through the air and scored a direct hit on the lion blasting him back into another steel pillar. The lion hit hard with a clang and then fell to the ground with a grunt.
"Ray-Ray!" Sora suddenly called. "Are you okay?!"
The lion growled as he raised his head. "Lux!" He answered, scoffing at the nickname.

Roxas shook his head, surprised the large cat was still conscious. It wouldn't take much more. He nodded. "Absol lets end this! Use Night Slash!!"
"Soool!" Cried the wolf as he charged forward, his scythe white once more.
"Lux you gotta get up! You can do it!" Sora encouraged. "You've gotta stop him!"

Luxray as he struggled, legs shaking with effort but fell back down, eyes shutting in pain. The white dog grinned as he got close, charging like a bull with his horns. The other couldn't do anything!

"LUXRAY!" Sora yelled, grabbing onto the bar in front of him tightly. "WATCH OUT!"

Gold and red eyes snapped open just as the dog was upon him. With all the strength he could muster he jumped up and suddenly locked his teeth around Absol's scythe, stopping him in his tracks!
"Sol?!"The caught Pokemon cried, struggled to get away but the others teeth were stronger than steel!
"What the!" Roxas cried eyes wide.
Sora smiled. "I knew you could do it! Alright throw Absol!!"

Luxray grinned viciously around his catch and with the power and his back legs he got onto his hind legs, tossing Absol right over his head! The dog smacked hard into the metal beam behind him. "Sol!!" The dog grunted falling to the ground. His eyes opened and he looked up towards the lion growling down at him.
"Discharge!"
"Dodge it!!" Roxas yelled desperately as the blue electricity went flying.
"Ab... sol!" Cried the dog as he jumped to his feet and raced off to the right the electricity getting attracted to the metal and shocking it harmlessly instead. The white dog ran back over to his master's side of the field turning around slowly and panting harder than before.
Luxray's tail and head fell a little, breathing hard as well as his attack missed and Absol got away. He stepped back onto the path and turned to face the dog, growling. Across the pqath two trainers shared similar rivalry looks.
"This ends now! Absol, finish it with dark pulse!"
"Luxray cut through it with charge beam!!"

"Soool!" "Raaay!!" Cried the two Pokemon as they both opened their mouths, and a yellow beam of electricity and a black and purple beam of dark energy flew down the paths with enough force to shake the stadium and raise up dust. The attacks hit and their strength caused a huge explosion.
"SOOOOOOL!" Cried Absol as he was flung back from the force twisting into the air and cracking solidly into the ground.
"RAAAAAAAY!" Screamed Luxray as he was also thrown back and soared threw the air before his flight was abruptly over when he slammed into another pillar before he hit the ground again, whimpering.

The dust slowly settled but neither Pokemon got up, both shaking with pain.
"Folks... this might be a double knock-out!" The announcer called, breaking into the calming silence. "If neither Pokemon gets up than Roxas and Sora will have both lost!"

The brunette twin frowned some at that announcement but looked towards his lion seeing him shifting. He had heard it too and was too proud to lose. All his Pokemon had a lot of heart...
Sora leaned over the railing, yelling loudly. "Come on Luxray, you can do it! I believe in you!!"
"Jolt jolt jolt eon!!!" Jolteon encouraged right beside him.

Roxas looked towards his twin at the notion, looking towards Luxray who was trying to get up then over towards Absol. To his shock his wolfen dog was also struggling. "Absol you've got this!" The blonde boosted. "I know you can get up buddy!"

The crowd was breathless watching the two Pokemon struggled painfully slow to their feet, amazing at their vigor and will.
Luxray grunted but slowly pulled himself all the way up, trying to catch his breath. "Raaay..."
"That's it! I knew you could do it Lux!"
Across the way, Absol was just doing the same, limbs shaking. "Sol!" The dog cried, chest heaving as he took in deep breaths. The Pokemon met eyes again, knowing the battle wasn't yet over.
"Alright Absol great job!"
"Amazing these two just don't want to give in! Ladies and Gentleman it isn't often you see two Pokemon with as much spirit and will as Absol and Luxray are showing right now!"

Roxas sighed but smiled at the announcer's words. That was his Absol. "Absol, one last time! Razor wind!"
"Alright Luxray this is it!" Sora cheered from the other end. "Discharge!"
Absol growled tensing up as his scythe started to glow again.
Luxray snarled, tail swishing as moved to step forward...

