The War that Binds Us (Yaoi! Yay!)

[Reno]

It would start soon, maybe in the next week or month.

So it was practice. Practice, practice practice.

Dear Sora, Kairi and Riku,

I'm sorry to inform you so early that a new problem has arised. I do believe you three deserve a rest, but it can not wait. I need you to meet me at Disney Castle right away.

That had been six monthes ago.

"It's a war," Minnie announced sadly.

"A war?!" Sora cried, feeling panicked. "But who?!"

"Malficent." Donald grumbled hotly. "We should have known that no good witch was up to no good!"

"It seems she is using her dark magic to create keybladers." Mickey said, sounding strangely serious. "It;s only getting worse from her.

And here he was, almost 16 and sparring with Kairi! KAIRI! Out of all the people he wanted out of this war, she was the first. Riku was the second. Hadn't his two best friends gone through enough? He didn;t want Donald or Goofy mixed up in it either - but they'd follow their king no matter what.

He caught his friend;s flowery keyblade easily and pushed her back. She wasn;t going to be strong enough. She was going to die.

[Rikugurl]

"Ooof!" Kairi stumbled back. "Damnit Sora! Go a bit easy on me huh?" she scowled as she caught her balence. "I'm still kind of new at this you know." She reached out and snatched her keyblade from him. Looking at it slightly, she got back into stance.

"Gwarsh Kairi, are you sure you'll be ready for the war?" Goofy asked as he scratched behind his ear.

A sigh. "I don't have a choice. I'm not leaving Sora and Riku to do all the fighting. I need to help this time...." She looked down and let out another sigh. "I'm not going to forget Sora's name again." Her eyes perked up again as she looked at the tall dog. "Besides, I need to made sure NaminêÂis ok too."

The dog blinked and thought a bit. "But isn't NaminêÂa part of you, Kairi?"

"I don't care! I need to make sure I can go whenever this will happen. You don't know what it's like to be without your friends for a long time. You got to venture out with Sora while I had to stay here and wonder when he was coming back. I won't do it again."

"Well, ok. If that's what your heart wishes Kairi." The dog smiled and nodded.

Kairi pushed back her hair and got back into stance. "Come on Sora, don't hold back this time ok? I'll put my best into it!"

[Reno]

Sora laughed. "you just told me to go easy on you! hypocrite." he got in his own stance, his eyes narrowing a bit. He'd still go easy on her, no matter what. She couldn;t possibly beat him, not in a million years. he cracked a smile. "Bring it on Kaaairi." he was teasing her of course.

[Rikugurl]

She blinked but laughed. "Well...... whatever!" He giggled but shook he head. "Alright, I won't hold back hmm??" She swung her keyblade a bit before charging at Sora. She really didn't understand why this keyblade chose her is she wasn't be best of fighters. Sora and Riku were such great ones... and Riku didn't even have a keyblade. Maybe... he should have one.

Unfortunitly, while thinking, she stumbled on a rock and fell face first into the dirt. "Aaaaaaaaah!"

BANG

Goofy flinched and hid his eyes. Slowly, he pulled his fingers away to see the girl's face covered in dirt. Oh no... this wouldn't do at all.

She spat the dirt out and shook her head. Another sigh. "Maybe we should take a break." She got up and dusted herself off before looking out at a cabin on the hill. "Hey Sora... have you seen Riku today? He didn't look to good last night after practice yesterday. Maybe you should go check on him."

[Reno]

Sora was still trying not to laugh at Kasiri's expense, a wide grin over his features. "nope.. haha... haven't seen him... haha... but i'll go haha check on him hahahahahaha"

[Rikugurl]

"STOP LAUGHING AT ME!" She growled and she clenched her teeth. She looked back at Goofy as he flinched again. "What do you do with him!?" She shook her head as she picke dup the keyblade and started heading back to the boat that would bring her back to the main land. "I'm going back home... maybe I need to get out of the tropics to get my mind back." She winked and waved to Sora. "I'll see you in the morning ok? Say hello to Riku for me and if something is really wrong with him, come and get me ok?" She bonked Goofy on the head before running off and into the boat that would bring her back to the main land.

"OUCH!" Goofy yelped as he was bumped. "Gwash Kairi~~" He shook his head and walk to Sora's side. "So, I guess we better check up on Riku huh?"

[Reno]

Sora grinned, offering Kairi a parting wave, then looked at Goofy with a nod. "Yeah, he has been rather sulky lately." Was it just him, or was Goofy and he eye level now? (was he get taller?)

Truth to be told, Sora had been worried about his friend ever since this whole war thing had been announced. Riku had been acting differently ever since - or then again, maybe that personality change had always been there. Lots of things happened in two years, two long years that he had no idea what had become of his best friend or even what experiences he went through.

Well not all of them - it wasnlt that they never talked it;s just whenever they did Sora always felt Riku was dancing lightly over a subject, or trying to keep things hidden and no matter what Sora did he couldn;t pry things out of the other male. then again THAT wasnlt any different Riku was stubborn as a cat with catnip.

