In ancient Japan, A young man practiced with the rod of the elders. The mans hair was up is a ponytail and a cloth wrapped around his head with a Japanese symbol of his family. He was the son of the Royal Emperor.
He had been swing the rod for hours, since the sun came up and the bird awoke. He refused to stay inside the palace and be pampered all day by the royal servants.
His master was late today. The path to the small town was empty, no small animals crossed the path. Only pink spring leaves covered the path.
A war had broken out over Japan. The Kirikomo tribe was storming across the land again, taking over every town that they passed. They were headed to the palace to kill the emperor and any other royal family memeber.
The mans master was apart of the Japanese army. The general to be exact. The emperor hired the best of the best to teach the man how to fight with the code of honor. Not only was his master his teacher of war but a close friend. They took many walks when the man was a child. His master taught him the ways of life. Why beast eats beast and why birds sing in the morning and let the crickets take over the night.
Kuniyuki Fujita set his rod down and looked down the path. "where are you master?" The young man was in his early 20's. His long brown hair hung from the band that tied his hair. His dark eyes searched the path. He picked up the rod again and waited.
