Dac bowed his head. "if you would be so kind. i would greatly appreciate it. i will follow you in just one moment." he turned back to the knight of TriBalamb. "will you arrange things so that i may inspect your students tomorrow morning? where is the training hall? i must make sure that everything is in order for the weapon." after Duo gave him the directions, Dac followed Lumi to his quaters. he watched her as she walked. he had noticed that she was pregnant, but two children did not wear a woman down so. something traumatic happened to her in life. after he found his quaters and properly thanked Lumi for a wonderful evening, he left for the training hall. he did not expect to be back from his errands until late that night if at all. when he got there, the weapon was already there. still in it's stone prison of course. a very large block of stone seemingly cut from a bigger block. possibly a wall. it had echings in it not even he could read. only the one destined to use it would be able to free it from the stone. they would hear a voice calling to them, then when they touched the stone, it would appear and name itself to it's weilder. it made him think of when he found his weapon. he had the stone block moved to a corner of the room, where he could keep it away from their attention until he wanted them to know about it. by the time he had finished arranging things, it was already dawn. and Duo strolled into the hall. "compliments from my wife!" he said while holding out a cup of coffee. soon after the knight arrived, the students began to appear in the hall across from where the two men were standing.

ooc: ok.  Selfie walked next to Mirray as they entered the hall. the two girls were tired and wasn't exspecting the sudden call from the knight. "I can't believe you dumped irvine. he's been your boyfriend for who knows how long." Selfie cocked her head as she looked at Mirray. She sighed. "it had to happen some day. i just can't trust him anymore." "But he's gonna be the mayor soon. In about another month-" Mirray butted in angrily. "I don't care. I don't want a mayor as a boyfriend. i'll be stuck here for the rest of my life. It was a good move and I'm happy I did so. Now what is this all about?" Slefie shrugged and didn't say much after that.
Keoni walked behind his father, as always. He knew that he's take Duo's place someday. He also knew that his mother was going through a lot. He was worried about her. |

Dac looked around at the students as they gathered in the training hall. there were very few worthy candidates. this discouraged him. only a few stood a chance of claiming the sleeping weapon. the girl from the pub was here. she was the most promising of the lot, and he had high hopes that she would be the one. but often a weapon had chosen the one candidate you would have least expected. he hoped that would not be the case here. after Duo had informed him that all the students were present, he stepped forward to the crowd. they fell silent in anticipation. he spoke to them in the best voice he had. "good morning. my name is Dac. i am a ranger. most if not all of you do not know what a ranger is. a ranger is the one that keeps heartless from destroying the entire world. there are few of us. and we are getting to be fewer. so i have come here to find a suitable person to become a ranger to help those of us that remain." there were some muffled complaints about how the knights protected the cities. he tried to ignore them. he lifted his staff above his head. "this is my weapon. the Lunato Mercury." he pointed to the block harboring the sleeping weapon with his staff. "that block of stone contains a similar weapon. whichever one of you can draw the weapon from the reccesses of the stone will become a ranger. don't feel like you have to try. the life of a ranger is hard work. those who wish to try may do so now."

Mirray frowned. "what is this? the sorceror and the stone?" she whispered to Selfie. selfie chuckled. "well i'm leaving, i want to be a balamb SeeD. She left, leaving Mirray by herself. She walked up to the stone with about a dozon other. most 75% of the rest left and complained about our knight. she looked up and then back at Dac. "So how do you get this thing out?"

Dac was very glad that she stayed. even if it chose her, if she didn't want to do it, she would not do it. "it will call to you. then, you will know what to do."

she walked towards it as the other tried to pry it from the stone. she looked at it and knew that it would come out from force. she closed her eyes and thought. A weapon is either supost to kill or supost to keep peace. A heatless has no heart so the weapon will bring peace. force will not take out the weapon. Peace? what is the symbol? peace and love? a heart?
she walked up to the object that held the weapon and the others stood back. some gave up and left. she placed her ahnd on the object. "The weapon holds a heart. a heart that once help peace."
A large light flashed and a blade sat in Mirray's hand. the blade had a chain on the handle with a heart at the end. It was the symbol fo Tribalamb. This legendary sword was know as For Ones with Hearts.
She turned and held up the blade. "Is this what you were looking for?"

