"mmm i wouldn;t be either if i was him." Reshi said. He opened the fridge, glancing inside for something to eat. "Though maybe we do need to stop coddling him." He pouted, shutting the door and looked around the kitchen. he wanted something sweet.
He laughed a bit. "Well with how weird Amber is sometimes i can neeever tell."
The female fox lifted her head and growled, before rolling over, trying to go back to sleep.
after grabbing a box of sugary cereal, Reshi laughed again, walking over to the female and petting her on the head. "cheer up miss grouchy." He knew Amber out of them hated the idea of her precious baby going to school. she didn;t understand why he needed to go and she was afarid of how mean some of the children could be.
Reshi was a bit worried too - but not enough to prevent the kid from having a normal life. he needed to learn how to get along in the world without them behind him every step of the way. just cause he was blind didn;t mean he was incompetent.
He polopped down on the couch, opening the already probably stale cereal, taking out a handful and eating it. Yep, stale. Oh well.

Mos grinned but looked at Amber as she growled. She was starting to get ridiculously protective of Shiro anymore... and no one really knew why. Maybe Jakku's took more care into children that were 'disabled'. In most documentaries, wild animals killed their children who weren't perfect... but maybe that was just a bunch of crap.
Oh well, he lived through mating season without any worry. No kits for them. Just Shiro. Maybe that was another reason she was so protective. Shiro was the only child she would every be able to have. He watched is mate as she tried to go back to sleep in front of the fire. Even with all the gil they had, a lot had to go into the boy. They didn't want to live like rich people anyway.
Shiro was given a white cloth to pull over his eyes so that people didn't stare at him. People still stared, but not as badly. He was still an awful pale but the doctor said it wasn't anything to worry about. The boy didn't like the outdoors much and didn't like the sun. It was common with people of such fair skin. His hair didn't grow any darker either. It stayed the bleach blonde.
He yawned and leaned on his partner, pulling over a blanket. "Yea... that's what I said." He looked at the ceiling. Even if they were given a nice house... there was only two bedrooms. Thanks a lot Momma Lance. So... Mos and Amber got one room and Reshi slept in the same room as Shiro.
He tilted his head, thinking a bit. He wondered what Shiro's real name was...

Amber curled up and sighed. She dudnt want anything bad to happen to her boy,. she knew they were right... eventually she had to let her boy out in the world, to learn how to live on his own terms. But she didn;t want to let him go. she was afarid for him, and her mistrust of many humans made her nervous.
her boy was blind and a human, unable to make up with it by scent - his best aspect was probably his ears... It was the only thing that could guide him anymore.
Reshi leaned back a bit, scarving down more cereal. "it;ll be alright." who he was saying it too not even he knew. But Shiro wasn;t a weakling. he had made it through that room alive and had survived the many weeks of self-therapy after. Hopefully if anything, the boys mind had been so young that Shiro did not remember too much of his past and what ShinRa had done for him. hopefully it was all one long blur.

Mos yawned a bit, falling asleep on his friend. This cold weather made his so sleepy.
In the morning, Mos found himself laying on the couch by himself. His ears perked as he looked around. He stretched and got up drowsily. Slowly he trudged up the stairs and into the bathroom. It seemed like Reshi was still sleeping like an lazy ass he was and he was sure that Amber had brought Shiro to school.
He pulled out his toothbrush and put some toothpaste on it. He stuffed it into his mouth and started to brush his fangs and the like. He happened to look down at a weird looking thermonuclear and laughed. It was ways around this time of the year when Amber checked if she was pregnant... even after finding Shiro. He wondered why she always did this. He COULDN'T have children.
He shook his head and picked it up, ready to see that blue circle. But.... his toothbrush dropped as he didn't see a circle. The stick hit the floor, making some suds go on the floor.
About a hour later, the redhead was sitting at the kitchen table, his face in his hands. This wasn't possible. A blue line? She couldn't be pregnant... Well.... he did stop smoking because of Shiro's health... and mind you, that wasn't easy.
Shiro was quiet all morning as he too ate his stale cereal. He was quiet when he got changed and took a shower. The white cotton was wrapped under his bleach hair and over the scared eyes. Amber seemed to be quite off track too this morning. He could just tell.
He held her hand tightly and stayed close as she brought him outside and towards school.

