Tensai had to laugh, seeing his buddy acting so foolish, but he too was watching the battle closely, and they all saw Roserade flinch, her attack hesitating. Roxy saw it too and wasted no time. Kegan was faltering due thanks to the rain, and he wouldn't be able to keep dodging those attacks! "QUICK ATTACK!"
"QuiiiiilAVA!" Came a shout, the Pokemon shooting forward suddenly, his speed kicking it up a notch, but she didn't stop there. "AND FLAME WHEEL!" The white glow of quick attack was combined with the vicious colors of fire, the Pokemon seeming to glimmer like a shooting star as he sped over the ground in seconds and hit Roserade head on.

"ROSERADE!!" The pokemon flew backwards, hitting the ground hard. Slowly, she pushed her little body up from the mud, looking over her shoulder as she panted. She was about to pull herself up but flinched again as the burn marks glowed over her body. Everyone gasped when a red beam shot out over the arena and the Roserade disappeared. "WHOOO!!!" Bonnie clapped first, than was quickly joined by the others. "YEA! GO SIS! YOU SHOW THOSE GRASS TYPES" Roxel continued to do a stupid little dance but yelped when he was tripped, falling down flat on his face when Gunnar tripped him. His limbs twitched, not realizing he was being called a jerk because Gunnar had a grass type of his own.
"Alright, great job, my dear.... but can you keep it up?" Gardenia smiled, not losing her spunk even as an old woman. Another ball flew out and in the rain, a new Pokemon appeared, one that made Bonnie smile. It was a Grotle! "GROTLE!" It roared over the arena but it didn't look very scary, everyone easily seeing the acorns growing on it's bushes. "Let's bring that weasel down with Razor Leaf!" The turtle like pokemon hunched his back out and from it's bushes, leave shot out, as sharp as blades as they flew across the arena towards the quilava.
"This is great!" Bonnie smiled, grabbing Roxel but his collar and sitting him up straight. "Grotle doesn't have any moves that quilava is weak against." "Jeez, didn't you learn anything from your dad? It's now about what the pokemon is weak against, it's how you battle." "Well it sure helps, know it all!" She snapped back, growling when she saw that smug smile on Gunnar's face again. "Goes to show you why you're not a trainer~" "OH YEA! YOU AND ME OUTSIDE AFTER THIS FIGHT!" "Don't embarrass yourself~" "GUYS! You're missing it!"
The grove Pokemon, though big and bulk, was able to avoid the attack called, what it actually was being missed by the watchers. That didn't matter though because Bonnie was just proven wrong at the next order. "Grotle, roll out!" "GROT!" Suddenly, the pokemon's head and extremities disappeared and the shell began to spin quickly, then shot out towards Kegan, attracting rocks and sticks as it went.

"Ah?! A ground type move?!" Tensai cried - but of course. Grotle WAS part ground! And that meant big trouble for Luci and her fire types!
"Quil?!" Quilava cried, seeing the Pokemon coming - there was no hope for escape or defending himself. So Roxanne only had one option, and she yelled it over the sound of the rolling Pokemon, the noise growing into "MEET IT HEAD ON THEN, FLAME WHEEL!" Red eye narrowed in determination before the Pokemon shot forward and with a jump, began to roll himself.
"Here's where you want to look away Namine." Tensai advised, knowing who the winner would be. It wasn't even the attack strength anymore-
"LAVA!"
-It was the weight and momentum they built up that determined the winner. And Grotle weighed an entire two hundred pounds more than the slim and small Quilava. There was no chance. Quilava flew and hit the ground hard, flames bursting out instantly as the Pokemon laid there, swirls in his eyes. "Ah..." Roxy stood there, baffled and suddenly looking a bit worried. How had that...? "Come on Roxy, don't give up!" Tensai called, "You've still got the advantage."
She grit her teeth, reaching for Hotaru's Pokeball knowing Grotle wasn't very fast. But then, hesitated again, remembering what her Uncle had said to Terra. "You need to learn from your battles kid, or you'll never be a good trainer." Against that ground type move... she would just be making the same mistake twice. She placed the Pokeball back and reached for another, "Skye! Let's do this!" There was a burst of light and in the sun that was slowly revealing itself, the metal bird gleamed as she soared through the air, giving a loud cry. "Ah, great choice!" Tensai applauded. Lucina, who was being silent and just studying her rival, also silently approved. Flying types still had the advantage over grass types, and they were immune to ground type moves. She was thinking this time, not letting her anger get the best of her.

