Mos looked down at the chocobo and blinked. "Oh... well... honestly I don't know how I did it." he blushed a bit as he leaned more onto his friend. He was really going to miss Reshi when he was gone. He'll be so jealous.... "SHIT!" He sat up and frowned. "I forgot got buy us more cereal."
Shiro leaned back on Amber, rubbing his hair a bit and yawned. Today was a busy and if Arn was out, that meant all was well.

Reshi burst into laughter, falling over on the bed. "haha you and that damn cereal!"
Amber smiled, thinking the exact same thing.
~~~
Yips filled the house, padded feet racing across the hard wooden floors, the lack of friction sending the young fox pup sliding across it and tumbling into a couch. He panted quickly, barking with excitement, jumping up again, his sharp nails grooving into and permenently damging the wood.
"Blaze calm yourself!"
The kitsune just barked at Reshi loping around him with excitement. He was the second born of his siblings and by far the most hyper. His barks [ratically scream 'hunting night, hunting night!' His mother and father were taking them out again for another lesson, he couldn't wait!
A timid, small fox stumbled from the room, her fur was a deep red and her walk much more cautious. her tail twitched and she walked to Reshi's side. The male leant down, petting her. "Heya Suki, don't be nervous." He knew though that the forest was getting more crowded with not only prey... but predators. "just don;t stray from your parents and youll do fine."
the fox purred, her tail thumping.
Blaze growled, crouching down, looking ready to start a fight with his smaller and weaker sister. Not maliciously, it was just the hunting days had always made him overly excited.
"Blaze." Reshi warned.
The fox kit scoffed, sitting down, proudly showing of his nearly golden fur. it was a beautiful golden red that reflected the moon.
Reshi groaned, picking up Suki and sitting her down next to her brother, making them stay in a row. The two kits where the first of Amber's three. Total opposites. They weren;t even first-years yet. they only qualified as about five years olds as humans.
Suki thumped her tail at Reshi, yipping faintly before looking around. Where was their sister?
Amber stretched out on the bed, licking hber fur before jumping from the bed. It was close to time now. the moon was up and half full. Good conditions for a hunt.
Mera (their other sister) was upstairs, stretched out on Shiro's bed. His bed was so comfortable. She was the darkest of the kits, her fur border lining brown. She was the more relaxed kit during the day but at night, and hunting night of course, she was usually one of the best hunters.
She was not hyper, nor timid. A perfect middle. So... she wasn't bouncing off the walls over hunting night and she wasn't a ball in the corner over hunting night. When she was called, she would come down and get ready. She just sighed and watched her oldest brother walk about the room.
Shiro... didn't pay too much attention to the pups because.... he was always busy. He was now seventeen, his birthday just being a few days ago. As quickly as he learned, as quickly did he mature. He now dressed and washed himself in the bath, needing no help. He did his homework the minute he came home and read for the rest of the night.
Yes, read. Reshi was able to get a library of braille books for the boy in Midgar. The boy like politics and science, reading all there was to know about Hoji and ShinRa.
But no one dared told him exactly where HE came from.
Mos and Amber were prepared to tell Shiro a story they came up together about him being adopted, but... strangely enough, he never asked. And strangely enough, he still refused to walk around with a walking stick. He now allowed doctors to do check-ups on him and some CAT scans that his teacher insisted on. Amber was a bit confused on what this CAT was...
The scans showed that Shiro was highly intelligent, too intelligent for his own age. He also made a system in his head to keep 'maps' of all the areas he had been too so he'd know exactly where everything is. In other words, he taught himself how to 'see' by mathematics and senses. If he knew how to do this at the age of 17, who knew what he was capable of in the future.
As for appearance wise, the metal band still was melted into the back of his neck, that he tarnished every once in awhile so the rust wouldn't sting or itch. They had yet to find out what it was for or what it meant. Only ShinRa would know... He had straight, bleach blonde hair that covered his ears. His eyes... looked much better. Flesh had grown over the black stitches and his scars had faded out. However, he still had hankering just to open his eyes... even after thirteen years of them being sewn to his skin. Instead of a cloth around his eyes, he wore sunglasses like most blind people... but his weren't your normal. He had 'stylish' glasses.... so no one could look at him and first thought would be 'Oh, he's blind.' That was the last thing he wanted people to know about him. As for clothes, he always dressed professionally. A dress shirt, a lab coat, a tie and a nice pair of denim jeans.
