"No." Came a short answer from the violet wolf who led them, his ears slowly lowering. They had lost so much time under that spell... but at least the others seemed to not know of anything that occurred. Perhaps that was a blessing. "We lost..."
"But what happened?" Came a call from his other side, knowing it was the third of them who had been trapped. "We were overpowered by his tricks." Was the simple answer. When the other continued to ask the wolf growled, "Enough! We must get back. It had been awhile since we have been home... let us hope they will greet us well."
If Hatori believed they were a liability though... would he kill them? At this point Eskel wasn't sure what he preferred for he knew if anyone were to discover just what had occurred within those bedroom walls... the word of mercy would not even cross the wolves' minds.

"What do you mean---" The young one yipped as he was shouted at, quickly hiding behind the other who seemed just as confused. How did Eskel know so much more than they? And why did he smell off? He sort of smelt like.... vampir. Had he gotten into a battle with one? Had he awoken before them? All these questions came to an end as they came towards the edge of their camp, seeing some of the wolves settle down for dawn to sleep. Some were wounded from practice fights, cleaning themselves as other held low conversation.
It was only one who snarled at the new scent, making the rest of the pack pick up their heads as they heard their delta's guardian and looked in the direction she was. It was then that they saw the three in which they had not seen for a long while. Ida herself stood, her tail wagging only slightly as she sniffed the air.

Many eyes fell upon them that night - but none more frightening then their own leader's red gaze. It filled all three of them with terror, their tails quickly going in between their legs as the wolf approached. As he got closer and his growls could be heard they also quickly laid down upon the grass and kept their heads as low as they could, starting to even lay upon their backs to expose their belly.
When the large wolf stood before them, none of them could even look at him, his anger a furious hot flash through their brains and leaving them practically immobile. Of course he was mad - they had attempted to kill him. If he wished to repay such disrespect in likely turn, it would only be there graciousness to do so. Of course only Eskel would understand why as neither of the younger two even realized what they had done.
Three loud yelps echoed out in the forest and then a there was a long silence.......
Then whimpers of pain.
Hatori spared them that night.
And one after one the Vampirs of the mansion left for the night, none of them saying a word to their master - mainly because they did not see him. It was as if he had disappeared as if but a ghost. They could not call him on it for it was his right to have his privacy. Again, Ven's nostrils flared with fury as Axel and Roxas traveled off together and alone for the evening. Larxene was no good company once again, this time her hand dragging Marluxia about. Luxord kept them company, reading them fortunes and telling them stories but even with their distracted minds Sora could tell how angry Ven still was.
Envy was a fairly unhappy sin.

"Let me guess. You shall be heading out towards Lilo and Firi home and I shall sit here at this table until another night of lonely hours come." The blonde finally spoke, his anger apparent. "I do not see why he leaves us when it has been years since he has seen us. How quickly he let his guard down to the lord." He crossed his arms as he leaned back, shaking his head some. What was he suppose to do? Go out and try to get himself killed again. "I suppose I could head to town, what to do there though, I am unsure."
He stood, about to stop off when he paused, glancing down at the fancy floor. "You know what it was that I discovered?" The brunette seemed to become curious, wondering what his brother had stumbled upon. "I was enlightened with the rotten toothed wolf's name. It is Latin, just like mine... but meaning Earth. Do you find that peculiar?"

"A name is a name given to one by his parents. Perhaps he was born a lycan and as they are creatures who live upon the earth it was a fitting name." Sora pointed out as he stood, smiling to him. "Ironic it is though. A Vampir and a lycan... so unalike it seems in every way but yet you both share a common origin for name and possibly much more. I wonder how different we truly are."
He seemed to wander off the plane of the world for a small time, just musing over that as each day he was discovering more and more likeness between himself, humans, lycan and other creatures upon this Earth. They were all connected it seemed. It reminded him of just last night, speaking to the Dhampir of how each action caused a reaction to another being.
A hand waved past his eyes, snapping him from his daze and he blushed a bit. "I apologize brother. You know how I get." He looked about the room before taking his arm and leading him into the shadows, murmuring to him as quietly as he could, "Brother, do you know who I saw yesterday?" The other seemed to roll his eyes and respond the obvious answer. "No, no, it was after I fleed from the town and returned here. Marluxia had offered to drink with me that night but when I reached the bar he was absent and left me warning in a notice to leave as well. The hunter was there."

