"You didn't sneak into the palace did you?" Sippai asked, trying not to sound too accusing. He didn't want to hurt his son's feelings or anything - he knew he hadn't been home much.
"Nut-uh! Jet showed me here!"
Some of the other men couldn't help laughing softly either. They all knew Gin - maybe not by face but Sippai mentioned him often during his pick-me-up speeches. His dad really loved the little guy.
"Jet?" Sippai responded, his brows furrowing and he looked up. It couldn't be the same... but it was. The prince was watching them with a smile. He grinned in return. "Why thank you little prince for bringing my son to me."
Gin glanced over towards Jet as well and decided right then and there they were to be friends.
"Well I sure hope not." Hatori said as he walked after still, making idle conversation that was throwing him lowering and lowering into the ground. "It wouldn't be fun to try courting a weakling." He had, in all hoenstly, just decided right then and there that she would later become his mate - if she met his standards. She was already unique and different - which scored points in his eyes.
But she still needed to prove she could live up to the Tellus name.
He did miss a little detail though. He also needed to catch her eye and make him worth her while. Some women Atterians were incredibly stubborn. Like his mother.

The boy blinked as all eyes suddenly turned to him. A blush ran over his face, a little shy at all the eyes. He blushed even more when he heard the kind thanks from the captain. All he could do was wave and giggled, feeling the happiness in his small little body amount. He wanted to do things like this everyday! It was exciting and fun... and the ending was the best part!
Even at a young age, he got a boost of how he would want to reign as king... but that wouldn't be for a long while.
He slowly opened the door and left the other's in peace as he walked back inside. He would stay here until that boy, Gin, came back. His eyes widened though as he heard some cried down the hall. The... horribly familiar ones. "I was writing a letter to--- No! I have no business with her! Her son---- You didn't let me finish!"
Jet winced as he slid against the door and covered his ears. He had to listen to this... every day... you'd think one would get use to it... but it hurt so much... He hated fighting...
The girl continued to stomp away, growling that the boy was still following her. He had never been a pain before... so why was he bugging her now? All she wanted to do was get home and do her hom--- She stopped dead and heard the feet behind her stop too. Her blue eyes widened as she looked back at the boy.
Slowly she pulled her hand up, brushing away the sanded tears from her face, those blue eyes never leaving the red. Those eyes narrowed and she quickly looked away, continuing to stomp back to her home that was only a few feet away now. Her brown hair pressed onto her pale skin as she got into her house and turned around.
She looked back down at the boy and frowned. "See you tomorrow Hatori." With that... the door was slammed shut.

Sippai chuckled again. The kid had a good ehart - even he could see that now. Hopefully when he took reign it would not be as shaky as these times were - what with the constantly absent queen. He looked down at the silver-winged boy still snuggling into his chest.
"Hey Gin?" "Yeah dad?" "Wanna see their drills?" "Yeah!!" He smirked then and stood, giving an evil look to his army. "You heard him! I want 15 laps right now! Everyone show my son what you can do!!"
That day Gin spent most of his time with his father, watching the roders he called, the encouragement he gave the work he did. It was all so very interesting. It wasn't long before Jet joined him in watching and the two giggled and laughed together. It was the start of a good friendship.
Hatori was silent as they met eyes and was a little upset when she walked away without a world. But then she seemed to pause, as if she had forgotten something and she turned back to face him. "See you tomorrow Hatori." And then the door shut with a loud Bang! But Hatori couldn;t of been prouder.
A grin that he didn't quite understand spread across his lips, and he hurried off back the way he had come. He had won something there - he just knew it!
However, Hatori did not get far before he felt a hand curling into his hair and throwing him into the ground, effectively shattering his mirth. He looked up into furious yellow eyes. Oh yeah, he had forgotten about his brother...
'Come on Jet! It'll be fun!" "I don't know..." "You know you want to! Being cooped up in this stuffy old room ain't gonna make you happy!" "But you got into so much trouble last time..." "It's worth it! Come on pleaaaase?" A chuckle. "Alright alright." Wings fluttered as the boy flew from the window meeting the ten-year old on the ground. "That didn't take much convincing." "Hey shut up!" Laughter and then rapid footsteps quickly running across grass.
Gin whistled happily holding a bag between them that the two every so often dug out some blue, pillow stuff from, sticking it in their mouths to let it melt into sugary goodness. The bag was labeled 'Fluffy Stuff' otherwise known to most humans as cotton candy. Gin had used the little allowance he made per week to buy it for them - Jet desereved a treat or two every now and then.
Man back when he was younger he thought being a prince would rule - but knowing Jet for so long he knew that just wasn't true. The little prince never got to have fun - he was always studying, or practicing or listening to his parents fight. The moment gin got to realizing this, he made it his life's mission to bring more joy into the boy's life. The quick walks around town King Sorias gave him just was not enough!
Now, three years later, he and Jet had gotten into more trouble then they could remember - though his scoldings always tended to be worse cause he was older and more resposible. Then again everyone was getting used to their antics together. And it wasn't like Jet never did any good outside those walls - he helped lots of other kids. In fact he tried to do that each time they came out. He wasn't sure if he apporved of that or not. He wanted his friend to taste a normal life. "You know when you get older you should be a king that hides his wings." "What why?" "Cause, you'll fit in better silly! You could start running around town and not being a king if even for an hour." "Daddy says times never stops for a king." "Yeah well, when you're king they're your rules to change!"
Gin was now ten, and his wings were hidden. Had been for six monthes now. Since he was still so young, that showed a real sign of strength. Most kids did not learn it until their teenager years. "You heard from my father yet?" Gin asked curiously, as he took another bite out of his cotton candy. His dad had taken a small troop of to the water nymph world, Juturna. Apparently a small distress signal had come from there, but his dad had said it would be a short mission. He'd been gone for two weeks.
"I'm so sorry your majesty!" The panicked professor said, his yellow wings missing but from his bright attitude you could almost see them in his eyes. Of course his attitude was no so bright right nw and he bowed at the king's feet, head tocuhing the floor in shame. "I turned my back for a second to get some more paper and then he was gone!" He was a new professer here however and didn't know it was customary for the prince to dash off during lessons - hence why he was so panicked. First day on the job Latium and you lose the prince! Of all the stupid, idiotic things you could do! The teacher, obviously named Latium, berated himself.
