Roxas looked at his brother's sad eyes and sighed reaching over and flicking him in the forehead. "Cheer up a little, bro." Sora should of been the one to of come. He would of had a dozen speeches and a million brilliant smiles and would of known just what to say.
Roxas... was a realist. He had several doubts about the medical world and their capabilities. He knew there were limits and if they hadn't found anything wrong with him before... there would be no reason for them to now. And without knowing what was wrong... there was little hope that anything could be done.
The blonde frowned, opening his candy bar, mmm nutritious, and bit into it unhappily. Like Ven, he wanted a nice warm meal.
Hatori sighed looking at Ida, noticing how tired she was. He wished he could just tell her to go home and get some rest, but he knew she would not until she heard about their boy. Terra was going to be the death of them...
Riri smiled sadly, but nodded in agreement. Hopelessness was not... unusual for doctors like them to feel, especially after they've lost a patient. Losing a life brought uncertainity and doubt, pain and hurt... and the sharp bite of failure. No amount of college courses prepared you for the emotional downfalls of the job. If they did, there would be no doctors.
She reached up, patting Yuna's shoulder. "Sometimes... there is nothing that can be done but wait. Put your trust in Terra, and pray he'll keep fighting until then. We can place him into intensive care, keep a watch over him and do what we can to help... but if we lose him... we lose him. I know you don't want it to happen, but we;re doctors. We can't be expected to play God."
Fingers under a blanket twitched. Eyelashes trembled as the watery blue eyes were revealed to the light and quickly shielded again. Everything so distorted, colors clashing together in a dizzy calligraphy. "Uuhn..." So... So hot... Waves of heat... crashing over like waves and leaving nothing but numbness behind. Raspy and weak, a soft voice hardly audible, uttered in the near-silent room. "M...a......m..om..."

Ven frowned at the flick and just took another bite from his bun. Why was this happening? Was this their punishment for cheating...? Maybe if he confessed to someone... ANYONE... just maybe... Well... that was a load of bullshit. Maybe it was all those fucking flowers? Pollen could do something like this right? Well... that was a load of bullshit too. MAYBE... maybe Terra did this to himself to get back at him!
YEA.... if that wasn't complete bullshit.
He looked up at Ida once more, seeing that empty look on her face. He had caused Zack to join the military... and he couldn't help but feel like he caused this too. "Mrs. Tellus...?"
Ida jumped a bit when her name was mentioned and looked over, seeing that her husband was somewhat curious too. "Yes...?" "I'm really sorry.... for everything..." Ida couldn't help but smile as she reached over and took his hand, squeezing it. "Don't be... but thank you."
Hours passed and it was getting late. Everyone seemed to of nodded off at some point, even Ida as she slept on her husband's shoulder.
The door opened and two women walked out towards the five. "Ida? Hatori?" The woman's eyes snapped open as she looked up, a bit disoriented. "Oh! Yuna! Please tell me my baby's going to be ok!"
Yuna sighed as she glanced at the doctor next to her, one that Bryna would know well, before shaking her head. "We ran some test... and I sent samples to the lab to be processed. I told them to clean the samples and present them in a way that I could look at them personally. Hopefully I can find the cause to all this. However..." Ida's face grew more pale as she squeezed Hatori's hand. "It will take a week for the samples to come back." "A WEEK!?" Ida exclaimed and Hatori had to pull her back.
"I'm sorry Ida... but I promise you that we'll take very good care of Terra. He'll be on the top of our list when it comes to care. Dr. Riri has volunteered to be my assistant on this case. When I'm not around, she will be taking care of your son."

