Axel frowned at the last statement. "Hey, hey... don't say that alright? Look at you... you're already sounding like a 50 year old virgin. You're what... 16? We're still young, you know? You don't need to have sex just because everyone else is... or because it's the 'in' thing anymore. You still have plenty of years ahead of you."
He sighed as he laid down and looked up at the ceiling. "I know when you find that right person... the one who you have no doubts in your mind that you wanna be with that person forever... and you fall in love and they fall in love with you.... sex.... might just become.... natural. Maybe you just haven't met that right person yet... or you just haven't realized it."
He yawned and closed his eyes. "Don't worry about it Rox... the more you do, the more it's going to take over your life."
They laid there in silence before Axel looked over at him. "So... do you think you still like me?"

Roxas sighed a little nodding. "Alright." But worrying was what he did! He was a realist and a pessimist damn it - never a good combination. He knew all the facts and figures, knew the statistics and the social theories...
Even people who were completely normal had problems finding someone who is 'right' for them... ... and no one wants broken goods.
The golden rule: There is slim chance you'll end up happy.
He shut his eyes, relaxing on the bed as they stewed in the silence. That is until, Axl brought up the question.
Roxas looked up and then hummed, seeming to honestly think about it. Did he like Axel...?
When they had held hands just moments ago, it was so... different. Awkward, but not in the 'ew that's gross' sort of sense but more the excitably-nervous feeling he had had when he first did it with Olette, yet still... altered slightly from the knowledge it was a GUY he had been doing so with...
He liked Axel's company. To the point that he was too scared to be around him. That... was well actually that was a bad sign psychologically speaking, but he knew in the ways of crushes it was a positive one.
Then there was earlier today... when Axel came to save him and he, without thinking, tried to jump back into the fight because he was afraid of how much they were hurting the red-head...
And... and somehow Axel made him feel comfortable and happy. He had danced like a fool in front of him even sang... and he'd just admitted his darkest secret to the red-head.
Yet, what stopped any of this from just being signs of a really good friendship? Well... most would say sexual attraction - which was his PROBLEM damn it!
Could... he imagine going out for ice cream with Axel? Yes. For dinner? Easily. For a movie? Ugh, no movies but maybe to an arcade...
Could he... imagine holding hands with Axel? Yeah. Kissing him? ....Y-Yes. .................Having sex with him? Dear god no. But... cuddling might not hurt...
He'd never KNOW if he didn't really try though. "Yeah... Yeah I do." Roxas said, a slow smile spreading across his face and his heart soaring at the admission. "...Do you?" His heart froze in mid-flight, ready to come crashing back down to realty at any second.

There was a long moment of silence before Axel blinked from Roxas response.
The narrow, exotic eyes of the Junior looked up at the blonde before reaching out and swirling his finger in one of the blonde curls. "Yea... I do. I signed up on the dance contest to get to know you better... and I'm not so annoyed with those big feet of yours anymore."

Roxas just smiled goodhearted. "Leave my unusually proportioned feet out of this!" His toes curled under the sheets as his heartbeat practically screamed in his ears and he chuckled to relieve some of the tension in his body.
"Then... if i like you and you like me... shouldn't we date?" He asked softly, looking up at the red-head.

Axel's cheeks reddened just a bit... but at the date thing he had to laugh. "I'd say yea but.... you see.... I'm dirt poor. And the likelihood of me nabbing a job is pretty low because of my criminal record... and my drug tests. That's why I did everything I could to get into Hollow Bastion... I wanted to get into college so I could finally make some money and help out my aunt."
He sighed as he closed his eyes. "Though... I suppose walking in a park doesn't cost anything... or swimming at the beach... or watching the stars. If it's something like that... I don't seem to have a problem with it." He looked up at the blonde and smiled. "As long as you don't..."

Roxas grinned and nodded. "Sounds perfect..." There were lots of things they could manage to do that were free - they'd just have to find them. And things that were in Roxas' budget... he wouldn't mind paying for.
He'd even sneak Axel into his job for free movies if he had too. That was something he hadn't even done with Olette.
Roxas yawned tiredly. "I'd fall asleep right now, but I'm worried about any inappropriate groping." He grinned teasingly at Axel's indiginant complaints. Yeah... this was going to be interesting.
When Roxas had appeared at school a definite limp in his walk and dread of dance class, not to mention the blotchy purple bruise covering a good portion of the side of his face, his friends managed to drag the story out of him. At least, the part where he got ambushed on his way to Axel's.
When he got home... oh boy that was an adventure. His brothers had stayed clear of the yelling parents and their youngest child. "Did this happen on campus?!" "No!!" "Oh so now you're taking your fights to back alleys?!" "....." "Roxas we TALKED about this! You're on the line as it is! You could get thrown out of school and then what?!" "Then I guess Ven'll at least have a friend!" "Roxas don't you back sass us! Do you want to be grounded again?!" "Do whatever the hell you want!" The blond stomped upstairs, disregarding his parents calls to get back down there and slammed his bedroom door. Why bother telling them what really happened? Then he'd never see Axel again... So he was grounded. Another month in fact. It dampened his and Axel's budding relationship a bit but with the contest excuse on their side Roxas, for the most part, could escape. And when he worked, it was hardly an effort just to invite Axel to join him in the projector room where they pigged out on concession stand snacks and made fun of the movies that played for the 16th time in a row.