Hatori hummed a old folk tune of their peoples that went along the lines of battle and bloodshed and death and victory and oh such fun things as that as he came down the stairs. He said a quick goodbye to his mother, avodiing the strike she sent his way easily and stepped out the door. His reflexes were getting better.
Or maybe it was just because mom always did that. He knew his brother Xigbar was still fast asleep in his bed - and was going to be late for class. Not like he cared. Xigbar was 14 now and he wasn;t sure what it was about that age but most kids of that age skipped school - and for his big brother it seemed he had skipped more days at school than their were grains of sand in their desert. Then again, he could change now - so dad and mom let him. Hatori could only call up his claws so far - he didn't know how much longer it would take to fully change.
But Hatori... he still went. He went everyday. Oh not to learn. He could give less of a damn how the planet spun around the sun or how wonderous 3 times 456 is. No all he cared about was the cute brunette who sat two seats to the right of him in - ugh- the front row. The things he did for potential mates.
He jumped up the steps to school, avoiding the many messes already in the hall. Some poor fucker was laying on the ground his head cracked open and blood pooling everywhere. Ah well, he was weak anyways. He dodged any on-going fights - making sure to take a peek at who was fighting who, before he slipped into the classroom, ignoring any gesturing taunts made his way. the morning was never a good time to try and pick a fight with him because either he A) ignored it, B) got annoyed that someone was interruppting his missions and kicked their ass or C) missed class and made sure that person was going home in a bodybag.
And there she was - waiting when even the teacher was not in. She avoided confrontaion as best as possible. Especally by getitng here early so those that wanted to get their blood up and running for the day would stop using her as a target. She was not a morning person under any circumstance. He found it hilarious and annoyed her as best as possible.
He hummed as he sidled past her desk, snatching up her pen and going on his way to his desk, teasingly waving it at her. "You fucking think too damn much." He looked over the pen. "It's obvious 'cause see, no damn teeth marks. Heres howyou do it." He stuck the bottom of the pen in his mouth, biting at the plastic just like he did his own pens. She always told him his teeth marks were 'signs of distraction'. Pfft. Women.

A green cloak flapped in the wind as saddles padded the bricks. Some fluffy blue stuff was popped in a hungry mouth and smiled as it started to melt, a lovely flavor filling his mouth. Blue eyes looked up, seeing the sideways cross of balance shining in the sunlight.
His old professor told him that the real name of the symbol was called Atalanta and was made by the ancients who had built this kingdom. They were swift hunters and lived in peaceful clans all over Norn. One day, the clans all got together and built this kingdom, believing everything should have balance.
A soft smile arose again bit he blinked, looking over at this friend. "Sappai...?" He frowned and tilted his head, continuing walking against the crowd. "No... I haven't heard about anything." He knew his father was on edge about it though. He would pace the throne room to see if a winged message would get to him. Jet... didn't want to say anything though. His friend didn't have to be more worried that he already was.
He smiled at the other and nodded. "Hey! Let's go to the forest today!" He grabbed his friend's arm and yanked it in another direction. He giggled as his cloak flapped in the wind as they headed towards the gate. He knew the forest would take bad things off his friend's mind.
They walked down the dirt paths that soon brought them to the great woods. The sunshine peered through the treetops peacefully and the prince smiled. He loved it out here. "Let's head to the swamp." He pulled his friend and ran over the fallen logs towards the swamp. As they grew closer, his running turned to a trot and slowed down to a walk. He smiled, hearing a familiar song.
Blue eyes looked up at the treetops, quickly finding the source of the beautiful voice. A pair of yellow wings. The purple wings weren't up there today. He stopped below the tree and watched the young girl sing her lungs out. There were no lyrics, just her vocals called out in an ancient hymn.
When she finished a verse, the prince cupped his hand and called out. "HEY UP THERE!" There was shifting in the tree before some noise came down to them. Yellow wings flapped as the small girl flew down to them and landed. Bright green eyes looked at the two boys, her straight, golden hair falling over them. "Hey!" She waved cheerfully, her smile large as she close her eyes.
Jet looked at Gin who seemed to be a bit bashful and smiled. He walked over to the girl, not much older than him and frowned. "What are you doing out here all by yourself? It's dangerous you know..." The girl blinked and smiled happily. "Dangerous? It's not like their's Renki around or anything." She giggled.
Jet blinked and tilted his head. "Renki....?" The girl looked shocked, her bright yellow wings fluttering. "You never heard about the Renki before?" Jet frowned, thinking. He didn't remember hearing that name in any of his teachings. "N-no..." The girl giggled more and shook her head. "Boy! Where do you come from???" Jet laughed nervously and rubbed the back of his neck. "Well... I am the prince...so I guess the palace?"
The girl's eyes widened and she suddenly curtsied. "Oh, I'm sorry..." She giggled as she stood right and put her hands behind her back. "I'm Firi~" She giggled and tilted her body to look behind at the dark haired boy. "And who are you?"
Sorias frowned as he watched the man bow. "Sir Latium... it's quite alright. I can't seem to get Jet to stay put." He stood, his own cloak fluttering. He put his hand on his hip and sighed, shaking his head. "He's probably at the Wood." He looked down at the new professor and smiled softly. "I know it's not in your job description... but I think you should go and bring him back."
The classroom was silent. A book was on the right, a notepad on the left, and a pencil in the middle of the pad. A pale girl with dark brown hair sat silently as her blue eyes looked up at the board... as if she was in some type of trance. The commotion in the hallways didn't phase her in the least. This was how she started her day every morning except the one day off every week. Her eyes looked tired, not happy to be here so early.
Suddenly she blinked and her face frowned, seeing a quick hand take her pencil. "H-Hey!" She suddenly stood, her blue eyes becoming dark as she looked back, seeing him chew her pencil. In a way... it made her laugh on the inside... She frowned though and stomped over, ripping her pencil right out of his mouth. "Idiot, you can get poisoned from chewing on those damn things." She growled and turned away, walking back to her seat. "Not like I'd care anyway..." She murmured, a playful undertone to it as she sat back down.