"Huh...." A brown eyebrow rose as his sea green eyes watched the metal bird zip through the sky above. He had to admit, that was a good choice. Skarmory was immune to poison and the only thing that really brought it down easily was fire. Of course, Grotle weren't born with fire sacs. "Ah, what a good choice!" Gardenia agreed but she knew she had to act fast with a quick opponent. Or one would say, the fastest bird in the sky! "Let's start out with double team!" She ordered, seeing the grotle stop it's spinning and looked up towards the sky.
Instantly, the group had to blind a few times as it saw the grass type suddenly double, triple, quadruple and more! Eight grotles were now on the field, all looking up at the bird flying around. Before Skarmory could remember which was the original, all of them moved around in a circle. "Now use solar beam!" All eight began to glow, sucking in the sun that was now visible to create a devastating blow. If Skye or Roxy didn't find the real one quickly, the battle could become one sided quickly.
"Can I look now?" Namine whimpered, having heard the terrible cry from Kegan and was now too afraid to look. It was the opposite for Bonnie, who was staring at the real grotle. This was a trick that her dad ventus actually taught her. It was to help her with her performances, to wow the judges even more because she actually used double team quite a bit in some of her acts to make the stage look fuller. The true difference between the real pokemon and the fakes were that the real one casts a shadow. Her daddy Ven told her that she would have to make the stage and arena she was working in darker so it would be harder to people to quickly pick up on. Now in this type of place with the sun shinning and an extra light from the solar beam getting ready, Roxy shouldn't have a hard time picking which one to attack.
Hopefully...
"OH! OH! IT'S THE----MMHHHPPPPPPN!!!" Tensai had to push his hand over his best friend's mouth. If he told his sister which one to pick, she could be instantly disqualified!

"Ummm," Sanyi watched the progression of the battle and shook his head, even though he knew she couldn't see him. "You better not." "Don't distract her." Tensai chastised lightly, to his friend, taking his eyes from the fight to give the other a slight nudge. Still silent, green eyes narrowed as she watched another blonde-haired, green-eyed girl (maybe it was because they looked so alike that they secretly hated each other) in the heat of battle. Her confidence was wavering, uncertainty was beginning to play on her face. She didn't like Roxanne much, but even she felt a pang for the girl who had no idea what a gym battle was really like. It was nothing like a trainer's battle - it was somehow more intense and it was easy to panic; to forget even the basics. She remembered her first gym battle - she had lost. Badly.
She almost wished she could tell the blonde to not lose her cool now, not when it was most critical she stay calm and controlled. But it was her lesson, and perhaps her own pride, that kept her silent.
Double team. Ugh, what did her dad say... about double team!? Absol knew it... Ugggh... Absol knew it and... And... Roxanne felt her heart speeding up as she watching the Grotle moved - she had time. Solar beam to time to charge, but she couldn't wait forever. "Skaaar..." Skarmory called nervously from overhead, flying in circles and looking nervously down at his opponents, wishing her master would give an order! There were three ways to see past double team... The first was a flaw in the others. Absol... Absol couldn't perfect it, so therefore, all of his doubles stood still. Sometimes the signs weren't that obvious - and she didn't expect a gym leader's Pokemon to have such difficulty. The second was... the second was... ooh... something about light and... something... "MORY!" There was another call. Um, uh! The third one was.......was to....... Bingo.
"Skarmory! Hit them all! Air cutter!" Roxy called. Relieved, the bird acted quickly as she dove and rose in zig-zagging patterns, blue curving bits of magic shaped like boomerangs sliced through the air and hit it's targets dead on. The attack was fast, just like the bird herself was.

