A pain that went from one twin to another.... came to a third finally. Eyes slowly opened, a deep blue pouring out as they focused. He moaned softly, lifting his head and looking around. His swirly hair was pushed to one side and flat on the other... but it phased him none as he straightened in his seat and stretched a bit. Slowly he looked at the clock, seeing what time it was.
4am.
"Ugh..." He sighed before looking at the group, seeing that the only one up was...Riku.
"Ut... where's Roxas?"
Riku was silent for a moment, seeming to think it over but motioned his head down a hallway. "To the bathroom... but he's been in there for awhile..." His voice lowered some... and Ven got the idea. He stood, throwing the blanket on his lover as she stretched his legs. That was when he saw the book on the seat where Roxas had sat. He stared at it for a good long time before frowning... and headed down the hallway to the men's bathroom.
The door opened slowly and large feet walking in. Blue eyes shifted to look around but the room seemed empty except... for hitched breaths behind the door. He looked around it, seeing his identical twin before closing the door behind him. "Roxas...?" He spoke softly before getting on his knees and embracing his younger brother.

The crying blonde in the bathroom hardly heard the noise of the door opening over his cries, but water blues opening when he heard his name and comforting arms encircled him. He looked up, his breath catching but realized, despite the blue his tears were making, that he was looking at his brother. He leaned against his brother, shivering some as he cried.
"Why... Why did mom have to die Ven...?" The blonde gasped out finally, more tears racing down his cheeks.
Swirled blue eyes opened, hearing something like a towel being shook out, but noticed in the corner of his vision it was the curtain around his area opening (was... he in a shower?!) That didn't make sense though... shouldn't it be louder then that, to open a curtain on a metal pole?
His eyes roved a bit, spotting a figure in blue and she came forth. As it got closer the figure was more in focus until he could see that it was a woman with orange hair and had freckles on her cheek. At seeing him awake she was generally surprised, sparing a glance to that incessant never-ending noisemaker by his bed. The... the heart monitor. Right...
She spoke, but he didn't understand it. Why was she talking so low?
"Where... am I...?" She looked at him, saying... something. When he only stared at her blankly she spoke again before leaving. "W-Wait!" What was wrong with HIS voice?

Ven's eyes widened some as he heard his brother before a wave of emotions ran through him like it did the day he heard from the doctors mouth that she was no more. His lips started to quiver as he took in a shaky breath. Oh... that was right. How could he forget that his mother was dead? So he would stop crying... His eyes closed, tears building up at the seams. "I....I don't know..." He choked softly before pulling Roxas into a tighter hug, bury his face into soft blonde hair.
He know he wasn't helping, he was doing a terrible job at trying to cheer up his brother... but he himself wasn't ready to move on just yet. What would... what would Sora say?
He pressed his lips together, trying to stop his crying and get a hold of himself. "S-she's still with...u-us though, Rox..."
Yea, that wasn't working. He couldn't even convince himself...
Outside, back in the waiting room, a sigh admitted from the silverette. What time in the morning would they be able to see Sora?
He was about to get up to ask but his eyes caught the sight of the book. Slowly he picked it up, running his hand over the cover. He wondered if he or Sora would keep a diary like this when they...start their family. He glanced around, seeing if anyone was watching before he was about to open it.... but stalled before placing it back down into Sora's backpack.
He stood, stretching a bit himself before walking over to the night supervisor. "Excuse me... do you have any new news on Sora Holani?"