She had to admit, the dedication that the boy gave her... was quite flattering. Through the three years that passed, her skin seemed to get more fair. She started to wear puffy, ragged skirts that went to her knee and her chest was starting to develop. Oddly enough, more males in the school glanced at her. She was still one of the biggest outcasts... but she WAS still alive.
Secretly... she was starting to train more.
Back at the house, yellow eyes opened slowly and the young teenager yawned. Slowly he sat up and stretched, looking out the dirty window. He planned on never going back to school.... unless it was to pick a fight. Slowly he got up and instantly his body started to change. Wincing could be heard as his bones snapped but in a matter of a few minutes, there was no longer a boy... but a black panther in the room.
It wasn't a normal looking panther either. Ram horns curled around the fluffy ears and a tail like a Ankylosaurus wagged back and forth. Large paws pushed on the door, and in the shadows of the stairwell, the creature was there and gone out the back door. The large paws padded on the sand as the creature made it to the edge of town. The wing dried his nose but he was well worth it.
Yellow eyes gazed out at the dunes upon dune, seeing no life out there whatsoever. He looked back, seeing the school and growled. He saw less and less of his kid brother anymore...

Gin's face fell. "...Oh." He sighed. He supposed he should have expected that. Knowing his friend as well as he did if their HAD been news Jet would of run out to tell him right away - or at the very least send a messanger.
His expression perked up a little however when his friend suddenly mentioned going to the forest and he grinned despite himself, pushing the worrying thoughts of his father aside. He LOVESD the forest. It was full of mystery and fun. Each time they went that far out there was always something new to see - but they also got in the most trouble since of course it was so far away from the palace.
"Yeah lket's go!" He responded. He rolled up the bag of Fluffy Stuff and stuck it in his pocket before he and Jet quickly raced off, his longer legs easily covering distance quicker than his friend. He laughed as the woods came into sight, the trees so high it looked like they were trying to touch the sky.
Large leaves spread outwards, cutting out the sun and darkening their path considerably except for the little spots of light that dotted between the trees. He nodded at the other;s suggestion - but they didn't quite reach it all the way before both their ears were assulted by a beautiful hymn.
He turned looking around for the source - and his breath caught when his eyes laid upon her. However, it wasn't until she jumped down that he truly got a good look at her. Oh wow.
He blushed bashfully, trying not to stare because his mother always said it was rude to stare and he would HATE to be rude... but she had such an interesting look about her. She had to be the prettiest darn girl he ever saw.
He listened to the exchange, decided not to jump in at any point and just let them talk. "It's dangerous you know..." Well then what were they doing here? "Renki....?" This he spared a glance for his friend. For some who should have real good tutors he sure wasn't well educated. He;d have to help him on that... Then again it had been his dad to teach him what the 'Renki' were... not school.
He blinked suddenly when the attention shifted to him and his cheeks flushed once more. He shifted nervously under the girl's green eyes. "Uh, uh... G-G-Gin..." He stuttered before looking away, mentally berating himself. He sounded like a fool!
Latium looked up hesitantly, sighing in relief to see that the king was not worried - in fact he sounded a little expectant. He tilted his head but grinned at the words, slowly picking himself up of the floor. "Yes, of course of course! I'd be happy to go and find him." He scratched the back of his head, before hurrying from the room, throwing over his shoulder, "I'll be back before you can say: nonne amicus certus in re incerta cernitur!"
Hatori grinned at her words, chuckling. "Ah yes of course you wouldn't." He lifted his feet, placing them across the desk behind him. "It's nobler to let someone die if they make a stupid mistake." He quoted. His father's words in fact, a little shortly after Xigbar had gotten into a fight in the playground ontop of the monkeybars and fell off. that had been a hilarious sight. Well for him.
His big brother however had been sore for weeks.
He tiled his head, looking the girl over quietly, unable to stop himself from licking his lips. He was 12 after all. He was still pretty young and he was just starting to get used to 'going into heat' (as his mother liked to call it, even though technically to do that they'd have to be full bred animals that only did it once a season not whenever they felt like it).
He was still standing by his proclmation he made three years ago - Ida was going to be his mate. His interest in her had never strayed, not even once. He'd even started to growl at the looks other people sent her way. He was already itching to mark her - just so everyone would leave her the fuck alone.
"So..." He purred, more to get her to talk to him more than actually converse. "What are you going to do once we leave hell?" That would be school.

The girl blinked and giggled, covering her mouth. "Nice to meet you G-G-Gin." Jet blinked, looking back at his brave friend to see his face bright red. He was never like this before. He looked from Gin to Firi and back, his smile starting to grow. Gin liked her...
He figured Gin wouldn't be saying much then. He turned back to the green eyed girl and smiled. "You're voice is really nice, Firi~" "Oh! Thank you~ Maybe I'll sing in your court one day, Prince Jet." "I'd really like that." The boy smiled and nodded, looking back up the tree that she had come down from. "Is that were you practice?" "Yup! That's out practice tree~" She turned and pointed over the brush. "From up there, you can see the swamp and more of the forest... it's really beautiful." "Do you... lots of butterflies?" "Oh, tons! They're so pretty!" A soft smiled ran over his features before checking back on his friend before looking at her again.
"Wasn't there someone up there with purple wings?" "Oh yea, that's my momma. She went to another world to find more inspiraction for her masterpiece she's writing... and my papa is away at the palace. My momma is a purple-wing and her voice is sooooo beautiful! I want to be like her one day... even if I only have yellow wings..." Jet blinked but smiled. "I don't think it matters what color wings you have... if you have a passion for it, I'm sure you can be as good as the naturals." Green eyes lit up as she blushed slightly. "Thank you, Jet..."
Sorias blinked as he watched the man run off and sighed happily. "A friend in need is a friend in deed..." He whispered before sitting down again and looking through some papers.
