Ven blinked a bit as he was shaken by his shoulders and looked up at the sweaty black haired man. Even if they were.... not together anymore... Zack was still a gorgeous guy... hot....damn....
He shook his head and he snapped back into it. "Zack... Terra got sick again and went to the hospital." He could see Zack's face twist with worry.
"And... they ran some test and found out he has.... he has cancer, Zack!" He bit his lip and looked down. "T-they said it was curable... but he almost died this time.... and.... I just have this bad feeling... You... you need to come home!"

Zack frowned as Ven spoke, his eyebrows turning downwards and his eyes turning dark as he heard his little brother was sick. He had experienced it so many times in his life... and yet each time he couldn't help but feel that old brotherly care boiling up. He always promised he'd take care of Terra - whenever he was little and didn't quite understand he actually tried to help Terra fight his sicknesses by fighting the 'monsters' in the closet and under the bed and in the dark shadowy corners. It never really worked, but it always made his brother smile.
"He has cancer, Zack!"
The man's eyes went wide at this new and shocking information. His brother... his baby brother had... had cancer?! For how long?! When did this happen?!
He blinked and swallowed trying to ward off the sudden tightening in his throat and gut as Ven kept talking about his brother's near death and he shook his head. He... He wanted to. God, did he want to. But...
"Ven... Ven I can't just leave The government sort of... owns my ass now."

Ven's blue eyes looked up as Zack started to speak. The look on his face changed from sadness... to angry. The pink cheeks grew dark as so did his eyes as he tightened his fist.
"SO!? FUCK THE GOVERNMENT! THIS IS YOUR FUCKING FAMILY!"
The guards around frowned, slowly stepping towards Ventus in motion to drag him off.
"You're his big brother, Zack! HE NEEDS YOU THERE!" When he felt hands around his arms, he pulled them away violently. "GET THE FUCK OFF ME!"
He looked back at Zack and frowned. "Fuck them, Zack! You're family needs you!"

Zack blinked in surprise as the other yelled.... at him. In ALL the time they had been together, sure he had listened to Ven rant over his parents, over his brothers, over Terra even, but never, not in the whole time they had been together, had Ven actually ever truly yelled at him.
He wondered why... he never noticed before. Had Ven really been so dependent and afraid of losing him in those days?
... Well the trip to the psyche ward answered that.
"What the fuck is going on here?!" And there was Barret approaching them. And his military mates had all paused in there run to watch the disturbance.
Zack laughed, almost sounding relieved, but smiled sadly. "Ven, you realize if I just up and leave they could send me to military prison... Unless I was... discharged..." His eyes seemed to spark as an idea hit him. He looked around seeing the many eyes on them - couldn't get more public than this right?
He grinned at Ven. "Well Ven, you're going to have to help me then." He got a nod - of course Ven would help. "Alright, but remember that this doesn't mean we're getting back together." the look on his face was confused until Zack grabbed his chin and came close, whispering. "Just make it look good." And then suddenly his lips were pressed against Ven's.
His father... was going to KILL him.

Tears of frustration ran down the blonde's eyes as he looked at Zack, wondering if clearing his lungs worked any.
He was definitely back to his old self.
He glanced over, seeing... Mr T!? Wait... no. The fake hand gave that away quite clearly. He was no fool.
He looked back at Zack when he heard his old boyfriend laughed. Why was he....?
Blue eyes widened as he heard the glint of idea in the word discharge. Slowly, he brushed away his tears. Zack was... asking him to help him... get him discharged.
He looked away... but nodded. He didn't want Zack to go to prison because stupid fucks were.... well....stupid.
"Alright..." He could see eyes on them as Zack walked closer... and his eyebrow rose. Not back togethaaah!!
Familiar soft lips were on his, bringing him back to so many kisses they had shared before but unlike before, there was a weird hurt in his heart.
No... I'm not.... cheating on Terra.....
His eyes closed slowly, trying to get his mind set not to actually ENJOY this... but that was easier said that done. Zack said to make it LOOK good..
Pale fingers reached up and ran roughly through the now very short black hair as a tongue flickered. He was let in and the battle started once again. "Mmmmm...."
It definitely.... stopped people in their tracks.

Zack shut his eyes as he wrapped his arms around Ven and brought him close in a familiar way - but their was a huge difference between the then and now. Then, he hadn't ever kissed the blonde in public, now he was purposely doing so.
His lips quirks as he felt the familiar tongue asking for entrance and he granted it tangling his tongue with the other's. His hands were slowly inching down the other's back, making a very obvious and suggestive path towards the blonde's butt when -
"WHAT THE FUCK!? TELLUS MY OFFICE NOW!"
Zack broke away and grinned. "Same as always~" He said, seeing the blonde slightly flushed cheeks. "See you out front." He straightened and nodded to his sergeant, walking off everyone watching him with silent shock before eyes suddenly zoomed in on short teen the man had left behind.