Roxas uttered a breathless laugh, shaking his head some. "V-Ven... you're very bad at... being Sora...." He leaned against his brother more, body shaking some possibly from his tears possibly from the cold of the bathroom.
In the back of his mind he wondered what triggered him to finally let go. Was it bring in the hospital? Was it Sora being hurt? Was it the passage in the book? Maybe it was all of it... or maybe it was nothing.
In the end he supposed it didn't matter... as long as he finally let it go.
Back in the rows of chairs, a brunette shifted uncomfortably, his arm suddenly awkwardly chilled. He reached out, searching for Ven so he could bring him back close... then opened his eyes in confusion when his hand kept meeting nothing but air. He looked dimly at the chair beside him, and noticed it was empty. "Huh...?"
He moved his muscles, stretching them from the uncomfortable position they were in and looked around. He saw that Roxas and Riku where missing - oh wait, Riku was at the receptionist desk. He wondered if they had gone to see Sora...?
He glanced out towards the sliding glass doors, noticing it was pitch black outside before looking for a clock, noticing the time. Four in the morning...?
The receptionist looked up as the silverette came forth, not really surprised to see him. The receptionist he took over for said the little team had been there since their friend had been admitted and were obviously determined to stay until they could see him. It wasn't often he saw so many still waiting, so when the silverette asked he had no questions or problems with bringing up the file he'd been periodically checking during the night, being respectful of their determination and was sympathetic to their pain.
It was with some surprise that he saw some new notes entered not three minutes ago. "Ah... actually he just woke up. The doctor is checking him over now. I'll let them know you're still waiting and someone should be out soon to let you know what they've learned."

Ven sighed some as he heard his brother. At least he was right... he was no Sora... He couldn't even try to half ass his way around it. He didn't have the kind of talent that would make people stop and go 'yea, it's not so bad' or 'I can't change anything... and I'll have to accept it.' Where did Sora get all this stuff from?
Heh... Riku was a lucky guy.
Blue eyes darkened as he held onto Roxas tighter, thinking about it all. What about him and Terra? Neither were very...good with emotional... things...
And it scared him that what Terra said was true. He, himself... wasn't almost hurt yet... and neither was Riku...
He shook his head and sighed, slowly helping Roxas up. "C-come on... y-your shivering." He wrapped his arm around his brother's waist before they slowly left, looking down the hallway to see Riku and Terra standing at the desk.
Blinking, the blonde smile. "H-hey... maybe they got some good news..."
As the two walked over, Riku looked at them with a smile. "He's awake."
"What!? That's great!" Ven smiled happily, wiping away some of his tears. "How is he?"
"They'll be coming out soon to let us know."
Still in the chair, Fuu slowly opened her eyes again but this time didn't go back to sleep. Slowly she leaned up, yawning as she stretched and rubbed her messy silver hair. "What's going on?" She asked, forgetting that Axel was sleeping right next to her.... but he didn't seem to wake up.
"Sora's awake." Riku relayed to her, making her smile some.

Roxas sniffled some, but nodded, letting Ven pull him up and tug him out of the room back towards the waiting area where - to his surprise - Terra and Riku were both at the front desk, looking hopeful. And the news... was good. "R-Really?!"
"Mmm... 'bout time..." Aqua stated as the news was given once more to the two girls now awake. The blue-haired woman yawned, rubbing at her eyes as her lover stretched out behind them. They went back to their seats, waiting as patiently as they could (well except Riku who couldn't sit still at all). The male receptionist made a quick call into the ER letting them know the team was still waiting.
"Axel.. hey Ax wake up," Roxas said softly, shaking the red-head some.
Terra meanwhile sat back down with Ven, looking at him in concern. "Hey are you alright...?"
It was some minute later though before any of them saw the doctor. Almost another half hour passed before a woman in white came down the hall, her dark hair pulled up in a ponytail. "Oh my..." She said, seeing the seven of them most of them half-asleep again from the wait. "There sure are a lot of you..." She shook hands with the team, introducing herself as the night doctor, Dr. Riri.
"How is he?" Roxas finally asked, his throat still thick from earlier.
"Well, I'm sure you all are already aware of the burn damage? It's quite a lot from a lightning strike..." She stated, giving her clipboard a glance to make sure she was correct. "More than usual. He was lucky not to have any hemorrhaging or fractures. I almost want to saw he was struck more than once." Of course that wasn't possible unless it was from a Pokemon - but electric Pokemon didn't have the capability of such damage. However she got affirmatives in that area.
She smiled, though it was somewhat sympathetic. "Alright, well since he woke up, we've confirmed that he has some slight optical damage and Tinnitus, which is ringing in the ears meaning possible hearing loss." Before they could get too upset, she quickly added, "Now we will run some tests in the morning to confirm what damage was done and see if it may only be temporary, but I want you all to be aware it is possible these are permanent changes."
She let them absorb this information before sighing and continuing on, "I'm certain also of some memory loss and confusion as he isn't sure where he was when the accident occurred or even where he is now. There is some weakness in his limbs. He was unable to move his arms or legs far or lift himself up much but this will clear with time as his body recovers."
She paused again, before continuing, "Other then that you'll most want to watch out for seizures and sleep trouble, as well as personality change, concentration issues, easy irritability and depression. We have also... discouraged having him see what he looks like quite yet or even made him aware of much of the damage to his body to stray from stressing his mind or body. Though they are common, we've had noted abnormality in his heart and breathing patterns and until we've confirmed a stability for over two hours I've ordered to have him remain unaware."