Before any more conversation to take place, the girl blinked as they heard someone running through the Wood. Her eyes lit up as she started to bounce and her hands waved. "Papa! Papa! Over here!" Jet and Gin looked back, seeing a yellow winged Shee running around, looking for something. Jet's eyes widened as he slowly sank down. Firi's papa... was his new professor. He gave a look at Gin and swallowed. "Ut oh..."
Pale fingers with surprisingly clean fingernails started to scratch off the bits of pieces that Hatori had forgotten to chew off. Even if she was turned away and preoccupying her mind with something else, she heard everything the boy behind her had to say.
She was only a year younger than Hatori... and even at this young age, she could feel the difference of growing up. Her mother told her that once she started having her menstrual cycle, she needed to be more careful around the boys... and girls. She didn't believe it... no one was interested in her.... except for Hatori. She knew it... well, how could someone not?
She wouldn't admit that she wanted Hatori to be her mate... but he was the only boy... or person really outside her family that she talked to. She knew he was a Tellus... and that name now a days was a strong one. She knew she would have to prove she could live up to the that name. Hence her secret training.
Her nature however... had not changed in a bit. The other boys would start coming on to her because she was still ALIVE... and not by any other fact at all.
She frowned and slowly turned her head, looking back at the red eyed boy. "Do what I always do. Go home, make dinner, do my homework, study and go to bed." She put bluntly before turning away again.

He blushed more at her teasing looking at the ground. Man he was SO bad with girls. Come on come on, what did his mom always say? That girls... didn't like... to be spit on? Ah what conversation was that from?!
While he was internally panicking, he didn't notice Jet was practically wooing the girl and if he didn't say or do something quick she wasn't going to take any interest in him! It was rights to be real jealous truly - but Shee didn't really partake into jealously, or any of the sins really. Those who did were frowned upon.
He bit his lip hard, trying to come up with some sort of reasoning to this mess - and when the two seemed to be finishing up their conversation an idea sparked him to open his mouth - then Latium came.
Damn! he couldn't help but think and cringed, glad his mom wasn't here and couldn't read thoughts. He looked up before snatching Jet's wrist and hiding behind the practice tree.
Latium came running easily through the trees, his normal spring back in his step. His eyes alighteed at the sight of the three kids, and the poor attempt at hiding. He chuckled, stopping next to his daughter. "Hello Firi." He pat her on the head. "Singing again?" He gotan affirmative and chuckled. "Good for you."
He didn't mind that Firi had a passion for singing despite the yellow wings. Energy isn't a bad thing to have in a performace either! Then again he had yellow-wings. He was pretty laid back about everything - until things like this happened.
"If you don't mind I need to take back one of my charges. Now come along Jet." Latium said, looking at the tree where, at this angle he could only see the boys blue wings stretching out.
Gin blinked, then a ridiculous idea sprouted in his head. "Jet? There is no one here by that name!" He looked at the other grinning. "Flap your wings a little." He whispered.
When Jet did as he was asking, Gin continued in his own voice. "I am the SPIRIT of the singing tree!"
Latium blinked then laughed. "Spirits of trees wouldn;t have wings."
"How do you know?!" The 'tree' said back.
"Cause I've met a tree spirit."
Gin's head poked out, eyes wide with amazement. "Really where?!"
Latium smirked. "I guess no where now."
The silverwing blinked then, "Ahhh you tricked me!!"
Diliza sighed, lounging by the fountain out in town square, her fingers swirling around in the water. She sighed, wondering what trouble her son was getting into today. He always seemed to-
She blinked as her fingers brushed along something rough in the water and looked dow.... seeing a sheet of paper with writing atop it.
Her heart jumped to her throat and she snatched it out of the water. She knew what it was. It was Ambulia papryus - a specific type of paper used in underwater communities, fisrt founded by... the water nymphs. Squid ink was used for the writing.
She stared down at the paper, and her heart fell down to her toes. She looked up before jumping from the fountain and taking a mad dash back to the palace, her wings flapping every once and awhile to give her balance and a boost.
She rushed into the castle. "Sorias!" She looked around the empty corriders, before using for his study. She found him there - thank god. "Sorias!" She repeated, her voice sounding frantic as she came up to his desk. She shakily held out the paper for him to read.
Dear Shee, Thank you for sending help, but it is with a heavy heart that I must bear this grief. We were having a domestic problem among some of the sea-shore nymphs and the underwater nymphs, and the Shee sent were supposed to keep us from a civil war. I am sorry to say however, that things did not go as planned. Though the Shee were doing wonderfully - something worse appeared. A Renki showed up. I refgret to inform you that none of your men made it. Signed with grief, Queen of Juturna Maia
Hatori pouted. "Oh that's boring." He jumped from his desk and walked over placing his hand on her desk. "What about a fight for your honor? Or, Or a run through the desert? Or... causing some mischeif around town? Or..." He tilted his head, grinning. "Making the elders panic when you go by and pretend to scratch your claws on the trees. It's SO much fun running away from them."
The boy fell on his haunches when he got a look, but only grinning catily back. "You know how my dad was on that mission to the water planet?" He got a nod. "He came back last night, all happy and blood all over him. He found Shee there! A whole flock of em!"
He licked his lips at the thought. "He said he had killed the leader of the Shee's army. Can you believe that? The only thing better than doing that would be to kill the king!"

Jet blinked as he was suddenly pulled behind a tree. He shifted close to his friend and kept quiet as his new professor came over. He watched but quickly hid away as Latium looked over. A pout ran over his face as he was easily found out, frowning at his wings.
He was about to jump out and apologies up and down... but another tug at his wrist made him look and gain a wink. the boy couldn't help but cover his mouth as he giggled. Slowly the ice blue wings started to flap slightly, making some silver glitter fly off. He continued to giggle as Gin continue to pretend but his eyes widened as Gin popped out... and was tricked. "HAHA! Poor Gin!" The boy laughed and hugged his friend before leaping out.