As the sun disappeared, so did the two families energy. They relied upon the vending machine for the most part for their lunch. nothing was healthy but no one was willing to leave, just in case news came.
When the mind was not occupied though, it was much harder to stay awake than one could believe. Roxas had curled up in his chair, forehead buried against his knees, amazingly dozing away. Bryna was slouched in her chair and her son's head was pillow on her arm, both of them also out of it. Even Hatori was unable to stay awake, his head resting atop his wife's.
At the call of his name, he stirred though, raising his head and his wife snapped awake as well. Both of them blinked blearily as they looked up at the woman, both hoping for good news. Their hopes were quickly dashed.
The Holanis nearby were also rousing, just in time to hear the bad news.
Hatori reached out, holding his wife back as she exploded. "Darling..." But, he couldn't help but feel similar. Why did it have to take so long? Seven days was nothing when everything was fine but... but a week for their son to suffer? and probably for nothing but an unknown once again?! Jesus fucking Christ!
Dr. Riri stepped next to Yuna when her name was mentioned, trying to act secure and confident even though she felt a tad shy in the presence of the two. It didn't help that one of her recent, former patients, was sitting not two seats away. She remembered Ven well, rarely ever did she get cases like him.
"Hello, I'll do my best to help your son feel comfortable." She said, shaking both the parents hands.
Hatori gave this new doctor a once over as their hands let go, not trusting her very much. But if Yuna did... then he'd just have to put his faith in it.
Their were probably supposed to be questions, lots of them but Hatori was tired of asking when he got no real answers. He was just plain tired... He heaved a sigh, looking between the two woman. There was only one question he could think of that wouldn't mislead him. "Can we go see him?" He murmured softly.

Ventus blinked as his pillow moved. "H-hey..." He would of demanded it back... if he didn't remember that the pillow was actually his mother's arm and that they were in a waiting room. He looked up, seeing the doctors and... one that looked familiar. he rubbed his eyes to wash them away from sleepiness. When his mouth opened to say something though... he was quickly quieted by Ida's outbreak.
He listened to the rest... and realized that he had missed some news. Bad news... Saliva ran down his throat as he swallowed, seeing Ida and Hatori stand up when one of the doctor's nodded and said: "Yes, you can go see him. I'll walk you to the room." With that, the doctor walked the couple away and through some doors.
The blonde frowned as he looked up, seeing the familiar one following them before jumping up. "Hey!" He blinked when he got her attention and looked at the... OH MY GOD! WHO DESIGNED THESE TILES!? "Umm... you're the doctor that worked on me...right?"
Ida held Hatori's hand tightly as they followed Yuna. When the doctor stopped at a critical care labeled room, she opened the door to allow the parents in. Blue eyes full of fear looked up into the red, looking for some strength for her to walk inside.

Riri sighed, following after the three but paused when she heard the call from behind her. She paused, then glanced back and smiled faintly, walking back over. This one had been one of her special cases. It was hard to forget a boy who tried to kill himself in school, and then the next day at home. She had cared for him both times and talked with his family both times.
"Yes I am Ventus. It seems you're doing well since you're already out of the ward."
Hatori nodded at the agreement, standing from his seat and following after Yuna, his hand clasped with his wife's. He could feel her wedding ring...
they were led down a few halls until they entered into the intensive care unit. It was... strangely circular, with a receptionist in the middle, possibly designs so she could see into each of the rooms easily in case anyone needed her.
They were lead to their son's quickly and Yuna opened the door. He paused, glancing at his wife and she looked back. She looked so... breakable. He was afraid what this long week would do to her...
Sometimes... he wished he hadn't given into his wife's demands for a second child. If he had known this was going to be the result...
"Come on darling." Hatori said, giving her a rare, reassuring smile... and walked inside with her.
Terra looked somewhat different from when Ida had seen him last. He still had the machine checking his vital and an IV for water, but also... one for nutrients as well. His face was pale, almost ashen, and his hair dark with sweat. His lips were parted, chapped and dry and he drew in long and unusually loud breathes.
The monitor was reading 107.6 for temperature. His heartbeat sounding a little irregular. Not much, but Hatori's keen ears were picking up on the... strangeness of it easily. Jesus... he looked like he was on his deathbed.
He let go of Ida's hand, stepping forward to his son's bedside. He ran rough, callused fingers lightly over the brunette's forehead before ruffling his son's hair fondly. "Terra..." He murmured softly.
He hadn't been expecting a response. He was shocked when he got one. ".....d..ad...?" Blue eyes cracked open, dazed and full of sickness. He was hardly there. Hatori blinked a bit dumbly, feeling as uncertain about himself as he had when he first held Zack in his arms and had realized with a shot of panic that he was a father. "Hey son..."

