The new Ones

The bus stopped at the corner in the late night. The door opened and a few people stepped off. The driver looked up in her mirror to see one last person huddled up to a window. "Miss...this is our last stop."
she popped up to atttenchen and got her things together. The driver smiled as she walked off. She was always on the bus...and sometimes he caught her snoozing.
The woman walked up to the apertment not too far away from the bus stop. She put in her key and walked up the stairs to the 4th floor and down the hallway to her palce. Another key went into the hole and it turned, letting her in.

A sudden bark came within followed by fur and a long tounge. A small, fluffy, brown, black and white dog greeted the woman.
"Kapu...hush ok? You're not even suppose to be here, remember?" She walked inside and closed the door, hanging her black coat on a hook. She found her way to the kitchen, poured Kapu some water and filling his dogbowl up with some food. The dog happily started to chow down on his food.

The woman walked into a simple room and plopped down on her bed. She took off her nurse hat and her white boots. "I hate this job...but I've been doing it for so many years." he reached over and pressed the button on her naswering machine.

Xuan? I wanted to let you know that a woman came in today with a sword you had described to me.

Xuan turned and looked at the machine, while getting undressed from her nurse outfit. In her undergarments, she sat back on the bed and listened closely.

I know you asked me a few years back to keep my eye out for this sword, so I'm not sure if you're still interested. I'll keep it on hold for a week but after that, I'm going to sell it. So get back to me asap. bye

"A sword huh? Well...that was a long time ago." She took off her undergarments and walked to the bathroom, turning the water on and getting in. After the shower, she wrapped a towel around her upper body and brushed out her hair.
Kapu walked in her room and jumped on the bed, laying down. She walked in and out to the window. "Do you think I should look into that sword kapu?" The dog arose and walked by her side. She sat on the ledge and looked out. "maybe.....maybe I should leave the past behind. I've moved on you know?" She looked to her side to see a new newspaper on the floor. She smiled and patted Kapu on the head. "Thanks." She picked it up and looked at the headline.

"Gibbs and Manser at it again, what a great fight!"

She smiled warmly and placed it down. "I'm kinda glad...that our families died out. No more fighting...now there are new champs and heros for the young ones. It's said to know that i'm one of the last of a great fighting family. I'm never planning to have kids either you know? me being a lesbian and such, i don't think I have to worry about children." she laughed slightly. "I am glad though. The family was really getting out of hand. bad souls, brutal deaths, insest, and even my own parents had a horror story in it. My father's parents killed my mother's parents...but they still fell in love and had me and my brother...than.......everyone hated me because I even became tanted. Akki was horrible to me...and my mother, lost her love to me when she died. Akki took that sword and....." She looked down and closed her eyes.
"I miss Katrina and her little boy. We would.........we would have been so good together you know? But I could understand that she wanted to leave and make herself a better life. Then there is Mark...she won't leave me alone. I'll have to tell him tomorrow that...that I'm a lesbien. I should have told him when he started to call me."
she looked at kapu as he looked at her. "SO...what's your opinion?"
Kapu barked and she laughed. "Come on...let's get some sleep"

no i'd love to join. i have nothing else to do! truth to say i've missed rping. you know whats scary? Gibbs is one of my friend's last name.

A star. that word brings up so many definitions. a child would say 'oh its those sparkly things in the sky.' a more teenaged person would say 'an actor or singer.' and an adult? well no one really listened to them anyways so there opoinon never counted.

well for the definitions we do have, this young woman, only 21 (considered one of those adults), was looking at stars and was one. A singer.

What was about adults that made children and teenagers either completely ignore you or pay the rapt attention? After all, they listen to teachers. what makes a room of 36 pay attention to you? they highly outnumber one. is it the fact you can;t survive without an education make that happen? the common natural instinct for survival?

and what was it about stars? Why did they get all this affection? Fandom? love? adoration?

the woman shivered. she could just imagine her pictures strewn across horny teenager walls or memory space totally deleted from all the images and data some people must have of her on computers. adult or not she got more respect then she needed and more hungry lustful eyes then she would like.