At first, the teen was worried about his siblings when they were first born. He kept claiming that they would die... which made EVERYONE upset... but they found out that it was just something he remembered from the days being back in that room. He was scared that they would end up like that... but they insured him that these kids were going to live... and long.
Shiro could tell each kit by the sound of their yip and by the felling of their ears. All three had slightly different ears that only a blind person could probably pick up by touch. He knew Mera was the one on his bed, she was the only one of his siblings that liked to lay there and watch him. He didn't like it at first, but after awhile he got use to it.
Mero picked up her ears as he placed a suitcase on the bed. So it was true? Shiro was going somewhere for vacation? Her brother didn't have 'vacation' very often from school. It was two days out of 9 months of schooling. But... that was what he got for taking all AP courses in school.
A spare set of clothes were placed into the suitcase along with two automatic guns, a tooth brush, some soap, a book and some other items that she wasn't sure what were. By the packing of guns, she knew that Shiro would be spending the two days with Reshi. Mero seemed to be the only one in the house who knew that Shiro had these human weapons... besides Reshi.
The teen closed the suitcase and reached out towards Mera. The fox yipped as she head butted his hand and was pet softly. "See you later sis..." He took the handle and walked out of the room. He could hear his other siblings downstairs as he walked down the stairway.
As for Mos... well... he was laying down on the back porch in his hamick, rocking back and forth in the evening. A cigarette was in his mouth as he dosed off but woke up again and spat it out before going inside.
He laughed as he heard the hug commotion. "Alright, Alright! Calm down!" He laughed and he roughed up his kits fur. Not the dad of the ear, but the best and only dad they had. He looked up at Reshi and smiled then heard Shiro come down the stairs. "You guys going to Midgar again for a chess competition?"
Chess? That was what they had said when they left out to Midgar. He never thought Reshi would be into something like that... but Reshi still surprised him.
Shiro walked over to them and stopped, holding his suitcase. That... grin-smile on his face. "Yea.... I can't wait to play 'chess' again."
Mos gave his now old son a dull look. "Yeaaaaaaaaa.... well, Reshi, take good care of him ok? And Shiro, don't kicks his ass too badly.
Blaze growled at the roughing squirming under the touch and looking ready to race around again.
Suki only allowed her father to do what he wished, purring slightly.
Reshi crossed his arms, grinning. "of course." there was a pause, then, "heeey he won;t kick my ass!" He stiomped his foot making the two fox kits yelp and back up.
Blaze gave another bark, racing over to his older brother, skipping around him as he often did. He and the other weren;t exactly... CLOSE per say. But they 'got along'. Though Amber taught them mostly about the world of the animals and their father taught them of the humans life. and Reshi... played with them. a lot. But Shiro was another person altogether. a huamn yet a brother. it had taken him many lessons to understand how one not of his blood could be a brother...
Suki yipped softly towards Shiro, offering her farewell. She liked her brother. he could always tell when it was her stumbling up the stairs, he always sidestepped her instead of tripping. Unlike Reshi, who HAD eyes, Shiro had never once stepped on her tail. she appreciated that. She didn;t nderstand everything he did - like the lessons and the schooling. Shiro had tried to explain, but she was still young and too little to grasp the coincepts.
Amber padded down the stairs, giving a sharp bark. The two kits quickly lined up, and Mera was quick to follow the call. She padded next to Shiro nuzzling his side as a farewell. She knew he would return soon, would inform her of his trip and the excitement he and Reshi went through, and she would listen and sometimes still struggle to understand. Though she had ten years of human schooling behind her, she still did not grasp everything.
Chess was one of the things she had yet to be taught. She did not know how well she would do at a 'board' game though. she perfered playing games of chase or racing.
Blaze yipped impatiently, snapping towards his sister's ears.