"Nnnnnnnnghnooo, go buugRo xAs....." Axel mumbled as he was shaken, snorting a bit as he was disturbed. Roxas seemed to pause, probably thinking if he should continue to try and wake the redhead. It was clear that he might just fall back to sleep in a few minutes... so he didn't try again.
Ven glanced up at Terra as he was asked the question and sighed, looking down at the tiles. "Y-yea... I guess."
And it was a good thing that Roxas didn't bother to wake his lover because half the team was almost back to sleep by the time the double doors opened that Riku's eyes were fixed on. The silverette almost jumped out of his chair when she came walking over... but he sat, shaking her hand and introducing himself as the others did the same (except for Axel).
It was the news... that made all their emotions go haywire. There was hope... then crushing news.... then hope again.... than more bad news. It was a roller coaster that just ended up landing with a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Sora... was badly hurt... and... he might not be functional? "Oh Arceus..." Riku whispered, getting the shakes as he buried his face in his hands.
"T-that can't be true." Ven was the first to speak, making many look at him. "Y-you don't know my brother..." Blue eyes looked up to meet the doctor, a frown forming on his face. "Sora is the strongest person I know... his spirit is unbreakable! You can't tell me he's... he's not going to be right again!"
He felt a strong hand pull him back as Dr. Riri explained again that they weren't sure if it would be permanent.
Riku sighed, his eyes glossed with tears before he looked up at her. "When...do you think we'll be able to see him?"

Roxas bit his lip hard at the news, his gut seeming to twist in knots as he bowed his head. Oh god Sora... How could Zapdos DO this to him? He... he wasn't even trying to hurt him...?
Hearing Riku beside him he reaching out, rubbing the silverette's back, knowing the news must be killing him. It was killing all of them. To think that the bubbly, overly cheerful brunette may never be the same again...
"Ven..." Terra said softly as Ven spoke out almost angrily against the doctor, pulling him back before he could run off his mouth more.
Riri sympathetically nodded. Though she declined to say his spirit would not heal his body, only help him to get past his injuries. "I'm sure he is... but I want you to remember that these effects may lessen or go away completely with time."
Her eyes went to Riku though at his question, and she hesitated before sighing. Usually this wasn't allowed but... "Well... if you think you prepared, I can allow three of you to go back and see him as long as you promise not to disturb the doctors, nurses and other patients. But only for a short time."