And anytime they didn't see each other there was always school. Having lunch, P.E. and dance together, not to mention running into each other during mornings and after school, they saw quite a lot of each other. He also... made friends with Axel's blond friend Demyx, who figured out they were 'going together' in about 5.2 seconds. "Heya Roxie what finally brought you over to the dark side?" The blond teased. "Axel molest you during the sleepover?" "Uhhhhh...."
As for Roxas... well his brothers knew (which was more difficult then it at first seemed because, of course, Ventus had been spending so much time at the hospital) and that was enough for now. He wasn't ready to tell his friends and, as he made very clear, very far away from being ready of telling his rather homophobic parents, especially since if he told Sora and Ventus would also be forced to confess and he knew neither of them were ready.
The only other plus that came out of getting the crap beat out of him was the fact Seifer left him alone. He probably had Olette to thank for this - she no doubt told him to back off for awhile since he was ALREADY rather battered and broken.
But... maybe his position was a blessing when compared to another, more unfortunate teen.
Hatori sighed, holding onto his wife's hand as they walked the familiar path to his son's room. A week had passed, Terra miraculously surviving even though he gave them all plenty of scares, especially Thursday night when the brunette's temperature climbed to and nearly passed 112. It was the highest he'd ever had... and it had caused a seizure. He was... incredibly lucky to still be alive.
Yuna... had the results. She had called them down there to speak with them in person... that was not a good sign. On one hand... it meant that their was an answer this time - the tests had come back positive with something. But... who knew what.
He paused in front of their son's door in the intensive care unit glancing at his pale and shaking wife - hopefully she was ready for this. He squeezed her fingers lightly, before walking inside with her.
And then he raised an eyebrow. "It's called a orange gerbera. Come on Ven, they aren't that hard to remember." Terra murmured, his blue eyes studying the single dandelion-like flower he was rolling between his fingers, watching the face of the blossom spin like a spiraling orange sun. Aerith must of come by earlier. The monitor read: 105.7.
It had been happening all week. His temperature would drop before climbing again, oftentimes very fast and devastatingly. In fact, before it had hit 112 at night it had been all the way down at 104 that Thursday morning. Each time it dropped, Terra was more conscious of what was going around him, held conversations and could even do some simple tasks. But as he got hotter, he'd get delusional, incoherent, have hallucinations and, occasionally, fever-induced nightmares. And, when high enough, he'd lose consciousness and start to convulse. There were other, less important, side effects. His skin had paled some, he was losing good amounts of weight and muscle and had broken the skin on several places on his body due to sudden, itchy rashes that would appear.
The tired blue eyes looked up from the flower when he heard the door opened and smiled weakly at his parents. This week had been hell - and it wasn't over yet. Terra wanted it to be over though... god did he ever. "Hi."

Ah yes... pigging out on snacks while watching a horrible movie with good company for free was the best. Axel didn't think it could get any better. His aunt thought so too. He noticed since the night the blonde had stayed over, Axel had been out of the house more... and where he got the money for taxi rides, she'd never know.
Of course, that money for the taxi was his very small allowance that he didn't blow off on weed. He didn't have an urge to smoke it since he was busy with Roxas. Another thing was... Roxas didn't like Axel smoking all too much.
Axel was waiting outside at the school for Roxas to come out so they could both head to the theaters. Demyx had already left with Aqua's brother for a Hindu study group at one of the colleges. He had a cigarette in his mouth but the minute Roxas walked out the back door, the redhead sat on it. "Heh...AAHhh......ummmm, hey~~"
His butt hurt all night long. Sure he wouldn't quit smoking tobacco like he did weed but he didn't smoke as much. This too helped his wallet some.
Today he was picking up Roxas to go practice their dance... or so they said. With some pizza and soda money, Axel decided to bring Roxas on their first... 'date'. He asked Roxas to go ice skating with him. The minute the cab drove up, Roxas rushed out of the door, calling back to his parents and getting into the back with the redhead.
Green eyes widened as he saw a bag. A.... ice skate bag. "You have your own ice skates!?"
Seeing that Roxas was busy with Axel and Ventus was at the hospital with Terra, Riku spent most of his time with Sora and Halo. Of course... Riku's certain girlfriend didn't like this and called him all the time when he finally did get home.
The silverette woman blinked as her matching haired son walked through the door. "Kairi called for you?" "Oh yea?" "Yea.... like six times."
Apparently he wasn't spending enough time with her. He did eventually call her back and snapped at her that Sora needed him right now and that he was sorry that he was 'ignoring' her. This relationship was getting tough. But all in all, Riku was feeling pretty good. He was spending a lot of time with his best friend... just like the old days.