Ventus looked down at the floor again before looking back up at her. "Y-yea.... um.... Terra visited me everyday when I was in the ward... he was the one that really made me... appreciate life again..." He looked down once more before continuing. "He gave me a room full of flowers and..." He looked back at his mom and brother before looking back. "I love him..." He whispered so only he and the doctor could hear.
He fiddled with his fingers before closing his eyes. "Please... do everything you can for him. I...I'll be here everyday for him too... but when I'm not here... tell him that I'm thinking about him.... alright?"
Ida swallowed before walking into the room... and the door was closed for their privacy. The room smelt like sickness and rotting, a smell that Ida had known all too well when she was younger. She looked at Hatori as he let her hand go, and he left her side... only to reveal the horrible sight.
She cupped her hands over her mouth as tears started to form in her eyes. A week... he had to suffer like this...? Oh God.... please.... She closed her eyes, hearing his weak voice struggle out of his throat. What did they... what did Terra do to deserve this...?
She shook her head and put the best courage she had in her heart to walk over to the other side of the bed. Slowly she reached into her purse and pulled out something. It was uncapped and she leaned over... and as gentle as a mother's touch could be.... she ran chap stick over those chapped lips.

Bryna and Roxas watched from afar, curiously listening to the two talk. Roxas rolled his eyes at his brother's sappy talk, who was he, Sora?
Riri tilted her head curiously as the boy talked, her smile soft, and even at his admittance her expression didn't change. Her smile widened some and she nodded, placing her hand on the blonde's shoulders. "You have my word, Ven. Yuna and I both are going to give him the very best of care." She winked. "And I'll make sure he doesn't forget you, though I don't know how anyone can forget a cutie like you."
At first, Terra didn't realize it was happening. He blinked confusedly seeing a mesh of new colors invade his vision and then there was a wave of heat that made his eyes shut... and he felt something cool and tingly on his lips. He pressed them together sloopily, tasteing something mint-like and familiar.
"....Mom?"

The blonde smiled... and blushed as she continued to talk. He wasn't much of a blusher... unless it had to do with Zack... and now Terra. He suppose it still had to do with Terra. Her words though... did a lot for him. He could tell by her words and smile that she wouldn't let Terra die. She didn't let him die.
Ida smiled as she heard her son. "Shhh.... save your strength, my little one." She ran her fingers gently through his hair and smiled. "You have a long battle ahead of you... but don't worry. I'll be here everyday... and sing to you... alright...?" Tears ran down her cheek as she held his hand.
She needed to get a hold of Zack somehow. Let him know that his brother was... She knew though that Hatori wouldn't let her call...
The night passed by and not many could sleep. Ventus... oddly enough... slept alright. It must of been his body loving his own bed once again... and for once, in a clean environment.
The next day though, when the Holani family woke up and went downstairs, they were hoping that they could get Ven to open his presents before they went to the hospital again... but there was a note on the table.
Ventus had already taken a bus down there. Sure, he could wake up this early to go to the hospital but forget school. At least it was a Sunday. That wasn't good news to Roxas though... because he had promised to visit Axel today. And he couldn't make any more excuses this time.

