The Chasers: Darkness' Fold

Riku would of continued being in a state of shock at his reflection if it wasn't got the horrible pain in his heart. It felt like someone had stabbed him and left he knife there.
He leaned over the sink, holding his chest. "Fuck..." He winced. His body slowly arose goosebumps as the bitter cold wrapped around him.

The only time he was this cold was when he went to Delshad during the winter where there was SNOW on the ground... or the first time he felt the Darkness...

"RIKU! RIKU! IT'S SNOWING!!!"
The aquamarine eyes widened as he heard the panicked voice. He winced as he moved, his body stiff from the coldness and his heart ache.
He pushed himself away, grabbing a towel and wrapping it around him for some sort of warmth.

He walked back into the room, seeing his husband at the window.
"S-snowing?" He chattered out as she slowly started to move to Sora's side.
He looked out, not believing it himself.
It... did look like snow...

"How can it be...?"

Sora breathed in and out hard as Riku came up to his side, seeing his breath cloud in front of him. He trembled all over, the pain in his heart getting worse and worse by the second. He could hear it drumming in his ears. His knees shook.

Ultima snapped into his hands, glowing around him and Riku in a soft light and pushing back the invisible force that was threatening to overwelm them both. The pain in his heart eased some, enough so he could breathe easily again.

He looked down at Ultima, fear coursing through him in the silence... then he steeled his courage and rasied determined eyes up to Riku. "We've got to get dressed."

Something bad was out there - was around them, he could no longer ignore the signs. He could hear Invidia barking loudly at their door - as if she could sense it too.

Suddenly his eyes widened in rememberance. "S-Shit Tensai!"

Riku shivered, his breath too forming in front of him. He looked down slowly when Ultima appeared, it's strength reacting off Riku, making Twilight Requiem appear. It too made his breathing settle and looked down at Sora, nodding.

He was guessing... Sora couldn't see what he saw in the mirror.

He quickly pulled on some boxers, the jeans he wore the day before and a button up shirt. He didn't bother to button it.
Heat ran up Riku's arm from the keyblade, making the cold seem to disappear. He still felt a chill though... and his heart still hurt terribly.

He gasped as he heard Vi... and then Sora.
"Tensai!" His eyes widened. He suddenly dashed from the room and rushed down the stairs.
The carbuncle was at the door, barking at it as if someone was behind it.

The silverette reached out, opening the door.... ready to face whatever was in front of it.... but...
there was nothing.

More white pieces came from the sky as Riku slowly stepped from the house.
He slowly walked out more and looked up at the sky.
Black clouds whirled together, all meeting at one place like a vertex.

But suddenly something ran down him as he heard the crying of a child.
He looked behind him at the beach a half mile away.
Dark beings with yellow eyes were coming out of the black sea... and on the beach was a helpless child.
His.... helpless child.
"TENSAI!"

Angry ran down him as he heard Sora rush down the stairs and shot off towards the beach. If one of those things dark touch his son... god help them.

[Reno]

Sora also got dressed quickly as Riku did, watching his lover take off. He cursed, buttoning his pants and throwing on a t-shirt. He skipped the shoes - no amount of frostbite could compare to losing his son. From ehre... he could even hear him crying.

Vi gave another bark as the door was snapped open and her second master ran out. She rushed out with him but yelped in panic as he dashed down to the beach.

Moments later her brunete owner had rushed out as well, his bare toes curling in the white ice coating the ground. He watched his lover run off. "RIKU!" He cried, feeling the unnatural anger coming from his lover. Where was he going?!?! Tensai was the OTHER way.

He stared blankly as the beasts rose from the sea and his heart nearly stopped. Why? Why was this happening again? He looked towards the sea that his husband was charging for before he spun on his heels, running towards Kairi's house.

Out over the sea, hovering of the water like it was concrete, was a figure. A small hand rose, fingers flexing.

Spikes of Darkness suddenly crashed into the beach and up the steps of the Holani's house. Sora gave a cry of panic, dropping to the ground and covering his head. The sound of spike stabbing into wood and glass shattering met his ears. The glass of the window fell over him. When it seemed to be over, he rasied his head slowly, eyes widened in horror at the sight of the of their house and the spike only bare inches above him.

Vi whimpered, lowering on her stomach slowly climbed her way out of it. The brunette took a deep breath and slowly crawled from underneath it all, standing on shaky legs.

Riku continued to rushed down to the beach, hearing the crying of his son. The crying was more haunting though as his bare feet hit the cold ground under him. He quickly dodged the large shards coming down to him, slashing them away as they crashed into the sand next to him.

