Roxas swallowed hard, looking down at the paper blankly, unsure of what to say or more so what to write. He was pretty sure telling - well reminding - Sora that mom was dead definitely fit in the category of stressing his heart. Even from here he could hear the uneven beats, some of them rapid some of them slow, but never really calm even when Sora himself seemed to be. And now that he thought about it neither was his breath.
How could he just of forgotten about mom though?! He never would have! Was it really that painless for his brother? No, how could he think that? Of course it hurt Sora. He knew it had, had felt it. Maybe it was gone because it was just so terrible... or because he hadn't been there to see her before she passed.
Luckily, Ven kept him from thinking much more as he took the paper and pencil and wrote an answer that luckily made him ask no more question, but left him confused.
"Something I wanted to happen...?" He repeated, raising an eyebrow before wincing and immediately lowering it. Even that hurt...?
Before much more could be said though, a new face popped into the curtain and kindly told them to leave. Roxas wasn't sure whether to argue or not - then he remembered they weren't supposed to be allowed in here at all. He sighed watching Riku as he wrote this out for the brunette.
Sora took some time to read it, not because he couldn't but because he was trying to stall them. He finally sighed though, eyes shutting. "Okay... I'll see you guys soon." He looked in Riku's general direction, smiling, "I love you..." He looked to his brothers, "Love you guys too."
He swallowed as they all got up and left, even Riku. The curtain was swished closed, leaving him the only one in the room. He turned his eyes back to his hand, as if he was about to go to his exercises but the digits didn't even twitch. His lips trembled a little, incredible loneliness and despair seeming to take over his heart in this lonely see-less and hear-less world of his own. A tear ran down his cheek. "Please come back soon..."
Roxas bit his lip, looking back every so often as they walked through the ER, almost heading back - fuck whatever Riri said, his brother needed someone! - but Ven asked a question that distracted him outright. Why was he asking about that?
But at the announcement the other had he stopped dead in his tracks, his heart stopping for a moment. "W-What...?" It was cured? WHEN?! WHY DIDN'T THEY GIVE IT TO HIS MOTHER GOD DAMN IT?!
It was the name of the town though that caught his attention even more so. Saffron. It was a place he had visited thousands of times. His dad's hometown. Where he was right now. Where they had been unable to contact him. "Did... they disclose the names of who they were?" He asked thickly, swallowing hard and fearing the answer.

Riku blinked as he heard the place too. Sora had told him that it was where his dad was going to be safe from the rising levels... and they hadn't been able to reach him yet...
His thoughts along with Ven's were going down the same path as Roxas. Could... could Sirocco be one of those volunteers?
The tan man shook his head as he flipped some papers, though it was easy to tell that it wasn't for this when he flipped them all back again. "No, not yet. Not even the hospitals know right now but it's heard that the man who got the antidote that the right formula was in had volunteered after his wife died from the epidemic. It was...really kind of heart breaking... but he's really a savior along with the doctor who came up with the cure."
All three of the men stood there in silence, unable to speak, unable to think...
It had to be Sirocco.
That was when Ven remembered when Sora was talking to their aunt.
"Yes, he arrived this morning with Pidgeot and Kirlia. But he's not here right now. He's at the hos--- UM!" She paused, blushing a bit. "He's out right now!"
He was at the.... hospital.
"It's dad..."

No... no he couldn't. He wouldn't of.
...Would he?
"C-Come on Ven... I'm sure there are a lot of guys who lost their wives to the disease." Roxas tried to say logically, unable to hide a slight shake in his voice. "Dad wouldn't of done something so... so stupid without telling us!" He didn't even notice the curious look the doctor was giving them as the twins started to get in an argument.
"I know he was in Saffron but that doesn't mean-..... What if you heard wrong?!" Roxas fought back when the other mentioned the phone call. The blonde snapped something and he growled back, "Well you know what then! I'll call right now and you'll see he'll be there and he can explain everything!" Roxas stomped right out of the emergency room, going back in the waiting room were some phones were set in the corner. Nevermind how late at night it was.
He... really had to know.
The others against the chairs (minus Axel) watched in confusion as one blonde stormed past then another followed close behind.
"Jeez did they PMS in the last five seconds?" Aqua rolled her eyes.
"What happened...?" Terra asked tentatively as Riku came walking back over, but getting one good look at the silverette made him worry about something else, "How's Sora?"