Suki barked batting him away. Just because he was the biggest didn;t mean he had to be a bully! Being the boy made him love to roughhouse, he loved play-fighting with his sister or father or mother and, when eh was younger, used to try with Shiro or Reshi but he quickly found out humans did not like such games.
Blaze was the proudest of the three and the biggest, she was the timid runt and Mera was the nice and even female. When out hunting they were always a strange combination, and their mother had to snap at Blaze to calm down and let his sisters try, had to push Sukki into the scents to get her to hunt and typically only watched out for Mera when the pup demanded help.
Reshi meanwhile, smirked a bit, glancing back at Shiro. It was that time again. Oh yes 'chess' would be fun indeed. He didn;t know why Shiro had gotten so attached to him, maybe he just knew how to raise kids... Over the years, wheil the fox parents were raising the kits, the two had become closer.
Meanwhile, while the ktis were being weaned, Reshi become a bit of dominant factor with the pups. though he was playful with them, he demanded to be lsitened to, and when he demanded it, he got it. the three pups knew not to mess with the adrenline-whored human when he was serious.
They knew never to mess with their dad either. He could be scary.
Mos laughed a bit and shook his head. "Come on... I know my boy is pretty damn smart... I'm sure he can kick your ass." At first, Mos was alright with this chess playing. He just found it strange that they didn't even OWN a chess set nor could Shiro SEE the board... but Shiro explained that they had a chess set at the school and that Reshi and the other players called their move. He didn't HAVE to see."
And like a dumbass.... Mos bought it.
Shiro jumped a bit as he heard the barking and yip of his brother. His smile continued as he reached down and pet his brother, and soon his sister. "Good bye you too... good luck tonight." He didn't understand why they were.... foxes or why they went out hunting... but seeing that he was raised like this, it never phased him. A larger smile appeared on his face as he felt the nudge of the third fox. A larger one.
"Good bye mom." He said softly as he knelt down and pet her. "I'll see you in two more days. You be careful too. I'll bring you something back from Midgar..."
Mera walked over to her brother as well and nudged him, only to get his hand as well on her head.
Shiro stood and Mera sat next to her brother, calm and waiting for her mother and father to lead them into the forest. She wondered what she could catch tonight...
Shiro grinned as he 'looked' towards and Reshi and followed him out of the door towards the man's car. He walked to where Reshi usually parked, feeling around a bit until his hand reached the truck's side. He ran it all the way down till he felt the handle and pulled the door open, getting in. When the door closed, he fixed the collars on his shirt, the smile still on his face.
It was quite easy to figure out why he and Reshi got along so well... and it was all linked to 'Chess'. They started playing about a year ago... 'Chess' was no board game. 'Chess' was an abandoned building, a few miles outside of Midgar, three floor high and full of bullet holes and shells.... from them. There was nothing more fun to adrenalin whores than running around an abandoned building...... shooting the Hell at each other....
Amber offered a purr towards her eldest son, watching him leave the house.
"See you guys soon!" Reshi said excitedly, saluted towards the foxes before trooping out with Shiro, a different type of a grin coming over his face. Exctiement made his heart beat, even though they were even NEAR by close enough. He loved 'chess'.
He hopped into the car, starting it up. And soon they were driving away.
Blaze broke line,. jumping onto the couch and up top to stare out the window. he barked happily, throwing his ehad back to howl. but it came out as more of a squeak. he was still to young to make that noise.
Suki gave a barking laugh at the pathetic attempt, but one growl from Amber had her shutting up and Blaze racing back to his spot in line, tail thumping with excitement, muscles tense and ready to run outside.
Amber spared Mos a curious glance, before looking over her three children. nervous, excited, and calm. It would never change.
She gave a soft yip and began to pad towards the door. it was time.
Blaze followed her first, Mera second and timid Suki last.
Shiro was quite calm in his seat as the truck drove away. He only held that grin-smile of his he had since they fixed him up as a kid. He slowly leaned his elbow on the window, his head leaning on his hand. "We need to stop from ammunition... I ran out from last year and wasn't able to get anymore."