Even though Reshi was typically dead to the world when he slept, today was a speacial day. he woke up momtarily to wish Shiro a good day - but he could tell the kid was not looking forward to it. the silent treatment was kind of obvious.
Amber was strange as well today. He really couldn;t place her mood. she almoast seemed... happy?
He dozed for a while later until he heard Mos scurrying around as well. Reshi reallly didn't want to get up. it was cold out there... he liked his nice comfy blankets. he dozed again.
later, loud, heavy steps alerted him to Mos' passing by again. ut-oh that wasn't good. There was on thing he knew, Mos never walked without making noise - a little trick he had learned by not only being a fox but a mercenary, so much so that it was a habit- unless he was upset.
Well, looks like he'd have to brave the cold.
Reshi stumbled from the bed. "Holy shit!" it was freezing! stupid morning! The male jumped around the room, his black hair bouncing a bit, before he trekked from his and Shiro's room, hurrying into the kitchen. He frowned at the sight of his partner looking like a complete and utter wreck. "Whoa man, whats wrong?"
Humans had such strange and funny things. little heat thingies called theomometers to tell if your temperature is correct (it was aways off for her and Mos, but she supposed Foxes had a different internal temperature), they had these magical boxes that heated food called microwaves, and they had pregenacy tests. She wasn;t sure how urinated on a thing determined such a qualitiy but she did not ask.
She was so used to taking it and getting a negetive answer, she did it more now to pass the time. She had done it today because she had been nervous and distracted about Shiro and she needed to do something to distract herself.
But... she saw a line. not a circle a LINE. According to the box (yes she had learned how to read... moderately well) a circle meant not pregnet, a line meant yes.
A LINE!
She, couldn;t fathom it. what had she and Mos done right? how... she was going to have kits! they were going to...
Well she had been feeling... strange for quite awhile. Maybe... she shouldn;t be so surprised.
She looked down at Shiro, remembering her first kit. he was no longer her only one... however, she squeezed back lightly, purring a bit. "It will be okay Shiro." she reassured, ruffling her hand through blonde hair. "Remeber what i always told you? Make allies and don;t be afarid to show your teeth if anyone is mean to you." of course the second part was just an anology. her son had no real 'teeth' to show.

Mos sighed as he just shook his head, his face still covered by his ling fingers. He left one down and flung the pregnancy test at him. He leaned back and sighed. He was REALLY crazing a cigarette. He had always grinned as he released deep into Amber, mocking the whole pregnant thing. Look like someone was kicking him in the face.
It was one thing to take care of a kid that isn't REALLY yours.... it was another when it was flesh and blood. The thing that really worried was.... how many kits does a fox HAVE?? He sighed and shook his head. Red foxes have 2-6 kits on an average litter.... wasn't that right? TWO TO SIX. He was REALLY hoping that Jakku were different... There was no way he was having TWO TO SIX children of his own. He'd turn his gun on himself.
When they got to the school, they stopped. Shiro listened to Amber quietly and nodded shyly. Once he heard voices of other children, he clung onto the Jakku. "I don't want to go."

Reshi blinked, catching the little slip. He recognized it instantly. pregnancy test.
...
EW!
He grimanced, holding it by its barest edges, and looked at it closely. Even if he didn;t know it was meant to be a circle, the way Mos was reacting was clue enough. "Kids... you're gonna have kids. Why are you freaking out?"
"I know." she nuzzled him. "But you need to get in contqact with others. it will be healthy for you."

"TWO TO SIX!"
Shiro frowned as he continued to bury his face into Amber's side. "No. I don't want to Mommy. Don't make me go! That's what the man said last time and it got too quiet and smelly!" He whined as he gripped hard onto her.
Some kids stopped doing what they were doing and looked at the boy. What boy at his age called his mother 'mommy'?