"Mmmm..." Terra murred back to her as his sluggish eyes fell shut again.
Hatori watched his son quietly, before looking up at his wife, frowning at her tears. He reached up, rubbing a few away with his thumb. "Come on honey, stay strong..."
When the Holanis made it home, they found Sora asleep on the couch, Halo against his stomach and board games spread across the living room coffee table and the floors. Sirocco meanwhile was studying the scrabble board with confusion and he looked up at Bryna when she came in. "Where did he learn a word like chattel?!"
Roxas meanwhile, dragged his sorry butt into the kitchen for some real food, dragging Ven with him and mumbling something about how he needed to actually eat.
It wasn't long before the five sleepy members and one puppy were trudging up the stairs and into their respective beds.
Morning came. Ven was gone. Sora decided to take Halo outside to play. And Roxas was getting ready for his ride over.
"Honey are you sure you don't want-" "Yes mom I'm sure!" Roxas called back as he grabbed his skateboard from the closet and hurried downstairs. He spread his arms out for his to see, showing he was protected well. Knee pads, elbow pads and a helmet. "Honey it could be icy and-" "Moooom." Roxas said, exasperated. "Just let me go, alright? I'll be fine." Bryna looked unhappy, but a little extra wheedling easily made her change her tune, and soon Roxas was skateboarding down the salted sidewalks. He paused at the end of his street and tugged off the pads and the helmet, throwing them in his bag. Not only did they make him look dorky, but they were useless. He was a pro - he never fell!
He pulled out the directions from his pocket, looking over Axel's sloppy writing. Once he had figured it out, on his way he went. "Alright Axel, let's just see this 'neighborhood' of yours."

The sounds in the hospital were pretty quiet since last night.
Tired feet walked down the hall and then two an elevator. The ↑ button was pushed and the young boy walked into the very small room. A yawn admitted he pressed the ③ button. The doors closed and the elevator started to move. There was a ding... second floor. Then another ding. Third floor. The doors opened to reveal a white wall.
How original.
Why were hospitals white? Didn't that color drive people insane? What happened to a nice baby blue? Or maybe a soft yellow?
He walked down the hallway into an area that he knew fairly well. The critical wing. He sighed as walked pass the receptionist. He knew exactly where he was going thanks to the one on the main floor. Room 333. The blonde turned a corner and walked right towards it. It was right next to the receptionist and next to an emergency elevator.
As he walked in, he hesitated, wondering if he was going to walk into someone completely different. The room was a bit warmer than the hallway as he made his way in... and gasped. Terra was there alright... looking like shit. He was hooked up to IVs and a monitor was beeping every now and then to watch how his body was. There was a heart monitor... and a temperate reading.
108.2
Sweat was rolling down Terra's face and he twitched now and then as Ventus walked around the bed. How could he... just suddenly get like this? A chair was pulled to the side of the bed and Ven sat down. "You... broke your promise."
As Roxas rode down the sidewalk and down a route he knew as the 'school route', he changed one turn that led him DOWN pass water level into an area know as the gallows of Radiant. Some other places would call it the flats. The area was weird, seeing that it was surrounded by walls of blue rock.
The sidewalk was littered in trash and trashcans were overflowing with garbage.
Some cars on the side of the streets were missing tires, windows, hubcaps and mirrors. On the other side of the sidewalk were run down houses and worn looking apartment complexes. Some, if not all the homes had SOME kind of graffiti on it, the rough looking dogs surrounding some yards not doing much to keep the offenders at bay.
It was like this part of Radiant had been forgotten and abandoned from hope.
The sound of the skateboard wheels on the trashed sidewalk picked up on someone's ear. The man grinned as he walked out from the alleyway only to see the blonde skating by. "Hey. Nice wheels..." A sly voice called out to Roxas. When the blonde looked back, he could see an Asian looking boy with a mark in the middle of his forehead, a small black ponytail hanging down from the back of his head.
Behind him though... was more of a threat. A woman and a very LARGE dark skinned man stood behind the first. Roxas understood clearly. It was much the same vibe that Seifer and his gang gave off.