One night, they even opened Sora's window and cleaned off the snow that was on the roof below. They climbed out and Sora held Halo so she wouldn't fall. They sat there silently as they looked up and watched the stars. "Hey Sora...?" "Hmmm?" "Do you think... any of them went out because I haven't been watching them?"
It was now around dusk as Roxas called back as he left the house. Riku and Sora were in the living room in front of the fire, drinking coco and petting/brushing Halo. Riku smiled as he ran the brush through her before blinking, hearing Bryna and Sirocco talking in the kitchen.
"Augh, this is the kind of crap I hate coming home to. I get home after a longs day work, pick up the newspaper and right on the FRONT page is an article about the election for the new mayor and the head man's views. Can you believe Shinra's boy is running and going to try to make it legal for gays to get married in Radiant? What the hell is that all about? Well, I'm going to tell you know, Bryna, I like Mr. Shinra, he did an amazing job with this city but his son is getting NO vote from me."
Riku frowned as he looked back towards the fire. "I don't know if I really like your dad anymore, Sora." He whispered as he shook his head.
A silverette sighed as her hand reached up... and realized that she wasn't tall enough to get the last jar. She frowned and looked around, seeing if anyone in the isle was tall enough to reach it for her. There sure was... but the likely hood of her asking someone in one word was pretty hard.
Her red eye looked back up at the jar before she tried to reach it again. She needed to get that Fluff to make Rai his sandwich for tonight. She always made him a Fluffernutter when he got sick. It probably wasn't the best for his stomach but he liked it enough any way.
No use. She sighed as she put her basket down and looked around to make sure no one was around now. When the coast was somewhat clear, she made some room on the bottom shelf for her feet so she could climb up and reach it. Hopefully no pervert would look up her school outfit.
As she reached up, another hand came from her blind spot and TOOK the jar. Her red eyes widened before she followed the hand down to a familiar.... woman. Slowly she stepped off and looked up at the other, not by much though. "Aqua...?"
Ventus tilted his head as he looked at the flower. "Just looks like a yellow flower to me..."
Ven had been pretty busy... and so wasn't Aerith. After work they would get together and go to open houses to find a nice place. It was too expensive to even get a one bedroom apartment... Ven thought it was hopeless until one of the sellers talked about a smaller apartment called a studio. It didn't have any bedrooms but... it could work.
So when Ventus got home everyday, he would look around online for studios for sale... and found a few. He booked appointments and had to come up with a good reason to go out alone at night. Claimed that he went to go see Terra. After a few tries, finding some nice ones but hearing the prices after, he found one that seemed... perfect. It was a little snug... but... it was a perfect 'love nest' as Aerith had put it. Besides, there were no tenets across the hall AND the man next door was deaf!
THAT MEANS HE COULD BLAST HIS MUSIC!
You walked into the foyer only to see a hallway with two openings and two closest on the left. When you walked in more, the kitchen was on the right and only had a small wall that continued to the living area. There was also another entrance from that back into the kitchen. From the right of the living area was a nice bathroom big enough for the two. They would have to deal with little walking area for the kitchen and bathroom... and the living area would have to be their dining room, living room AND bedroom... but shit... it was good enough for them!
Men didn't need a lot of room.
Ventus used the munny Aerith gave him for the first and last rent and already prepaid the first and second month rent with the money he was saving up. The next day, him and Aerith went to the flea market and picked up a few things that were needed for the place... like pots and pans, lamps and even an old TV. They found a bunch of hangers for cheep, seeing that they'd need it because they would have NO place to put a dresser.
They then headed to a mattress store and got the cheapest full they could find. After that was the thrift store where they found some other nice things like a night stand, a nice bookshelf, some bathroom things and a phone. Ven even found an awesome wolf comforter that was well loved but one wash in the washer made it smell nice... and it was damn warm. He put some worn sheets on the bed and called it a night.
When they finally moved in... him and Terra could do the rest.
The night he finished... was the night he told his mother. She didn't sound very happy, said that he wasn't old enough to go live by himself but he just PROVED that he had the money to go on his feet... and with help from Terra. He knew why she didn't want him to go... she almost lost him twice... but he told her that this was the best way for him to clear his head. His little medical bracelet and the ugly scars from what he had done to himself weren't the only signs of his recovery.
Ventus... had just said that he wanted to move in with his best friend... nothing more.
And yes... he had seen a convulsion that Terra had gone though... and it scared the living shit out of him. He cried all night and on until he got some word from the doctor that Terra was alright. And here he was, knowing that Terra's doctor had found something...
He looked up as well, seeing Hatori and Ida walk in. Neither of them looked alright... but he couldn't blame them. He too... was worried about what the doctor had to say... and worst part yet... he wouldn't be able to know it first....

OOC: It's a good thing I guessed Ven hadn't told him XD
Roxas blushed darkly as he got in the car and Axel noticed what he was carrying. He... hated to make Axel feel badly about his financial position - but it was hard to gauge what would surprise the other teen.