Brown eyes narrowed from across the stage, watching her grotle's bushes glow as it soaked up energy from the sun to power the beam. She knew this was a risky move; a power charge attack against such a fast pokemon, but there wasn't much else she could do, knowing that she wasn't allow to substitute like the challenger. She was hoping the double team would buy her some time. Sometimes it did, others, not so much. A smile was slowly appearing when the attack was almost finished and Roxanne was still debating on what to do. She felt sorry for the girl but there was always the trill of winning.
Until she heard a very smart order.
"NOW GROTLE!" She quickly called after the girl's order and just as the fakes were getting cut down first, the premature beam shot out, not having a much strength as a complete attack would have but if it hit right... "GROTLE!" The turtle was hit hard, making it fly back and whatever mirage was still up, no longer stood due to lack of concentration. And of course, as she thought, the fast metal bird dodged the beam effortlessly. "Come on! You can do it!" Gardenia encouranged but it wasn't enough for another devastating aerial attack was ordered, only seeing the large turtle get thrown about and whipped around like it only weighted a feather.
She winced when he crashed into the ground and sighed. "Nice job! Come back, Grotle!" The beam shot out, energizing the swirly eyed pokemon and setting the ball onto her belt. "Ok, goooooooooooo Tropius!" "Tropius?" Gunnar blinked, staring out at the large grass pokemon. That's right... gym leader pokemon don't live forever either. "Get up in the air and use body slam!" With an effortless beat of the large leaf wings, the fruit pokemon was lifted into the air, flying effortlessly even though it looked pretty odd. It was still dangerous in the sky too. "TROOOOOO!!" Wings pulled back and the 220 pound pokemon put all its weight down towards Skarmory.

"WHOO! Go Roxy!!" Tensai called along with Roxel as a second air cutter attack hit home - but this battle wasn't over yet. Her last call was a surprising - and worrying - one. Tropius could fly as well...
And Gardenia wasted no time calling for the grass-type to get into the air for a devastating blow. But Roxanne was ready for it and she called, "Skye, get around with Aerial Ace!" "Mory!" Came a lilting call before the bird glowed white and twisted around the falling grass-type with a boost of extra speed. She twisted up in mid-air and came down on top of the other.
Tensai grinned - he knew that move. "Use peck! Faber you got him!" "Not quite~" His daddy Sora's eyes gleamed. "Arrow, Aerial Ace!" "Hooo?" The Hoot-hoot said in confusion as the Staravia he was battling seemed to dodge around him, before cutting back and hitting him from behind. "Ah, Faber!" "Come on Ten-chan! You can do it!!" Roxel was calling from the sidelines while the girls' painted their nails and Sanyi was just lounging in the grass. Roxy paid more attention than he thought.

"Tropius!" Gardenia cried, seeing her pokemon getting hit by the swift move. This may have been Roxanne's first gym battle but she was doing an amazing job. "Recover and hit it with magical leaf!" The mighty leaves flapped and the large creature rolled in the air, beating his wings again to pull him up. They glowed for a moment and then suddenly the sky was fulled with glowing dark leaves. The leave shot out towards Skye, not faltering from the speed of the bird as they were like homing devices. Though they were just leaves, when they hit the metal surface, they left magical burn marks on it's exterior. "Ah! Come on Roxy!"
"NOW! ROCK SMASH!" "TROOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" The fruit pokemon roared, flipping in the sky as it's neck suddenly glowed bright. With one close curve, the pokemon slammed it's neck into the fast bird below, knowing him down towards the ground hard. "Ehh!!" Bonnie and the rest had to cover their heads as the ground exploded from the impact. Great.... now that his hair was soaking wet, it was now full of dirt and rocks! A green eye opened slowly before a blue one followed, looking out to see a large hole in the middle of the field. "Skye?"

