Mos growled. This was getting really old, really fast. "This isn't my home!" He whipped his head around and looked at her angrily. A home was where there was sentimental value with people you love like friends and family. These woods were just... trees and a river.
He grabbed her wrist and pulled her close, a bit violently. "Look, how would you like it if I forced you to come into the human world? Hmm? Say you were a human living with these Jakku's all your life, learning their ways or whatever and one day someone you didn't even know comes and forces you away from everything." He frowned. "I bet you wouldn't like it. Well, neither do I."

Amber's ears flattened, but she looked angry now. "At least i don't deny what i really am!" she tore away from him suddenly, growling fiercely. "You'll never fit in in that world, not like you would with us!" she spun on her heels, tail fanning out behind her.
"But continue with that life if you wish. i don;t need you to raise our cubs." She fox shot back before stalking off into the woods, offering no help any longer. her mate, in a sense, has just abandonned her. So soon...

Mos watched her run off and frowned. He wasn't denying anything. He just refused to be ripped away from the world he knew. If he stayed here.... he would surly not survive. But.... probably vise versa.
He sighed as his ears flattened on his head. He scent only trailed away. Cubs? He sighed as he looked down at the water flowing around his feet. "Foxes have kits...." He said softly. He shook his head as he slowly left the forest, holding onto trees for support.
Once he broke from the woods, he quickly fumbled to the back of the shop and knocked on the door. His boss opened the door but blinked as he shut it again before opening it a crack.
"Mos... why don't you have any clothes on??? AND what the HELL happened to your eye!?"
Mos didn't see how his eye looked... but he could tell it was bad if his boss asked like that. His ears pressed against his head so low that it was camouflaged into his red hair. His boss threw a blanket on him and frowned. "Get some clothes on and get yourself to a doctor." He closed the door, leaving Mos to pull the blanket around him.
He sighed as he tripped all the way to his half burnt house. He managed to get on a shirt, loose jeans and a hat before calling a cab. It would be an expensive bill.... since he had to go all the way to Rocket Town. That was where he was raised... that was the only safe place he could visit the doctor...
He waited outside with an icepack on his eye and got into the cab as it came. He lounged in the back, waiting for the very long ride. He sighed as he looked out the window slightly. God, he was pissed off at her... but why could he not get her out of his head?

Amber sighed, trekking back to her colony. Once she had returned, many gave her suspicious glances and glares. she had the scent of a foriegner all over herself.
This was going to be bad.
There leader was a bobcat, with sharp golden eyes and devilish ears. And he did not look happy. The cat Jakku sauntered straight to her, his whole body lanague demanding respect.
Amber cowered, lowering to the floor as her leadered came upon her.
"What have you been up to?"
"mating." She said back simply. Start out with something HE had wanted...
"With what? a Fire triber?" The bobcat scoffed and others laughed.
She blushed in shame looked away. She knew she smelt like a strange combination of male fox, human, and smoke. lots of smoke. "A rogue fox came into the battle and won." was all she said.
"And where has he gone?"
"to the humans."
The leader growled a bit. "Disgraceful."
Amber didn;t comment. What could she say? she was mad too. how could he... how could he abandon her? She was his mate now! whether he remembered it or not!
The driver, a young man maybe in his mid-twneties, glanced back in his rearview mirror at his passanger. Around the back of the seat was a little identification card, with his picture. He was smiling with bright teeth and stunning blue eyes with a shock of black hair. The card proudly stated: 'Hello, my name is Reshi and I am your driver today.'
"... what happened?" Reshi couldn;t help but ask.