For example, he wore a necklace of pure silver around his neck EVERY day and never got a response, but say he brought ice skates with him to go ICE skating, now that's suddenly a big deal. "Uh... Y-Yeah?"
He grinned up at the red-head. It was their first 'official' date... once that actually cost money and he didn't want to spoil it... They'd already come a long way after a week though, surprisingly hitting it off even quicker than he and Olette had. Which their different lifestyles and class system, one would believe the exact opposite... But hell, he'd already gotten Axel to stop smoking so much and Axel was already getting him to smile and laugh more... little things really, but important. A good way to start out, right?
Sora yawned as he laid out on the carpet his fingers scratching behind Halo's ears while she was settled in Riku's lap getting a nice brushing. The collie was certainly enjoying this attention. Sora couldn't help but feel like she had become theirs, rather than just his. Both of them could get her to come and listen to commands and she greeted Riku's visits with as much enthusiasm as she did when Sora got home from school. So yeah, she was theirs.
It was okay though. Ever since that... night under the moonlight and after Ven's suicide attempts Riku had become an almost constant presence for Sora. The brunette actually felt much more settled over the issue then the rest of his family - he trusted Ven's word. He wouldn't hurt himself again.
But... he was still happy that Riku was here so often. He didn;t feel so lonely. What with Terra getting sick, Ven's pending move and Roxas' constant activity, he was pretty alone a good portion of the time. Well except for Halo. But Riku was always there to fill the silence even in the dark of the starlit night.
"Do you think... any of them went out because I haven't been watching them?" Sora looked over at his friend in surprise, hugging Halo close. He smiled. "No way. Because the stars know that they're still in your heart and that you still love them just like you did when you were a little kid. I know they're still in mine~" He looked up, grinning. "It's just like when you have friends far away... just cause you can't always see each other, doesn't mean you stop caring."
"Well then honey put it down and help me with dinner." Bryna advised. "You shouldn't be reading nonsense like that anyways, those laws never actually pass. The public won't let it."
Sora broke from his daze when he heard the furious voice in the kitchen. He sat up, listening quietly, and quickly became unsettled and hurt by his parents' words unable to stop the mask of shame from running over his features. If he wasn't gay... it would just make everything so much easier.
He glanced at Riku, chuckling. "Come on Ri, I'm the one whose supposed to be pissed about it." He shrugged, petting Halo idly before shaking his head. He wasn't planning on telling his parents anytime soon, maybe whenever he moved out... five continents away.
He grinned however looking around, seeing neither parent nearby. "Oh I didn't tell you!" He leant over, whispering in the silverette's ear. "Roxas and Axel are going out!" He backed away, grinning from ear to ear. "Isn't it awesome?! I'm so happy for him!" He was proud of both his brothers, finding boyfriends and what not - they were so happy compared to before.
Shopping was such a bore. But it got her out of the house - and she got to find some of her favorite, unhealthy, gay-orientated snacks. how melons and ice lollies were 'gay' she hadn't quite figured that out, but whatever.
She was just passing one of the treat aisles when all of a suddenly, she saw a flash of silver. She paused, that hair color always so damn eye-catching, and glanced down the row. And then she grinned. Score!
Food forgotten, she dropped her basket and went down the aisle just as Fuujin was getting up on the bottom shelf. She spotted what the slightly shorter female was reaching for and effortless snuck up behind her, knocking exactly which side to surprise her from - she only had one eye, it wasn't too hard!
She reached up, getting on the tip-toes, and snatched the jar clean off the shelf. A red eye narrowed on her, before widened in surprise. "That's me~" she purred, a wide grin on her face. "You really shouldn't be doing dangerous stunts like these. A beautiful lady like you had to protect her beautiful body~" She looked the woman up and down before giving her a wink and handing her the jar.
Terra glanced at Ven rolling his eyes before smiling and playfully placing the flower on top of Ven's spiky hair, the petals blending in easily though the green stem clashed. "It would."
Ah yes, the home. Terra knew nothing other then the fact that Ven was searching for one when they were supposed to be doing that together. Any other updates, if he had gotten them, had gone in and been thrown out by the sickness. Yet... he still felt comforted by that fact. The fact Ven was looking - looking towards their future. As if this sickness didn't exist... as if... he really was going to live. It gave him a strength even he couldn't describe.
The week was a blur. A long blur but full of so many missing parts and random losses of memory that he wasn't even sure what was going on anymore, or what day it was, or what hour he woke up at. It was just a disoriented mess of sickness, pain and sleep.
He smiled up at his mother as she came near, noticing how pale she was. Even though this week felt so short for him, he knew it had been long and hard for her. For everyone. "Mom, you gotta cheer up. They have a diagnosis. Isn't this what we wanted?"
"So... when are we going to find out?" Hatori asked after the two's exchange as he leaned against the wall. Terra shut his eyes briefly, "Mmm Yuna said she'd be back soon... receptionist probably paged her when you guys came in." "Did she tell you anything?" "No. She said there's no point since I can't make any of the medical decisions without you guys." Ah, the pain of not being on his own insurance... "Figures."

