I tilted my head to one side. "first one?" I was suddenly reminded of the desolate landscape I'd seen just a few moments before. "what happened to the woods around this camp?"

I looked at him and sighed. "I told you already!" She wrapped the cut with some cloth. " The monsters bestroyed everything..."

I decided not to ask about the monsters. it would probably just get her down. I drew my arm back and flexed it. I grinned. "I can hardly even feel it."

I smiled as I looked up at him. Suddenly there was a horn blow not too far away. I stood and grabbed my sword. "Damnit...they're coming again."

I stood up. "what?" I heard People rushing all around the tent. saw their shadows on the fabric. "what's going on?"

"The Heartless are coming." She looked at him and frowned. "Stay here...it's not safe for the wounded." She ran out and got on the chocobo. They hadn't been here for awhile.

I couldn't do anything. I just stood there watching the shadows on the walls of the tent. suddenly, an odd shape ran by. one of the monsters. it looked familiar. it only took a second for words to form themsleves on my lips. "it's a heartless."
no sooner had they left my mouth, then i was plunged into darkness again. it was the same as before. but this time, I heard a woman's voice. she was calling out. "Garret." softly at first, then a little louder. "help me." until it became a gut wrenching cry for help. "GARRET!! HELP ME!!! HELP ME GARRET!! PLEASE!!!"
my skin crawled as a grassy field appeared before me. then a fence. and inside the fence a barn. the screaming continued. "GARRET, HURRY!!!" it was coming from the barn. I started running toward it. I tried to call out to her, but no words came. as I passed the fence, more heartless appeared in front of me, but I didn't care. I just kept running toward to barn and the screaming woman.
I ran straight into the heartless and struggled to get through them to my goal. but i was soon caught. I felt my arm going numb where it had grabbed me. then, another got hold of me. and another. there seemed to be no limit to them. my entire body was going numb. I started to fall. but not to the ground. it was as if I were going through the ground which I had just been standing on. my sight was becoming narrower as I sank, slowly being replaced by darkness. I began to panic as I realized there was no escape. and that noone could help the woman in the barn. I could still hear her screams. she had given up on help and was pleading for her life. as the barn disappeared from my eyes, I heard her scream for the last time, before her assailant cut her down.

"CHARGE!!" I steered the chocobo off when the comand was given. The bird traveled with much speed as it cought up with the others.
I saw it there...a huge figure...It was giant compared to us. 20 warriors stood infront of Darkness, the ones leader of the heartless.
This was going to be big. I grabbed my sword and pulled on the birds reins. "COME ON!"
The bird dashed to the huge beast along with the others.
I hoped my friend would be ok...

"NO!!" I was back in the tent, on the ground sweating bullets. my breathing was ragged as I looked around me. there were now mostly heartless outside. I decided that I had to help. I saw a staff sitting in the corner and scooped it up. as soon as I did that, a heartless crashed through the side of the tent, taking the whole thing down. I got above the fabric and stabbed the heartless through the cloth.

The chocobos screeched as we attacked the huge Heartless. I growled as I stabbed the creature, only for my sword to go through it like a ghost. I looked up and saw the haunting eyes looked down at me. His huge hand reached back then down towards me....
...and then....there was darkness....

the staff went directly through the heartless, and it disappeared. I turned around to see Darkness. it dwarfed the heartless at its feet. chocobos carrying men and women were scurrying about beneath it as well. I decided that's where I needed to go, and I began to fight my way through the heartless towards the scene before me. I caught one in the side. and another in the face. I started running. fueled by pure determination, I worked towards my goal. nothing would stop me this time.

The heartless moved over my limp body. War cries filled the air as a few men and women fell to their death...Heartless were not known to kill people...but here...they did.

finally, I drew near the monsterous beast. I slowed my pace as it plucked up one of the men and tossed him aside. he landed high in a tree about fifty yards away. just then, Leer came running up to me. "wark!" he danced in a nervous fashion as he squaked and whistled. where's Fiona?. I looked around but didn't see her. then I turned my attention back to the Darkness looming overhead. without even knowing why, I mounted Leer and steeled myself for the upcoming trial.

The Heartless were killed left and right but Darkness kept them coming. Chocobos fell to the ground dead, along with their riders. I opened my eyes slightly...but I had hit my head too hard to get back up...

I picked up a bow and some arrows off the ground and spurred Leer on into battle. it was a rough ride as Leer hudled the dead littering the field, but I didn't feel the least bit sick. I fired an arrow at the behemoth, but it flew wide. I let go another, which stayed on target. but the arrow disappeared into its body. it didn't even flinch. "huh?" I directed Leer under its feet and held the staff where it would hit the heel. but instead of hitting anything at all, it passed right through him. "damn! how do you kill something you cant touch?!"