"Ah, of course I know who you have saw, you told me yourself. Lilo and her mother of---" He paused as his brother started to speak, his blue eyes narrowing some in the darkness of the corner that stood upon. It was the ending of his brother's statement that made Ven's eyes widen. "The hunter?" He whispered in shock, wondering what ever would the hunter be doing when he could be killing. "So, what happened? Did you leave at once or...?"
In the forest, the sounds of heavy hooves hit the ground, a path well taken by riders such as himself. His quivers were full and his sword ready. Aquamarine eyes glanced about as he could smell a recent trail of lycan. He hit the reins, making the horse quickly follow trail. The two sped down the rich dirt, some leaves picking up as they went when all of a sudden, they were cut off... by a falling log. A trap, a set up that had been done on the night that the wolves were human. The hunter was slammed into hard, making him cry out as he fell off his horse and landed hard upon the ground.
His weak body shook as he slowly started to heal from the shock, only to hear a horrible cry from a nearby horse. "PHOBOS!!" He cried, his eyes widened as he saw three large lycan jump upon the stallion, their poisonous fangs ripping into his flesh and taking him down. "DAMN YOU! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!" The hunter swore as he started to get onto his feet, slowly pulling out his burning sword as other wolves around him started to show themselves. He knew... he was in more trouble than he thought.
These were not the wolves of the main pack... but outlaws who had gathered together to terrorize everything and anything.

"No I.... I bought him a drink." The other looked at him as if he had truly grown three heads - a hydra just as the hunter said. He grinned as the other started to shout and cause a ruckus, patting him gently on the shoulder. "Take a breath my brother it was fine! We had a short conversation and I thanked him for what he had done for us the night we had turned."
The blonde growled and pushed away his arm, snapping how it was also he who almost killed Roxas and he that same night as well! "True, and it was merely luck that kept us alive still. But had it not been for he in the first place we would be dead. He was truly quite normal... thought possibly a little bitter and lonely." The other blonde didn't want to hear his introspection though, still biting out words about how he should of just left. "Do not think me a fool brother. I won't do that every day. That night is was merely... necessary. I will do my best never to cross his path again."
It was unfortunate he would be breaking that promise in no time. "Now I suppose I should begin my travel for the night. You may join me if you wish?"

"Make sure you don't! I do not wish to return to a quarters by myself and sleep in a large, empty bed. It already feels chilly without Roxas upon us." The blonde huffed his last before nodding in agreement. "I'll come along. I am sure I would be as foolish as you if I were to venture to find that wolf again. Neither of us owe one an excuse, apology or debt... though I am thankful that he saved my life or it would be you by your own last nigh and forever more. Beside, I would like to see how fair Lilo has become."
The two started to walked out of the room and out the main entrance. "You do know it that if we were still as we where, without our mother gone and our home burned, you would probably be wed to her." They didn't have much time to waste before they started to run in the direction of their old hometown. They would appear here and there to catch their breath... and just as they were about to speed out once more, they both heard some terrible noises. "Ah, what on God's earth is that!?"
Not too far away, the hunter of these woods was struggling with his life. It was a pitiful blessing that the horse had been caught, for the smell of flesh and blood made most of the attacking wolves go there and bicker. But the sounds of his poor companion being ripped to shreds made the silverette sick and heavy hearted. A wolf finally lunged at him, his claws coming down onto to get an arrow shoved in his chest cavity. The wolf cried as he fell onto the ground before another arrow was shoved into his body, the silver instant to react and it was dead.
And it was all by hand.
He didn't have the chance to draw his arrow for he was completely surrounded and he could not shoot so well in that circumstance unless he had higher ground. Two more wolves charged, the man's sword cutting and burning deep into a shoulder but was tackled by the other, making him tumble onto the ground. "UGH!" Foam started to leak from his mouth as his eyes started to change, his sword swinging and getting a snout. Fangs started to grow through the foam but harsh and loud pants made it easy to tell that something was very wrong with the hunter.
Deeper into the forest, a pack was training hard on both their attacks and minds. All but two. A young wolf followed the elder, knowing that he had to know he was on his trail. Finally he stopped though... and the small one walked over. "P-please Eskel... please tell me what you remember. I am getting memories but... it seems well too pleasant that what had actually happened to us. I fear that he gave us memories of our own to believe to hide the truth..."

"I am uncertain..." Sora answered with trepidation in his heart, tilting his head to catch the scents upon the air. It made his nostrils burns and his fangs sharpen as he hissed, "Lycan." But he scented something else. Blood. The blood of a good horse... and that of a......
His eyes widened and he rushed, "Come hither Ven! One of our own is in danger!" His words seemed to stall the blonde for but a moment before he heard his sibling's steps hurrying after him. He jumped, effortlessly making it to a branch and with another hop gliding through the branches, until he alighted upon the one where it surrounded a clearing.
Had he time to think, the scene he happened upon and the scents he had gathered would of been a confusing one. All that registered was the man on the ground, struggling to avoid the jaws of the wolf. That made Sora move.
The sound of the branches leaves shaking barely alerted them, but their eyes turned when a form jumped from the forest and landed on all fours upon the grass not a foot from the struggling pair. Lips pulled back to reveal fearsome teeth as he hissed in his throat and with the grace of any wild cat he thrust himself forward. The force of his weight and strength smacked into the wolf and the two crashed into the dirt the wolf emitted a high pitched screech as claws racked down his body, ripping fur and skin before the Vampir got a good kick in and the dog went sailing into a bush. It must not of been so vicious though because if one heard carefully, they could hear a whimper.
The brunette quickly got to his feet, hissing at the surrounding lycan pack. "Leave now or you'll regret it."
"Silence!" Came a growl and a snap of teeth making the boy jump away even further. The black and purple wolf stared the young boy down glad Nico had not pestered him this way as well. "Sometimes things are better left unknown. Leave it at that or you will regret it."