Axel smiled as the cab started to go. He had already told the driver where to go next after picking up Roxas. "Wow... I've been ice skating since I was a little kid but never owned my own skates." he leaned back into the seat and smiled as the heat wrapped around them.
So far so good really... He wasn't expecting to have such a great time with the blonde. He still remembered when the fire blue eyes stomped over to him and gave him hell because he signed up to be his dance partner... and now look! They were going on their first date!
When the cab pulled up to the building, Axel opened his bag and handed the driver some shinny orbs before following Roxas out. He shivered a bit as he got into the cold. There were two ice skating rinks... the natural one at the park and this one. They had to go to this one seeing that well... Axel didn't have his own skates and two, they were sick of the cold already. At least this place was heated!
They quickly got in and headed to the rental booth. "Can I have a size... 10?" The man nodded and got him some black ones and Axel handed over some more orbs. It was so nice to be able to afford something!
Sirocco frowned and shook his head before getting up and tossing the paper into the trash. Of course they had a recycling bin... but when he was pissed about the news, he argued that it belonged in the trash.
He walked up to Bryna and took the spoon from her. "I'll take care of the rice..."
Riku frowned slightly as he heard Sora's response. "Yea but..." Before he could continue, Sora cried out and his eyes widened before chuckling. "What?" The silverette leaned over, Halo making a little bit of a fuss that her pillow was moving. He blinked at the information and pulled away, continuing to brush her out. "Really...? Those two...?" He smiled as he heard the crackling of the fire. "I would of never guessed."
So... this meant that.... all three of the Holani brothers were gay? And their father... didn't like the gay community at all. He could tell that the family was in for a shock... "Heh... I hope they're doing better than Kairi and I..."
Fuu's only eye widened as she listened to Aqua. She looked away though as she took the jar and put it into her basket. God... even as a girl, she talks to me like a man. That pathetic smile, that degrading wink and looking me up and down like I'm some piece of meat. We're not at a bar so keep your pick-up lines there please...
"Thanks..." She turned and started to walk off. I wish someone would just treat me like... they really wanted to get to know me....
Ven crossed his eyes as he followed Terra's hand and pouted as he felt the flower in his blonde hair. "Thanks... it's my new fashion statement." He teased before pulling it out and holding it as he sat back down into a chair by the bed. He bit his lip and looked down, not wanting to make much eye contact with Hatori... and not to get into the middle of Terra and his mother's conversation.
Ida gave Terra one of her faint smiles before reaching out and taking his hand. "Y-yea.. I know..." She said shakily before looking at Hatori as he started. Almost when Hatori ended the small conversation, there was a knock on the open door.
A few pairs of blue eyes and one red looked over, seeing two familiar doctors. One their main one and one her assistant. Yuna walked into the room, but not very far as she held an manila folder in her hand. She gave everyone a faint smile before looking at the couple. "Ida? Hatori? Can you come to my office?"

Roxas blinked at the admission, smiling faintly as well and filing the information away for later use. So many things Axel didn't have... but probably should. The ONLY thing he didn't have to worry about, was the fact that Axel wasn't freezing in his room - fuck it was like a sauna in there ALL. THE DAMN. TIME!!
He sighed and lent back with a smile the two shyly glancing at each other every now and again on the ride there. They didn't speak much on the way there, still unsure of how to fill their silences at times. What to say what to do...
But luckily they got there soon and, after getting Axel his rental skates at the booth they found an empty bench near the ice rink and took of their shoes, starting to do up their skates. Of course Roxas' were checkered and huge to fit his unnaturally big feet that he inherited from god knows who! Sora just joked about it, saying they probably got into kicking wars with each other in the womb (Ven started the majority of them in these stories) and made all their feet swell.
He blinked when he heard Axel ask him something about his love for black and white checkers and paused mid-tying to think about it. "Umm... I... don't really know." He shrugged and finishing the tie. "Me and Ven have liked it ever since I can remember. It's just our... I dunno 'thing' we have in common?"
He glanced up and grinned teasingly. "What about you Mr. Obsessed with fire?"
Bryna shook her head unhappily when she heard the paper being thrown in the trash - what a waste - before nodding. "Okay good."
She didn't know what Rufus was thinking being so outwardly open - he certainly wouldn't win that way if he kept it up.
Sora grinned teasingly. "Well they've spent every day together since they hooked up so yeah, I think they are." He pat his friend on the shoulder comfortingly, feeling a little bad. He had been... monopolizing his friend's attention lately. "What's going on?"
Not like he'd be able to help. Seeing as he had his own little crush on Riku, he'd only be able to advise the silverette on how to BREAK UP WITH HER FAST!
Aqua blinked in surprise at the quick retreat. That was it?! No - well she wasn't expecting a lengthy monologue or anything but...
"H-Hey I just hit on you again come on now!" Aqua said running after the other before walking at her side. "No response at all? Not even a blush?!" She leaned over getting a good look at Fuujin's face. She seemed more pissed off than anything. "O-Oi... what's wrong?"