He sighed and kicked some leaves. "I'm sorry Sir Latium for running off like that. I'll try not to do it again bu---" "Papa!" They all stopped when they looked over at Firi, who had her hands on her hips and glaring at the other yellow-winged man. A demanding face ran over her features as she leaned towards him. "YOU need to teach him about the Renki! He of ALL people should know how---"
Sorias sighed as he wrote down some things with his quill but blinked as he heard something from the hallway. He looked up but gasped as his wife suddenly burst through the door. He stood, the chair giving a horrible noise against the bricks. He looked at his wife, "My love! Are you o---" then at the paper he was handed. He frowned, gently taking it from her.
His blue eyes widened as he read, but slowly narrowed. He... was dreading this day... Few of his finest soldiers were sent out... but... Sappai... He gently placed the note on his desk and hugged his wife close. He ran his fingers through her hair before pulling away, kissing her softly. "Thank you..." He kissed her forehead before walking out of the room and down the stairs.
When he got to the base, he looked over at one of the guards and frowned. "Sir Adney, sound the horn." he guard frowned but he saluted and raced to the hallway that held a large horn that the ancients had made. The horn was only blown when an emergency town meeting. The meetings were held at the front stairs of the palace. Everyone usually dropped what they were doing and went.
In the forest, the young girl wasn't able to finish her sentence when a huge horn was sounded from the kingdom, and all the birds flew away from the trees. Everyone's eyes widened as they looked towards the palace.
Ida's eyes widened as he heard the noise behind her and suddenly a hand was on her desk. Her eyes looked up at him, not thrilled at all. She listened to him, though her expression never changed until he was done. She rolled her eyes and frowned more.
"You know how my dad was on that mission to the water planet?" She looked up at him and nodded, remembering him and his brother boasting about it. Her eyes widened in amazement at what he had to say next. "Shee..." Her eyes widened more as he stated that his father had killed the leader of the army. A spark ran though her as she suddenly grinned. "You think you have what it takes to kill the king?"

Diliza watched her husband take off, sighing shakily as she placed her hands against the desk bowing her head. All those families.... How could this of happened? Those damn Renki... She looked up when she ehard the horn and took in a deep breath, wings fluttered some as she walked from the room.
Gin pouted a bit, before coming out of the tree as well, standing next to his friend. He sighed a bit, looking a little guilty as well - but Firi quickly interuppted.
Latium blinked, turning his head to listen to his daughter - but conversation did not get far before the sound of the horn went off. He turned around, frowning. that... was a bad sign. He looked at the three. "Well, we better get going kids." He said. He hurried through the forest, leading the way back towards the palace. It was already getting incredibly crowded. The mesh of wing colors from the kids and the heads of people made it hard to discern one person from another.
Gin's stomach twisted nervously, looking around for the pink wings and hair of his mother - but didn't see her at all. He'd never attending a meeting without her at his side.
A green-winged shee looked up at the horn calling. "Mommy?" "Come along Runa." She picked up her three-year old toddler and walked from her house towards the palace steps.
Hatori smirked. "Of course I do!" He boasted nodding. "I'll be even greater than my dad! I'll take him, his wife and his sons on all at the same time! They'll all fall under my fangs!"
He of coruse still had to work on changing completely of course, but he knew he was destined for greatness. He had the name of a Tellus - and as of last night they had become the strongest name to have. His dad was going to make sure he and Xiggy kept that name up and never let it fall.

Soldiers and guards started to form around the base of the stairs , forming a line so the people knew where to stop as they crowded around the fountain and watched the king walk under the archway. Followed behind him was his wife who joined his side. His blue eyes searched the already forming crowd, looking for his son.
Firi frowned but nodded as she rushed after the other yellow-wing, her puffy red dress bouncing. Jet frowned as well and started to run after, Gin right next to him.
They rushed through the gates, seeing everyone crowded together, their children's wings making it look like a vast rainbow. The three kids followed close to Latium as they pushed their way through it. People frowned and grunted, the four apologizing as they continued to push to the very front of the crowd.
Sorias finally saw Latium, his daughter, Gin... and his son come to the front. He waved his hand slightly, Jet getting the message. He looked back at Gin and swallowed before he ducked under the guards and rushed up the stairs to stand next to his mother. He looked down at everyone, seeing how... many their were. Some Shee were even sitting on their roofs. He shied away onto his mother as his father started to talk.
"Dear Shee! People of Norn! Please quiet down!" The black haired king rose his hands, a wave of silence rippling across the kingdom.
A soft sigh came from Sorias as he looked out over his people. "I have just received a letter from Queen Maia of Juturna." Everyone fell dead silent... not even a whisper. Another sigh came from him as he shook his head. "Unfortunately... we were not prepared to run into an Atterian." The whole crowd gasped, tears starting to fill people's eyes already.
The king swallowed and shook his head. "The troops that had been sent out... there were none surrendered. No one will be coming home from Juturna...." He trailed off and frowned. "To those families who's loved ones had died, a special service will be set up to honor their lives. These include the loved ones of Ari, Baldric, Erdmut, Fadila, Kekoa, Kinge, Leotrim, Makis, Rikki, Wyatt... and of course... or dear leader.... Sappai."
Jet's eyes widened as he heard the last name. He looked at his father, tears slowly running down his face. "You heard from my father yet?" He looked down, his bright wings dimming as they fell. What was... this Atterian and how... how could one kill so many Shee...?
Firi gasped as she heard and frowned, her eyes saddened. She blinked though as she heard the boy next to her start to shake. Was one of his family members one who died...? She swallowed as she slowly reached her hand out, and held his softly. "Gin...?"
Ida watched him as he boasted proudly, her eyes growing darker. She knew he wasn't old enough to change yet... and neither was she.... but the confidence he had wasn't as fake as the others.
Tellus, was indeed the strongest name now... and the word would spread quick. She... would have to work harder.
"You know... maybe pretending to scratch claws on trees isn't so bad..." She wasn't trying to warm up to him... or using him in the least. She was lucky enough that someone had already wanted to wait for her... and even more lucky that it was a son of the Tellus family. If she continued to shy way... he might lose interest...
She grinned, the pencil stuck into her mouth. She snapped it down, breaking the end off completely as her eyes stared into red. The room was suddenly starting to fill with the others, bit their eyes never broke.

