Kairi shivered holding him " Its not your fault Sora... there is nothing we could have done..."
Josh suddenly held his sister " Aeris... " he didnt know what to do... as much as he hated Raichu he knew how much his sister had loved him. He closed his eyes tightly " Why...?"

And thats how it was. no one was ever the same again. for some, it brought them closer together, for others...
the last time the nine were ever seen together was at Raichu and Riku's funerals. after that... they could never be together again. it just brought back bad memories.
Aeris, for example, lost all her love for life and lost all her sense of purpose.
Sephiroth and Rina, quite plainly, could never speak to each other again.
Sora was ridden with guilt for the rest of his life, and had run away from home, too ashamed to stay there. no one knew were he was or if he was even alive anymore.
Tifa, had to go to some intricate therapy, and could never stand going into a strange house ever again, and the shadows would always scare her.
that isn;t to say that nothing good came of this. for Diana she had had a son, one very much like Riku, and Rina and her affectionately named him so. Paine and Sephiroth, as well as Tifa and Josh went on to get married. only Kairi and Aeris were left without their loves... but they did move on.
Though, none of them ever went on another weekend getaway again.