Ven rose an eyebrow as Roxas started to argue with him. "Yea, it was! He wasn't there when we called...twice!" He frowned as Roxas started to bitch again before he shook his head. "Look, aunt Nova said something about a hospital when we called but she shushed right up and said he'd be back soon. How can you not relate to that!?" He huffed. Honestly... he was both pissed and... proud of his dad. He knew that if Terra died from something... he would probably do some testing to prevent it from happening again... but he would of TOLD someone.... maybe..
He growled as Roxas challenged him, about to snap at what time it was before racing after him. He needed to prove him wrong!
They raced out towards the phone and as Roxas sat down, his identical twin stood behind him. Buttons were pushed and a little Rotom started to dance across the screen.
Riku sighed, shaking his head before looking at the assistant. "Thanks again..."
The man nodded and smiled. "No problem. I'll send for you later."
Riku walked out, seeing Roxas and Ven at the phones before walking back to the group. He ignored Terra's first question before answering the second. "He's... struggling. At least he recognized our voices but he can hardly see unless you put a paper in his face... and he can't hear very well either." He sat back down before sighing. "He'll.... be alright though."
Aquamarine eyes looked out, seeing the twins again. "Apparently Ven thinks their dad was the volunteer who helped find the cure for Pokerus."
"They found a cure!?" Fuu blinked, rubbing her eyes to wake up a bit.
"Yea...a few days ago."

Roxas, on the other hand, didn't quite see it the way Ven was. Dad was well... he was dad! And meant he needed to be the responsible, sensible one. Instead he was off trying to kill himself! Even if it was for a good cause, he could have told them. Should have!! How could there aunt keep it from them as well?!
There were long, silent rings on the end of the phone and Roxas sighed, about to hang up when he heard a muffled hello as a ring was cute off. "Hello...?" He ask back tentatively.
Across the room, there other were taking in the information Riku was sharing some of them frowning thoughtfully as he confirmed Sora was both somewhat blind and deaf. Terra shook his head some, wondering what the fuck they were going to do now when the silverette had even more shocking news.
"Are you fucking serious?" The gym leader asked, looking towards Ven was was leaning over his brother as he talked on the phone. If they had just found it two weeks earlier...
Of course if the water kept rising he supposed it all wouldn't matter anyways.

The woman on the other end of the TV phone rubbed her eyes and yawned before she spoke again. "Hello?"
"Aunt Nova!" Ven called, seeing her blink a few times before focusing on the boys. "Oh, boys, is everything alright? Do you know what time it is?"
Ven frowned before nodding. "Yea... but we have an important question to ask."
The woman nodded, seeming to be a little fearful. "What happened, dear?"
Roxas was the one to spit it out, asking her if Sirocco had been a volunteer for the testing in Saffron City.
The woman was silent for a moment, rubbing the back of her neck. "He..." What was she suppose to say? Her brother had asked her not to tell the boys... but it wasn't like she could lie to them either. If she told them they would have to talk to their father, the answer was obvious.
"Yes, he was a volunteer, but boys, please don't be angry with him! He told me... he was doing it for you all. That he needed to help find the cure before any of you would be taken from him. He told me... you boys are more important than himself... though he wasn't looking to go off and die either but... He said he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he didn't volunteer and one of you died on your journey. He was thinking about telling you before you left but... he knew it would only worry you and you already have so much to deal with. But... he's find boys, just feeling a little off but the doctor said he should be find in a few days. They're now mass producing the drug to send around the world."
"I wonder... how long it'll take Sora to get back to normal." Riku sighed, thinking about the time that they didn't have left. It took Axel a few days to recover so it might take weeks for Sora. Weeks... that was... something they didn't have.
"What.... what should we do...?"