Terra blinked as the door opened an the four in the room looked up as the brunette female came in. At her request Hatori nodded. "Of course," He said, pushing against the wall. He had a feeling... this was very bad news.
Ida nor Hatori got very far. "Wait a god damn minute!" Terra growled, which really came out as just some pathetic sort of hissing noise. But damn it he was 18! He could take this. "Don't I have the right to know what the hell is wrong with my body first!?!"
Leave it to Terra to go against authority when he was incapacitated.

Axel grabbed his skates and they headed off to an empty bench. As they were putting on their skates, Axel couldn't help but laugh as he saw his shoe size compared to Roxas's. Didn't they say guys with big feet had.... well.... he never noticed anything in Roxas's.... well.... he never looked.....
He shook his head and laughed. "You really like black and white checkers huh? How come?" He tied up his laces as he heard the excuse and smiled. That was kind of a weird.... 'thing'. The tall redhead stood up but looked down at Roxas with a smile. "Oh... you know... it's hot and... fascinating to me. It's a symbol of strength and destruction... but like... the person looking at it has to figure out what one they want it to mean. I guess it has to do with my struggle as a kid..."
He shook his head and laughed. "Come on~~" He held out his hand and helped Roxas up before walking oddly to the rink.
Riku shrugged as he continued to comb out Halo. "I... don't know.... I've been thinking that maybe... we should break up." He looked over at Sora through his long hair. "I mean.... I just.... I have more fun hanging out with you..." He looked down at Halo and kissed her nose. "And of course you~~" His pale fingers massaged the puppy's ear as he sighed. "I just feel like I'm forcing myself to spend time with her and I'm just losing interest. I feel really bad though... because she really likes me."
He looked back at Sora and smiled. "And I already know what speech your going to lay on me so just save some breath. I shouldn't do anything that I don't want to and I'm dragging her out anymore. I'm going to talk to her though... and maybe we can work on our relationship a bit more so we can both be happy together again..."
"H-Hey I just hit on you again come on now!" No shit... I hope you think I'm smarter than that. Fuu frowned as she turned the corner and Aqua had caught up. Great... now she's following me. What the hell does she want anyway? A date?
"Not even a blush?!" Why would I blush to such a cheap shot? Do most girls blush at something that pathetically drawn up remark? Do I LOOK like every other girl? Is it because I'm an orphan that people think I'm easily drawn to any kind of attention? I wish Raijin was here...
The red eyes flashed up into the blue, her face lot amused and annoyed. "Nothing."
Ida frowned at the request... knowing that whatever Yuna had to say... wasn't going to be good if she couldn't say it.... Her face grew more pale but she followed her husband's lead before suddenly jumping at her son's sudden outbursts. Ven even jumped as well. The blonde stood up and went to Terra's side... as if backing him up.
Yuna frowned as she looked down at the file. "I'm sorry Terra... Dr. Riri and I have discussed the best way to deliver the test results... and we found it better for you to hear it from your parents than ourselves." She bowed before leaving. Ida looked back at her son and smiled. "It's alright Terra..." She slowly started after her husband and they were gone.
"That's bullshit." Ventus crossed his arms and growled.
Yuna walked to her office that was across from the receptionist and sat down at her desk while Ida and Hatori sat down in front of it. Riri closed the door and Yuna sighed. "I'm afraid... I have some bad news..." Ida's eyes widened, her hand clenching on her husband as she bit her lip.

Roxas laughed as well, his cheeks pinkening a little at the explanation. He wondered if Axel was just making stuff up to sound cool. He really wouldn't put it past the red-head.
"You're a strange guy Axel." Roxas said as he was helped to his feet and the two wobbled over to a break in the wall so they could get in the rink. The two paused at the edge, and the blond grabbed at the wall, looking down at the ice quietly for a moment much like an apprehensive child.
He hadn't been skating in while...
"Um so! You wanna go first?" Roxas asked, laughing to hide his sudden nervousness. He was NOT scared of frozen water and looking like a fool. Certainly not!
"Maybe... we should break up." Yes do it!! Sora mentally cheered.
"I shouldn't do anything that I don't want to" Yeah, yeah that was a good speech of his that he hadn't even had to say!
"I'm going to talk to her though... and maybe we can work on our relationship a bit more so we can both be happy together again..." Wait... what?! No damn it!
"Heh, good idea..." Sora said softly, laying back down onto the floor, trying not to let his disappointment shine through as he reached up and pet Halo. "Hope it works out for you two."
Aqua opened her mouth looking like she was about to argue - She was obviously NOT fine - then paused and looked down an aisle suddenly, something obviously catching her attention. There was a pause then Aqua glanced back. She was actually looked REALLY pissed. "Alright then. Have fun shopping."
She broke away from Fuujin, much to the silverette's relief, and hurried down the bread aisle grabbing a pre-sliced loaf and disappeared around the other side.