The green-winged trader carefully sat on the edges of the fountain, holding her child close. She was a lovely woman, also with blonde hair but less vibrant then her daughter's and green eyes to match her wings. Runa started to fuss in her arms, complaining about the noise.
"Sshhh shhh it's okay Ru." Her hummed softly, running her fingers through her daughter's soft golden hair. She looked up, seeing people shoving and pushing each other up in front of her and sighed her legs drawing in closer to the granite of the fountain seat.
Runa started to cry. "Oh no, shhh shh it's okay baby!"
"Need some help?" The woman with her daughter jumped in surprise, glancing over at the newcomer who had spoke to her. She was a tall lady with soft gray eyes and straight black hair - but from her clothes and her smile she knew instantlys this other woman was a pink-wing. "Ah... I wouldn't mind it." She spoke. "Names Zaria." The pink-wing spoke, sitting down and gently taking the girl. "Kalika." The other responded, watching her curiously. Zaria hummed like the other woman did, one hand holding the girl close, the other humming softly along the red-wings of the little girl in soothing, rubbing motions. "Do you have a child?" "Yes. A little boy. Gin." Zaria spoke. "He's out there someone most likely. He's ten and gets in a lot of trouble." Kalika smiled, but their wasn't time for much more talk before the call of the king drew their attention. At the beginning of the announcement, both woman gasped sharply. An Atterian...
The queen shut her eyes to hide away from the painful looks on the other Shee's faces. She reached down, placing her hand on the top of her son's head as the devestating news wafted over them. No one will be coming home from Juturna...."
Gasps and cries rang out. Gin stared up, eyes widening. no it couldn;t be. "Makis..." Kalika whispered in horror. "Sippai..." Zaria uttered.
The names rang out, hitting the families the hardest. It didn't seem more real until the names were uttered - and then it was just a crippling blow. Teenagers and wifes, and girlfriends and sons and daughters and elders all found the news startling and heartbreaking. Nothing quite like this had ever happened...
Gin felt his body shaking as he heard his father's name get called. Tears welled in his eyes, feeling a soft hand curl in his. He glanced at Firi before looking at the ground, tears escaping down his cheeks. 'Don't worry it's a small mission I'll be back soon!' 'And then you'll teach me the lion stance right?' "You got it Gin!' "Dad..." He whimpered.
Latium frowned, hearing the news and bowed his head, shaking it. One Atterian... killed eleven soliders? It was unimaginable! And terrifying.
Kalika felt tears rolling down her cheeks. 'Sippai says its a real simple mission - so I should be back in a week! Now don't you and Runa have too much fun without me!' 'Take care love.' "I'm sorry," the woman whispered numbly beside her. "I have to find my son." Runa was handed back, before Zaria jumped to her feet and rushed into the crowd. No matter how hard she tried not to, her pink wings came bursting out from her sorrow. Kalika watched the woman, shaking her head before curling up, holding her daughter close and sobbed.
Daliza shook her head, before glancing at her son, seeing how torn up he looked. She knelt down, bringing the boy in a close embrace.
Hatori grinned as he heard the snap, his smile only widening. "I thought they were poisonious." He teased good-naturedly. If he had a tail it would be wagging right about now.
He'd never felt more happy. It was... a pecular feeling. He hadn;t felt this excited since... well since he found that wooden noise-maker. He found out not a year ago it's wasn't a stick nor a noise-maker either. It was also a music-maker. He had been fiddling around with the holes placed throughout the stick and he found when he closed his hand over certain ones in certain ways the shrill cries the music-maker played at different pitches.
He still had it of course. It was now hiding under the pillow of his bed. And he hoped... one day Ida would be his forever. Best part is... he wouldn't have to hide her. And once she was marked he wouldn;t have to fight for her either.
A clearing of someone's throat drew his attention away and he glanced back, seeing the teacher standing at her desk looking strictly at him and all the other kids already in their seats. Huh had they been staring that long?
He stood, holding his head high as he walked to his seat and sat down. "You may go ahead." He told the teacher - as if he was the one calling all the shots here.

Sorias looked over the crowd, seeing all the shocked and mourning faces. He bowed his head. He... never wanted to deliver this kind of blow to his people...
Firi watched the tears of the boy hit the white bricks and frowned. Suddenly she blinked, seeing a woman coming towards them. Her yellow wings fluttered as a pink-wing came and stood behind Gin. Her hand quickly let go as she stood closer to her father. She watched as the woman pulled the boy close and started to whisper to him. Yes... one of those Shee was Gin's father. She took her father's hand and buried her face in his waist. "Papa..."
Jet shook as he felt his mother's embrace and turned, wrapping his arms around her neck. What he didn't see, was that every Shee who was close to those crying hand placed a hand on them, speaking kind words... and asking if they needed anything whatsoever.
Sorias sighed but looked back at Diliza and Jet. Times of grief were hard... but like his father once taught him... it's not so bad. Because... that was when people came together the best. Not so bad.... yea..... right.....
Her blue eyes flickered as she smiled. "What would you care...?" She suddenly snapped out of it when she heard the teacher clear her throat. She sat up straight and pulled the parts of the pencil out of her mouth. She cleared her desk and swallowed, feeling all eyes on her.
Her eyes grew dark though as she heard the voice behind her... and a small smile inched onto her face.

For once in her life Zaria was able to find her son in a matter of minutes. But maybe it was just mother's intuition because she knew her boy was crying and needed her. Gin was such a strong kid... he never cried about scraping his knees or stubbing his toes or losing a pet.
But none of that really compared to this.
She fell to her knees by her boy, bringing him close. "Mom..." He heard him choke before fingers curled in her dress.
"It's okay... it's okay..." Zaria soothed, brushing her hands through her boys hair, blinking away the tears threatening to fall.
Latium frowned, placing his hands over his daughter's shoulders. He looked over towards the crying family. "Ma'am... if there;s anything I can do to help..."
Zaria just shook her head. "We'll be alright..."
Diliza looked up at her husband, frowning back at him before looking down towards her son, kissing the top of his head. "It'll be okay Jet..."
The teacher growled at Hatori's words. "You little brat." But rather then smacking him around she turned and went on his the lesson.