Riku blinked, seeing the expression running over her face before she told them what she could do. He swallowed though, looking away. Prepared...? He... he already saw what his fiance looked like. It could... only look better right?
He knew... oh, he knew... it was going to be hard but... he wanted to spend his whole life with this man. This... this was just a trial.
Slowly he stood before looking at both the identical brothers. "I would like...to go see him.... if that's ok with you two..."
Ven was silent as he looked at the floor, unsure if HE was ready to see his brother burnt to a crisp and mutilated. He had only seen his mother...
He took a few deep breaths before he felt Riku shift beside him... then at his announcement. Heh.... Riku wasn't such a bad guy...
Slowly he looked up at the silverette before slowly standing as well. "Well... if you've seen him naked, I suppose you have the right to see him all gross too."
Riku's eyes widened as he suddenly blushed, not believing Ven had said that in front of the pretty doctor. But... he wasn't ashamed to admit that he saw Sora naked. It was a beautiful sight.
He glanced at Roxas who agreed as well and he nodded before looking at the doctor. "We're ready..."

As the question was asked, no one really had any problems guessing who would be the three to volunteer to see the hurting brunette. Riku was the first, of course. Blue eyes looked at Ven tiredly as he got up next. To anyone else he seemed confident, but Terra could see the slight shaking in his hands betraying his fear. He reached out, curling his fingers around one of them, squeezing the fingers gently. "I'll be here when you get back." He reassured softly.
Finally the third stood. "I'll go too..." Came Roxas' soft voice and he stood up, looking apprehensive. He could of kicked Axel for not being awake...
Riri smiled then nodded, turning around and leading them off. Roxas looked back once, sighing as he saw Axel hadn't even bothered to stir. He couldn't really blame him, he was still recovering but... he really needed him right now.
He sighed, walking close to Ven instead, almost wanted to hold his hand like they used to when he was little and scared and they went sneaking around in that cove off the beach - but god he was twenty-two years old! He should be braver then should, should be able to handle situations like this!
Riri opened the doors of the ER reminded the three to not disturb anyone else before leading them around the beds where nurses were looking over vitals and doctors checking clipboards at the ends of beds. "He's in here. We've put him on a higher dosage of morphine because of the pain, so he might be a little groggy. I'll come back to get you all shortly." She pulled open the curtain, letting them go inside before pulling it closed.
When the curtain was first opened, the man was revealed looking quite awake despite what the doctor had just told them. Blue eyes looked up at them briefly before looking back down at his hand eyebrows furrowing a bit as if he was concentrating hard. The rejection stung some until Roxas remembered that he had some optical nerve damage... he couldn't tell who they were. He swallowed some, looking over his brother at the distance. Someone had propped him up in his bed so he could sit up, possibly for some of the tests Dr. Riri had him do.
Riku had thought right though - Sora did look better now. Some of his skin was still puffy, swollen, red, and very sore-looking but the worse damage, the second and third degree burns, had been wrapped under bandages. There were quite a few on his neck, arms and face, so much it briefly occurred to Roxas to tease Sora about being a mummy... if only it would actually be funny.
But it was what his eldest brother was doing that was really keeping him back. His eyes were gazing down his lips pursed as he looked at his left hand intensely, some of the fingers and the back of it covered in small band aids. Every now and again the fingers would twitch or separate about a centimeter or so, but this still seemed to frustrate the brunette and he gave a small groan of anger. It was obvious he was trying to pull them apart completely or curl them into a fist...
and he couldn't do either.
Riri... said it was only temporary though right? R-Right?