"Rina Ogata! get in here! we have a concert to do tomorrow and i can;t have you falling off the stage!" Her partner and longtime friend yelled at her in a teasing way.

Rina smiled, "Coming Yuki." She walked off the balcony shutting the glass doors then turned to smile at her friend, "thats why we have a magical being called caffine."

Yuki rolled her eyes already dressed and ready for bed, her long black hair still damo from her shower and her dark eyes regarding her best friend cooly in an adukt matured way, then she smiled just lightly, "caffine makes your voice awful."

Rina merely waved her off then took her leave to the bathroom. She looked into her reflection.

she wasn;t gloating this just stating the obvious. she was beautiful. long coppery hair that turned purple or even marron under the concert lights, the majority of it being hung down to her sholder blades, but two small pieces one on each side of her head that is being held up by red ribbons and cut short not even reaching her ears when she did decide to turn then loose from there restraints. shining chestnut eyes that flashed to amber whenever she was excited or happy (or under the right lights) and to dark brown whenever she was upset, angry or sad. she was lean and graceful and a singer. what more would there need to be said? she was like an angel who walked out of heaven.

or at least thats how her fans described it.

"I don;t hear any water!"

Rina snorted and grinned, "Well thats cause you deaf to anything that doesnl;t have your little boyfriend in it."

"leave Miroko out of this!"

Rina laughed lightly but she had to admit, she was jealous of her friends luck. she and Miroko had become together before the two of them started Leaf. The two were in love and happy, not because of Yuki's fame or beauty, but because... well no one could really explain love.

Anyone i try to find now, now that i'm who i am, would want me for my looks or money. Damn you Yuki. You don't have a clue how lucky you are. She had thought more then once about leaving Leaf and try to lead a normal life, but dissappointing Yuki and her 'loveing and adoring fans' held her back. she just couldn;t do it. Besides singing was her life. she only felt truly alive when she sung. if she quit that well, it would be like telling herself not to breathe. It just couldn;t be done.

Rina sighed. It didn;t matter anymore. it was too late. Love was not going to find her.

"Water?!"

Rina laughed and obeyed this time. She turned the dial and the facet turned on water streaming out quickly.

Tomorrow was another day another concert. Another time she will once again feel alive.

She turned off the water and shoved her tooth brush into her mouth.

Kaup walked to his bowl and started to drink some water. The sun was shineing and birds were singing away outside. He loved saterdays, Xuan didn't have to work and she could walk him to through the city. She was so kind to him. he knew that he wasn't suppose to be in the apartment for it was against the rules but she kept his as her own after she found him in the road with a broken paw.

Xuan walked out and started to get dressed. "So, where are we going today? The cafe or to the library?"

Kapu barked and walked into her room.

When she was done dressing herself, she walked to the hallway and got a leash. He clipped it onto Kapu's collar and smiled. "Ok, let me get my keys and we're off!" She grabbed the keys in the kitchen and walked outside with the leash wrapped around her wrist.

She stepped outside and looked around. The streets were busy and people walked by her without a notice. That would change though...it always did.

Her hair was short in the back and longer in the front. It was a shiney black, always healthy. She wore a fitting red dress that went to the middle of her thigh. It had a few dragons coming down the sides. She was a thin young woman, about 26, with fair pale skin. A few scars from her fighting days were still visable but that didn't matter.


"Hello nurse!" a few men yelled across the street as she walked by. She rolled her eyes and continued to walk on. Most of the people in her neighborhood knew that she was indeed a nurse.

She walked along the street and came to the city's public corner. It was so busy...but that was to be expected. A guy walking towards her bumped into her shoulder, almost knocking her down. "Oh, sorry there sweet cheeks." She got her balence and glared at him. "Oh bite me pervert!"

She frowned and started back on her way. Kapu growled but got back on track when his leash was tugged.

"Hey Miss Gainsborough! Wait up!" Xuan stopped and looked back. "Mark...I told you not to call me by my last name in public!" she stressed under her breath. "Sorry Xuan...I just had to get your attenchen you know? Hey...I um, wanted to ask you....Well you see, I have two tickets for tonights concert. I heard it was going to be big. Rina Ogata is going to be singing you know? She's pretty popular in other cities. I tought you might wanna come with me."