Mos waved as they drove away. He was always curious... why the HELL was Reshi so excited to drive off so fast? Chess was NOT that exciting... especially from someone like Reshi. And seeing that it took half a day to get to Midgar and half a day back, they were only able to stay there for a day. His son spent his whole two day vacation to do a one day thing?
He seriously have to sit down with Reshi when they came back and have a chat.... but for now, he was needed.
"Alright you creeps..." he joked as he walked out at the end of the line... but he was no longer human as he left the house. He closed the door with his snout and breathed in the fresh air. 'Arn' was out... so Amber would feel better than last hunting night.
"alright," Reshi chirped excitedly. "that's easy enough." He grinned, his toes practically curling.
Amber smiled up at the moon, as it guided her path to the forest. three young pups followed after, silent yet aware. Mos trekked in the back of the pack. She took a whiff of the air. the day had been dry - good it made scenting conditions perfect. the scents both old and news were strewn into the ground.
Once they reached the clearing the forest, a small alcove devoid of trees except one lonely stump and a log, Amber jumped on the stump, turning to face her pups. she cgave a commanding bark.
Blaze gave a yip, auttomatically recognizing the signal. je sniffed at the air and the floor quickly, looking for a fresh scent.
Suki slowly began to look for her prey as well.
Amber watched her two ktis, then looked towards Mos. they only supervised these excursions to keep their children from the dangerous predators - of which in this forest there were quite a few. most had mako enhancements, making them almost impossible to go up against. However, she had grown accuatomed to these scents and so had the kits, they knew whoich ones to follow, which ones were prey and which were predators.
Blaze gave an excited yip. he had a scent!
Shiro just shook his head as he 'looked' down at the floor. He was taught in school to 'look' at someone when they were talking to you. This way, he could hide the fact that he was blind as well. It was going to be a long trip... but probably well worth it....
At the command, Mera started to sniff around too. He tried to sat far away from her siblings so they wouldn't get the same scent. She... honestly wasn't much into hunting. Actually, she was more interested in the human world... but she wouldn't let her mother know this... She too yipped as she found and scent and started to follow it.
Mos just sat next to her and looked around with his good eye. He looked up at Amber slightly then at Blaze and Mera as they found a scent.
Reshi laughed. "Don;t look so down. this is going to be exciting!" He wondered what type of morals he was breaking by shooting a gun at his son... What would the public think? Oh wouldn't THAT be entertaining.
Amber waited as Suki took her time, walking around in circles, pretending to look. the fox gave a sharp bark and the little fox kit jumped, and began to sniff for a real scent. Moments later the timid bark of affirmation came back.
The fox looked from one kit to the next then howled, telling them to go.
Blaze practically BOUNDED into the forest, racing through the brnaches after his scent.
Suki, going a lot slowler, trotted after hers. it was rare she ever brought anything back. she just didn;t like trying.
Amber kept her ears open for her children - if anything went wrong in the hunt there pups would give a yelp for help.
Shiro 'looked' up him and grew his grin-smile back with a nod. "I just don't like how it's so far." Instead of one day full of rush, he wanted two. He was only able to do this once a year... "I hope mom and dad never find out... I told Mera to keep her mouth shut about it in return to keeping my mouth shut about her wanting to be a human." He leaned back on the chair and put his feet up on th dashboard. This truck was so old anyway...
Mos just watched, still not getting it and found it more boring than anything... but he was on guard a long with Amber. If he heard even a desperate squeak from a kit, he would be there in a flash.
Mera too quickly went after the scent. It was... a stray....dog? That was a bit bigger than she would of wanted, but it was a challenge. She loved challenges. She ran fast through the woods and over logs and through bushes. It didn't seem very far away from her...
Reshi chuckled a bit. "You know it;s not really keeping a secret when you tell me is it?" He laughed silently. Mera was a different type of a jakku, she was more like her father then her mother. The human influences were not helping her either. But that was okay, to him her acting like a human was jsut as natural as tyring to be a jakku.
He just didn;'t know how her mother would take it. "Mos probably won;t give a damn, but Amber..." he shrugged.
Suki was following an old scent of a rat. she wasn;t really trying, nor looking for a new fresher scent. she didn;t care to find food. She could just eat whatever her siblings caught - even if she got last choice.