"TENSAI!" He called again before another shard smashed down, making him stumble and fall into the ice crystals that were once sand. He winced, hearing a loud crash and glass shatter in the far distance.
Why... why now?
He slowly pushed himself up, heading towards the child once more.

When he got close, he watched the Heatless with an evil eye.
"Tensai... slowly walk back to me ok..."
The child didn't move though... but started to laugh.
He looked back at Riku and the silverette was set back, seeing the baby's eyes were a Heartless yellow.

"Ten---"
Hehehehehehehe....

Riku looked back, blinking as he saw an interesting sight.

A figure stood on the ice, the yellow eyes glowing behind pink hair. Atop her head was what seemed to be a hat, looking like the tops of Neoshadows. She wore what seemed to be a dress that was fitted at the waist but went wide down to her knees. The sleeved were long and large as well, also going down to her knees and covering her hands. Purple and black strips looped around her legs like stockings and a large, red Heartless sign was glowing on her back.
She looked as if she could of been 12.

Riku growled as he held up his keyblade, noticing that the child had disappeared.
For such a childish looking Heartless, the power of Darkness in her was overwhelming.

He blinked as he felt another riff of power coming from behind him, making him glance back. Another Heartless was hovering over the ocean, his gaze more on his husband. He growled more and looked back at the girl in front of him.
"What's this all about!?"

The girl just tilted her head as if she was really thinking about it. Her shoulders shrugged before she pointed at him.

You cost the Darkness ton
You brought the Darkness none.
From the Darkness you fled
Now the Darkness wants you dead.

Sora looked back at his house one more time before slowly looking across the water where the heartless all seemed to be gathering. And atop it he saw a figure.

Of a KID. He looked no older than maybe eleven or twleve... but he could feel all the darkness surronding him.

The boy was walking forward, a malicious smile on his face, wisps of darkness wafting from his body. His eyes were a bright yellow - typical of a heartless. His hair was bright red and pulled into a pony tail that shot up slightly before curling back and curling around itself - yet it was all unnatural sharo angle and reminded Sora of the hats atop the wizard heartless he had fought back when he was 13.
The boy's shirt was a dark blue but the collar was open and large and jagged like a Reqium's design - and a heartless symbol was on his chest. He wore long, fingerless gloves with blue and black stripes that went up almost his entire arms. His pants were baggy and black and a red scarf had been tied around the waist, the tails hanging over to the side.

Sora grit his teeth pointing the keyblade at the boy. From the corner of his eye, he could see a similarly dressed girl nearby his lover. They just screamed twins. "What do you want?!" He cried.

You keyblader of light
You brought darkness much blight
You with the name of 'sky'
It is your turn to die

Sora shuddered as the words seemed to waft into his head and he scowled in disgust. "I don't think so." He snapped.
Invidia rushed to his side, getting down on her haunches and hissing at the boy.

Hahahaha...
I see all the courage you own
Never fear you won't die alone

The brunette's eyes went wide. "Vi..." He ordered suddenly. The carbuncle at his feet glanced up. "Hurry go to Kairi's. Protect Tensai." She whined, afraid to leave. "Now! Please Invidia..."

The creature barked in understanding and she turned rushing towards the other house. She jumped into an open window with easy, and rushed up the stairs of the house, sniffing out the black-haired boy.

Sora took a deep breath and walked forward, jumping from the uprasied foundation his and Riku's house had been built on to the snowy beach below.

Up above the world of Destiny, a familiar airship hovered.
Blue eyes watched the monitor, frowning as he read the report.
The Darkness rating was over the limit. The computer had never detected so much... not even in World's End.

And because of this, their portal to get below wouldn't work.

"Shit..." He walked away from the computers and looked out the window, seeing the whole world of Destiny being engulfed by Darkness... with an odd appearance of ice.
Why did every fucking bad guy have to use fucking ICE!?


Riku shivered as he heard the voice run through his head. He knew it was coming from her... a young girls voice... but her mouth didn't move at all.

He shook it off and growled, suddenly rushing towards her. He slashed out... but hit nothing. She was gone.
You'll never be able to feel
If you go after things that aren't real.
Aquamarine eyes widened, looking behind him to see the girl standing in front of the ocean of Shadows.

Hehehehehehehehe...

"Damnit! I don't have time to play your games!" He quickly rushed after he once more, but this time his blade hit another. Yellow eyes looked up at him as they got into a lock. He pushed down harder against her sword.... but it wouldn't budge.
Where is all this power coming from?