The cheeks did indeed flush, feeling those hands run down his back and towards his butt. He was kind of losing himself in the act when he jumped as the Sargent yelled. He felt Zack pull away... and everyone returned back to Ven's view. Oh man... he forgot they had done this in public....
He looked down and bit his lip before nodding.
When he looked up, Zack was walking after the man.... and all eyes were on him. He suddenly ripped his coat back from the man who took it and put it one before turning. He glanced back at the troops and winked. "You should kiss a boy too.... it feels really gooood~~"
With that, he started to walk off towards the front with a wide grin on his face.... but when he got far enough, his look saddened. He knew Zack always wanted to... join the military... and now he got himself a one way ticket out of there...
He walked passed the gate, the man holding Aerith blinking. "You stop right there." He called before walking over... and started to yell his head off at the blonde.
Good ting Ventus was an expert when it came to letting everything go in one ear and out the other.

"THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING YOU STUPID SHIT ROOKIE?!" Surprisingly it was a short process full of lots of yelling, cursing and a big red ink stamp over his profile that read: DISCHARGED. Barret through the papers in his hands, unkindly told him to get the fuck out, and practically threw him one-handedly out of the office.
Zack sighed but shrugged, hurrying off towards the barracks where his bed was packing up his minimal amount of stuff, shouldered it easily, and started off across the field towards the front gate. He was sure there would be more to it later, probably a trial to officially discharge him, but since he hadn't even been given a true rank or unit it wouldn't be as messy if say he was an official soldier. Not all of the grunts around here made it through boot camp after all, a good portion were sent home due to health issues, inability to cope etc. etc. He just didn't have time to wait.
He;d have to deal with the government later he was sure. Officially have his contract burned. And of course there was his dad who, again, was going to KILL him. Seriously.
Zack blinked as he found Ven at the gate just standing their silently as one of the guards screamed at him. From the faraway look in his glassy eyes, Zack was sure Ven was off in la-la land and not actually hearing a word.
"Alright, alright!" Zack said unhappily as he stepped inbetween the two. "Back off." He turned and grabbed Ven;s arm. "Let;s go." He started to walk towards a car.
"Hey you can't just-" The guard stopped but was thrown into silence as Zack's profile with the big red letters was thrown in his face.
"Yes I can." Zack said with a triumphant grin and continued on his way. He blinked however as he saw someone very... curious standing nearby. "....Aerith?"
He put two and two together surprisingly quickly and shot Ven a glare. "You brought this pretty woman over where the dogs are?! Ven jeez where ARE your manners?!" He hurried over to the pink-clad woman, having the modesty to look embarrassed. "I'm sorry that my friend dragged you down to this place! You see I think he suffers from brain damage or something because he certainly isn't bright!"

Ven DID snap out of it when he heard Zack and looked up. A soft smile ran over his face... though he felt horrible... "ACK!" He cried as he was suddenly pulled away but jerked to a halt as Zack stopped and pushed some papers into the man's face. The blonde couldn't help but stick his tongue out at the other.
He turned and started to walk towards the van... and to Aerith waiting next to it. Ven's eyes widened as Zack started to yell at him, pouting and gaping his mouth... unable to say anything before Zack dragged him over.
The brunette woman chuckled as she covered her mouth and shook her head. "Oh, don't worry. I already know. He woke me up at a very early time of the morning to tell me to come pick you up."
Ven coward a bit as Zack sent him a glare but Aerith lean over to catch his attention again. "But... I don't mind. I'm just glad I can see you again." A sweet smile ran over her face... and even more she she got a smile in return.
Ven blinked as he looked from Zack to Aerith, getting the idea. "Alright! Alright!" He pushed Zack and frowned. "We need to get going! Terra will be out in four hours!"
The three got back into the van, Ven kicked into the back as Aerith drove and Zack was in the passenger side.

Zack blinked as he heard Aerith say that Ven had woken her up early today. His eyes narrowed down on the blond unhappily, seeing his friend cower, but lucky for him the sweet woman didn't hold a grudge. He blinked then blushed a goofy, love-sick grin falling over his face. "R-Really?!"
Aerith only giggled and nodded. There talk was rudely cut short however as Ven stepped in the middle of it all. Zack pouted unhappily but nodded in agreement separating from the female and climbed into the flower van. It smelt like soil and flower petals.
He got comfortable as Ven hopped in back (by Zack's insistence) smiling at Aerith. "Thanks..." He glanced over his shoulder at the blond. "Both of you."
Why hadn't anyone called to tell him what was going on? ...Not even his mom?
It took Zack a little while to get caught up with what was going on with his brother. About the sudden fever, the week long wait for the tests that nearly killed him, the diagnosis of cancer, and the radioactive therapy. Zack's eyes were dark by the end of it, as he slumped in his seat.
"I can't believe my own parents didn't call to tell me..."
After that though they turned to slightly happier things. He learned about how good the flower shop was doing. He learned about Ven's new home. He learned that Aerith was single - this was certainly the most important information of the entire day!
It took two hours to reach Radiant again and Zack sighed happily as he saw his home once more - he hadn't been gone for two long, maybe three weeks, but he had already missed his homes beauty. Oh... and he was totally dying to sleep in again!