Dac was extremely pleased that she was able to claim the weapon. "yes, that is exactly what i was looking for. well done Mirray." the other students just stared in utter shock as she held the blade in her hands. he turned to them and said. "alright, you can go now. that's all." as they left, he turned to the knight who was also in shock. "thank you very much for your help in arranging this Sir Duo. but i request that miss Mirray and i have some time alone." he was in awe at what had happened. "yes, of course. take as much time as you need. i will be at my house. i hope that you will stop by before you take your leave." "of course. i always check in with the resident knight before i leave. esspecially when i'm taking someone with me." the two laughed and the knight departed. he turned back to Mirray. "so, Mirray. i'll be your partner from now on. feel free to ask questions. you must have a million of them." he smiled slightly.ooc: thank you. sorry again to push you. but i get a little obsessive about things sometimes.

Mirray looked at him in total shock. "leave? I've never been beyond the city's walls." She placed the blade down on it's respected plack and looked up at Dac. He was still a stranger to her and she didn't feel a bit safe. She really didn't want to leave at this moment for the sake of Lumi. there was something wrong with the noble wife of the night and everyone in the city was concerned even though lumi said that she was ok. Mirray looked around and sighed. "When are we going to leave? Will i have time to say good-bye to my friends?" she didn't want to leave selfie without saying good bye. It wasn't like her to do that. She sighed once more. I supose i should say good-bye to Irvine...

"yes, yes. you'll have time to do all that. i wouldn't want you to get distracted on the battlefield while thinking whether your friends miss you or not." she looked very unhappy. "what's the matter?"

"Nothing." she bowed and started walking off. "i'll be in the SeeD section of town when you wist to leave. you can pick me up there." she walked back to her home. on the way there, she looked at everything for the last time. Everything looked so welcoming and didn't want her to leave. the city people looked at her in shock. "i guess word travels fast." she said to herself. the kids even looked at her and frowned. they'd miss her as well. she always gave out candy every friday evening to them. She sighed as she walked up her street. all the SeeD students had returned to their homes. there was no school today so many might have went back to bed. she opened the door to her apartment and looked around. Selfie wasn't there. she frowned and walked into the bedroom. there sat irvine. he was looking down at the ground. "i guess this is good bye..."

as Dac watched her leave, he thought that maybe this kind of search was unfair. but it was too late. she had claimed the sword and the damage was done. he looked back at the sword which she had left behind. he would have to teach her to never leave a weapon like that lying around. but she did not yet comprehend the power of such a weapon, he let it go for now. i'll let her stay until nightfall. then we leave.

she placed her books on the tabe near her bed. she then took out the ponytail and ran the comb through it. it went through her hair like silk. Irvine stood and walked up behind her. "it's dangerous out there. You could get hurt..." she turned away and walked to the mirror."Where's selfie?"
"selfie left us together, to be alone." he smiled slowly but mirray ignored him. "i have things to get." she picked up her backpack and walked out of the room.
She bought a few things to live out in the wild. it took her all day to get what she needed. A sword, a water jug, a knife and a blanket.
When she returned home, Irvine was still there. She frowned and sat on the bad. "You stayed here all day?" he nodded and she sighed. He took of his hat and threw it across the room. "i'm gonna miss you miranda. you might not come back." he looked at her sadly. she glanced at him and smiled."i'll be fine." she reached back and pulled the string from his ponytail. His long brown hair fell over his shoulders. He sighed and pushed it behind his ears. She leaned over and kissed him. he kissed back and grabbed her gently.
Suddenly a bang broke their kiss. "Mirray?"

Mirray stood up and grabbed her sword. she looked down at Irvine and smiled. "I'll be back some day." she then turned and opened the door. Dac stood there. She blinked and sighed. "I'm ready. I'm not afraid." she slightly smiled and tried to look brave.

ooc: im sorry. i was too excited to think of anything.
he started down the hall. "don't be a fool. only idiots aren't afraid. fear is what keeps you going. but don't let it over power your senses. you must learn to control it." he looked down at the new sword in her hand. he snatched it away from her. "you won't be needing this. you have the weapon remember? here." he thrust her weapon into her hands. "never leave this anywhere ever again. if you lose this, your life is over. by the way, what was it's name? surely it identified itself to you when you claimed it."