Something went wrong that sent Sora's heart racing. Luxray winced as his foot touched the ground, growling harshly in pain... and then he fell back to the ground. The other raised his head slowly... then slumped back down, unable to get up.
"Luxray is unable to battle, Absol takes the round! Sora has no more Pokemon so Roxas wins!"
Cheers burst all over. Except for two.
"Luxray!" The brunette cried, jumping over the bar, Jolteon right behind him. He ran over to his fallen lion, falling behind him. He reached out, tenderly running his hand along the other's mane. Jolteon whimpered worriedly beside him. "Ray-ray... are you okay?"
The lion slowly opened his eyes sighing sadly raising his head. "Raaay..."
Sora blinked but smiled, his hand falling from the mane and carefully ran over the front leg that was hurting his friend. Sprained probably. "Don't look so depressed, the battle was awesome."
"Lux?" The other asked, looking up.
"Yeah! Come on that way you chased after Absol was awesome and not to mention that discharge with your tail!" Sora grinned the praise seeming to perk the lion up enough to make him smile. He wrapped his arms around the other, hugging him. "Good job Lux... thank you." He pulled away taking off the Pokeball and recalled his friend before placing it back on his belt. "Well... that's it Jolteon. Guess our battling ends here." The brunette sighed sadly. That meant he didn't get to battle Terra... or Axel in the finals. How depressing.
Jolteon's ears fell sadly, whining.

"....Sora?"
Sora blinked but looked up, seeing Roxas had approached him Absol at his side. The brunette was silent for a moment before he stood and a smile spread on his face. "Hey Roxas... congrats." He nodded to Absol. "To you and Glameow and Skarmory too. It was a great battle."
The dog smiled a little.
"It..." Roxas hesitated. "It just isn't going to be the same without you battling too."
The elder looked up and chuckled. "Thanks... but you'll do great Rox I know it." He held out his hand in askance. "I'll be rooting for you."
Roxas blinked looking down at the hand before grabbing it... and he tugged Sora closer, enveloping him in a rare hug. "Thank you... for everything."
Sora blinked but embracing the other back tightly, chuckling. "I didn't do anything Roxas. It was all you."


Flygon grinned at the other's order. "Flllly!" He called, lowering his head and flapping his wings quickly after the other Pokemon. He opened his mouth as he got close. He shot out a beam of light purple energy, rings of white energy circling around it. It slammed into Aerodactyl with plenty of force, shoving the other further from his height.

Flygon dived suddenly, feeling Ven's hands clench around his neck in a tight grip. "Flllly... GON!" He flipped as he came above the Aerodactyl his powerful tail swinging down and slamming into the other, knocking him right out of the sky and into the ground!

The Flygon righted himself, the warm hands at his neck reassuring Venita was still there. He flapped his wings in a victorious song. "Fllly!"

[Rikugurl]

"Mommy! Mommy! Look!" A boy cried as he pointed down at the two pokemon on the ground. "Are they ok?"
"Sure honey, their trainers will take good care of them."

Axel glanced over and smiled slightly before looking down at the two struggling below. Their will power was amazing but he didn't expect anything less. All of Roxas's, Sora's and Terra's pokemon were extremely strong with determination. They must of gotten it from their trainers.

"This is it, Ninetails..." He whispered through her fur, hearing her whimper softly.
The attacks were called and the crowd went silent as the pokemon took a step and---
"Ninetails!" The fox barked as she saw the lion fall down but the crowd suddenly cheered as the fight was announced over.
"THAT WAS THE BEST ONE YET! I WANNA BE A TRAINER MOMMY!"

Axel stood with the rest of the crowd, clapping to congratulate the twins on an amazing battle. He was sure it was going to be one that will be kept in the files. A small smile ran over his lips as he saw the brothers hug. This was a great ending... and maybe a great beginning. This battle gave Roxas proof that he was a great trainer.
He just hoped that... he wouldn't have to battle him tomorrow... Three more days were left and they were all six on six. The chances of him battling Roxas or Terra were high.

Then again, who said HE was going to win his battle? His own was in two more hours.

The bleachers quickly emptied, Axel and Ninetails trying to push through to meet up with their friends.

When they did, Axel clapped once more as he walked down the hall that led them to the arena. "You guys did great!"
"Ninetails!" The fox yipped as she trotted over to the weak wolf, licking his head caring.


