He held Kairi's hand tightly, they walked side by side towards the thrones, the many guests of people he both knew and didn;t know surronding them. nobles, kings, queen. princesses, princes, their parents siblings, friends; they all stepped aside though making way for the two that glided across the tiles, their postures normal yet still holding the royal air that would follow them to their deaths. The lights that came in through the windows seemed to shine over them, casting etherals glows over them.
Sora didn;t gaze but he scanned, seeing so many faces he recognized. the six other princesses of heart with their loves, he could see peter pan hangng at the top of the cielings, simba and a few from his pride hanging near a window, Ariel (who he still couldn;t believe had legs!) with her prince Eric, he could see someone he had jsut met today Rufus and his cousin Yolana standing off to the side, mulan, mushu, and he could continue to name more and more... but most importantly he saw his family. Sans and Gasts and of course the Hojos.
they came to the throne. Donald and Goofy stood in front of it, but with a smile and a bow, the knight and the wizard stepped aside letting them pass. Sora held a fond smile for his friends, even as he and Kairi walked in front of the thrones, turning to face the audience as practiced. all eyes were on them...
And for once his father wasn;t doing something embaressing.
Mickey walked up, smiling. "i, Mickey Mouse of Disney Castle, degree that Kairi the Virtuous, princess of pure heart," and at this Sora let go of her hand so that she could kneel down and let the mouse place the crown atop her head. the moment he straightened the mouse king stood in front of him. "and Sora the Valiant, Keyblader of light," Sora did the same, his spikes shooting out from the crowns inner ring, as he straightened, he took Kairi's hand again. "are hereby Queen and King of Radiant Garden." and together they sat down on their thrones. it was a momwent of silence, and then the room erupted in applause, cheers and happy laughter.
he couldn't help but feel a little dizzy at the ominous premonition that snuck through him. he knew it wasnl;t going to be easy on him or Kairi. They were going into something they had little to no knowledge of, and as keyblader he knew he'd be traveling not only to stop heartless but to keep alliances strong a lot.
He also knew they had just made a whole new batch of enemies, from assassiantors to the peasants who could rebel. Just from looking at some of the dark looks in the eyes of his counterpart world monarchs, he knew trouble was brewing.
But for now the smile on his face refused to leave, the light blush on his cheeks and the elation he felt just as strong. Kairi was in an even worse state her cheeks even far more rosier then his own. He would live up to his new title, sora the Valiant, a protect her with all his might.
No, no it wouldn't be easy.
But it could be fun.
