The Jakku Forest

[Reno]

Reshi thought over the idea of going to Cid. he doubted the hard-headed rocket-lover would ever give him something so precious. Even though he knew Cid vaguely, if somehting like that was built, Cid was gaurenteed to keep it.

"Reshi glanced at the odd question, then glanced out the window. "Yeah, she;s out." He knew about Arn quite well... Amber loved talking about the goddess. Strong, powerful, beautiful - to the jakkus she was the best of both worlds. a stunning human and she could become every animal you could name - exceling at each.


Amber sighed, purring gently as she waited. she did not know how long it would take her three children to catch their fill - Blaze would no doubt get one - he usually did. Mera was quite good as well but lately Suki had been ignoring her duties, taking her fill from the others and ignoring her hunting.

She knew nothing of what her mate was thinking. If he had brought it up however, no doubt she would have disagreed. Jakkus were meant for the wild, not human life. They were safe there... happy there. Mos just didn;t understand because he hardly lived that life. The humans had ingrained their scent into him...


Blaze heard the hare before he saw it. it sprung from the bushes, suddenly racing down the trail. the fox gave a yip and gave chase, his feet pounding after his catch. he had to get it before he reached the hole!


The dog gave a loud yelp as he was bit, turning his head around and snapping his teeth down on the creature attacking him.


Suki panted as she raced through the forest, back towards the clearing. had she been older and less panicked, she would have realized how foolish it was to lead her scent straight back to her family.

But she wasn;t either. She yelped as she burst into the clearing, shaking horribly.

Amber was on her feet in an instant, trotting over to her terrified daughter.


Humans were... strange creatures. Arrow decided, stepping from the boat. 'a stowaway' they had called him. He had no idea what that meant.

Several years ago... when he was a younger pup and had recently found a mate, he had had some pups of his own. Three sons and a daughter. One of his sons - Ace - not even a whole year - had wandered from the clan. Arrow had later found his son;s carcass under a tree, the smell of coyote all over him.

Then, his other son, on a hunting trip gone awry Isaaru had been caught in a human's trap - too young to howl for help and was taken away before any could come. Ace found his smell all over that of a snare trap - one he was knowledgeable of because he had been caught as well.

A year later, his daughter had gotten into a pack fight with another female wolf. She had lost. The price she paid was death.

Nova - his last boy - was his only surviving pup. And as far as he knew, happily mated.

However Arrow knew, in some strange sense, as if Arn was telling him himself, that his son Isaaru was still alive... And the need, the desire to take off after him had become too great. Arrow bid his clan goodbye as he took off into the wild world of humans, wishing only to find his son.

Arrow stepped into the forest, offering a 'wave' to the humans that had been kind enough to let him off with a warning - they were humans who 'transported goods' to this 'island'. He didn;t understand a word of it.

He had found out quickly in the neightboring town that humans hated the site of wolves - but the call to go across the big water, the sea, was too great. He had to adapt... and that meant he had to act human like. Wear clothes and eat cooked foods and get on boats to get across the lands. It was one hell of a learning experience.

His sharp ears were hidden in the fringe of hair on his head, his tail protected in the strange article of clothes called... pants. they were strange feeling... almost uncomfortable. This 'shirt' however wasn;t so bad, a little itchy but nothing terrible.

Arrow fell away under the shadows of the trees, breathing in the scents of wildlife all over. the call was stronger then ever now. His son had to be close!

A smaller smile now appeared on the boy's face. Yes... that was good. Arn would watch over them on this long trip and bring them back safely. He became more calm as he yawned and pulled off the orange sunglasses, putting them in the middle cabinet.

"Wake me when we get there..." He said softly as he obviously feel into slumber.



Mera yelped as she felt her tail get bitten... but she quickly bit the dog's leg again, now trashing her head around to create a tear in the dog. Even if he tried to get away, he would have a horrible limp that would slow him down and leave his blood everywhere he went.