The brunette ran a hand through his siky locks, loving the familar warm air, before turning around, where a bunch of palm trees, and a snoozing bit of white and blue was. He grinned sneakily, and he tiptored over to the little duck. The duck always seemed to be sleeping through their training exercises these days - not that Sora could blame him. Magic use was tiring and trying to teach both Riku and Kairi to use it efficently was well... a pain. He knew he tried and failed. There was no better teacher then the duck before him.

Sora leaned down, as quiet as possible, not even letting the grains of sand move under his feet. he cupped his hands around his mouth and moved close to where the duck's ear was and - "DOOOONALD!!!"

Donald sprung to his feet, wide awake with a loud, quacking cry. "quaaa! SORA!"

Sora burst into laughter, putting his hands over his stomach and nearly falling over. "You should see your face!"

The duck twitched, reaching for his staff, an evil gleam in his eyes. "Sora."

His mirthful laughter turned nervous. "hehe, now now Donald calm down!"

The staff was being rasied.

"it was a joke! a joke!" Sora cried, springing to his feet and with a laugh started running.

"Thunder!"

"Gah!" Sora cried, dodging the lightning with a quick glide. "you missed!"

[Rikugurl]

A horrible crackling in the back made Kairi jump in the boat, almost knocking her over. Lightning? Her hand moved to her lip in shock but a grin soon followed after as she heard giggling after the attack. Even in times of panic and seriousness, Sora was always able to keep in high spirits. That was what was so different between him and Riku.... and yet they were best friends. Guess opposites attract. She sat again and looked back at the island. She never thought she'd see her friends again.

Well.... that wasn't very true. She had faith that she'd see them if she believed. This war though... it frightened her... even more so that what if they lost each other again. Seeing Sora... on his knees crying in front of Riku was a real eye opener. There was something very important about those two. Like if... Riku was Sora's dark side or something. She laughed to herself softly. She was thinking too much. This training was getting her pretty tired lately. He just.... probably missed him so much.... or something.



Goofy hid under his sheld as the majick was cast. "DONALD!!" He cried as he was almost hit. As his friends started to yap playfully at each other, the captain of the royal knights walked up the sandy path towards the summer huts. This was really the first time him and Donald ever visited Destiny Island and it was easy to see why they wanted to get home so badly. It was beautiful with the tropic waterful, ocean, sand and lush greens.

The hut on the highest hill was where Riku decided to stay until the King came back with the bad news and that's where Goofy was headed.

The tropic sunset was the only thing that lit up the one bedroom hut as Goofy opened the door. "Uhmmm, Riku, ya here?" He asked as he popped his head in slowly and looked around. Opening the door more, the tall dog walked in, being careful not to startle the young man. The sight of a man sitting at the window made him walk a bit faster.

"Oh! There you are Riku. Where ya been? Ya haven't been out to train today." The dog started as he walked to the silver head.

Silver strains fell over the ocean colored eyes. He had been watching them train all day. It was clear that there was no way he would let this happen.

"Kairi can't come with us. I protected her in The World That Never Was...." A soft sigh. "This is all my fault."


Oh no...there he went again. Ever since they arrived back to this island, Riku was in poor spirits.

"It's my fault that I wanted to venture out of this borning island to find another world. I made the worst jinx ever... and now my friends have to suffer from my childish wishes...."

[Reno]

Sora had always, always found it fun to get a rise out of his short-tempered friend. Donald was just so funny when his feathers were ruffled. He did it out of love of course.

The bolts of eletricity and many snaps of ice attacks didn;t faze him in the least.

But it wasn;t long before both the playful duo noticed that the third member of their unshakeable party was missing.

"Hey uh... Goofy?" Sora looked around on the beach. oh right Riku! he could swee the dog in the distance, opening the door, "Come on Donald we;re gonna go cheer him up!" He took off, happily jumping from the beach to glide towards Riku's house, Donald flapping around behind him. Any distance he could get away from the magic-happy mage was a good distance at this point and time.

"Can;t wake me up like a normal fella." Donald squaked behind him. "Just you wait i'll get you back for it!"

He knew his friend wasn;t kidding, and thats what made Sora grin. a little fun in these troubled times was always welcomed.

He landed neatly on the doorstep, the door still open -Goofy's subtle invitation to come in and follow. The brunette teen didn;t pause, just walked in. Donald would be along any moment now and like the dog before him he left the door open.

"It's my fault that I wanted to venture out of this boring island to find another world. I made the worst jinx ever... and now my friends have to suffer from my childish wishes...."

Sora rasied an eyebrow Riku's curious words and he sighed. oh here we go again.

"Stop being so Emo Riku," Sora said with a grin, sliding to Goofy's side. Emo - it was a sterotype he had learned recently when he had come back, peronslally he found it to be the most hilarious thing he;d ever heard, but he loved using it on Riku just because it annoyed the other so much. But at least when he was annoyed he didn;t seem depressed. "And what do you mean your wish? I wanted to leave and see the universe just as much as you did, and Kairi did too Besides you can't honestly think that if you hadn't wanted to leave that none of this would have happened. now thats just silly."

the universe doesn't revolve around you Riku was the unspoken comment and like best friends who were used to this silent type of talk Riku would catch it.