The green eyes looked up to the see the driver in the mirror. He looked away and pressed the ice pack closer to his eye. "I a wolf bit me in the eye..." He said softly.
"What did you wind up with? A Nadir?" A sly, female bobcat Jakku sneered at the fox. She had taken forever to find a mate so she grabs a foreign one that already abandoned her. Her cubs stayed close to her feet as she talked. He had been a mother of two litters already and kept a close eye on Amber. She was smart with her speed... but obviously lacked elsewhere. What a pity.
A Nadir was a member of a clan of bear Jakkus who had separated themselves from Jakkus entirely. They wanted a life like human nomads. Barbarians. Warriors. They had out casted themselves from the Jakkus so much that it was an insult to be referred as one.

"A wolf?!" The driver exclaimed. "holy shit!" He;d seen a wolf before, once about a year ago one passed right in front of his path. he had nearly hit it. it had looked like a Timber- and probably mutatated too. That had become an increseing problem ShinRa had arisen with their reactors. the land was horribly polluted, changing the animals...
and a few humans too.
Amber's ears flattened and she growled angrily at other female. "No!" How dare she call her mate such a disgusting term! "He is... he is just confused. he thinks he is a human." Well okay that wasn;t the brightest thing to stay. She had never liked this bobcat. They had been rivals for years, despite the species difference. getting along with her was almost near-impossible. when they were younger they would always cause quite a rukus with their fighting.
Their leader growled and Amber cowered again. However he was a fair person. He knew foxes and their way of mating was by battle. If a lone fox had won, who was he to say that she shouldn;t mate with him? The strongest made the best kin. "You will have kits, i presume."
"Yes" Amber said assuredly, though even that she did not know. Some Jakkus never had pups, or kits or cubs - some were just unable. she did not understand that but... it was possible.

Mos nodded as he looked out the window. Seeing on how much she was like an animal... he wondered what her pack was putting her through.
The bobcat snickered at the fox but licked some of her cubs as they came close. A human huh?? Ha, Amber really found herself a winner. If she had kits... it was almost 100% that she would be an abandoned mother.

He glanced back again, but Reshi knew when to be silent and when to be talkative. it seemed the other was deep in thought, or in deep pain, He kept silent, but picked up the speed some. this guy needed a doctor, and badly.
the leader turned away, looking at the rest of his pack. he made a noise of affirment and everyone knew it was alright to do what they wished as long as they didn;t leave the territory.
Most cuddled down for sleep. a long day of hunting and a nice feast full of good catches made one lazy.
Amber searched the ground, but not a scrap of last night;s food was to be seen. her ears drooped and she scuttled to a warm patch of ground with soft grass. she curled upon it, feeling hingry and tired. Last night had been too long for her. she hardly ever expanded so much energy like that...

It was a very long day in the car... and they couldn't stop either. The pain had numbed again and started to affect his mind. He fell in and out of consciousness but they finally arrived to Rocket Town. The cab pulled up to the small hospital and the man with long, red hair got out. He looked at the cab driver and handed him some gil. "Wait for me huh??"
He slowly walked into the doctors and asked for Dr. Mitsu. Luckily, he was still there. An old man with white hair walked out and looked at the man. "Oh... Madrid.... I haven't seen you since you were a little thing. Please, please come in." He opened the door and let the man come in. "Just get undressed and wear this." He handed the man a blue robe and Mos frowned. He hated wearing these things.
He changed into it and sat down on the table. His tail wagged as he looked around the room. It seemed different from last time. The old man came in and looked at him. "Well, I'm glad you're still around Madrid... I was getting worried about people finding out about you."
Dr. Mitsu had known Mos since the woman who had saved him brought him in. She was going to bring him to a vet until Mos changed into his human form.... The doctor never judged the boy...
"Now, let's see this eye of yours." He pulled the ice patch away that seemed to be stuck fast to his face from the pus. "Hmmm.... this doesn't look good Madrid....." The man frowned. "What do you mean...?" "Well, I think that this wolf that bit you took a good chunk of your eye... I don't think it's possible that you'll ever be able to see out of it again.... let alone open it. Mos winced at this fact. "Just let me take a few test and see what other trouble you might be into."
A few hours later, the doctor had fully finished checking over Mos. He came back with a chart and sat down. "Well... it's confirmed.... your right eye will be damaged for the rest of your life... so you should probably get a patch for that or something. Also, I hope you never plan on having children."
Mos blinked, looking at the doctor. "Huh?? Why not?" He honestly didn't want to ... but that vixen kind of changed his outcome with that. "Well, it seems that your bad habit of smoking has left you impotent." "Meaning.....?" "You don't have any sperm left. You killed them all."

