She wrapped her wings around her body and the mist returned.
A rat
Her small eyes gazed at the beast down below. Now all she would have to do is climb down and run under the door to escape...easier said than done of course. She would have to wait till he got bored and leave.

He smirked watching her, she really did amuse him. " Tell me where do you think you can run? Go out there and another vampire is sure to eat you."

She growled. He was right...what barbareons these vampire were...they would eat anything that had blood in it...she should turn into a rock if she knew how.
The mist found her again and she turned back into her normal state. She looked down at him and frowned.

Kain suddenly apeared directly behind her " You amuse me, I might not kill you, yet atleast" he placed his hand on her cheek brushing it softly.

She jumped and grabbed his hand, biting into it, drawing blood. She then jumped off and landed lightly below.
She caught her breath and quickly turned back into a rat. She ran under the door and scurried down the hall, hugging the wall.

She ran as far as her little legs would take her. This palace was huge...and she wasn't sure how to get out of it. She climbed up to a large window and looked out at the valley. She just wanted to go home...
she heard noises coming close and found a small hiding place near the window.
"mmm...why has he ordered us to find rats? I have found 10 already! What does he want with them?
"don't question his orders...he will rule this ugly planet one day...so if he wants rats, we'll find him rats."

A few hours had passed and she had managed to sleep in a little hole in the wall. When she awoke, she sniffed the air and poked her head out of the hole. Nothing.
She yawned and walked down the dark, empty hallways. She turned the corner and bumped into a hoove. She blinked and shook off the bump but squeeked as she was picked up.
"here's another...might as well bring the batch to him now."
She was plopped into a bag and carried off to the throne. The bag was emptied into a large crate infront of Kain. The beast bowed and returned to their post.
She blinked as she saw the other rats running around the crate.

He was crazy! She looked around and sighed...there was no way out. How would he be able to figurem out which one she was anyway?

She looked up at the hidious beast and started to squeek...