Fuujin most likely thought that was the end of that encounter and continued on her way picking up a few other little things she needed and setting them in her basket. Soon she had gotten in line, rather long due to the fact that not enough tellers were open and it was just that time of day.
And found her encounter was not over.
Just as the line moved forward and Fuujin was about to do so as well, a familiar bluette cut in front of her. She looked about ready to snap at her, but Aqua only smiled and held out something that was in the flat of her hands. Fuujin looked down at it.
It was a slice of bread, precisely cut in the shape of a heart. And on it, written in mustard and ketchup, were two words: Be Mine? To finish it off at the tip of the heart was a little Hershey's kiss that was encircled by another, smaller heart, half in ketchup and half in mustard.
Terra huffed nodding to his mother as she left. What did Yuna think he was? A fucking weakling?! "The whole medical fucking world is bullshit." Terra hissed unhappily. How did it make more sense to make his mom and dad tell him - it was obviously NOT good news, how are they supposed to break it to him?! He growled looking away to glare at the wall. But deep inside in heart... he was scared. "Do I look like a fucking two-year old?!"
The Tellus couple reached the office quickly enough. Hatori sat down with his wife, placing his hand over hers for comfort while Dr. Riri went and joined Yuna's side, her face grim and sad.
"Yes well you made that fairly obvious Yuna. Just tell us what the fuck is wrong with him." Hatori said, not bothering to sugarcoat his words.

Green eyes looked down as well... but not on the ice, but on Roxas. He couldn't help but grinned as he heard the nervous laugh. He kinda knew it pretty well seeing that him and Reno had done it quite a bit.
AND HELL NO WAS HE TRYING TO SOUND COOL. He was just natural that awesome.
He laughed and nodded and he stepped out and wobbled a little bit before skating off slowly. "Come on! The ice is nice!" He called as he turned and skated backwards while motioning Roxas to come.
Riku grinned as he watched Sora at the corner of his eye. "That didn't sound all that reassuring Sora." The silverette teased. He knew Sora had that crush on him... but even if he dumped Kairi...
Before he could think more, there was a call from the kitchen. "Alright boys! Dinner time!" Riku gave Sora a soft smile before getting up, Halo jumping off as he patted his pants from fur. He bunched the fur on the brush and threw it away before heading to the living room for some grub.
Fuu sighed in relief as Aqua left. Finally... at least she got the idea quicker than some. Maybe she's not all too pathetic... She turned the corner and grabbed some peanut butter along with some jam, some cherries and some spices.
When she was done, she headed for the checkouts. Are you serious!? Her eye widened as she saw the lines. Why do they only open a few registers when they know it's going to be busy at this time? She sighed before going to the express lane. She kept her head low, not wanting to draw anyone's attention. If someone wasn't looking at her because of her looks, it was because of her eye patch.
She couldn't believe that some brats came up to her asking if she wanted to be a pirate. She scared them off with lifting the patch and going 'Boo!'. That always made Seifer laugh. Seifer... They're break-up.... didn't go too well. She knew he was lying that he just didn't want to have the resposibility of a relationship anymore... not like he did much anyway... because ever since then, when she did see him... he was either alone.... or with that Olette bitch.
She shook it off when the line started to move and she was about to move up as well.... WHEN SOMEONE CUT HER!? AND OF ALL PEOPLE! She growled as Aqua turned and was about to snap at her when she got something shoved in her face. Her eye widened as she leaned back, looking down at the............breaderpiece.
Quite honestly... she was speechless... because she didn't know if she should be flattered.... or grossed out. This had to be the.... weirdest way that anyone asked her out... besides that one kid that was too scared of her.... which made no sense whatsoever.
A red eye slowly rolled up to meet the blue. "I hope you're not expecting me to eat that..." A small smile appeared.
Ventus frowned, a little... scared too. He frowned even more though as he heard Terra, looking over to see that pissed off, kiddish look. He walked over and smiled, leaning down and ruffled the brown hair. "I think you look too told to wear diapers to me~~~" He teased before leaning down more and catching Terra's lips with his own.
Ida's watery eyes shot towards her husband. "Hatori..." She choked in a scolding away before looking back at Yuna who seemed to be use to this already.
Yuna nodded to Riri, who in which turned on a light board on the wall and put up some pictures. Yuna turned in her chair and pulled out a pointer. "Well, you see... when the samples came back, I studied them personally...and what I found... was this." She circled a group of little things. "They're.... cancer cells."
Ida's eyes widened as tears rushed to her eyes. Her baby.... had cancer!? She raised her free hand to her mouth as she shook her heard, tears rolling down her fingers.

Roxas smiled and shook his head. "Show off." He mumbled before carefully placing his foot on the ice feeling it slip easily. He sighed before pushing off with his other foot, spreading out his arms as his body wobbled. "Ax-EL!" The blond yelped as he got to the red-head grabbing onto him - unfortunately their skates hit and just like they had in dance class time and time again, they fell.
Oh yeah, he was definitely out of practice.
