"He was Lumi's cousin. he gave into the heartless a few years back. I knew him before he turned. he was a nice man. i'm not sure why he turned though." she sighed. "i'm sorry. i just wanted to see my new skill in action. i won't do it again." she smiled and started walking off. she returned the blade back to its place and she looked down the trail. Traverse wasn't that far. "let's go dac, maybe we can find what you're looking for."

ooc: cept were not going to Travers yet. we have to use the instant transport for that. were going to Junon.
"we're going there because there have been reports of heartless activity on a large scale. we'll meet up with several other rangers there." he decided to stop for the night. "this is far enough. it's getting really late." they went off to the side and set up camp. after the fire was going, he asked her. "so, we haven't had much time for talk at all. how was your life growing up? besides training to become a SeeD?"

ooc: ok mr. map person man.  Mirray smiled and poked the fire with a stick. "My life was like many others. I visited my parents on the holidays, played with my roommate as a young girl. we were bathed and dressed by the nurses at a young age. i lived in Balamb most of my life. TriBalamb was new as i grew older and understood what i was. Then we staretd going to school with other kids. I met irvine.." she stopped and looked down. the wind blew and the fire danced a little. she sighed" that's not important though. anyway, we grew up, training and learning about geography and herbs and whatnot. Never learned about a living weapon tho. we learned about heartless and our city's background with Duo and Lumi. It's an honor that they picked TriBalamb as their home. It's very peaceful with them there, them and the force field. I wonder what's going on now. what am i missing? a ranger is a honorable place don't get me wrong. it's just that a Balamb SeeD was more of my style. i have trained all my life to be one." |

"i know how you feel. when i was choosen, i too was torn away from my previous life. but when you are choosen to become the master of a living weapon, you have no choice. you must become a ranger. that's just the way it is. the way it has been for hundreds of years." he could hardly remember his own past. just bits and pieces. he didn't even remember his parents faces. he let a sigh escape him. "i've been a ranger so long. seen people's whole lives pass before me. many heartless have met their end at the Lunato. sometimes i wish i could have lived a normal life." he just stared at the ground for a long time. "well, we'd better get some rest before dawn!"

she nodded and threw sand in the fire, letting it semmer to nothing. she crawled into her tent and pulled up a blanket. she knew she wouldn't sleep. so much would happen in the morning and for the rest of her life. she sighed and remembered. she will never die. FOWh chose her and gave her the strengh to live. she sighed again and turned to her side. that shadow lingered in her mind. she had to fine what it was all about. maybe she'll ask dac tomorrow. she closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Dac lay on the ground on his back looking at the stars and fell into a shallow sleep. he awoke the next morning just after dawn. he woke up Mirray and started to pack up camp. "c'mon! we gotta get going. we need to meet the others in Junon by tomorrow morning."

Mirray yawned as she fot her things together. "Junon? I never heard of the place. we learned about the whole planet and i don't remember any place called Junon." she took the blade and placed it into her sheath. The blade seemed peaceful today, no shadow lingered on it. It was clear and reflected the morning sky. She walked over to dac and helped him gather some food scraps.

"yeah, i know. it's on a different world. we have to use our weapons to get there." he finished packing the camp stuff and started on the tent. "there are some worlds you have to be in certain spots to be able to get there. this is one of them. that's why we've been walking. we need to get to the meadow up ahead. its only a couple more miles."

"another world huh?" she blinked and started to take down her tent. "I thought only heartless could transfer to different worlds." she looked at him, really looked at him. he seemed like a very lonely man. she felt sad for him. must be hard to live forever without someone to call you own. "when did you decide to get a partner?"

"yeah, remember? i told you that we can use our weapons to transfer between worlds." he stuffed the last of the tent into his bag. "well, it wasn't my descision, really. the council told me that i had to find a partner because of the situation. i questioned why we had to partner up instead of going it alone like always and they told me that the partner would help us attend the meetings between knights. i guess they're right about that. i haven't besided a meeting in a while so i didn't know, but i went along with it. now c'mon! once we get to Junon, we can relax a bit, but for now we have to hurry."

Mirray nodded and put her back pack on. she walked down the trail with Dac and they got to a meadow. "So how does this work? our blades just transfer us? is it that easy?" she looked at him as if he were a fool. she really didn't want to stand there while a buch of men stod around talking. she sighed and waited for dac to answer.

"kind of. you hold your weapon in the air, and think about the place you want to go. then you tell your weapon to take you there. you have to give an accurate description though. i'll take you on your first time. then you can go on your own. hold on to me." he held the Lunato in the air, and told it to take them to Junon. they were suddenly enveloped in total darkness. where they stayed for a few seconds. then they were in Junon.

Mirray opened her eyes and looked around. It was like a huge temple of some sort. she took her arms off of dac's waist and looked around. the ceiling was high and the place was completely white. she blinked and walked to a large statue. some guy was holding a sword that pointed to the ceiling. "who's this guy?"

Dac looked up at the statue. "oh, that's Sephiroth. he was once a big hero here. but he joined up with the heartless recently. the people here still think of him as a hero though." he looked at the statue more closely. "huh......he looks alot like Duo when he was younger. even uses the same weapon." he paused again to think. "course, that was before Duo found the FOWH. he used a long sword way back when."