When Suki busted out of the brush, Mos too got to his feet and quickly ran over to Amber's side. He still wasn't sure how to exactly... yip or bark a conversations, so he left that to Amber and just looked around his daughter to make sure that she was ok and with no wounds.



The silver wolf, still, did not give chase. Suki was lucky that he wasn't after her. Honestly, he too lived a life of a human. He only turned to his wolf state at night to eat and relax under the moon goddess. To keep his keen sense of smell and hearing in tip top shape.... and well.... he just liked this form.

However, it was dangerous in these woods. Large monsters roamed during the day... so he lived on the outskirts on the opposite side of where the 'Future Boys' lived and even attended the same school as Shiro... however, he never met the other boy since Shiro had been put into another classroom for some time and now in all AP classes. This man-cub didn't exactly have the best grades.... seeing that he had no parents to nag him about it.

If he had met Shiro... he would be certain that he knew the boy... from a long time ago.... in a lab.
The silver fur ruffled as he shook his head. He didn't want to think about that. Those days.... haunted him everyday. The paws pushed into the dirt as he stretched and got up, walking off to find a better spot in a more cleared area. He knew that the little kit would tell her parents, if she had any, and they might come after him.

He'd rather not fight tonight...

[Reno]

Goodnight." Reshi offered as they drove off into the night. they would only stop once - for ammunition.

He was so close... so close... so - the rabbit dodged left suddenly and Blaze yelped, his own momentum carrying him to far too fast - he smacked into a tree.

The dog gave a loud yelp, and tore his jaws into the fox's back, trying to cripple her. His strong teeth could easily break her spine.

Amber lowered her head, nuzzling her daughter comfortingly. She gave a low growl and in a short series of barks, Suki answered. the moment it was given Amber rasied her head sharply. She leaned her head down, sniffing among the rat trail... and overlapping it delicately was the scent of a wolf.

She new Mos understood none of her talk with Suki, but she did know he knew this scent. She rasied her head to look at Mos, jerking it towards the ground, motioning him over.

Arrow trekked through the woods, slipping from the humans clothes quickly. he would no longer need them. they were tattered and worn anyways.

Soon, from the shadows burst a wolf, a strange jump to his ran - the signs of a leg that had once been caught in a trap. his ear still held the signs of the snare. the wolf took in all the scents around him carefully, castching no hints of wolf quite yet.

He wanted to find his son...

Mera yelped as the dog bit her back. He was biting hard. This dog definitely didn't want to die... and she was still quite young. She.... She needed help... She quickly let go of his leg and jumped away, snarling at the dog. She had done enough damage for him to be badly wounded. She started to yip and bark, getting the attention of her parents.



Mos looked at Amber and understood the sign. He lowered his head and smelt around before getting a.... wolf scent. He didn't know much about scents... but that scent... oh it brought him back. The one good eye looked over at Amber. A wolf? When the hell was there a wolf on this island?



For quite some time actually. The man-cub fled from the train that was transporting him and quite a number of other children and Jakku away. They were all too weak to fight and try to kill themselves since he was the only real predictor. The rest were sheep, cats, goats and dogs. He though, had enough strength to fall off the train and ween himself back to health.

If he hadn't.... it would be most likely that Amber, Mos and Reshi would of found him in that room ten years ago.

He walked away, sniffing around to make sure he wouldn't bump into some large monster who was sleeping. His mako eyes searched around but there was no sign of danger.

[Reno]

The dog lowered down, snarling deeply. he heard the noise of her call, recognizing it as one for help. he didnl;t like the sound of it. his eyes glanced around, looking for a way out.

Amber looked at Mos, simply shaking her head. She knew not why that wolves were here... or how. Was it possible they had gotten here the same way she and Mos and Reshi and Shiro had come? by that motor transportation? the boat?