Wha--- one of their own? Why had he not gained his knowledge of scent? All he could pick up was the good horse, remind him of... But Sora was off and he could not let his brother go into some sort of battle without him. Quickly, he followed after, jumping through the trees and following the scents.
"A haggard hiss came from the man who seemed to be trapped in his own cape as he struggled with the wolf upon his back. His silver sword was kicked away from his hand and bow and stakes fell upon the ground from their struggle. Claws tried to reach behind him, to grab and sink them into something but to his surprise, the weight was pulled from him, feeling the wolf's claws rake across his back as he was slammed into. Foam continued to drip onto the ground, sizzling as it hit. Pearl eyes watched from above, only widening as he saw the power his brother held.
What really made him pause was who they were actually defending. The hunter. He held his place, not wanting to save the very person that could kill them right after their rescue. But his mind changed when he saw the largest of the wolves step out, seeming to have an eye missing. "Hahaha.... what is a little newborn got on us?" He snarled, licking his chops as he came forward. Another vampire quickly came to Sora's side, his upper lip pulling back as well as his fangs flashed. "Make that two newborns!" He snarled, making the black and white wolf chuckle even more, the others behind him following the laugh.
"I never liked the taste of newborns but if they dangle in front of me so, how can I---" His golden eye widened as an arrow landed... right between his toes. He looked up, seeing that the hunter had finally got to his feet, still foaming but loading another arrow. With a growl, he started to back away. "RETREAT!" Some were foolish enough to turn their backs, suddenly getting nailed in the spine with arrows as the hunter shot over the boys heads.
They watched as the pack disappeared before the two brothers heard a loud sound behind them, both looking back to see that the hunter had fallen, panting and continuing to foam from the mouth.
The young wolf yipped as he jumped back, his ears and tail lowering as he got on his stomach. "But.... Eskel! You have never seen so course before. What---"
Kaakaa!
Both wolves paused before looking up, seeing a large crow sitting on a branch over then.

Sora felt a tremble run through him as he growled in fury as the big wolf who he realized MUST be the leader of the pack. His eyes narrowed further as he was laughed at, about to snap at them especially when his brother joined him and they offended him as well! Protectiveness curled around his heart...
And then he was shocked when he heard a whistle in the air and suddenly an arrow was impaled in the ground and just as swiftly another fell through the air. More came raining down until the wolves turned tail and ran until their feet could no longer be heard.
That was when the man fell and the brothers looked back, seeing him upon the floor. "Hunter!" The brunette cried as he rushed to his side and turned him onto his back. The body under his fingertips was surprisingly hot and ill-normal and he did not like it. He couldn't quite understand how this man was a Vampir yet still have the working organ in his chest cavity - all he really knew was he could hear the sound of his heartbeat and it was low and strange.
Behind him he heard his brother call to him, asking him what was wrong and Sora, after checking to see if he had garnered any bites from the wolves' poisonous fangs, realized that was not it. There was only one other answer. "He needs blood."
The blood blinked before looking back at the horse now dead upon the floor, it's blood spilling wastefully all upon the grass. He indicated it but Sora shook his head. "He can't drink that! The wolves' poison has tainted it. If he drinks it, it will kill him! Brother I'll stay here and watch over him, track down something else! If we do not find him food soon, he will die." Ven did not seem to think this was a bad thing just murmuring how they should leave him. It was not as if they should do him any favors...
"Ventus! Do as I ask!" The brunette growled and looked at the other, trying to make it so there was no room for argument, but Ven merely stood there statically and Sora realized he would get no help from him. And if he left to go and fetch down prey for him himself... he had a suspicious feeling Ven would leave the man alone. He would have to deal with it some other way.
"You are so intolerable sometimes!" He hissed before he did something daring. His claw sliced against his wrist, blood welling quickly and slipping down his pale skin before he rose it to the hunter's lips.
Ears twitched at the sound of the bird call before he looked up upon the bird. Without meaning too he murmured her name, "Arluin...?" Whatever was she doing here? Had Kuku sent her to spy on them?
No, that seemed unreasonable and foolish. He had appeared to care greatly for the pet, and letting her stray around a wolf den was dangerous. So why? ...Was... was it because of him?
"Is she as you remember?" Came the curious question, pale eyes watching as Eskel allowed the bird to alight upon his arm, petting her wings. "I... I believe it may possibly be though it is hard to believe." He admitted, "It is difficult to think my Ebony lived so many years..." "Ebony?" This time, Kuku sounded amused. "Do not laugh! I... I have never been terribly creative!"

