About a week later, Toshiko was on the back porch, hanging up some clothes. She wore a nice red dress, it was ripped at the bottom...then again, she made it herself.

Akki was standing outside his house staring out, he sighed. hed basically taken over his mothers life since she died... she asked him to protect the port as her dying wish and he would.

She sighed as she finished and looked around at the port. She walked down the stairs and t the front of the house.

She walked down the docks and looked around. Most of the people that lived on the port was use to her now...The sun was setting on the horizon was she walked to an empty dock.

Akki walked over to where he had his mothers sword and just stared at it " I dont know if I want to keep this up too much longer mom"

She walked to the edge and sighed, hanging her feet off the edge. She looked up at the new night sky and sighed. She then let out a few small cries towards the ocean.

Akki blinked looking back, shed been doing that every night... he could tell she didnt like it here at all

There was a sudden knock on Akki's door. An old man stood there, hunched over a cane. He seemed quite happy and eger.

"Well...hello there young man...I couldn't help but hear the cries of that Nadir on the port. I saw her walk from this house...so I figures that this fine creature lives here with you. I haven't seen a Nadir for 30 years...it's really amazing to see one...so young too." He held out his hand and smiled. "my name is Dr. Grace...I have studied Nadirs for 20 years...but then they made me stop seeing that they were becoming protected creatures. I have learned their traditions and life-style."