Reshi jumped back, yelping and hit the wall. He cowered. "C-Calm down!"
Amber shot a glance at the prying eyes of the children, then she leaned down, pushing him back a bit. "You have to."

Mos sighed as he looked down at the table. "I knew I shouldn't of stopped smoking." He rubbed his hair and looked at his friend. "Foxes have TWO TO SIX kits in a litter. Can you imagine TWO TO SIX little me's running around?" He questioned. "I just hope she's not like a REAL fox..." He wanted her to come home NOW.
His green eye looked at the cereal and frowned. "AND I WANT SOME FRESH CEREAL!"
Shiro frowned as he was pulled away. He looked down to her voice and frowned, growing the dark look on his face. The dark look that usually meant back the fuck away... but... nothing happened. He wouldn't do this to his mother. He just clenched a fist and took a deep sigh. "Fine."

Reshi chuckled. "for your sake i hope they're little Amber's running around. six of you would be frightening." He walked over patting his friend on the head. "Now breathe buddy."
Amber frowned at the look, but nuzzled him. "good boy." and like a mother bird pushing her kids out of the nest, she pushed him forward towards the school yard, letting him find his own path to flight.

Mos seemed to just deflate. There was no way that sign was true. Maybe it was broken. Yea... that had to be it. Just because he stopped smoking didn't mean that his sperm could all come back and have a fucking party. He growled as he threw the cereal into the trash. What if she did have six kits? That would mean they would have seven children. SEVEN CHILDREN. Mos was an investigator that risked his life. There was NO way he was going to get: "Well think of you SEVEN children!"
OH NO! None of that! She wanted to get pregnant so badly, she can take care of them all. No... Reshi could help to because he wasn't upset at this moment in time. WHAT A FREAK!
Mos wasn't noticing that he was pulling long red hair out of his head as he was thinking all this...
Shiro frowned at the push and slowly walked towards the school. A teacher was waiting for him at the front and blinked. How cruel of her to just watch her blind child walk without knowing where to go? The teacher frowned at Amber as she walked to the boy. Placing a hand on his shoulder, she smile. "You must be Shiro. I heard a lot abo--"
The boy pulled his shoulder away from the teacher quickly and continued to walk into the school... as if he could really see.

Reshi sighed, watching his fox buddy freak out, but when he started ripping strands of hair out of his head he was pretty sure it was time to react. He reached up, grabbing his friends hands and tugging them away. "Yo, Mos get a grip."
He really didn't see what the problem was. so okay, he was having kids. weren't people supposed to be HAPPY about this?
Amber straightened and just glared at the teacher. she knew what her son could and could not do. How dare one look so disapporving to her? she watched Shiro disappear into the school, sick with worry but... but he would be alright.
She turned and walked off.

Mos frowned as his friend pulled his hands away, but noticed the hair curled into his hands. "Oh...." A sigh and sulk. "I don't want kids Reshi... I just wanna go out, have fun and kill people." He pouted more as if it was a humble life. "I don't want to be tied down with seven kids..."
Shiro was guided to a room. It was just a small room with some bookshelves, a table and a desk. He shivered a bit as he 'looked' around the room. The closing of the door made him wince. He could tell that he was confined now. "Shiro... come on sweetie" The woman took his shoulder again and guided him to a chair at the table. "Do you know braille?" The boy shook his head. "Do you know what braille is?" The boy again shook his head. The teacher frowned but smiled. The boy was cute... but different. "Well, it's a technique used so blind people can read. Would you like to know how to read?" Shiro sat there, 'staring' at the table for awhile before nodding. The woman smiled and nodded, pulling out a book. "Then let's begin."

Reshi frowned. "Come on it;s not that bad..."
Amber hurriedly trekked back home, her mind split between two subject. Her son Shiro and his first day of schoool...
and her kits that were going to be born.
She didn;t know which one to be more focused on.
When she got home however and saw Mos and Reshi talking and the red hair the fox had pulled out and the little test Reshi was holding she knew it would be the latter. Her ears flipped back as she shut the door, walking into the kitchen.