Hatori tensed a bit, knowing she;d make some sort of sneak attack at him sometime during class. Thats the type of animal she was. A snake.
He smiled easily, knowing he could take anything she threw at him before he wrote something down on a piece of paper. He gfoled it up into a little airplane, before glancing over to where Ida was. The minute their teacher's back was turned he let it fly with expertise.
The paper plane crash-landed against her book, fluttering against its side. Ida sent him a look before opening it.
I care because you're mine.
A soft, nervous sigh admitted from a woman as she pulled her hair from her dress, golden ringlets spiraling down her back. She stared at her reflection in the mirrior, her eyes the lightest blue one had ever seen.
She liked to joke with herself about how she was made of the three primary colors. Red wings, yellow hair, blue eyes. Her wings however were quite hidden.
"You're wearing that?"
Runa glanced back seeing her mother coming into the room, before sighing both in nervousness and agitation. "Yes mom."
Kalika gave her daughter a once-over before nodding. It was a ltitle too revealing for her taste but it was her daughter's big moment and she didn't want to ruin it by making her upset. If only Makis could see her now...
There were some things in this world thatw as allowed. a Yellow wing singing in a purple-wings spot. It brought energy of a different kind to the music. Or an orange wing taking a brown wings spot. Orange wings brought change to the building and creativity from other worlds that they had visited into the structures. It wasnlt even that strange to think of a dark blue wing doing a pink wings job - stability in love and relationships was just as important as the feelings themseleves.
But no one expected what her daughter did. A red wing taking an orange wings job. A speaker for other worlds instead of a fighter to protect them. Kalika herself had had her doubts - because her daughter had the habit of speaking her mind and sometimes that wasn;t quite the besat of things, yet already she was taking the worlds by storm, speaking passionately and creativiely, using the inner energy of her wings to bring life into her speeches.
And already, at only fourteen she would be honored by the king! She... was so very proud.
"It's lovely."
Runa smiled before turning back to the mirrior staring at her reflection. It had no sleeves nor straps and was a beautiful royal blue that flowed out around her feet, nearly hiding the black high heels. There were designs of flowers and plants around her chest and at the hems. A piece of the cloth folded over the bottom half of her dress so that it looks like the plants were climbing up her dress.
Runa reached out, quickly placing on some red lipstick with practiced ease, and some blush and eye-liner followed. She heard her mom take leave, only to come back moments later, something shimmering in her hands.
Kalika came behind her daughter her hands tretching around a simple necklace made of diamond glittering back at her. It was in the shape of a flower. "Now don't lose it."
The red-winged Shee gasped in surprise. She recognized the necklace - her dad had given it to their mom long ago back when they were still dating. "Thank you." She lfited her hair, hearing the necklace get clasped behind her. She turned around, giving her mom a hug.
Hatori hummed, sitting atop a roof, his legs dangling over the side. He was waiting for Ida. He had called her out here awhile ago - but he didn't know what was taking her so long.
He had considered once or twice going out to look for her but she culd take care of herself. If she couldn't then she wasn't worth his time.
The man looked up grinning. He had changed just shortly after his 12th birthday. A leopard with a slinky tail, sabered teeth and back-claws for his feet which made it hilariously easy to climb things.
He was a lot older now. School had been over the day he changed - well actually the day Ida changed. He stayed in school until she did and then he dropped out, feeling much more confident to let her continue to walk the halls if she so therefore wished to.

Firi swallowed again as she watched Gin hold onto is mother. She... would never forget this day...
Jet sighed, sniffling softly. He knew... it wouldn't be ok. He knew tonight was going to be full of arguments about what happened... and he wouldn't be able to sleep...
Note were written down but the broken pencil stopped as a foreign object smashed into her book. She looked back at Hatori before taking the note and opening it. Her eyes widened as she read the single note. Slowly she folded it back and stuck it in her book. She slowly closed her book and smiled, her attention to the teacher slowly fading.
Blue eyes opened as brown hair shifted. A bow was slowly tied around his neck as he pulled on his dress cloak. He slowly pulled his long hair from underneath and let it flutter down his back. There were short spikes in the back that flared out into longer spikes and ran down his back.
Dress sandals shifted on the bricks as he moved. Loose clothing flowed as he walked out of the room and looked down the hall. "Hey, want to come see me train today?" "Sorry, Gin... my father wants me to attend an honoring... he said I need to go to all the meetings from here on."
Slowly he walked down the halls, seeing the old and new maids bowing as they passed. He slowly walked down the stairs and out to the throne room. He saw the guards all lined down the carpet that lead down to the main doors. At the top was the throne where two thrones sat... but only one of them were taken. His mother's seat empty.
He smiled as he walked over to his father and his aids. Blue eyes looked up and them black haired man stood, looking down at his son. "You look nice today Jet." "Thank you." He bowed his head and smiled. "So... what's today's honoring for?" The king looked at the closed doors and smiled. "A young girl named Runa. She has actually tied our race with three others... and she just started as a Speaker of Norn."
Jet smiled and nodded, blinking as he heard the large doors budge. His father and aids stepped down to the first flight of stairs, the guards saluting as some people walked down the carpet towards the throne. Jet stood next to his father and held his hands behind his back. A guard walked up to the king and fell to one knee, bowing. "You majesty, the Speaker of Norn is here." The man smiled and nodded. "Let her in."
Yellow wings fluttered on the old stairs. Green eyes watched as men and women alike were running around the large training area. A new leader of the army had been accounted many years ago but a new leader in training was getting his fame. "ALRIGHT MEN! TAKE YOU 10!" A red-wing called as the other Shee stopped running and started to find some liquids or relaxed on bench.
Short golden hair shifted as her green eyes saw silver wings. She stood and started to jump. Her hand waved as her yellow wings fluttered. "HEY! HEY G-G-GIN!" When she caught his attention, she stopped jumping and giggled. Seeing that her father was a noble professor of the prince, she was allowed into the castle too. But her favorite place was the training grounds... if she wasn't in the Wood.
