"Drink your water sweetheart."
"i know i know." Sora grumbled to his mother, picking up the cup and downing the drink in one shot. he had to go through this routine three times a day. once when he wakes up, once when he gets home, and one before he goes to bed.
3 years ago many would have said, 'what's the big deal? it;s just water it;s not important to drink.'
but then again 3 years ago, the water didn;t have an extra chemical to it. a chemical called Perapin.
Now he was getting ahead of himself. in 2050, a few countries had broken out into biological warfare. The United States included. He, living a simple life in Japan, knew freedom from that knowing only that the US would protect them. they were on their side. Has been since the 1940s. if he was remembering his history right.
Now, the warfare itself wasn;t so terrible, of course until the other countries began to attack US' allies. Japan included. The biological warfare was different then any other. when the bombs hit a city, it was like a plgue hit. you were dead within the hour.
now it was 2056, only 6 years after the warfare had begun. in 2053, United States researchers and scientists had discovered a chemical called Perapin. by drinking it, it built up the immune system and youer survival rate if a bomb hit was 90 percent. And side effects, of the chemical, if any, were unnoticable. it was added into the pipelines and the bottled waters. no water came without it anylonger.
At first Sora, being 13 at the time, and a rebel, didn;t want to drink it. until a month after the water was first introduced, a town 50 miles from his home was hit. everyone who died were those refusing to drink the water. Now when his mom said 'drink the water' sometimes he was faster then her words.
He learned Perapin was no different then the metal they put in bottled water, or the floride that was in tap water to build up your teeth. in the end it was saving his life.
Sora waved to his mother, then reached up, grabbing the keys from the hook near the door. he grinned. he;d only had his license for three monthes but every chance he got he drove. it was his turn today after all. he was sixteen. a junior.
"oi! raichu, ryten, vertix! come on we;re gonna be late for school!" Raichu was his older brother, a senior, ryten a year younger then him. vertix was still in middle school, so they;d have to make a quick stop there first.