Ven rolled his eyes as Zack had asked Aerith is she was seeing anyone. She had just giggled.
"Nope~"
The blonde could already see where this was going. He was happy though. Aerith was a nice girl... and he was sure she would never break Zack's heart... especially not in the way he did.
The ride home was boring again... and even more so now that he was awake for it... but his heart felt lighter as they drove through Radiant. Home, sweet home. Aerith seemed to know exactly where to go. She had driven Terra home ever since Zack had left to the camp. The van pulled up in front of the Tellus home and Aerith smiled at Zack after putting the car in park. "We'll wait for you."
Out of the corner of a young boy's eye, he saw a van pull up. The slightly darker skinned boy (Obviously a relative from Hatori's side) got up and went to the window. "AUNT IDA! THERE'S A FLOWER VAN HERE!"
Ida looked up from her papers and put down her tea as she walked to the entrance hall. She went on her tippy toes and looked out the window. Aerith's Flowers. What was... she doing here.....?
She had already helped them so much with giving them some money for Terra's medical bills.... Ida didn't know if she could possibly--- Blue eyes widened as she saw her....
"Zack...?"
The front door opened and the cold air rushed onto her pale skin.

Zack grinned at Aerith. "Yeah if I survive my dad that is." He joked softly, but none the less he got out of the car, hauling his stuff with him.
He didn't even get half way up the drive before the front door opened revealing the fragile woman on the other end her skin pale and her bones weak but her heart strong. He smiled softly at her, the still morning light playing across the winter snow, his shaven features, his now incredibly short hair (of which he cried over losing), and his brilliant smile. "I'm home mom..."
Hatori could hear noise from downstairs and his eyes narrowed suspiciously. He finished gliding the razor over his chin and put it under the water to clean it then wiped the excessive shaving cream from his face. He straightened and wlaked out of the bathroom, hesitating on the stair steps, looking down towards the front door.

Ven looked out the dirty window of the van, seeing Ida open the door. He smiled as he watched them and looked back at Aerith who was watching them already. "You know... he's really a sweet guy... and I'm sure he'll make you real happy..."
Aerith blinked as she looked back at Ven and then smiled. "Well, I'm sure you're the one that everyone can thank then."
Ida's eyes widened as she heard her son, some tears in her eyes before she opened her arms wide and wrapped them around his neck. "Oh Zack..." She closed her eyes as she felt her son's warmth and a weight of worry had been lifted from her shaky heart. "I... I called the camp and told them about your brother.... and.... they said as long as he wasn't dying.... you had to stay. I told them, Zack... I did.."
Ida knew how her son came back... thanks to a phone call early this morning. Ventus had called her... demanding why she didn't tell Zack what happened... so she had told him the same thing. That was when Ven told her he was going to bring him home himself but Ida thought... there would be no way....
"ZACK!" A happy voice came from behind her as big eyes looked up at him. "You're back!"

Zack smiled as he and his mother met on the snow, wrapping his arms around her. At her words his smiled turned more tender even though he felt betrayed by those bastards back at the camp. How could they...?
"It's alright mom..." Zack said softly, before grinning his body shaking against hers to hold in his laughter. "Well, you'll be happy to know I can never go back."
He blinked though when he heard the happy cry and he pulled away some to look at his cousin and grinned. "Yep I am." He pat the black-haired boy on the head. Good to see you again short-stuff!"
He laughed at the indignant look Braig set him, grinning playfully. He blinked though as a long shadow fell across the snow and he looked up, and up... and gulped. "Hey dad..."
Hatori stood in the threshold, his red eyes narrowed on his eldest son. "What are you doing here?"
Zack blinked as he was given the delicate question and paused to think of how to answer it. "Uh well..."
Silence fell between the two. Hatori sized his child up and shook his head, already figuring out what he needed to know from the expression on his face. He said nothing as he turned and went back into the house.

Braig pouted as his hair was all messed up. Unlike Zack, Braig was NEVER going to cut his hair! AND he'd never let anyone cut it! No one!
Ida smiled at the two before she felt the sudden cold of a shadow. She looked back slowly, seeing her husband looking at Zack. She knew... he wasn't going to like this at all. When Hatori went back inside though, Ida looked back at the van and stuck up her index, indicating 'one moment.'
She hurried both Braig and Zack back into the house before closing the door. As she and Zack walked into the living room where Hatori was, the frail woman suddenly stepped forward.
"You two can do this some other time... but right now, we all need to get to the hospital to make sure Terra came out of his surgery alright."