"Skaaa...." Came a pathetic call from the hole, the metal bird laying at the bottom of the hole on her back, a foot twitching some and swirls in her eyes. Roxanne frowned before reaching for the bird's pokeball and calling her back. "You did great," She said softly, before setting the ball back on her belt. Now what? She couldn't use Hotaru. Even though he was fast, with this pokemon's flying ability, she couldn't hope to land a hit. She didn't want Charlotte in this fight either because she was so much tinier... She could use Sayen, but her Bayleef didn't even know vine whip. And she needed to get Tropius out of the air.
That left only one choice...
"Alright Borva, you can do it!" In a flash of light, the silver-colored fox appeared. "Niiine!" But, other than with Lucina... she had never battled with Borva before. "You ready for this?" "Tails!" Nine, silver-colored tails fanned out, looking excited. A battle - a real gym battle! Just like the ones her parents told her about. She puffed out her chest, trying to look strong.
Roxanne grinned, knowing the fox wouldn't let her down easily. So she made the same call she made when she first battled with her. "Alright... let's start this off - will-o-wisp!" "Nine!" The fox tilted her head back and blue fire shot out and streaked into the air, splitting into candle-like flames that circled around Tropius before closing in on him, creating instant burn marks.

"Ah, what a beautiful Ninetales you have!" The gym leader smiled, seeing how shiny the fox's coat was, let alone her alternative colors. She was certainly a rare gem! And she didn't wait to attack. "Tropius, disburse it with Whirlwind!" "Tropius!!" The gigantic leaves flapped again, this time sending a strong flow of air against the fire attack coming up. Effortlessly, the winds blew out the fire, but it didn't cool off the heat of this battle. "She truly is beautiful but maybe not the best choice. Tropius, land!" Again, looking rather funny, the large pokemon gracefully corkscrewed down until it landed gently on the ground.
"Let's finish this battle! EARTHQUAKE!" "W-WHAT!?" Roxel's eyes widened, hearing the order being called with a maleficent tone. He knew that attack pretty well, knowing that Ty again was pretty good at it. It was actually a great attack to know, especially for a fire type because everyone knew... ground attacks were fire's worst nightmare. Another roar filled the arena as the Tropius reared on it's back legs and slammed it's front legs down, creating a domino effect through the crust of the earth. Jagged rocks shot up from the ground as the force shot through it, heading straight for Borva.
"Ah...." Exotic eyes watched intensely, seeing her girlfriend tense up again. If she didn't do something immediately, she was going to lose this close battle. "ROXY!"

"What do you mean...?" Roxanne asked in confusion, trying to think of her next move since will-o-wisp failed. But, she wasn't give much time before she discovered what the gym leader meant. That attack...
Now she knew she was in trouble. She had to get Borva out of there! But how?! Unless she could fly-
Wait. Maybe she could fly. "Borva hurry! Get into the air!! Razor wind, into the ground." "NINE!" Nine glorious tails fanned out behind her, the tips of them glowing as she jumped and flipped. She swished the tails and nine strikes of razor wind his the ground - and vaulted her up into the air. You could almost imagine she was soaring. "Heh..." Lucina chuckled at the sight. "THAT'S AWESOME!" Tensai cried.
But Roxanne wasn't done yet. "Flamethrower!" "NINE!" This time flames of red, orange and yellow burst out towards the ground. She knew the attack was too long range. She had fought Salamence enough times to know when a Pokemon could fly, no matter how fast they were, they were much more maneuverable around attacks. It was up in the air, and the flames hit the grass, turning into a small bonfire. Borva landed, growling some as she looked up towards Tropius. But before Gardenia could make a call, Roxanne made another, bolder one that shocked them all. "Borva, run into your flames!" "Tales!!" Came the answering bark before the fearless fighter ran forward and took a leap, running right into her own attack. "What?!" "Roxanne!" "Is she crazy!?"
But, a moment later, the fox burst out of the fire, her head down and coat a little singed. Roxanne grinned. "You ready now?" Her eyes opened, revealing the red eyes were glowing and the fox raised her head, grinning with determination. "Nine!" "Then let's end this! Borva... FIRE SPIN!"
The fox took a breath, "NIIIINE... TAAAAAAAAAAALES!"A suddenly whirlwind of flames burst out like a tornado and straight for Tropius, the flames burning hot and large.
"Ah!" Tensai suddenly called in realization. "She... She forced Borva's special ability!" Ninetails' special ability, flash fire, was only activated when attacked by a fire-move; this in turn would increase the strength of the Pokemon's fire-type moves. By jumping into her own flames, Borva had spurred her own flash fire!

