The man pushed his glasses up, clearing his throat. "If I remember right, it is the season...Mating season...she's calling out for a male." He looked down the dock at her. "She wants to mate. However, there are no Nadir anywhere around here, not even close."

"Yes...there is a lot of odd things about her...Telling her age...she should have gone through 2 mating seasons already...however, she doesn't have the markings of a mother. You see, after a Nadir has her first child, the cheif of the tride will put spikes under her lip. This tells the other Nadir of the tribe that she is now a mother and that she will defend it of all cost. She has no spikes...so she has never mated before..."