The dinosaur continued to beat his wings as hard as he could to gather his balance but before he could, he could hear the music of the other dragon coming up. He glanced back, not paying attention to balancing anymore. "AAAAAAAAAEEEEEERR!" The pokemon was starting another attack when it was hit by another.
"ROOOOOOOOOOO!" He as pushed down towards the ground, his wings flapping even more.

Venita held on tightly as the dragon dove and whipped around, the force of his tail hitting the other almost made her lose her grip but she squeezed his neck.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRR----!!!"
The dragon went flying and flailing through the sky, hitting the ground hard enough to make it rumble.
Dust flew up but that didn't stop Marly from rushing to the site.
"SWEEP!" He called as he came up to the pokemon on the ground with swirls in his eyes. "Rooo....."
"What the hell got into you!? Come back!" The pokeball was held out and the large pokemon was zapped back into it.

Up above, the green dragon flew down in a corkscrew once more and landed gracefully, Venita hopping off his back easily and walking in front of him. She looked up, her blue eyes shining. "Thanks Flygon! You were great!" She smiled before kissing the side of his face as he lent down to nuzzle her.

"Venita Troublefield!" The director rushed over and looked the girl over. "Oh my! Are you alright!?"
"O-oh... y-yes, ma'me." She blushed but blinked as she had her arm grabbed. "Good because we have a show to put on!"
"WAAAAA!" The blonde was pulled back into the building and the door was closed.

[Reno]

Sora and Roxas looked over when they caught sight of the familiar red hair. It was kinda of hard to miss. The brunette grinned placing his hands behind his head while Roxas shyly looked towards the ground. "Thanks!" Sora chirped just as Roxas murmured it.

The elder twin chuckled at his younger's sudden shyness again, shaking his head. "It was a lot of fun! Too bad I won't get to keep going but I guess that just means I have a lot more to learn."

Absol smiled nuzzled Ninetails when she started to lick him. "Sol~"

Sora looked over at them and chuckled. "They are so in love~" He chuckled before stretching his arms up above his head. "Well I better get down to the Pokemon center. I'll take yours too Rox, if you wanna stay~"


Flygon grinned as he landed once more lowering himself so Venita could easily get off of him. He raised himself some as she came in front of him and he grew hearts in his eyes when she kissed him. "Flllly~" He nuzzled her happily.

Terra watched them with a smile. What a woman....

However it took less than three seconds for the intimate scene to be broken up - by the director no less. No goodbyes or good lucks could even be shared before she was gone.
"....Gon?"
"Yep she's gone." Terra sighed but smiled. "Guess we better go watch her win."

He returned Flygon to his Pokeball before rounding around the contest building to the front, buying another ticket before he got inside and found a seat.

Behind stage meanwhile, Aqua and Spinda both were surprised to see the teen being ushered past them. "...What are you doing here?" She hissed as she hurried after him, picking up Spinda and shoving it in his hands.

Axel smiled as he saw the shyness return to the blonde but nodded to Sora. "That's the spirit! Even if we win, there is always room for improvements. Right, Ninetails?"
The fox looked back at yipped happily before blinking and looking up at Sora.

"Y-yea..." Axel blushed a bit as well. "It's up to Roxas... we can watch some more fights together."
He quickly lost eye contact as he looked down at Absol. "You did a great job too!"


Venita was shoved through the back hallways of the building, only getting a glace at the shocked partner.
When she came alongside, all she could do was smirk. "I'm winning, what else?" She took the Spinda, rubbing him on her face to get the rest of the make-up off that was smudged. "Spinda??"

The music started to play out on the stage and all the girls cheered and their pathetic boyfriends forced too.
Only a handful of boy were there just for the boobs behind the dress.
The director came out and blushed as she waved. "Hello ladies! I am very sorry for the wait! Without further ado~ Please give a round of applause to our finalist!"
The curtain was pulled, showing the six girls who had made it through the scoring.

Cheers ran through the room as the girls in cute dresses made a cute stance, including Venita.
"Today is the last day of the Victory City's 10th Annual Cute Contest so one of our little ladies will be going home with a medal and shiny Lapras!" More cheers ran out as the judge panel was lit up, including a very angry looking Delcatty trainer who was trying to shoo a Houndoom away.