The gym leader's eyes widened, seeing how enhanced her opponent's pokemon suddenly was. No many people pulled out their special ability. Especially not a forced one. When the order was called an the attack was larger and strong than before, she knew she had to act quick. "Whirlwind!" Came the order over the flames, the pokemon barely able to hear it but it began to flap it's wings desperately, sending out a strong current of wind bit nothing seemed to damper the strong flames, circling around the wind itself and coming in even faster.
"T-troooo!!!!" And the large pokemon was quickly engulfed, the fire crackling through the fan leaves and burning the two rip fruit on it's chin. When the flames went out, everyone saw the very chard Tropius laying on the ground with it's butt up in the air and it's neck all stretched out. Swirls were in it's eyes and it gave a cough, a little black smoke cloud puffing out. "W-WHOOOOOOOOOOO!!! GO SIS!!" "YEA ROXY!" "YAY!!!!" "Tch.... ack!" Gunnar was nudged by his sister, who was actually.... clapping for barrettes!? He crossed his arms and rolled his eyes but his smile went unseen. She really didn't do such a bad job. She had a head on her shoulders, that was for sure. Now why couldn't she show him up? Goes to show you, maybe HE should be a gym leader.
"Well don't Roxanne." Gardenia smiled, calling back her last fallen pokemon and picked up a box that was sitting next to her. She walked out across the arena and presented the gift to the girl. The group watching all smiled when she opened it, receiving her first badge. They onlookers couldn't see it but Roxy sure did, seeing the shiny badge shaped like three trees of a forest, with the trunks whited out. The two bowed before Roxy rushed over to her family and friends, being welcomed back with a big group hug. The twins hugged the tightest, doing a little dorky bounce as they cheered. "Man! Dad is gonna be so proud of you! Borva was great!" Xel laughed, reaching down and petting the once golden fox.
As he did so and as she soaked up the attention from Xel, Tensai, Sanyi and Namine, Roxy was pulled into a tight hug by her girlfriend and given a pretty deep kiss. Which was totally "Hot~~ KCH!!" Gunnar grabbed his abdomen when his sister elbowed him hard, looking away as she obviously blushed. "So, who shall be next?" "I will!" Gunnar answered before Tensai could even pick his head up. The brunette pushed his way through the group, walking up to the gym leader and bowed. With a quick refreshment, the three pokemon just in battle were healed and once more, Tropius was called.
"Let's do this, Sal!"
Two more Forest Badges were handed out. One that fit well with the many others and another looking perfect as his second win. The leader bit them farewell, the whole group actually exhausted from the suspense, adrenalin and excitement. As they walked down the path leading to the exit, they had no idea that their night wasn't going to end here. "We made enough money to spend another night at a cheaper hotel and since those---" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!" Everyone froze when they heard the horrible scream from behind them and like a flash, Gunnar and Tensai rushed off, making the others quickly follow.
When they burst into the arena, all they could see was the announcer hunched over the gym leader. Without hesitation, the two boys continued to rush up to the scene and looked down to see the woman they just battled on the ground, motionless. "What happened!?" "I... I don't know... I thought I heard her say 'ghost' and then she screamed and fell over. I think she had a heart attack!"