"promise..."
Terra's fingers twitched some as the words ghosted throughout the room, but he didn't respond. All night his temperature had fluctuated, getting as low as 106.5 before it shot back up to something high. Since the sun had risen, the temperature had been pretty steady in the 108s.
Hopefully... it would go down again. They could only hope it would.
Terra himself was hardly aware of what was going on around him. either he was asleep or too out of it to understand - only noises and sound and and garbled words and lots and lots of pain.
Ah... the last one never seemed to go away though, even in sleep.
Roxas continued to skate down the streets, noticing how the quality of the home slowly deteriorated little by little... until he was in Axel's neighborhood. It was... hard to see.
Movies never did compare to realty. It was still hard to imagine people living like this... dirtied streets, broken down cars everywhere, dogs with all bark and no bite, colorful graffiti on the walls... how did places like this exist?
"Axel..." He murmured softly. The red-head had told him a dozen times what a hard place he lived and how much he didn't want the blonde near it... but how could he NOT want company in such a dismal place such as this...?
His feet skittered across the ground when he heard the words from behind and he glanced back. His eyes narrowed and his body tensed as he saw the three. It was like... being confronted with an older, more mature version of Seifer's gang.
Seifer would be the Asian dude, all talk no real threat. The bald man would be Raijin - the brawn but stupid. And the blonde chick would be Fuujin - quiet but a bitch to fight.
"They are aren't they..." Roxas said with a bit of trepidation as he backed away, wheels skirting across the ground. "Yeah cutie mind if we borrow 'em." Okay... not like Fuujin, not like her at all.
He heard some cracking and sent a nervous glance towards the tall, silent man who looked... like he would be able to smash in his head...
"Yes well... Nice meeting you all but I really have to go." Roxas murmured, turning on his skateboard and pushing off, riding down the sidewalk as fast as he could.

Ventus frowned as he got no response. He was only here over night... and he had gotten so bad that he couldn't even reply? What could he... be suffering with? He never heard about this in health class... and no one that he knew of got as sick as Terra.
He pulled up his arm before hesitating... but reached out and took Terra's hand. "H-hey. I know... you might not understand me but... you need to stay in there... alright? You're a big fucking tough guy alright...? You have a week until they just know what's WRONG with you... and then who knows how much longer until they cure you."
He sighed as he looked at the unresponsive face. "If... they find out what's wrong with you." He pulled away and crossed his arms. "I can tell them exactly what's wrong with you. You're fucking stupid in every way, shape and form...." Blue eyes slowly looked over at Terra's face again, sadness and water building in them. "Utbon... ouyon erfectpon oton emon...."
The brown eyes of the Asian brightened as he watched Roxas roll away as fast as he could. He could feel the hidden fear the other had. Seeing that he never saw this boy... and how he reacted... told him he was fresh meat.
He reached out and grabbed a brick that was close by. He reared up and threw it as hard as he could, hitting Roxas in the middle of his back. It hit with enough force and pain for Roxas to fall and the three moved in. "Like I said.... nice wheels you have there..." The man grinned as he snatched up the skateboard.