The contest continued in the passing around of a mic, having the girls answer a simple question:
If you win, what will you do with a Lapras?
One of the girls said she would enter it in next years contest.
Another said she would give it to her mother for her birthday.
Another said that she'd ride it with her boyfriend to see other places.

When Venita got the mic, she blushed and giggled.
"Well, if I won... I would fulfill my dreams of becoming a cute pokemon breeder... and Lapras can help me deliver cute pokemon from port to port for free to help other cute girls start their dream of winning cute contests!"
"AWE! Isn't that cute!?"
"She's my favorite!"
"I hope she wins!"
"I would love to see a purple Lapras come to my town!"

When that was done, the crowd held their breath as the first judge stood.
"We, the judges, all gathered last night to tally the scores and the scores of the viewers to decide who is the winner of the Victory City's 10th Annual Cute Contest. I would like to announce that the winner is..."
A gasp was heard around the room as the judge paused.
"Venita Troublefield!"
The crowd went wild, girls cheering and bouncing in their seats.
"VENITA! VENITA! VENITA!!"
The crowd chanted as a medal was placed around the blonde's neck as she blushed more and more.

A cute pillow was placed in front of her and she smiled, seeing a rather small pokeball in the middle of it.
"This Transfer ball is a special pokeball that was made just for contest. It allows pokemon giver for awards to be transferred to any type of pokeball you wish to keep them in. When you want to transfer it, just put this pokeball into another one and the pokeball will break, releasing the pokemon into the desired pokeball."
The director explained as she smiled and backed away, clapping for her.

The blonde giggled as she held the ball up high to show it off.
A mic was placed in front of her though that made her blink. "Who would you like to shout out to, Miss Troublefield?" A reporter asked.
"O-oh... Ummm.... Well, first I want to thank my father who made this all possible! I hope you're watching this!" She giggled before kissing her Spinda. "I also want to thank my Spinda and other Pokemon for getting me this far. Then there's my sponsor who pushed me and never gave up, never letting me give up and giving me tons of advice to help me on my way!"

Another giggle was issued before her blue eyes searched around and found a certain brunette. "And I want to thank Terra... for letting me... remember to be myself. Thank you for everything~~ ♥"


"Huh, I wonder if Terra is going out with Venita again." The redhead cocked his head as they got their normal seat at the all you can eat place once more. Terra had won his match a hour ago but the three couldn't find him anywhere after that.
As for Axel, he won as well and now another day was done and more butterflies were twisting in Axel's stomach.


A medal hung under a special gem as the girl in new make-up and an even more beautiful dress was looking at the menu with a glass of water by her side.
"I think we should share an Oden~" She giggled at the other across the table.

[Reno]

Absol looked up at Axel's words and smirked. "Sol!" He tossed his head proudly as if to say 'Of course I did!'

Roxas was still blushing heavily, and he stuttered suddenly. "I-I guess I could stay..." He looked at Sora. "You sure it's okay?"
"Yep!" Sora said with a secretive grin, looking between his blushing twin and Axel's slightly pink cheeks. He had a feeling... he knew what was going on here. He hadn't been sure at first when he started noticing the signs but now he was certain. It appeared Absol and Ninetails weren't the only ones falling for each other.

This was why he had so 'sweetly' given up the bed for the cot, or made Roxas sit next to Axel on the bleachers and was now why he was offering to go to the center alone. The more time they spent together by themseleves the closer they got.

It didn't take long before Sora was carrying three extra Pokeballs, Skarmory's, Glameow's and Absol's, and was bidding the two trainer's ado, promising he'd try and make it back in time to see Axel's match before he was out the door, Jolteon at his heels.


Aqua blinked at the other's response. "...Huh?" She questioned but Ven was already gone, joining the other's behind the curtain. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion and she shook her head. She would never understand him...

She watched from the sidelines, smirking when he was announced the winner. Well of course he was~ She had dolled him up too perfectly to lose.

All she knew though was the boss better be happy with his new additions. A shiny Lapras, a shiny Charizard (of which she had gone and pilfered off of that idiot Pete last night. Slept like the fucking dead he did), and a Moltres. Maybe he'd even give them a promotion! No more fucking grunt work. They might even be able to join the elites that handled the really dangerous or unique jobs like chasing after legendaries...

What she wouldn't give to go after and capture Suicune, the river beast. He would be just a stunning unstoppable member on her team.