Her head lifted, hearing another series of yelp - idetifiying it instantly as her daughter's call. her ears flipped back. she barked at Suki, telling her to follow, before she tore off towards the sound of her other daughter. She needed not say anything to Mos, the sound of their daughtrer would be the only thing he needed...


Blaze whimpered, lifted his head dizzily. where had that tree come from? They didn;t pop into his path like that usually. He got to his feet, already quite aware that he had lost his prey.

His ears flipped up however, hearing the noises of another fox, his sister's, cries. he got to his feet, turning to run towards the noise. he stumbled however, still a little dizzy. Why was Mera crying out anyways? she never got into trouble... that was Suki's job.


Arrow sniffed the trees and bushes, the soil and the places in the ground that held scent well. It had been a hot day, scent kept well. his ears flipped back, and he looked towards Arn. she was watching over him... she would give him her blessings right?

The wolf continued his slow trek, further and further in, and it wouldn;t be fore another fewmiles before he caught it. a scent...

a wolf scent!

Arrow was so enthralled he threw his head back and howled.

She could see that the dog was trying to find a way out... and she wouldn't let him. Every time he tried to move, she would move in the same direction, snarling and lashing her teeth out at him. No way.... you're MY dinner tonight!



Mos blinked as he heard the cry from Mera. Was she in trouble? Was it that wolf? No... why would he go after her if Suki had stumbled into him? Was it a whole wolf pack that came to the island? He'd have to find out...
He rushed after Amber and his daughter, following very close behind her to keep her safe as Amber ran up ahead.



The wolf was about to lay under another tree when he heard something in the distance. His ears perked as he looked up and around at the brush lining the small clearing.

It... was a wolf cry.... wasn't it? He could barely remember.... but that calling was so.... familiar. It even sent a chill down his spine.

[Reno]

the dog barked at her angrily, limping backwards. he was starting to shake with desperation. he couldn't... afraid and angry, the dog pounced forward towards her, teeth bared.

The little fox - still full of energy since she had not truely hunted - raced through the forest after her mother. her little legs carried her quick but not as far as her parents longer and stronger frames did.

Blaze cut a trail through the forest. he had been going the same direction as Mera, and therefore much closer. he went through the trees, and was the first to reach the clearing - just in time to see the dog jump at his sister.

Arrow raced after the scent, hoping it staied fresh long enough for him to find this wolf. he did now know - did not remember - if this was his son's. But it was a wolf and wolves usually livedtogether so... so even if it wasn;lt HIS son there had to be others here right?

[Rikugurl]

Mera yelped as he saw tackled. The dog was quite older than her, so his weight pushed her down. She dug her sharp claws into him and lashed out at him desperately. Maybe... she really couldn't handle this. Maybe this was a bad idea.... he mother will be extremely disappointed...
This is why, she wanted to be a human....

A flash of her brother though gave her some hope as he kicked the dog hard in the face with her back paw.



Mos watched carefully as he practically ran above his daughter. Who knew what happened in the woods at night... Suki was a runt so it could be possible for some flying creature to swoop down and pick her up.



The wolf lowered his head a bit but quickly picked it up again when he heard one hell of a fight not too far away. His mako eyes looked in the direction and sniffed the air a bit.

Blood...

[Reno]

The dog just yelped, flashing his teeth for her throat. He didn;t ntocie the new fox.

Blaze raced forward instantly, jumping on the dog's back, digging his teeth into the dog's soft ears.

The hound gave a cry, rearing back.

Suki yipped nothing as her father raced close, almost overbearingly. She felt safer with her father here, protecxting her. she was too small...

Amber's ears flattened as the sound of fighting grew close enough to hear. Moments later she had burst into a very small clearing, the sight of her two kits battling some dog a very interesting site indeed.


Arrow followed the scent sutifully, but it was rather old. hours at least. he could only hope that the wolf was staying in one spot or held never catch up.

Mera jumped away as her brother distracted the dog. She quickly bit at the dog's tail and whipped her head around. She never had dog before... she hoped it tasted good....