As they glared at each other, wisps of darkness radiated off her into the sky and connecting to the black clouds above.

All day you did ignore
All night you did but snore.
The morrow brings a new 'Light'
Proclaiming your last fight.
When it is our turn to depart
It will be you who will have no heart.

Terra cursed snatching up a potion or two and throwing it in his hip back, tying it tightly before rushing from the room and up into the pilot's lougne. He could hear Ven swearing. They couldn't use their portal system - that was what was getting to them both.

Even from up hear... he could taste all that darkness. His eyes were brightening to yellow, and the wolf inside was snarling. He pushed them aside for now.

"We'll just have to jump out!" Terra said standing in the thershold. "Lower us down as much as you can!"

He could hear the clock ticking, each second passing more fatal then the last. They needed to hurry - and they needed to hurry NOW.


Sora heard Riku beside him beginning to fight and he scowled, lifting his blade. "THUNDER!"

The boy rasied his hand, and as the lightning struck down it seemed to collide with a black barrier, bouncing off harmlessly.

Each attempt that you bravely try will fail
your life is reaching the end of the trail

the voice sounded almost sing-song now. "Shut up!" Sora snapped, running down the stretch of beach. Ultima glowed in his hands and with a cry he Charged forward.

The boy twisted his hand a length of curling darkness appearing in his hand. He rasied it up, the form following like a snake then struck it down with a crack. A whip.

Sora dodge-rolled just in time, the heavy whip cracking into the sand electricity crackling in it's wake.

Your death was nearly found
with means of this profound
let us relive your past
before you breathe your last

Ven looked back, seeing Terra standing there. His heart.. .or whatever was there, cried out, his own eyes a shade of yellow. He looked back down at the world and frowned before rushing to the controls.

The ship groaned as it started to move quickly down to the world.
Ven had the power of wind... jumping down wouldn't be too bad for him. As for Terra... he would have to bring him down as well.

Sigurd moved down towards the world of Darkness, slowly skimming the black clouds... even this far up. Why hadn't anyone called? What was going on down there!?


Riku growled more, getting tired of this rhyming... and how bluntly she claimed to take his life.
She was obvious too young to know how many times he escaped death.

She suddenly jumped back, making the silverette rush after her. She skipped quickly to the ocean of Shadows and when she got to a good enough distance, turned back.
As Riku grew closer, more Heartless formed around him.
Black claws reached out, gripping onto his legs so tight he couldn't move anymore.

He pulled and yanked, feeling the coldness around him once more. His keyblade started to glow around the edges, the power growing stronger in his hand.
You wield the keyblade with success
A true weapon of the Darkness.

Riku growled more as the Heartless held tighter, their black claws digging into his skin. Blood ran down his legs as black marks curled around the wounds.
The girl tilted her head again and like the wisps coming from her back, she suddenly disappeared into them.

Born as a son to her
You never knew the likes of your father.
He is something of the past
That you will finally meet at last.

Riku's eyes widened as the ocean of heartless started to shift and turn, growing bigger and moving as a large mass up towards the sky. His silver hair whipped in his face as a cold blast of wind came from behind him, making the Darkness blow away from the mass.

What was revealed... was frightening.

"Mommy?"
A little boy walked up to where his mother sat at the new wooden table.
"Yes Riku?"
"Where's daddy?" He asked as his big aqua eyes looked up at her. The woman blinked, smiling softly. "What do you mean?"
"Sora has a daddy... why not me? Does he not love me?"
The woman frowned slightly, shaking her head. "No honey... it's not like that at all. You see.... your... daddy changed before you were born."
"So you didn't like him anymore?"
"No, no. I love your father... but his heart wasn't with him anymore."
The boy looked confused and she laughed.
"Oh... let's just say he couldn't fit into the house anymore."
The little boy giggled. "That's silly mommy!"

He watched the form clear off in horror... seeing something horribly familiar.
The creature was huge with large yellow eyes. Its hair looked like Medusa in the way it twist and curled. Odd wings sprouted from its back as his large claws sprawled out.
What was distinct... was the large heart-shaped hole in its stomach.

Darkside.

"You father fell into the Darkness before you were born, that's why the Darkness is drawn to you. You were born with Darkness in you."
"Do you... know what happened to him?
"Probably what happens to all those who fall into Darkness... he probably became a Heartless."