Her attention was drawn from her daydreams when she heard Ven giving out thank yous. She rolled her eyes chuckling. If Ven's father WAS seeing this he'd probably come rampaging over and demand why his second born SON was cross-dressing and dating a GUY no less.

She blinked though as Ven also thanked her... and Terra. She rolled her eyes - it was all superficial lies really. She looked out towards the crowd, seeing the look on Terra's face. Completely love-struck. Ugh, she wondered what HE would do when he found out Venita wasn't a girl.


Hours later found a familiar trio at a familiar booth in a familiar place. At Axel's words Roxas scoffed, "Who cares? Ow!" He yelped as he was suddenly hit in the hand by chopsticks.
"Be nice!" Sora said with a wide grin. But he and Axel both knew why Roxas was peeved at the tall brunette.

"So who won?" Terra asked as he found the three trainers getting a quick bite to eat between battles.
"Well I won-" Axel began but Terra waved him off.
"Yeah yeah I knew that." He looked towards the twins. "I mean for you two."
Roxas blushed and looked down and Sora grinned, pointing to the blonde. "He did!"
"Really?!" Terra said, unable to convey his shock.
"OH THANKS!" Roxas snapped glaring at the other.
"Well er..." Terra looked sheepish. "Sorry?"

"Hmph, I hope I get to battle him tomorrow so I can show him a thing or two! I'll kick his ass." Roxas grumbled.
Sora gave a high pitched laugh that could almost of been a giggle. "I'd love to see that!"


Across the table a tall, muscular man was looking down at his own menu when he looked up at the girl across from him. Obviously his date.
His eyes lit up at her choice and he nodded. "That sounds great!"
After they had placed there orders and given back there menus Terra smiled at Venita. "So... since your contest is over and all... do you think you could make it to the conference? I'm in the finals..."

Axel couldn't help but laugh as he shook his head, putting more food in his mouth with his chopsticks. "I don't know Roxas, Terra is a pretty ruthless trainer. I don't even want to battle him." He frowned as he chewed and swallowed, taking a sip of his tea. "Then again, I really wouldn't want to battle you either, Roxas." He glanced at the other and when the green met the blue, he looked away, blushing more.

With a blink though, he snapped out of it as he saw Ninetails. Her plate was empty... AGAIN!
"Jeez, Ninetails, you've had quite the appetite lately."
"Tails!" She yipped happily, her tails wagging around gracefully.
The redhead pulled her plate away and placed it under his... but was shocked when he heard her whimper.
"You...want more? It's not good to overeat, Ninetails. Especially when he have a big day tomorrow."


Venita smiled as she gave the menu back and took a sip of her water.
Gross, gross, gross, gross grooooss.
She blinked and looked up at Terra, her dreamy eyes looking into him. "I'm not shocked. Your pokemon are amazing."
She reached other and placed her hand gently on Terra's, her fingers rubbing the tanned ones. "I'd love to~~♥"

[Reno]

Roxas blushed a little at the other's admission smiling some. "Well... yeah me either... but Terra needs someone to kick him off his high horse." He grumbled, eating some rice.
Sora looked across the table at them shaking his head, but they all blinked and looked towards Ninetails when the red-head exclaimed over her plate only to whimper more when it was taken away.

Absol looked over and whined, nudging over his plate. "Sol!" He barked, offering to her what was left.
Sora laughed at the cuteness of it all. "I don't think Absol's giving you a choice." He said as his chopsticks descended for his own plate.

They made a soft thud as they hit wood instead. Sora looked down in confusion seeing nothing but the table. "...Where'd my food go?"
"Jolt, jolt!" His partner said, looking at the edge of the table where three Pokemon were devouring a plate. Sora turned his eyes towards them as well and sweat-dropped when a lightning tail, a star tail and a tail of feathers all stared him back in the face. "Hey hey!" He reached between the three snatching his plate. "I didn't invite you guys out to steal my food!"
Raichu, Luxray and Staraptor all looked up at him innocently. Sora huffed and looked at his plate and pouted when he noticed it was empty.
Roxas snickered shaking his head. "Nice training there Sora."
The brunette glared and reached across the table stealing an egg roll from his brother's plate taking a huge bite out of it. "Mmm yum!"
"Hey!!"


Terra smiled happily, moving his hand so he could entwine his fingers with hers. "I'm glad. You're really gonna love it." He smirked with complete confidence. "I'm going to win the whole cup just you watch."