Ven frowned as he watched his brother fuss over such a dangerous man. Why was he so insistent in saving him. It was then that he saw his brother slit his own wrist open that he sprang to action, rushing over just as blood started to splatter onto the hunter's lips. "Brother! What is it that you are doing!? Don't waste your blood on---" He paused, hearing his brother shout at him one last time before placing his wrist closer... though the silverette seemed to growl and pull his lips away. Did he... want to die? It seemed wrong since he equipt himself so well.
He was about to just leave, not want anything to do with this but when he looked down upon them for the last time, his lips about to speak his departure, he blinked slowly, seeing something that truly wasn't there. It was but himself on the ground... and the tanned, handsome male atop him sucking the poison from his neck.
How could he be such a hypocrite? He himself had saved a creature that was just as deadly to them as this man, not once but twice... and almost a third. How could he say such things to his brother and not wish to help. Did Sora feel the same way about this man as himself felt about the wolf. "B-brother, you know it is useless to feed him your blood! It is already used and we can only find true quench from the one who turned us! Wean him from this for I shall look for something else!" And then he was gone, following any scent he could to find any sort of animal.
While he was gone, the silverette continued to pant, his breath harsh as the blood seemed to do very little. Sweat started to roll down his face. His eyes slowly started to focus though, looking up at the vampir over him. It wasn't long until the blonde came back, something limp in his arms. "Here." He offered his brother an unfortunate badger whose neck had been broken... and not from any natural mishaps.
Ears slowly picked up as the younger wolf looked up at the crow, hearing her call out again as she adjusted her wings. His ear tilted some though when he heard a voice whisper a name, making him look over at Eskel. "Y-you know it's name?"

If he could, he would of cried when he saw the other reject his offer. Did he truly hate him so much that he would rather die then accept his help? That just seemed unwise! But, maybe God was blessing him, he heard Ven's call behind him telling him he would do as asked. The brunette sighed and leaned on his other hand feeling a bit dizzy himself the more blood he lost. It was doing so little... but why? It was being used just fine in his own body...
He finally had to pull away and seal the cut with a swipe of his tongue, knowing if he lost much more he'd possibly lose his own life on accident. He opened his eyes and looked down at the other, seeing the other staring right back. He smiled tentatively, "Do not fret... my brother will be back shortly and then you will be alright." If he understood him he did not acknowledge it and thankfully the uncomfortable silence ended when Ven finally returned with his kill.
The brunette frowned, his eyes somewhat sad as he took the dead creature from the other's hand. "Thank you." This time when he cut the creature's body and held the bleeding wound to the other's mouth there was not a pause as he started to drink.
Eskel's ears lowered and he looked away, answering "No." He was also not a terribly good liar and in the back of his mind he could hear Kuku chuckling in amusement. It made him growl some before he turned tail and started to head down the trial, hearing wings flapping as the bird began to follow him.

"You're welcome..." The blonde frowned as he watched his brother cut the poor creature open, the blood pooling down into the hunter's mouth. Almost instantly, the silverette found his last bit of strength to pull himself up and sink his fangs into the wound. It was much like a baby nursing on a nipple, a desperate feeding motion to fill their craving for nourishment. "It must be hard..." The blonde finally said over his brother, making Sora glance back slightly.
"To be a dhampir.... or whatever this man is. He is but a vampir and human, is he not? What is this life like?" A thoughtful look came over his face as he continued to watch the man drink, some blood running down his pale face that he had missed.

"I believe you could always ask inside of wondering." Sora pointed out logically, glancing back at the silver-haired vampir who seemed too preoccupied to hear their conversation. At the sight of the trialing blood though his mouth started to water and his stomach quenched some in hunger. He swallowed hard, shaking away the thought of licking it clean as that would be proper. Nor would it be to go with his second idea which was to rip the creature free from his grasp and take the rest of the blood for himself... which would be rather silly after going through all that trouble to get it to him.
He shut his eyes before standing carefully, his body swaying just a little before he managed to get a hold of himself. Had he been drinking human blood, he would not of been fazed - or at least that was what that demon Larxene always told him whenever he had spots of weakness. Yet he still refused too.
He looked down at the feeding male and sighed. "I hope you have learned to take better care of yourself." He chastised like a mother would her kin, before turning and walking over to Ven. "I suppose we'd best leave."