As the monthes passed, so did the seasons. The spring flowers lost their grandeur,or were eaten by hebavores. The temperture rose to extreme heights, causing many animals dehydration problems. The heat strokes caused distance and fights to break out.
But soon the temperature cooled, rains became to fall, making many find shelter. The leaves began to change and the temperatures continued to drop food was becoming scare.
Soon it would be winter.
For Amber, she only hoped she didn;t survive it. She had produced no kits, to her shock and pain. She became the laughstock of her clan, talking about behind her back.
'She probably mated with the wrong species! she did it with a coyote!' barking laughter.
'what a shame. well she isn;t a great fox anyways.' a uncaring flick of a tail.
'hmph, something like her doesn;t deserve kits.' a glare of hate.
Even if she were to produce kits later in life, it would not rasie her credibility, it would not higher her standard. no - it didn;t matter how sly or how good of a hunter she was. a female who could not give kits probably shouldn;t be a female at all.
She had spent many a long nights, howling to Arn in despair, wondering why her god had forsaken her so. She had done what she was meant to. protect her species and mate for reproduction. Why did Arn not grace her for her efforts?
What was worse, was the wolf-pup Arrow had not uite given up on his chase for her. In the long nights he decided to chase her for fun, he had learned almost every single trick she knew and how to get around it. He was gaining experience, catching other animals on the side and learning from mistakes. He was bigger, stronger and faster a formindable foe.
He was soon to be a third-year pup. And he was getting so knowledgable it wouldn;t be long before he finally caught her. especally once winter and the drought and loss of nurishment got to her.
~~~
Amber lapped at the river, her eyes desolute as the moon shined off her red fur. She had not seen Mos ever since that day. She had no idea if he was alive and well or a dead carcass. She did not dare go to the human's village anymore.
"Dude.... stop touching me there."
It was pitch black and being cramped up for a hour was no fun.
Mission #33389. Reward: 9,000 gil. Objection: Raid manor factory and return top secret files.
No problem. This was the most expense reward he had ever signed up for.... and probably one of the most dangerous of yet. Long hair dropped down on the metal floor as the train stopped inside the factory.
"Shit..." A whisper and some rustling. "Where did my cigarette go?" A hand moved, looking for something on the floor. "Get your damn foot out of the way Reshi" He pushed it off but still nothing.
He stopped as he heard some walking and suddenly light. He covered his eye and blinked a few times before focusing on a man outside.
"Hey... who the fu--"
"HEY MISTER FUCK FACE!" The redhead smiled as he held a gun to the man's face and pulled the trigger. The silencer went off and the man fell to the floor. Blood dripped onto the track as the living walked out of the cab. "Oh! There it is..." He smiled as he saw the cigarette get kicked out. He rushed after it and picked it up, returning it to his mouth.
Mos Madrid never did return to Gongaga. Instead, he traveled everywhere as an investigator/spy and a 'negotiator'. However, even if the seasons had changed and months had passed, he never was able to get that vixen out of his head.
Amber's bobcat foe was already pregnant with her third litter when others started to back talk her. Oddly enough, she felt a lot of pity for the young thing.
Slowly, she walked up to the fox who was drinking. She sat down next to her and looked up at the moon. "Arn didn't bless you very well, did she?" The cat tilted her head then looked at the fox. "Listen dear.... I know we've never been good friends... but I'm worried about you. You haven't seemed to be looking for another mate. Did that young fox get to you?"
Reshi rolled his eyes but laughed. "You really shouldn;t smoke those things. it;s gonna fuck up another part of your health if your not careful." It had been a surprise for him when he and the other man, Mos, had become friends.