[Rikugurl]

The tall dog looked at Sora as he talked and nodded in agreement. "That's right Riku! This would probably of happened even if you didn't say anything. It was just...umm...." The dog pulled up his hand and scratched his head. "Dumb luck?" A shrug.

"Dumb luck....?" The deep voice came from the man still at the window. The ocean eyes narrowed a bit before he suddenly stood. The long sliver hair pressed on the back shirt as he pushed it away from his face.

"The only thing dumb about this is that I'm stuck with you corny, happy-go-lucky bird brian, dog breath and...." He looked at Sora and smirked. "Hmmm......" He thought but grin more after awhile. "Cry-baby"

[Reno]

Donald stumbled in just at that moment, bewildered. When had Sora gotten so fast? And what was Riku saying about him?!

"Hey what's that supposed to mean!" Sora snapped, looking offended. He didn't know if Riku was joking or deliberatly being mean to get them to leave. He crossed his arms, tilting his head to the side a bit, more in a look of empathy then anger. He just wanted to figure out what was wrong with his friend.

"Pff at least were not emo and girly looking!" Sora grumbled. His words held no real bite though, he never really got mad at the other boy - even if Riku knew which buttons to push. Sora was more calm-tempered then people gave him credit for.

[Rikugurl]

"Gwash Riku! Don't say stuff like that to Sora!" Goofy exclaimed. "Ya know he was lookin all over the place for ya. Everywhere we went he grew sad when I got answers that nobody knew where ya were." He nodded as he secretively tried to smell his own breath.

"I know." The young man replied as he walked towards the door frame. "I was just joking." He said with a small smile and the messing of Sora's hair as he passed. Leaning against the side of the door, he looked outside.

"What I don't get is why we're actually waiting for this war instead of trying to prevent it. Wouldn't that be a better idea?"

The dog scratched under his small, yellow hat as he thought. "Well.... I really don't know. What do you think Sora?" He looked over at what to seem to be a blushing boy with meesy hair.

[Reno]

Sora in fact was blushing and he coughed in his hand nervously. "Um uh... I dunno?"

"Bah, what can a couple of teenagers do?" Donald spoke up sharply. "You've got no royalty sense."

"Well, we could go search for maleficent couldn't we?" Sora asked.

"if that witch doesn;t want to be found she won;t be." Donald grumbled. "You know not even Merlin can find her." That was true, if the best wizard they ever knew couldn;t find the witch, they had no real hope. She wouldn;t come out unless she wanted to. "We can;t do nothing but get prepared. Let King Mickey handle all the attempts at stopping it." Donald said. "If anyone can he can. and instead of running around blindly, like we always do, we can actually be helpful by training."

Sora frowned, nodding dismally. he had a feeling though that it wouldn't happen. the war was going to happen, he could feel it. Negotiating wouldn;t get them anywhere, but they couldn;t find any traces of an army either. It was just one big circle of running into dead end after dead end.

And Donald had a point - they really did run around without an aim most of the time, with no clues really leading them and only luck by their sides. he wished that's all they needed to stop this war...

Sora padded over to Riku, leading against the door, close to his friend and looked outwards at well, strangely thoughful. He;s been a little depressed about it for awhile now. He felt like he was constantly, like they all were, costantly being dragged into things that adults should be messing with. he was losing his childhood, had been ever since he was given the keyblade. Sure, the adventures were great, the worlds were beautiful... but now he had to go into a war? he;d heard horror stories in history class... how tramitizing they were...

"We can't let Kairi go..." Sora mumbled suddenly.

[Rikugurl]

The ocean eye boy looked slightly to his side, down at his best friend. Him and Sora had hardly anything in common, yet they had been the best of friends since as far as he could remember. Even if he decided to be the so called 'bad boy' and Sora deciding to be the 'goody-2-shoes', he knew that whenever this war started, they would have to fight in harmony just like they did not even a year ago.

I really envy you...

He pushed himself off the frame and walk passed Sora, letting his voice into a whisper. "We wont"


The taller boy walked over to the rambling duck and knelt down calmly. Suddenly he grabbed the ducks face and started streching it out and making him do weird faces. "Excuse me, but who was the one who fought by the King's side, huh?" He streched teh ducks face even more. "Don't tell me 'I got no royalty sense'." He dropped the duck as he stood and grabbed his off yellow, rip up shirt.

Pulling it over his black one, he looked at the three in his house. "I'm going to the Disney Castle. I need to talk to the King about this. War just doesn't start, it happens. Things lead up to it... and if I can even postpone it, I will."

[Reno]

Donald made some intelligable squaking sound, furious. Who did this kid think he was?!

"Then i'm going with you!" Sora said determinedly. He been seperated from Riku too many times in the past three years for his liking. he wasn't going to let it happen again!

Donald jumped up and down, waving his arms around angrily. "You can't just!" He turned to the dog. "Say something!" They couldn't just let them storm the castle! Mickey was hard at work doing all he could and two adolescents had no place nor no knowledge of these types of things!