Lights gleamed in the large windows. Blue, Red, Blue, Red, blue, red. The flash always the same, making the green-tinted windows light up and the plants within seem different and strange, alien almost. If he was younger, he might even of thought he was on a different planet just to get away from reality.
But he was too old to play pretend anymore. It wasn't like when he was young and could bring Charlie and Kali, the Pokemon, together, and pretend they were his parents and he was still at home or on the boat, having fun as he watched mommy preform and his dad do art. He wasn't that young anymore.
Orange eyes shut as he heard footsteps on the soft grass and looked up, seeing an officer approaching them. But he didn't want to talk to them. He reached out, gripping Roxel's hand tightly, just trying to find something to hold onto; something top keep his mind from panicking outright. Because he felt... so sickeningly guilty. A ghost scared her.
And he knew exactly which one. Why hadn't he of been more firm? Why hadn't he of ordered that damn... stupid... Pokemon AWAY! Did he realize what he did - did he even care?! He thought everything was a game! How did Jolteon think even one... one shred of that... stupid ghost was even WORTH loving.
His lips trembled as he held back tears, realizing just how violent and angry his thoughts were; but for once he didn't care.
There was a sigh from Roxel's other side, Sanyi rubbing Namine's hand. It actually helped, calming Namine because it kept him from his own distressing thoughts by concentrating on her. She had tried to help - even though she was a Pokemon expert, Nurse Joys also had to know some basics of human first aid as well because, at times, both Pokemon and trainer were injured or poisoned or something.
But there was nothing she could do this time. Nothing... any of them could really do.

A slender hand squeezed the other, bi-color eyes glancing over at the corner of his eye. Tensai was truly beating himself up for this and though he felt pretty bad too, it was really none of their fault. Ok... so it was totally uncle's Ven's fault for not controlling his wandering pokemon... but then again, Ventus had as much control over this pokemon that they did. Haunter was someone else's pokemon, someone who had passed away by the time his uncle could return him. In a sense, Haunter was the poster child of a wondering soul.
Namine sniffled, looking down at the grass in shame and letting warm tears fall down her cheek. She had tried to perform CPR but it was useless. The elder gym leader was gone. She had just been alive and well not even an hour ago. How quick a life could change... She looked up slowly, seeing the medics and police helping the workers of the gym carry their leader into the back of the ambulance that had pulled onto the arena. It was then that the announcer turned and looked their way, seeing them all standing around looking pretty off. So, she turned and was the first to approach them.
"You all look pretty guilty." She began firmly, looking at each and every one of the teenagers. "Was this one of your little tricks??" "No... but it's my fault this happened." Multicolor eyes quickly looked to where the voice came, all pointing to Gunnar who seemed pretty guilty himself. "How so?" The woman demanded. "We were training and that ghost appeared. He overheard me say that Gardenia was petrified of ghost and that.... it might be fun to give her a scare. I didn't truly mean it but I know that Haunter seemed to like the idea." "Haunter....?" "Well, it's also my fault too then." Everyone quickly looked at Bonnie who was holding Roxy close. "That Haunter is my dad's pokemon and I should have been more stern with him... to tell him that it was a really bad idea."
They all suddenly looked at Tensai who joined the blaming group, not wanting to hide under everyone, stating that it was his fault too for allowing him to carry on the idea. With three teenagers to blame, the woman sighed and to their surprise, actually smiled. "It's none of your fault. Though they are known to be very dangerous pokemon, some of them just like to prank, joke and scare humans. It's in their nature and not even a strong trainer can keep something from doing something natural or they would be no better than Teams. I'm sure that Haunter didn't know he would end up giving poor Gardenia a heart attack. No one here is to blame, not even that ghost. While that might not be reassuring to you all, I do have something that is."
Slowly, all guilty eyes looked at the woman in question. "All I can say is that Gardenia's last hours of life was spent doing what she loved to do best. She was able to battle three smart, young, intelligent and fine trainers in battle of wits and strength. She was able to see the beauty of grass pokemon, not including her own, and that there are great trainers still out there today. I know that even if she was scared to death, she was happy in her last moments. You gave her great battles and a lot of pride. You all won far and square and fought to the bitter end while showing compassion to your fallen friends. This is truly what the world of Pokemon is all about. She had a great life and participated in hundreds of battles. Giving away three badges in a row must have thrilled her."
Some feet kicked the dirt, their guilt lifting a little. "You should all be very proud and lucky to have each other." There was some silence before she spoke again. "I'm Quorra. I've worked here at the garden since I was very young and I will be taking Gardenia's place as gym leader." "Ut..." "Ohh...." "I just hope that I too will get to challenge great trainers like you."
BREAKING NEWS We just received a report that Gardenia of Eterna City's Gym, located in Sinnoh, has just been pronounced dead. Becoming a gym leader at quite a young age, Gardenia had been Eterna City's Gym Leader for over 50 years. Our intelligence state that her death was caused by a ghost pokemon who appeared after battling three trainers just an hour ago. Where this pokemon originated from and where it is now is still a myster---
"Hmmmph." The small tv was the only object omitting light in the small, dingy room. There was large chair with a nightstand next to it, a foot rest and the counter holding the box. In the chair sat a thin man, almost looking ridiculous in size compared to what he was sitting in. Perched on the top of the chair sat another figure, one that looked like it was wearing a witch hatch. "Another death due to a pokemon. How can people be so blind?" The figure sitting in the seat spoke, his tone dark, low and full of hate. "We don't have much time. The longer we wait, the number of deaths will increase..."