Not that Reshi minded. He had been a cab driver for those without transportation, and it was a boring, tiring job sometimes. His childhood held no merits, his adulthood had been dull... and then Mos stepped into his life, bleeding from the eye and somehow they became... partners?
Now he got a better pay then ever, had a friend and an exciting lifestyle. Life couldn;t be grander.
Amber;s ears flickered back, looking at the bobcat suspiciously, but she smelt no danger from her. she looked away. "I was picky with mates the first three years of my life and now i have discovered I can not bear kits. What is the point of one now? N, better yet, who would want a mate as such as me?" she stood, stretching a bit. Her tail wrapped around her protectively. "The mate... that fox... he had been... different, exotic... i had hoped he would be my mate and he abandonned me for the humans," her eartips lowered sadly.
She had no idea why she was telling the bobcat these things. But it comforted her in a strange way. She was almost worried though that the cat would go and tell the other clan of her shameful words, so she could be riduculed more.
What did it matter anymore?
Maybe tonight would be the night the wolf would catch her.
Mos frowned as he looked back at the blonde. "What are ya bitchin about now??" He asked as he pushed a pinky into his ear. He yawned and stretched. That was one bumpy ride.
He reached into his long trench coat that he now wore loosely, having it hide his fox tail. His ears however moved at every sound he heard as he pulled out a map. He no longer hid his ears... he hated being half deaf all the time. Reshi gave him a good excuse for having ears so people didn't jump him.
Pollution.
Yep, he was born too close to a polluted area, it messed up his genes SO bad that he grew fox ears. A lot of people didn't buy it but he had Reshi to back him up... even if he wondered if his partner believed it either.
The green eyes looked over the map as the smoke wrapped around his hair. "Hmm...." It looked like they had to climb 3 flights of stairs and... He blinked as another train pulled up. ShinRa? What the fuck were they doing here??
The bobcat frowned and glared at the fox, but didn't say a word. He sighed as he looked up at Arn again. "It's true, Amber. There are no Jakku who would want to mate with you now. You picked quite a disgraceful mate. You took a big risk."
She looked back at the fox who seemed quite saddened. "You know.... You don't seem like you'd have much of a life if you stay here... maybe even end up dead. So..." She grinned. "Why don't you go to him in the human world?"
Reshi just scoffed at Mos' appalaing language, following him sutifully. He watched the ears move, a bit fascinated. A fox-like person... it was unreal, but kind of cool.
ShinRa musta fucked stuff up baaad if those reactors were mutating humans now. He didn't trust those higher-up tyrants - didn;t like them much either. They all had bad attitudes with there smarty little comments and their annoying little 'decrees'.
Oh, speak of the devil! Reshi took noticed of the ShinRa portrols as well. his eyes narrowed angrily and he stepped beside Mos, glancing around carefully.
"Go to the human world!" the fox screeched. "Are you mad! that;s ridiculous, that;s utterly preposterous that..." she trailed off, thinking slowly. "that.... might work..." but she knew nothing of that world and they way of it;s workings... how would she ever survive?
Mos eyed the train from afar. They had no business here... It was a run down old factory where creeps spent their day trafficking who knew what. Well... seeing that ShinRa were creeps themselves, it was a tad understandable why they might be there.
He looked to his side to see his partner and handed him the map. "So Momma Lance said that she needed the top secret folder back huh?"
Momma Lance was their new boss. She had some pretty odd task for them to do... but they were paid to do them. He wondered if she just wanted to see how close to danger these two would would go for gil.
The bobcat nodded. "If that traitor had made it that far being in the human world without being killed... he must be doing something right. You foxes are clever like that..." She grinned as she looked at the fox think.