When Suki and Mos came to the clearing, Mos put his leg in front of her so she would bump into it and go no further. He bowed his head down low to her and just guarded her as he watched.



The wolf tilted his head a bit but whimpered at his boredom. Maybe he should check it out... but again, he didn't feel like fighting tonight.

[Reno]

The dog gave a help of pain as the fox kits ganged up on him. He yanked forward, his tail tearing from the kits mouth.

The movement sent blaze tumbling from the dog's back, his teeth getting a good chunk of ear. the dog howled in pain.

Amber paused, watching her two children take on the dog. She moved no farther. her children were doing fine. she waited for them to kill it.

Arrow raced onward, the scent getting frsher and fresher as he did. in his great excitement he gave another howl. He raced around trees, dashed through bushes. the scent was driving him crazy. It had to be... he hoped it was...

[Rikugurl]

Mera was now feeling the pain in her back as she jumped at the dog again, , now able to push it over from its bad leg. She couldn't help but noticed that their parents were there... watching. No... she HAD to do this now. She quickly dug his teeth into the dog's shoulder blade, ripping at it fiercely. She could taste the blood running into her mouth as she gnawed down deeper, getting her snout covered in blood.



Mos sighed as he looked away. He really... found this disturbing in a way... His children ganging up and killing like.... wild animals. Why couldn't he be tucking them into bed now and teach them their ABC's?



The wolf heard the howl again and looked away from the sound of the fight. Yes... that was definitely another sound of a wolf. Unfortunately.... he was a lone wolf (*insert something about a pun here*) after all... but he was curious...

He pulled his head up and howled back.

[Reno]

The hound gave a howl at Mera's attack. B;laze, not one to be outdone, jumped in and snapped his teeth around the dogs neck, teeth cutting into the windpipe.

Suki lowered down, her ears against her head. she whimpered, not liking the sight either. she was a timid fox, one who hated confrontation and - strangely enough - the sight of blood.


Arrow nearly paused in disappointment. it wasn;t the sound of his son, it was too low to well of curse it is. he;s not a pup anymore! that thought cheered him up. he howled back, following the noise now instead of his scent. in moments he had... burst into the wolf's 'den'.

Mera watched her brother do the last of the bidding and finally took her fangs out of the dog's shoulder. He always had to do the killing blows. What a male... She slowly backed away and nudged the dog, confirming that he was finally dead after the last exhale.

Even if she needed help, she was quite proud. She looked at Amber and gave a small yip before digging into dinner.



Mos looked down at Suki and nuzzled her a bit. Suki wouldn't last in the animal world... maybe he should really talk to Amber about having Suki go the other way.... as a human. Maybe she would be better at that. He wished he could just ask Suki if she wanted to go home and he could cook her some meat instead.... but he didn't know how to communicate in the form.



The silver wolf howled again as he got another one back. That howl... was too familiar. His head lowered as he heard the sound of bushes ruffling.

That was when another wolf came into the clearing. A limp showed that the wolf had been in a trap... His.... father had been caught in a trap... as so did a lot in the Moon Clan. But then again... that howl... sounded like his fathers'... and.... that scent.

Is it..... really him?

Silver ears pressed down on his head as he watched the wolf carefully, mako eyes staring him down.
A low bark. "Dad....?"

[Reno]

Blaze stood back, licking his lips, also proud. But it was rightfully his sister's kill - she had tracked and found it. she was allowed to eat her fill first.

Amber gave a proud bark in return to both her children. They had done well today. working together to take down such a large adversary.

Suki purred in contentment, nuzzling her father back. she was entirely grateful he was here... for some reason he felt likehe understood her better then mom.


Arrow looked upon the large wolf, the markings familar to him. They were similar to that of his female mate's. But other then that this wolf was completely new to him. He had no way to tell if it was or was not his son. Even the scent was different.

But when the dog barked, his ears rasied, and he returned one. "Isaaru?" Was it really...?