Sora just smiled innocently and shrugged. Who him? No he was the most reassuring person in the world! He blinked however as he heard his mom's call. "Okay!" He sat up Halo in his glossy brushed coat excitedly getting up and running into the kitchen. Sora laughed and while Riku was taking care of the brush, the brunette went to the pantry and got out a cupful of food for Halo. He found it was more effective to feed Halo when they were eating as well - that way she didn't sit at the table and beg.
The food rang loudly as it was poured in the metal dish that was nearby where Sora sat at the dining table. He checked the water before going to the fridge and taking out a bowl full of chicken broth. He went back over to his pup and poured a spoonful or two over the dry food.
Halo barked excitedly at the treat, her master was so good to her!, and dug in while the brunette put the bowl back into the fridge for another day. He got a drink for his self and Riku and joined the others at the dinner table, handing it over to the silverette with a smile.
Aqua grinned some, hearing for the first time, a real sentence from the silverette. Ah, she finally figured out what it took to make her talk! It only took about seven pieces of bread to get it 'just' right (she felt bad for whoever had to clean aisle 2...)
"No, but I would like an answer." The blue-haired woman said back, smiling some.
Terra looked towards the blond when he came close, smiling some as he felt the fingers hair. He shut his eyes slowly as their lips met and he tilted his head up, kissing back lightly.
Hatori watched the pictures come up, not recognizing what they were even as she circled some things. It became real clear real fast thought. "They're.... cancer cells." "Holy fuck..." Hatori whispered. He looked towards his wife, and then leaned over, drawing his other arm around her and bringing her close. "Shhh... It's okay...."
He looked towards Yuna. "What can we do?" God please tell him there was something they could do.

Axel blinked as Roxas came at him like a little kid, all wobbly and his legs not moving an inch. He couldn't help but laugh as he reached out to catch Roxas.... but unfortunately those big feet clipped onto his skates and no matter how much of an expert one was, not one could of stand a chance.
The two fell over, some people passing them and chuckling. The ice was hard... and hurt a bit... BUT DAMN DID IT FEEL GOOD ON HIS BURNT BUTT! All he could do was burst out laughing and ruffled Roxas's hair. "I thought you said you knew how to skate! Not to crash!" He teased before trying to pull out of the mingle. He got up and wobbled a bit before reaching down for Roxas and helping him up with both hands.
He managed to get Roxas standing and he held both of the blonde's hands as he stood in front of him. "I'll help you get your knack back~~" He slowly started to skate backwards, pulling Roxas along.
Fuu looked back down at the bread before letting out an odd laugh sigh. "Alright." She nodded before looking back at Aqua.
Ven smiled as he pulled away and laid his head next to Terra's. "When you get out of here... you know you're going to have to help me with my GED homework~~"
Yuna looked back at the family and smiled slightly. "Actually... that was the worse news. I'm happy that I found out that this cancer... is actually a curable one. Terra's type of cancer is called Hodgkin's disease. Hodgkin's disease is an uncommon lymphoma. The lymphatic system is part of the body's immune system. It helps the body fight disease and infection. This is why Terra has been getting such bad fevers. Of course he didn't have this when he was a child, he just had a weak immune system back then... but because of the weak immune system, he was subject to this uncommon lymphoma."
She pulled out some papers in her file and smiled. "The only reason why no one detected this earlier is because 1 percent of all cases of this cancer is found in this country. When I saw the cancer cells, I looked up all the cancers and this one seemed right because of Terra's symptoms. He had Symptoms of Hodgkin's disease may include the following; painless swelling in the lymph nodes in the neck, underarm, his unexplained recurrent fevers, and his night sweats. I had a small operation done to collect lymphatic tissue from him to confirm my diagnosis."
She looked at Riri and smiled. "Dr. Riri helped with figuring out the stage of cancer and researched on what we can do to get rid of it. She has also devised a plan to cure Terra of this cancer for good." Yuna handed two papers out, one for Ida and one for Hatori. "The only way to destroy this cancer at this stage is radiation therapy. There are many ways Terra can be treated but I agreed with Dr. Riri that the quickest way would be best for Terra due to his weak immune system."
She leaned back in her chair and smiled more. "We'd like to operate on him one last time and go with internal radiation therapy. We'll implant a small container of radioactive material near the cancer cells. It will only take three days for the cancer to completely vanish. However, it is the quickest way but because the level of radiation is highest during the hospital stay, Terra may not be able to have visitors or may have visitors only for a short time. Once an implant is removed, there is no radioactivity in the body. The amount of radiation in a permanent implant goes down to a safe level before Terra leaves the hospital."
She leaned back over her desk and sighed. "And of course... there are some side effects... With radiation therapy, the side effects depend on the treatment dose and the part of the body that is treated. The most common side effects are tiredness, skin reactions; such as a rash or redness, permanent pigmentation, and scarring, in the treated area, and loss of appetite. Unfortunately, radiation therapy can also cause a decrease in the number of white blood cells, cells that help protect the body against infection. Although the side effects of radiation therapy can be unpleasant, they can usually be treated or controlled. It also helps to know that, in most cases, they are not permanent."