Black eyes peered around the chair, looking up at the human's face before little blue paws slowly backed up, hiding in the shadow the chair was casting. He laid down, whimpering gently.
Was this truly what his master would have wanted....?
There was a sigh, the group silent as they shuffled along, contemplative looks on most of their faces. Tensai tilted his head back and looking up at the sky, no longer blue but a mixture of reds, oranges and yellows. His lips tilted up in a small smile. "...What is it?" "Huh?" He glanced at Roxanne who was walking near him. "Hm... nothing I guess..." Orange eyes turned to face the similarly colored sky, "It's just... my dad. He created a painting once of the sunset. Titled it Future. I didn't really understand it, when he explained it. All I understood was the day ends when the sun sets - how was that anything to do with the future?" "...And now?" "...Maybe I get it now." He murmured gently, unaware he had the attention of everyone, "It doesn't end... it's just getting ready for the new one. At night... it's when we most often dream. We hope for a better tomorrow that's sure to come... and in the day, we'll strive for that hope." Roxy stared at him for a moment before giving a soft chuckle. How could Tensai make even the worst of situations seem better so easily? "I suppose you're right." They walked in silence for a few more minutes, the young boy's words turning in their minds, until Namine brought up the fact that Kadaj and Yazoo were still waiting for them.
....They had totally forgotten about them!
Automatic doors whirred open as the group that hurried in, seven pairs of eyes scouting the lobby intensely for the familiar heads of silver-hair. It only took moments for them to realize they were gone. "Where'd they go?!" Lucina said, a little short-tempered. "Maybe we shouldn't of left them in the lobby..." Sanyi observed. "The manager here probably kicked them out." After all, nothing says business like a sickly teenager in too-small clothes.
No one noticed that warm, reddish brown eyes were peering at them from behind her computer, seeming contemplative. "The tallest one is a brunette and always seems to be in a bad mood. I'm sure if they start getting riled that the nurse will try to calm them down." Just as she remembered those words, it's like they came true before her very eyes, seeing how one brunette became agitated and started yelling about one thing of another - and, as if on cue, the kindest-looking female of the group tried to be the voice of reason. Her lips turned up in a smile. It's nice to see you've made friends.
"Excuse me?" They all paused, hearing the voice and turned their heads. Lucina practically stepped on Gunnar's toes when he started to drool. The woman before them was tall, her long black hair held back some in what might have been a ponytail, except it only bound the tail end of her hair, making it flip out like a wailord's tail. But that didn't quite get as much notice as to her... a-HEM - assets... "I couldn't help but overhear... you wouldn't happen to be looking for Kadaj and Yazoo, would you?"
Green eyes opened when they heard a lock being undone, the silverette sitting up on the bed when it was opened. "Whooooa!" Came a predictable cry from the always excitable duo - Tensai and Roxel, if he was remembering names correctly. "What is this place?" Another, Lucina he recalled, asked. "Just a storage area. You didn't think all those beds and extra towels came from thin air did you?" There was a slight laughter in her voice but it only made his eyes narrow more. He swung his legs over the side of the bed, perching there. "Hey." He called. Eyes turned, spotting the silverette up high on a stack of beds. He seemed almost like a cat, who looked for and found the tallest available point in the room to survey the room from. Of course, since that only amounted to about seven bed's worth, he wasn't really THAT high.