Nothing was getting passed her. "So why did you buy two tickets?"

"Oh...well....i was going to take my mom."

"your mom huh? Well, I'm not interested in that sort of thing...remember I was a fighter for most of my life, you won't catch me dead at some popstars love me fest." She turned back and started to walk off.

[Reno]

Rina was brushing her hair from her perch on the balcony as she looked down at the earth trodden floor with disdain. servalel people were outside her window screaming like bats.

ok that was a little cruel, but honestly didn;t she deserve some time alone? they were all prtically going to see her tonight.

Rina shook her head and looked away. It was never a good idea to go out the day of a concert when your a star.

Yuki on the other hand was quite an attention lover. she was waving down at then admibly and yelling back, even sending down slips of paper with her signiture on it, which the crowd grasped for as if it were a life line.

hmph, Dog... She thought of her friend playfully. but truthfully, they weren;t as interested in Yuki. It was her they wanted. she was the main attraction. Yuki was only backup. secondary. not as important.

Sometimes i wish it was the other way around. Attention never really was my thing. It's not going to make me happy. Rina shook her heasd. Yuki was happy though so maybe thats why she could take this in such an easy stride.

Rina threw the comb back onto the hotel room floor, then leaned against the railing and looked down quietly. might as well entertain them. they weren;t going to leave.

A bunch of noise came a few blocks away. mark looked in the direction and almost pissed himself. "OH! It must be Rina Ogata! Come on Xuan!"

"No, I sai....!" Mark grabbed her wrist and pulled her down the street. Kapu chased behind happily. Xuan pulled but Mark's fan grip wouldn't let. "Mark please! Stop this you fool!"

They turned a corner to see a huge bunch of girls and a few men looking up at a balcany. Mark ran over, with Xuan still attched and looked up as well. "Oh Rina! I'm your biggest fan!" Mark tried to yell over the noisy crowd.

Xuan pulled her hand back and frowned. "Oh..you're all idiots. Such sheep, such cattle!" He dusted herslef off and pulled kapu close. "Let's get out of here..." He turned from the crowd and started to walk off.

[Reno]

Rina sighed looking down at them then heard a man's call. it was amazing she even had considering how hard she was trying to drone it all out.

The old 'i'm your biggest fan' technique? how cliche. she rolled her eyes. this had to stop.

She held up her hand slowly and gradually the crowd became silent, catching her message.

Yuki froze in her actions knowing what was coming next. she smiled. this was ok, her hand was getting tired. from the corner of her eyes though she noticed someone already walking away. Curious...

"It's very... nice of you all to be out here like this." Rina said slowly and Yuki knew had melted to little puddles by just hearing the majestic voice. Yuki shut her eyes and grinned.

"Now please get lost so i can eat in peace." her eyes narrowed down at them.

Mark caught up with Xuan as the crowd dispersed. "Why did you go? Didn't she have the greatest voice?"

Xuan glared at him. "Listen Mark...i want you to leave me alone. I'm not interested in you are any person who get's whatever they want because of one talent they have, ok?"

She stopped and sighed. Kapu sat down by her side and looked up at mark.

Xuan looked a him and took a deep breath. "Listen...mark....I'm a...a lesbian. I'm not interested in you ok? So please find someone else to call everynight...and find someone else to go to the concert with you. I'll be staying home alone tonight working on some paper work. please, just go and have fun and leave me out of it."

Mark blinked as she finished. "You're a lesbo? No wonder you're so good looking!" He smiled. A sudden pain came to his right cheek as Xuan slapped him across the face.

"men..." She turned once more and walked away.

Mark opened his eyes and frowned. "Oh wait Xuan! I didn't mean that!" He caught up to her and grabbed her wrist. "Please, just come to the concert with me. I know you'll enjoy it! You need to have some fun for once!"