Terra was frowning as he heard the question knowing it would be difficult to say but it had to be said. "If he can't travel, we leave him behind." The others looked at him in surprise and he sighed. "You know I'm not fucking saying that to be mean so don't give me those fucking looks. We shouldn't even encourage him to come with us if he can't fucking hear right. If it hasn't been clear before we're on an obviously very dangerous fucking mission. If we need to warn him about something, we can't. He's lucky to be alive now, what if something worse happens huh?"
The second, more serious identical blonde listened to his aunt's words quietly, letting her speak her piece. When she finally finished though, he sighed, an angry sound past his teeth. "You're asking the wrong person to not be angry Aunt Nova." The blonde said darkly, eyes flashing. She, like everyone else, knew his temper. While he had gotten it under control for the most part...
Well his dad was just fucking unlucky today. In the past 72 hours he'd nearly lost his lover and his first brother. He'd FINALLY dealt with his grief over losing mom. They'd gone through a whole WEEK of hell and now he finds out his dad does this behind their backs. Even if he had the best intentions, even if he KNEW one-hundred and ten percent he would of been fine Roxas would of STILL been angry.
And now he was just furious beyond all measure. "You know what Aunt Nova? Do me a favor." He snarled. "Go ahead and tell him he's full of shit because if we meant the fucking world to him he wouldn't of done what he did to Ven. If he wants to talk to me, he better have one fucking apology ready. We're at the Hearthome hospital." He shoved the phone into Ven's hands and shoved himself out of the chair, storming back to the group.
He hardly noticed what they were talking about as he slumped into his chair leaning up against his lover who was still fucking asleep. He had an urge to smack him but knew he'd just be taking his anger out on the other if he did. "What are you guys talking about?" He grumbled, not really caring as a storm cloud of fury seemed to thunder over his head.

Ven frowned as he listened to his brother. He would of yelled at him for being so rude to their aunt... but he had a point. Kind of. Sure... his father disowned him but... he was still his son and he knew that no matter how angry his dad was at him... he still didn't want him to DIE. But that was Roxas... and he knew that he could be rather hot headed. He took the phone and shook his head before giving his aunt a slight smile. "Go back to bed, auntie... good night."
With that, he pressed the button and the screen went off. He sighed as he sat down in the seat that Roxas had sat on, rubbing his eyes.
This sucked so bad...
Everyone was quiet for a moment but didn't have any time to react as Roxas came over and huffed, a cloud over his head. They were hesitant to speak but someone had to do it... and that someone happened to be Fuu.
"We're wondering what we should do with Sora..."

"What do you mean what we're going to do with him?" Came the blonde's somber, oppressive voice his eyes turning a shade darker as he looked at Fuu. It made everyone aware whoever spoke next was probably going to get his head chewed off.
Terra sighed. Well, it couldn't be worse then Ven. "We're thinking of leaving him here so we can continue on."
"You're WHAT?!" And there it was. Daggers of blue bored in at the brunette. "Why the fuck would we do that?! We waited for Axel! Is he suddenly less important?!"
Terra didn't even flinch. "Get off your fucking high horse Roxas, you know that's not it. We don't have the kind of time Sora needs to wait."
"I can't believe... how could we just leave him?! He needs us for fuck's sake!" His throat was going dry, maybe in a bit of panic at the thought of leaving his brother behind. What would he think of that? Especially now! When they had left... he had never felt such despair from him before. So much loneliness.
"Then stay with him." Terra said simply. That caught Roxas off guard and he said nothing else.
....Stay?
But... but he couldn't.
He ground his teeth then looked at Riku. "And what did you say about this?!"

Riku closed his eyes as Roxas started to shoot his mouth off, a little vein in his forehead throbbing as he continued to hear the yells over him. However, when Roxas decided that it was time to yell at him, the vein went away and he sighed. His eyes opened slowly before he looked at the furious blonde. "I'm staying, that's what I have to say about this. I'm marrying that man soon... so there's no reason for me to leave."
He paused before continuing. "But... if the rest want to leave or want to stay, that's their decision. I'm not going to deal with you shooting your mouth off at someone if they decide to keep pressing on. Yes, we are all friends of Sora... but we all have family too. Family that is in danger as we speak right now. If that baby isn't found soon, we're all going to need a lot more support than just standing by each others side while we're all drowning. So whoever leaves... they are thinking about Sora. They're thinking about him and the people who stay with him. They aren't thinking any less of Sora... by saving him from drowning..."
The group was quiet as Riku finished. The silverette stood, taking his bag with him before walking down the hall. "I need to go take a walk..."