Scared dark hands pulled jet black hair up into a tight pony tale. Scars ran down a rough face as sand was kicked up. His shadow lurked from house to house until it finally stopped. Yellow eyes gazed up at a familiar figure. "What a dud! She still hasn't come out yet has she? Maybe someone got her already." He taunted.
Xigbar had multiple scars all over his body and not just small ones. He, unlike his brother, had become a lone wolf in a sense. The bond between him and his brother seemed to strength as well. All because of that outcast. His brother was obsessed with her the moment he laid eyes on her.
As for him, he had yet to find a girl that suited him. Even ones that did slightly already had their mark.
As for the outcast herself, she was smart enough to get near him, not once. He threatened that if she came near him ever again, he'd kill her. Xigbar didn't hold grudges. Nope.
He snickered as he got something heavy thrown down at him and easily dodged it. He scuffed some more dirt up as he started walking away from the house. He had other things to tend to... like his date behind the library with a small gang.
In the school, the hallways were quiet. The classes had been let out a hour already... and the halls were littered with junk and sand and mud. In the rusted girls bathroom, a woman knelt over herself as she frowned. Blood was dripping from her skirt. She wasn't wounded or hurt for the blood was coming from between her legs.
In the mid afternoon, she was chased into the bathroom by some boys, them smelling the blood that she dropped. She was cornered in the bathroom for the whole day until he boys grew tired and finally left to go beat someone up. Every month she had to go through this... but it was getting worse and worse as she grew.
Slowly she stood and rubbed her arms. Her hair was still long, down to the middle of her back. She wore black or deep red clothes. A skirt that went to the middle of her shins and a tank top with a shawl... no matter how hot it was. Her skin was as white a bleached bones in the desert and her eyes now a deep blue. She wore no make up and grew a cold, yet fierce face. Her facial emotions never changing. She was as cold as ice.
Slowly she pulled up her books and slowly walked out of the bathroom. This was her last year in school... and she didn't know what she would do after it... She walked down the halls and opened the door, seeing the area abandoned for the most part. Her bare feet walked down the steps and she slowly started to walk towards the house Hatori had called her to.
Blood ran down her leg as she walked, the sand easily catching it. She knew if any of the boys had changed... she'd be in big trouble. Her walk turned into a shuffle, into a trot and then into a run. Her hair whipped behind her as she ran across the main area and into an alley. She went back to a walk as she came through the other side, slowly looking up to see the red eyes looking down at her.

"Now honey don't let them say anything mean to you - especally about your wings." "Yes mother." Why would they be mean if they were honoring her? "And remember always to be polite and use the best of manners." "Yes mom." When WASN'T she polite? "And don't go pickingup any boys either." "MOM!" "Yes?" "I'm going to be late." "Oh... hurry hurry!"
Runa couldn't help but smile. Her mom was so... strange sometimes. She knew it had been hard for her though. to do her job as an importer AND raise her at the same time. She'd often have to hire a yellow or pink wing to watch after her on her trips.
But now she was old enough to take care of herself - and be honored by the king apparently.
She paused in front of the palace doors where two guards stood. "Um... I'm here to see the king." "Name?" "Runa." The guard nodded before the two led her inside and down to the throne room. He sent a look to the other guard and she watched the smaller rush inside. She raised an eyebrow about the exchange.
Moments later the guard came back and ushered her inside.
She'd never seen the inside of a castle before - only pictures inside storybooks. But actually being in one... and the throne room no less! She felt small. Very, very small. Her wings practically wanted to burst out of her back from her nervousness. She rolled her shoulders to dislodge the feeling. She stopped when the guards did in front of the thrones. "May I introduce the Speaker of Norn, Runa." Said the other guard. Runa, who was bold but overwelmed, could only look up for about ten seconds before her eyes dropped to the carpet. She gave the two men a curtsy, her dress fluttering with her movements. "Thank you for inviting me." She looked up one more through her golden bangs though, seeing the king with the massive orange wings that she'd seen time and time again at town meetings - and then the boy beside him a little older then her. The prince Jet. He was a stunning man with beautiful blue wings.
She'd... never seen either of them this close before. And where was the queen, Diliza? Maybe she didn;t want to meet the black-wing though.
Gin sighed, dragging his legs over to where he threw his water bottle, snatching it up. He weas just uncapping it when he heard the call and his eyes moved towards where he saw a yellow-wing jumping about. He grinned, though he already felt his cheeks warming. He rushed over - as if just the sight of her gave him the energy to run another ten miles. "HEY FI-RIIIIIIIIII!" Now he normally never yelled back like that - but it seemed whenever he was around her he acted like a fool. Because he had just accidently slipped over NOTHING and fell face first onto the track. He heard all his mates around him bursting into laughter at his display, quite used to his antics. they all knew Gin was about as graceful as fish on land whenever Firi was around. Gin grumbled lifted himself off the ground, spiting out the mouthful of dirt he got lucky enough NOT to swallow.
Hatori looked down when he heard the words and growled at the sight of his brother. "Shut up!!" He snapped, snatching up a rock and throwing it down with vicious force. Damn it there goes his sneak attack in case anyone was following his Ida!
He watched his brother take off, rolling his eyes. He knew Xig was just looking out for him though. And he liked his brother cause he was unqie. A loner, and one who picked fights that most people believed it was impossible to win, and proud of each and ever scar that he got. Being proud over scars was like being proud over losses. Then again scars meant you survived... Urgh, sometimes things were so confusing. You didn;t know what was good and what was bad.
He shook his head, sighing and laying out on the roof. "Argh! Where is she?!" He shut his eyes, hoping his brother was having fun in whatever gang fight he had gotten into today.
He waited there awhile longer, the breeze pulling at his hair and clothes and tickling his senses. The smell of iron on the wind however made him sit up, his whole body tense. He growled, sniffing it and recognizing it as Ida's. He looked down, seeing the girl going into view - but she wasn;t luimping or carrying herself careful in any way she couldn;t be hurt so... Ah... woman things. He was so glad he was a man. Their eyes locked and he felt more conforted. She didn't seem to be panicked in any way. She was fine.
He jumped down from the roof suddenly, landing in front of her. He licked his lips, seeing the redness dripping between her legs and stepped forward. "You smell like blood."