Terra watched as colors danced behind his lids for each syllable Ven pronounced. A dash of red, a pulse of blue, a spiral of yellow... it was like fireworks.
There was a pressure against his hand, light and feathery almost nonexistent... "-ey. I --- und----- me b- stay in there...----? f----ng..? ----- week un--- ----- WRONG -----... lon--------- cure ----."
A pause, the colors stopped. A breath of air, whispering brilliant gray across his vision like a blanket being thrown over him. Then the dashes of color began again - curving oranges and spiky greens and twisting purples and spots of pink.
"If... ----- find o----. ------------- wrong with you. -----stu----- form.... ---------- erfectpon ---- emon"
Silence... and then he felt something else that made a silver-white spark like lightning over his vision... something wet and cool on his hand. .... Water? Terra shivered faintly, fingers twitching against Ven's weakly.
Roxas kicked his foot across the sidewalk hard, trying to go faster. He didn't hear footsteps following and presumed he was safe - until something hit him with enough force to knock the air out of him. With a squeaky cry he went tumbling to the sidewalk, his hands splayed out in front of him in a futile attempt to stop him from falling.
His vision blanked for a second as his palms scraped against the ground then his elbows and knees smacked into the concrete with soft cracks. His body fell against the cold cement, blue eyes dilated as he blinked away the haze of pain. He could hear talk over him and he looked up dazedly, seeing his prized skateboard in the man's hands. "That... was a fucking... cheap shot." Roxas hissed suddenly, his breath a little labored as his limbs and back screamed at him. His pack fell from his shoulders as he sat up, scowling. "Give it back!"
He jumped up and rushed at the Asian man, but he got barely two feet until the bald one was in his way and a fist of stone was in his stomach. Roxas choked and coughed, stumbling backwards as an arm curled around his middle and he fell to his knees, a hand pressing against the sidewalk to keep his knees from touching the ground.
He was still trying to catch his breath when a heeled boot stepped on his hands and put pressure against the scraps and the bones. Roxas grunted in pain, looking up at the blonde female. "How dare you try to hurt Tseng you no good worm!" The woman hissed as she started to apply more pressure. The bones of his hand were started to creak. Tears sprung to his eyes and he growled. "B-Bitch!" He winced as that only mad her madder, and in a desperate attempt to keep his hand from breaking he... did something his mother would disown him for.
His hand shot up and grabbed onto the female's private area, feeling the disgusting mix of fleshy folds and a squishy center - ugh, gross - but it was enough of a surprise. "AIIIEP!" The girl squealed as she jumped backwards. Roxas brought his hands close to him, cradling the now very sore one. "YOU FUCKING PERVERT!! TSENG KILL THIS BASTARD!"
Maybe... his hand hadn't been worth it.
The blonde scuttled backwards like a crab, trying to get away from them, trying to make his racing mind calm enough so he could remember how to get up and RUN.
He was so fucking dead.

Ven didn't notice that some tears had dropped onto Terra's hand. He looked down as he felt the twitch, finally noticing them. Gently, he rubbed them away before wiping his face. The blonde slowly got up and sighed, pulling his hand away slowly before letting the darker hand drop. "I'll be back soon... ok? I'm just... a little hungry."
He knew there was a cafeteria here and he wasn't going to each any more junk from those vending machines. He walked out slowly, his eyes not leaving Terra... in which he almost ran into someone. "Oh! Ven?" He stopped and jumped a bit, snapping back into reality as he looked up and saw a familiar woman. "O-oh... hi Aerith..."
They didn't get to far as the two sat down and started to talk. Ven told Aerith all he knew and all she could do was shake her head and hold back the tears. But... she was still strong. "Welllllll, if he said he'd be there, he will!" "Huh?" "He promised you didn't he?" "Well... yea but---" "He doesn't know that he missed picking you up... so he must still have that determination." "Y-yea..."
Blue eyes looked out to his best friend and sighed, slouching a bit. "We had some ideas too... we were going to get our own place and live together... I thought being independent might help me with my pain management and... now we'll have to wait until he's 100% and then with the hospital bills--" He blinked when he got a pouch put in front of him. "W-what's that?"
"Munny." Aerith laughed. "M-munny? For what?" "Welllll from what I heard, you need to play first and last months rent right? So... that should cover it." "WHAT!?" Ven's eyes widened as he looked into the pouch, seeing all the 20 munny orbs. "Do you NORMALLY carry this much munny with you!?" "Shhhhhhhhh, quite down." She smiled. "Terra already told me about getting a place with you... because he loves you..."
Blush ran over the blonde's face again. Terra... admitted it to his boss...? "So... I knew he was sick and I knew you'd be here... so I brought the munny." "But Aerith, I can't---" "Not everyone has a father like mine. I believe that you should follow your dreams and do what will make you happy. I knew if I could get a flower shop... I would be the happiest woman in the world. So... my father bought me one. Now... dreams always have to have some sort of price ticket on them... don't they? I want to help you and Terra with your dreams.... so please, take it and find a nice place for you two to live in."
Ventus looked at her, then slowly down at all the munny. "And I'll give you Terra's paycheck... to help with rent and what you need for your place. And I'd like to help his parents with the medical bills as much as I can. You know... Terra's very special to me too." Ven closed his eyes and smiled before giving her a huge hug. "Thank you..."
"WHERE ARE YOU GOING!?" A woman called from the kitchen in the very hazy home. "I'm going out for a smoke!" "WELL BUNDLE UP!" "YEA, YEA!" The redhead rolled his eyes, already bundled up. He walked out of the apartment and onto the stone steps. The winter chill reminded him how much colder down in the gallows were.
He pulled out a cigarette from behind his ear and pushed it between his lips before taking out his lighter. He cupped his hand so the wind wouldn't take out the flame as he lit his coffin nail and shoved his lighter back into his pocket.
Green eyes scoped around, seeing the lovely views of his neighborhood. He couldn't help but get a bad feeling as he heard some yelling around the block. Roxas should of been here by now. He had better not to of tried walking down here by himself... He could hear the calls of his old gang and frowned. Black boots walked down the stone steps as the redhead decided to see what might be going on over there.
The black hair man didn't even budge as the little blonde boy rushed at him. He knew he was covered.
His brown eyes watched as he saw the boy whimper in pain, not knowing when he should shut up and--- He gasped as he saw the prick grab onto the girl in a place that no one was fucking stupid enough to do. He growled as his eyes narrowed, pushing in front of the bald and woman of his gang. "Stupid fucker. Is this skateboard really worth your life?"
He handed the board to the bald man before walking towards Roxas as Roxas stumbled back. His well polished shoes and his nice suit were hit with the cold chill of the winter as he reached into his blazer... and pulled out a 1970 HK VP70Z. A... real one.
The gun was pointed at the blonde's head as he continued to advance after the stumbling boy... but Roxas seemed to stop as the barrel was pointed right between his eyes. "So like---" "HEY! HEEEEEEEEY!! STOP!!" Tseng frowned as he looked up, spotting a redhead running towards them. "Axel..." The man pulled the gun and straightened, seeing Axel coming at them at full speed.