Blue eyes watched the silverette leave, before sighing and shutting his eyes. He lowered his head until they touched his knees, taking the other's words to heart as he thought them over. He was right, of course he was. They all were. It just hurt... that it was coming to this.
And now they all had a decision to make. Whether to stay or go. He wished... Axel was awake so he could talk to him.
Terra sighed before getting up from his seat, crossing over to where his own blonde lower was still sitting in front of the blank phone. He slumped into the chair beside him and reached out, running his fingers gently through rough blonde locks. "You okay?" He asked.
He didn't know if Ven heard their conversation or not, but he knew they had to talk about it.
Aqua sighed and shared a glance with Fuujin before shaking her head. Things were getting so fucked up. "Well, I dunno about these fuckers, but I want to find a fucking bed for the night." That or coffee. And lots of it. They could decide what to do in the morning.
But she already knew what her choice was. She had water Pokemon. She had to go.
"Ah yes, we transferred him to the ICU early this morning, just to keep a watch on him." The receptionist on day shift was saying, typing in some notes. All new nurses, new doctors, new patients. Well, maybe not all the patients were new. "He'll be up on the third floor in the C wing. You'll have to be buzzed in by the receptionist there."
Clomp, clatter, stomp, tap, tap, tap. A little bing and and a whoosh of doors and up they went with a jerk lifted to the next floor. More clomps, more clatters, stomps and taps. Even a bang once when one of them stumbled and hit a metal tray.
"We're here to see Sora Holani."
"Ah yes, Sussie already let me know." The kind woman said with a smile. "Dr. Riri is in with him now but I'll let her know you're all going in. The room isn't very large and he's sharing it, so please be respectful of our guests. Just head down the third hall, turn left. He'll be in room A107."
Words of gratitude and happiness, hopes and worry. The doors buzzed and they pulled them open, seven trooping in a line, the first to open the door being kind enough to hold it for the others. The halls, looking all the same like some contorted maze, would have been easy to get lost in if they weren't given instructions. Even still, a blonde had to tug a red-head back once when he tried to go down the wrong hall reminding him it was the third.
It wasn't too difficult to find really, and just as they were getting there Dr. Riri was coming out seeming rather tired (it was after all a 12 hour shift) but surprisingly cheerful to see them. "My, and you still are such a large group!" She teased, her spirits seeming high. "Nurse Lily told me you were coming. I was worried you might get lost. Well come in!" She walked in once more, "Sora you have visitors!"
A few moments but then, "Really?!" Came an excited answer, a brunette looking up from where he was trying to eat his lunch. His hands were still shaking, but he was managing to hold the fork.
At first no of this didn't automatically register as strange until, "You can hear?!" Roxas cried.
There was a pause them Sora nodded slowly. He smiled when the first person automatically at his side was a blur of silver and aquamarine.
"His hearing improved once his heart stabilized completely and we were able to move him to the ICU ward. Tinnitus is often caused by chemical imbalances which electrical shocks have been known to imbalance and we're running tests to see if that is the cause. Even if it is not, it might still improve over time though." Dr. Riri informed the rest of the team as they found a spot in the room. "Eyesight has not and probably will not as damage was done to the corneas. He'll need to purchase glasses. Motor functions have improved as expected and should be fully regained within the next few days to a week at most."
She looked down at the male's clipboard, making sure she had covered the range of it. "Strangely the biggest hurdle is usually the least worrisome and that would be the burns. The first degrees are nothing to worry about. They will act like sunburns and peel away as the skin heals. The second and third degrees however will scar and they are very susceptible to infection. The third degrees... will have lost all feeling in those areas and this is probably permanent." Sora surprisingly didn't seem fazed by this, but everyone else was.
"The good news is, he's doing much better then expected for so much damage and I'm happy to say that life will mostly be normal after he recovers. I need to go check on other patients but if you have any questions let Nurse Lily known and she'll page an available doctor." She placed the clipboard back into place, said her goodbyes and left.
The brunette was silent for a bit, poking his fork at the food he was looking down at. "Is she gone?" He asked finally. When someone told him she was (though he had to make them repeat it louder) he smiled. "So... what really shocked me?"

There was no chocolate sex that night.... but that was alright. Ventus really wasn't in the mood.
The doctor's attitude cheered the slightly tired group the next morning. A cheering doctor usually meant very good results. No one was worried when they heard her invitation into the room. Riku was the first through, followed by Roxas and Ven. They were the ones who got the closest chairs, making Axel and Terra stand behind them and luckily the person Sora was sharing a room with seemed to be gone... so the girls sat on the bed.
Riku glanced up at the doctor, nodding as she started to explain the progress. Glasses? Well, looked like Axel would have to share his lens cleaner now. That was ok... Maybe Sora would look hot in glasses. Naughty teacher or---
He frowned when he heard about the third degree burns. He looked down, looking at Sora's hand that he wasn't using and saw that his ring finger was alright.
"Thank you doctor." The spoke before she left, everyone looking at Sora when he spoke.
"Yea, she's gone." Fuu confirmed before they were all taken back by Sora's next question.
They all swallowed before they heard some shifting, seeing Axel reach into his backpack and suddenly pulled out a plush that made everyone's eyes widen.
The plush was handed over to the brunette, a plush of Zapdos. "It was hard to find... along with a working coffee machine. The power in the town is all down because of the electrical storm." He pushed his glasses up before sighing. "Remember when you said 'But maaaan I still never got to see Zapdos or Raikou! I wonder how cool it would be to be shocked by them?' Well... I guess you know how cool it is. Zapdos came down because he saw his sister... and you protected Arcy who was protecting us. He shocked you."
He glanced down at the plush and smiled. "I wanted you to have that...so you could keep your faith in him. I'm sure he's just being erratic because of Lugia.

