she looked down at the blade. "you...you mean For Ones with Hearts is my weapon now?" such a holy blade. How could Duo just let a girl use it? She shook her head and looked at Dac. "I can't use this. It's not my weapon. It only responds to Duo and Lumi. I can't use the blade." she handed it to him to see his reaction. Such a holy blade. why did it choose her for a new master?

Dac shook his head and pushed the blade back into her hands. "no. it's yours now. it chose you to be it's wielder. and you cannot turn it down. i will explain more once we get down the road a bit. but for now, just know that you must face forward and accept your destiny."

She looked at the blade and turned it so it shined. suddenly she saw a shadow in the blades reflection. she gasped and looked away. what was that? she looked around and slowly put the blade in her sheath. "I thought you knew my name. I'm Mirray. My real name is Miranda though." she smiled as she followed the man outside. she couldn't believe that she was really going to leave TriBalamb. She was afraid but ready.

Dac didn't hear her at first. he was thinking about his past. when he was learning to use the Lunato Mercury. "huh? oh! what would you prefer to be called? Mirray or Miranda? better tell me now before i get used to calling you something else." just then, he remembered that he needed to check in with Duo. he turned abrubtly at the next corner.

"Mirray will be fine." she smiled. she noticed that Dac was headed towards Duo's home. she swallowed. no SeeD was aloud near the house. she walked close to dac. "Why are we going her exactly? I don't want him to see me with his blade."

he laughed. "don't worry. he was there when you claimed it, remember?" he knocked on the door. it was starting to get dark and he wanted to leave before lock down. "he gave me his full support in finding you. he knew exactly what that entailed. besides, i think he's happy to be rid of it." he finished his sentence right as the door opened and Lumi appeared. "ah, Lady Lumi." he bowed with due respect. "we need to check in with your husband the resident knight. we wish to leave as soon as possible."

Lumi smiled and opened the door wider to let them bothin. she smiled and nodded at Mirray. "come in my dear." As mirray walked in she looked around the small house. she thought that Duo and Lumi would live in a large mansion of some sort, not such a small house like this. she looked at the badroom where keoni slept. "where is keoni, lady lumi?" Lumi shrugged. "he wished to play outside and he hasn't gotten home yet. The boy is putting so much stress on my shoulders." she then led Dac and mirray to the living room where Duo was. "Duo, Dac and Mirray are here to grant their last respects."

Duo looked up from his task. "ah, come in. come in. about to leave are you?" Dac bowed to the knight before answering. "yes. as you already knew, young Mirray here has claimed the For Ones With Hearts. so, we depart for her training." "of course. it takes disipline to become a ranger." "indeed. we must leave as soon as possible i'm afraid, so i came to check out." Duo scoffed. "you are free to go anytime. but there is a question i would like to ask my former student." he turned to Mirray. "take care of my old sword, would you?"

Mirray bowed. "yes, ofcourse sir. I'll take care of it with all my heart." she blinked and looked up again. For such a sacride weapon, Mirray still questioned why Duo would give it away. It was a gift from Lumi as a child. Wouldn't he want to keep it? she looked over at Lumi but Lumi looked away and walked into the kitchen. Something was wrong. Terribly wrong. She saw a shadow in the blades reflection. Was it an evil force?

the room fell silent for a few moments. "well, if that is all, we will take our leave from this city." "alright. good luck with your training Mirray!" a few minutes later, they were outside the city. Dac always felt more at home out in the open like this. his pace slowed as he began to relax. "ah, yes. your sword. fisrt of all, as you may have guessed, it is no ordinary sword. neither is my Lunato Mercury for that matter. weapons like yours and mine are called "living weapons". they are called so because the owner forms a special bond with it. they can hear it speak to them, and it allows them to become a better warrior. but each one is different. and different living weapons have different special unique powers. my weapon can hide it's true nature from the world until called." he held his staff in the air and a long, curved blade slowly appeared at the end. "you see? and i can also use it to travel instantaniously between worlds. but that takes a lot of energy to pull off, so i hardly ever use that function."

"but what about his blade? what can it do? you must know." she took it out and looked at it carefully. a chain was placed at the end with a heart shaped object at the bottom. The blade still showed the shadows of the world around them. This blade had a dark past or maybe will have a dark future. she didn't want to use this blade. it made her feel uncomfortable. she looked over at Dac."what do you know about this blade?"

"nothing." he said flatly. "all living weapons were made over four hundred years ago. and then hidden. some still lay undiscovered even now. as each one is found, the user has to figure out how to wield it. some cannot. so they seal it away again, for someone else to try. Duo is one of those people. he claimed it, but could never utilise it's full potential. so, after he met Lumi, he sealed it back where he found it, and settled in as resident knight of TriBalamb." he lloked down at her as she held the blade solomnly. "the blade will tell you. when the time is right."

She looked at the blade again and frowned. Whould she learn how to use it? they walked into a forest and the blade seemed to ring in her ears. she stopped and took it out again. "It's ringing." suddenly the bushes began to shake and a small bug jumped at her. she swong the blade and cut the creature in two. Then the blades stopped ringing. "I guess that would be a heartless. i don't see how great you rangers are. those things seem like no threat."

"good reflexes! yes, that was a heartless. but don't be fooled. that was just a scout. when they do attack, there will be a great number of them, and they will be a great deal stronger." they watched as the heartless dissolved into a shadow on the ground, then disappeared. "that was a shadow. small and weak. but when they attack for real, they come in swarms. and from every direction." he started down the path again. "there are many different types of heartless. each with a different strength and unique function."
ooc: is your weapon a keyblade? or just a normal looking sword?

Mirray blinked. "I heard that there was a central power to the heartless. A leader if you will. They say that if you take out the central power, all the heartless in the area disappear. Do you supose a central power is around this area?" she looked at the bush where the heartless jumped out from. it seemed to be quiet, no noise or rustling. She looked down the path. "The next town is traverse town. what business do we have there?"