Ven looked back as he heard his lover, a smile being shared between them before Ven pulled away and walked after Riku. He was kind of shocked with how close his brother was walking next to him... but then he remembered that he didn't have much support. Narrow eyes looked back at the redhead but they widened a fraction when he saw Axel shivering. Aqua pulled a blanket around him before pulling him close for warmth. It seemed like he really did need some more recovering...
They wanted into the ER, seeing nurses and doctors working by bedsides or movement behind curtains. It was oddly busy... Had something bad here happen while they were gone...?
Or was it...?
He shivered, looking away violently when the curtain to another patient opened for a moment... and he had looked inside.
The man.... looked just like his mother.
Most people in here... were in for Pokerus...
He swallowed but the doctor stopped, opening a curtain for them and oddly enough, he felt enlightened when familiar blue eyes looked at him.... until his heart sank when Sora looked away.
It was easy to tell that Riku thought the same, along with Roxas.
When the curtain was closed around them, Ven and Roxas kept their distance, watching Sora seem to struggle with opening his hand. It was a hand that once held a precious ring... that was no longer there.
"Sora...?" Silver hair shifted as Riku walked around the bedside to come up to the brunette. He pulled up a chair quickly and sat down close. He reached out, wanting to take his lover's hand and rubbed it but he froze. It would... probably hurt him.
What would of happened if Zan hadn't pushed them all away? Would they all end up like this...or worse?
The idea made Ven shiver before---
Eyes widened as everything suddenly went black, heads shifting to look around. There was a loud sound of thunder before the lights started to flicker back on and a humming could be heard. The electricity was cut... and now the hospital was running on generators. They all looked over, seeing Sora's heart monitor starting again.
What was Zapdos doing out there...?
Riku didn't seem to care, his eyes glued on Sora. "Hey... I'm me.... Riku..."

Sora sighed some, still completely lost. He felt like he was in his own world, and he couldn't stop the slight irritation he felt as the nurses (possibly one of them was a doctor) came in. What did they want now? It was bad enough he'd found he couldn't move his body, that he couldn't really hear and had trouble seeing anything far away and that he seemed to be covered in a dozen cuts he still didn't understand but he had so many questions no one was answering!
So many questions... about what had happened? What happened to him? Where was everyone else? How LONG had it been? Had... had they abandoned him? To keep going? On their... mission right? They were on a mission right or was that a dream?
"---a," He heard faintly but disregarded it. He was done doing those stupid little tests. They hurt. Didn't they get that?
The lights went out, making his body tense some, a loud noise rumbling in his ears though it sounded like nothing more then wind shaking the building rather then what he was sure it really was. Then the lights were back on and everything was fine again... except for that stupid noise and this stupid doct-
"Eh.... mmm -e... -iku?"
Blue eyes went wide recognizing, if nothing else 'iku'. His heart monitor started to speed up, squinting towards the nurse or doctor or whatever, about to shout and scream until he or she of whoever brought him Riku when his breath caught as the figure came into focus, his heart beat slowed... and then sped again. He knew that hair... moreso he knew those eyes.
"R....Riku...?" He whispered. The other responded and though he didn't understand even a word of what he said, he recognized that tenor. Would recognize that voice even underwater. It was Riku, without a doubt.
And he could neither hear him nor completely see him. He had wanted nothing more to see Riku but... he didn't want Riku to see him. Not like this.
So why were tears of relief coming to his eyes? "R-Riku... you're here..."

At Sora's voice... and realization, Riku grew tears of his own. He remembered... He nodded, smiling the best he could as he pulled silver strands behind his ear as he leaned closer. "Yea... Ventus and Roxas are here with me..."
Sora spoke again and he realized that his lover couldn't understand him. That was... alright though. At least he knew who he was and that was what was important right now.
So he nodded slowly so Sora could somewhat see it. He looked over at the blonde brothers and waved them over.
Blue eyes shifted, looking at each other before Ven slowly walked around the other side of the bed, pulling Roxas along... by holding his hand.
They stood there, looking down at their brother... and even if it hurt seeing him like this... they knew they had to. Just like when they had to see their mother. Sora needed their strength.
"Hey... Sora..." Ven spoke slowly, leaning over so it would be easier for the brunette to see him. "It's Ven..."