[Reno]

Yuki laughed as she followed Rina back inside, shutting the doors. She didn;t useally talk. useally she just asked for silence and walked inside, locking them inside. Yuki guessed her partner must of been in a bundle of nerves. Concert days made her nervous no matter what and snapping at people useally helped. Yuki shook her head. Herself? she was never nervous. she took stuff in stride. be carefree and give it everything. that was her motto.

"God..." Rina said frustrated as she looked for some coffee.

"Told you you'd be tired. and no coffee!" Yuki complained. She didn;t want Rina;s voice to be jumpy for the concert. Rina got to hyper when she was on caffine. like it was a drug.

"grr... bite me." Rina hissed but did as she was told. Yuki was older only by a year but still. Rina listened obdinently.

"Just...just leave me alone!" He pulled herself away and started to run home. Even if she walked in them for a few years now, high heels were something that not many people could run in. She almost fell on her face but caught herself. She stopped and took off her heels and started to run again.

Mark came from the street and started to chase after her. "Xuan! Please come back! I'm sorry!"

She walked to the apartment and pulled out her key. Kapu barked as he looked at her. She opened the door and closed it before mark was able to get inside.

"Come on Xuan...you're acting like a teenager..."

"Go away...I hope you find someone to go with to that stupid fan love fest of a concert...you should ask your mom since that's the person you wanted to go with you anyway." With that she turned and walked to the elevator.

[Reno]

Rina sighed laying down on the bed and shut her eyes. in a few hours she was going to have to start getting ready...

It was sunset. The best time of day. A crowd had gathered and was pratically screaming.

She stared at her reflection, her hair was in place. Her eyes had turned golden-brown in anticipation. Her attire consisted as such: Black shoes, stockings that went up only to her upper thighs, thin gloves that went up to her upper arms, and a blue gold and white dress.

"You ready?" Yuki said teasingly. She was almost the counter part of Rina. Darker hair being held be a pink ribbon, darker eyes, her dress was more like a sailors dress and it was red and white with a large pink ribbon tied around the waist, white gloves and stockings and shoes. totally opposite and Rina dark think, beautiful as well.

"Aren't i always?" Rina purred, making sure her voice was ready. She pushed away her nervousness and together, they stepped onto stage into the jaws of a monster.

"I still don't know how you got me into this Mark..." Xuan tried to talk over the screaming and yelling.

"Oh don't worry Xuan...you'll have fun. Once you hear Rina's voice, you'll totally love it! I know you will."

Kapu started to whine as he looked at his empty dog bowl....


"You better be right...I don't have this type of time to waste..."

"Oh come on and cheer up Xuan. You look beautiful...even if you're a lesbian i'm sure you'll have a great time with talking to guys." Mark smiled as he looked at her.

She was wearing a tight white shirt that said 'I <3 my body' on it with a flare out red skirt. She wore high boots with white and black stockings. Her lips were a fire red and her eyes were dazed up in a pretty sparkle black. She looked like a doll.

He himself was embarrassed as he just wore a plain shirt and jeans.

Then the crowd went wild and Xuan looked up towards the stage. Two women walked out and started to wave at the crowd.

"here we go..." Xuan muttered.

[Reno]

The two of them stood on the stage silently for a moment then Rina lifted the microphone she was holding to her lips and began to speak, "Well i hope you all are ready! Cause it's time to get this show started!"

A cry was her answer and she smirked. Yuki stood behind her and waved to their band to begin to play. It made the crowd go wild and they hadn;t even sung a word.

Then her cue came, and Rina began to sing.

her voice....was amazing. it was like...she was an angel up there...the lights...everything...made me feel so...so...

Xuan looked away and frowned. Mark on the other had was screaming and clapping. How could you enjoy such music if you're acting like an idiot?

However, after awhile he noticed Xuan. "What's wrong?"

Xuan looked at him and shook her head. "Nothing...I need some air." she pushed her way through the crowd and walked to the empty halls of the large theater.

she sat down and looked at the floor. "hmm..."

why couldn't I be up there? why do I have to...why did I have to choose that path of living? To be loved like that...i was like that once...but...i had to work at everything I did...then i was destroyed. It will happen to her to! once she hits her lows...no one will know her! no one will remember her name! Oh it's not worth it Rina...it's not.