The colors behind his eyes lids trembled as footsteps caused slight splashes of color... and then a pair came back, sounding louder. How much time had passed?
Then suddenly there were the garbled voices again, one full of dark and brazen colors - dark red, sunshine yellow, sapphire blue, forest green, burnt orange, cerise pink and amethyst purple. And then... though it took his muddled, hazed mind a few moments to figure it out, there was a second person talking... someone softer and lighter - carnation pink being the most prominent, then sunflower yellow, rose red, iris purple, cornflower blue, tulip orange, and orchid green followed.
Images surfaced in his mind, tried to remind him of who these two were. All he grasped was swirly blond hair and a pink ribbon. And then... the named whispered in his ears from some far off memory... .... Ven.... Aerith....
His fingers twitched again, though it went unnoticed as the talking stopped. Then there was a soft ping that drew the two's attention. At first, neither of the two were certain what happened... Until they looked at the temperature monitor. 108.1.
Roxas started up at the Asian gritting his teeth in a pathetic attempt to look tough. No... no his skateboard wasn't worth his life, but his hands were. His music was. But, the life of a musician was something these ruffians wouldn't ever understand.
That was when he was pretty sure his life flashed behind his eyes as... the leader of the gang pulled out a gun. Now his fights with Seifer were bad, but they had never, ever brought weapons into the mix. They had some honor.
He didn't know the make, the year, the type, or even what bullet its held. All he knew... was it was a gun. A handgun. And it would do the same job any shotgun could, just less messy.
His legs were screaming for him to run, his mind feeding him the statistics of how often a criminal actually shot someone in a vital area and that he should be actually TRYING to live here - but when the barrel of the gun was pressed against his forehead, he knew it was all over. His brain came to a terrifying and screeching halt and his body, full of adrenalin and fear, shook all over.
I'm gonna die. Oh my god, I'm gonna die! He repeated over and over in his head as tears filled up his blue eyes.
"HEY! HEEEEEEEEY!! STOP!!" What....? "Axel..." The Asian murmured, and suddenly the name was like God... because the gun was pulled away. But Roxas didn't dare tear his eyes away from the three. He had half a mind to run... but didn't.