He heard the muffled words, but didn't really care what Riku was saying because he was here. He was here and that was all that really mattered. "I missed you..." He murmured finally, knowing that probably wasn't the right answer. But it was a very true one. Ever since he had woken up, it was the first thing on his mind.
Roxas meanwhile hesitated where he was, seeing Riku waving them over. He didn't think he could. seeing Sora just from here made him want to cry. Even when Sora broke his ankle when he was seven and they had to help him around all the time, the male never seemed so helpless before.
He felt a little bit of strength though when Ven took his hand and tugged him over, following obediently. He watched with bated breath as Ven leaned forward, Sora turned his head at the call curiously then squinted at Ven too. It was familiar to Roxas... Axel did it all the time when he didn't have his glasses on and had trouble seeing.
But then finally. "Ven?" The brunette seemed even further relieved, so much so he could feel it like a ghostly twinge through his body, making his muscles relax. Had... had he thought they left him? "I...I'm glad to see you... Well sort of." The end note was a bit bitter.
The second blonde bit his lip but leaned over too, close like Ventus had. "Sora...?"
His eyes darted over to him, and this time he had no trouble. Probably because a Ven blur and a Roxas blur was the same. "Hey Roxas." A frown suddenly dotted his features. "Are you okay? You were crying earlier." He was about to answer then Sora sighed aggravated, mumbling almost to himself "Wait, why am I even asking? I can't even hear you answer."
The blonde paused then, "Oh..." He let go of his brother's hands, reaching into his pockets where he grabbed some slips of scrap paper from the receptionist to doodle some music notes on. Sometimes when Axel couldn't find his glasses when he needed to read, he sometimes just had to hold the paper as close as he could, since he was far-sighted. He could guess it was the same for Sora, since he hadn't been able to tell who they were. He took out a pencil and wrote 'Can you read this?' quickly on it before reaching out, holding it close to his brother's face. The brunette blinked before squinting, eyes running over the paper.
"Yeah... I can read that."
The paper was taken away then showed back to him a few moments later.
'I'm fine. It was just about mom. But you need glasses.'
"Glasses?! Why? What even happened to me? I mean... did I fall off the sled?" A long pause then, "...And what about mom? Is she okay?!"
It looked like... Sora didn't have as much as his memory as they had hoped.

Ven rose an eyebrow as he watched his brother pull out a loose piece of paper and started to write on it. He tilted his head some as he put the paper so close to Sora's face, he didn't know how anyone could even focus on it... but Sora responded. Well... at least he knew how to read. He was about to ask Roxas how he came up with the idea to do that when he remembered seeing him do the exact same thing up in the village to Axel when he didn't have his glasses.
Unfortunately for him, Terra's eyesight was 20/20... or even more so. That fucker saw everything.
However, at the questions, everyone paused and glanced at each other. The doctor didn't want Sora to know what happened... and Bryna...
Ven suddenly took the piece of paper and started to write on it before placing it where Roxas had before.
'Something happened that you always wished for, which is why you're here. And mom's fine.'
Sora seemed a bit confused before something good... and bad happened.
The curtain was pulled and a man in a white coat looked in. His skin was dark, about a shade tanner than Terra and with jet black hair but his eyes were a bright blue. He blinked as he saw all of them before smiling nervously. "Dr. Riri sent me here to ask you to let him rest now. She is busy with an emergency call."
Riku sighed but he nodded before taking the paper as well and started to write.
'We have to go now but we'll be back in the morning. Get some rest and remember that we're here, giving you support. I love you.'
Sora said his said good byes before they left the small bed, the curtains being drawn as the man started to lead them out of the ER, a clip board in his hand.
"Umm... are all these people in here for Pokerus?" Ven suddenly asked, trying not to look around to much.
"Yes, unfortunately. The epidemic just hit these parts a few days ago."
He nodded before swallowing. "Are they... going to die...?"
"Hopefully not now that they think they found a cure."
All three of the men stopped, making the medical assistant stop and look back. "What is it?"
"When did they find the cure!?" Ven blinked, unable to believe...
"Oh... well... back in Kanto, a few brave volunteers went in for antidote testing. I guess it was really rough but one of the volunteers showed great results for the one he was being tested on. I believe it was in a place called Saffron City."