Sora blinked, seeing something fuzzy and yellow in his face. He tilted his head before setting down his fork, shakily reaching for it. When he focused on it, he noticed it was Zapdos. Not his old plush from home, but it looked very, very similar. He smiled, playing with the little spikes on top of it's head - just like he would some time with his own hair. This was way better then a Get-well Teddiursa!
He looked up as Axel started t speak, tilting his head and listening carefully. Some parts of the words were missing but for the most part he pieced it together. His wish... the wish Ven spoke of. To be shocked by Zapdos...
It happened. THAT'S why he had so many burns. He had thought it had to be a Pokemon, knowing Pokemon's electricity shocked in several areas to disperse power. It was usually to make the attack less fatal, but really left the whole body aching.
He shut his eyes as Axel told him to keep faith on it, concentration expressed on his face. He vaguely remembered now, seeing the path and the two large birds arguing and the Pokemon making a stand. And then those steel eyes narrowing on his tiger dog. that desire to protect her with everything he had so much so the motion was without thought to get in front of her.
"ZAAAAAAAAP!"
"I beg of you let us pass!"
"Sora! SOOOOOOORA!"
"So... I was zapped by Zapdos." He reiterated, just to make sure he had this right. He was confirmed and his eyes opened. "How........"
From the look on his face, people were afraid he was about to burst into tears...
"COOL!" Sora laughed as if this was the best news ever, flopping onto his bed and hugging the plush. "I can't believe it! That's so totally awesome!"
"It is totally NOT awesome!" Roxas spoke up.
"Yes it is! How many people came say they got shocked by a legendary and lived?! Oh man, I should be in a magazine!"
"I think some of his brain cells got fried." Aqua joked.
Sroa continued to chuckled but sombered some, looking at Riku suddenly concerned. "That means Arcy's fine right? She didn't get hurt?"

Everyone's eyes widened as they watched Sora's expression. Riku bit his lower lip, about to glare at Axel when... he heard an excited exclaim!? WHAT!? "Sora!?" Riku blinked as he watched his lover laugh and hug the plush. He couldn't help but start laughing himself, shaking his head. He was already back to his old self. Nothing would change Sora's will. He was....really thankful for that.
"Idiot..." Ven huffed, looking away. And he was so worried...
However, Riku stopped laughing as the brunette looked at him and he nodded. "Yea... she was hit but it wasn't as much damage as if you hadn't interfered. I had her checked out this morning and she's doing fine."
Axel had to raise an eyebrow. Huh, guess he didn't have to get that plush in the first place. He kind of knew that Sora wasn't one to hold grudges, at least not for too long, so he would eventually like the electric bird again but... eh, at least he could sleep with something now that he was bed ridden.
"But Sora, how do you feel in general?" His fiance asked, reaching out and running his fingers gently through Sora's hair.

Terra shook his head at the whole scene but glanced at Ven and smiled, wondering it he was really as miffed as he was relieved that Sora was himself. That pamphlet had scared them all thinking they'd have to deal with a irritable, crying male. but Sora was no more mental then he had been before.
The smile was back, making Sora luagh happily at this news. "Good." At least he knew, whether or not he had the power to breathe fire, blow out ice storms, or form whirlwinds, he could still protect those important to him. He didn't need to be strong of body, he needed to be strong of heart.
His eyes shut contently, smiling at his fiance's touch but at the question he sighed. "Well... they put me on some pain meds so everything is just kind of a dull ache. And everything is still sort of... sluggish and shaky. I'll tremble all over every now and again and I like turn to goo. It kind of reminds me of when Raichu paralyzed me and my body was waking up from it. It's really odd... and that kind of hurts but otherwise I'm okay."