Blaze was dashing after his choice. He was after a springhare - quick little things but fun to chase. and it was a fresh scent.
The teen 'looked' up at Reshi with the grin-smile. "Well, I hope you don't squeal either." He sighed softly as he 'looked' away. They needed to find a quicker transportation than truck and underground train. "You need a plane Reshi..."
Mos yawned as he laid down and swatted his tale at some bugs on the ground. He didn't know he just couldn't sit there and smoke in his human form. He was seriously pussy whipped.... without having a choice.
Mera continued to follow the fresh scent until she noticed a dog sniffing around a tree. She grew low on his hind legs as she just watched.
Around the area that Suki was, the rat was long gone dead.... and the predator was long done cleaning his bloody jaws. Silver ears stood though as his nose picked up on some other animal. A fox? The silver head perked up as he listened. Since when were there foxes around this area? Then again.... he was far from home as well.... The silver wolf wagged his tail before sniffing the air again. Yea... that was defiantly fox... A low growl arose as he finally was able to see the pathetic excuse of hunting. What was wrong with her?
"A plane?" Reshi repeated, then laughed. "That'd be pretty awesome... However i think they're a little pricy."
Amber stretched before laying out across the stump, curling around Mos. her tail thumped up and down as she waited.
The dog walked arpund thetree idly, scratching at it's bark. He was lean and brown coated - a young hound dog. His ears rasied as he heardsomething moving in the bushes, and he looked around, sniffing the air.
Bl;aze was racing after the rabbit still, he could hear the noise of chattering night birds as he past. Owls and what not. He heard a few owls ate foxes...
Suki was paying so little attention to the smells of her surrondings - not really taking care to notice as the scent got fresher and fresher - until she literally stumbled into the wolf's path. her head rasied then, eyes wide as she stared at the other. she gave a terrified bark, turned and sprinted off.
The boy nodded as he settled down into the chair more. At least the truck was comfortable since it had been used so much. "There is a man named Cid who builds his own planes. Maybe he will give you a discount if you tell him that you are fighting against ShinRa too." Shiro pointed out as he moved his finger as he talked.
"Reshi.... is Arn out tonight?" He asked a about 30 minutes later, out of no where. He was always asking Amber if the goddess was out in the sky. How he wished he could see what she looked like... more than anyone else.
Mos picked his head up a bit as she curled around him. He nuzzled her slightly before laying his head over her neck. This was the part of his life that wasn't very exciting... and quite painfully slow. He would grin and bear it though...
Unfortunately, his kits didn't feel like HIS in the first place. He honestly just saw them as... well.... dogs. After nights of laying in bed, he wondered if Jakkus would ever be accepted by humans... so it would be ok if they could walk around in human form. Jakkus WERE half human, half animals.... he didn't see why they ALL had to live their lives like animals.
Amber wouldn't allow the kits be their human form... maybe because they were still weak. Seeing how calm natured Mera was, he could tell that she could handle it... but it was still forbidden at this time. Mos's and Amber's way of raising the kits were clashing.... badly. They will never be accepted if they keep hiding as animals... but if they didn't hide, they could be killed by irate people or even worse.... end up like Shiro as a test subject for ShinRa.
Mera stayed low to the ground as she watched the dog sniff around. her tail laid low and made sure it didn't move a bit. Her eyes were focused on her rather big and unusual prey... but she was sure she could catch him. While he was still sniffing around, she suddenly jumped out, quickly racing at the dogs back, and bit down on a leg.
When the silver wolf was face to face with the young fox, he just snarled and watched the little thing run off. His eyes flashed under Arn, now visible to anyone who knew that these eyes were not normal. They were a light blue and green snuggled close to a black slit.
He sat as he watched the fox run off and soon laid down. There was no need to run after her. She was young, she had to learn... and she'd have a hard time doing that if she was dead or injured. Her scent though was familiar. It reminded him of home. He wondered.... if she was from the Vix clan? But if she was, why on earth was she here?? Better to ask that question to yourself. How did you get so far from the Moon clan?