Before he could notice, huge claws whooshed down and swiped the keyblade from his silverette son, almost taking his arm off.
Rkku could only watch as the massive claws shattered the keyblade, making it shatter into ice pieces.
"NOOOOO!!"
He tensed, his body becoming weak from the loss of ownership and beaten down by the cold.

You have lost your brawn
Now that the keyblade is gone.
At once comes the start
To the end of your heart.

The clouds suddenly parted before a black beam was shot down. It was highlighted in a pink that matched the Heartless's hair as it curled around behind the Darkside. It shot straight through them, wiping out all the Shadows that it flew over, sucking their Dakrness into it.
The beam passed right through the heart shaped hole of the Darkside, making it explode into ice crystals.

The beam shit straight towards Riku, the pink energy wisping off, making it smaller in size.
Aquamarine eyes widened as he could feel it.

The shatter of his inner world.

The beam suddenly hit, going right through the man's chest. A clean hole... in the shape of a heart.... was blasted out of him. His body was jerked as time seemed to stop. Blood and parts of his organs blew out from his back as the beam turned into ice crystals.

Dark eyes rolled back into his head as blood poured from his mouth. Blood splattered out feet behind him, spraying the ice and forming the shape of a Heartless symbol.

The Shadows that made up the ocean were gone, their hearts heading to Kingdom Hearts. No longer were they keeping Riku captive.

Slowly his body fell down, the tips of his silver hair red from his own blood.
Icy, shallow water ripped as the dead body fell into it. The liquid slowly passed through the heart shape hole in his body, washing away all the blood. The twilight necklace was stuck on the point of his hole, rippling in the water.

Bright aquamarine eyes looked out, slowly becoming lifeless. The last thing they saw... was a golden crown drifting pass.

[Reno]

Sora scowled looking at the sparking whip warily. What... what could he do? He couldn't get physically close and the darkness around him was nearly suffocating him!

Think Sora think!

Crack!

The whip came down again. Sora jumped in the air and soared down the beach, the weapon of pure darkness barely missing him.

He was STILL the keyblade master! He would not... be beaten so easily! The boy's head tilted in interest.

Sora dropped down on the beach, fingers sweeping down the length of his keyblade. In the wake of his hands pass, the keyblade started to glow a brillant white. Brillant wings made of pure silver light appeared on his back and the golden glow of a halo appeared over his head.

"Angel's light: HOLY!!" Sora cried, slashing his keyblade outwards. A wave of powerful light followed, scorching all darkness in it's path and engulfing the boy in the water. As the light started to dim, Sora could see the beautiful sands of Destiny once more, and the stunning aquamarine of the ocean...

You take the appearance of what you will soon become
Now soldier of light, to the darkness you will succumb!

Blue eyes went wide as a shot of darkness appeared from the light and wrapped around his Keyblade and arm yanking them both up high, and Sora's feet left the ground. The brunette cried out as a shock of darkness rushed through him.

He started to kick his legs when darkness slowly started to wrap around them as well all the way up to his waist, leaving him completely immobile. The wings behind him shattered into nothingness.

Your heart, the strongest force
One lost with great remorse
One whose power came from friends
Watch your life as it trancends

He looked up in horror as the boy climbed from the water, walking towards him. In the background he watched as a darkside appeared and he heard his husband yelling in fear. He trembled in his own and started to struggle, but his movements were little to nothing.

The boy rasied his hand, a second weapon appearing. It was long and spear-like yet it had two wing-like blades at either end. He recognized it well. It was Ansem's sword...

This is where your life will halt
In this final, bloody assult
Now light say your last farewell
And open your arms to hell!

Sora watched the boy bring his arm back, and suddenly something strange happened. He became completely calm. He stopped struggling, knowing he could not escape the inevitable.

In the back of his mind he could hear Riku's final scream...

He looked the heartless boy straight in the eyes and smiled for the last time. "You may kill our life, but never our memory or our love. Our spirit is with them, now and forever - and soon they will make sure you join us in hell."

The boy tilted his head then his eyes narrowed and his arm shot forward. Sora gave a sharp cry his blue eyes widening even more as the sharp point of the sword plunged straight through his heart.

Sora's eyes opened in confusion and he looked around his inner world. In the distance he could see Anti being swallowed in the thick darkness climbing across the land. The red trees were rotting, the blue grass dying, the golden lake diritied with blackness...

He looked up slowly, seeing the silver clouds had all disappated - and the purple sky was slowly starting to crack. He felt his heart stretching more and more - and suddenly realized what it was. All the bonds he had made as a keyblader - and as a friend... they were stretching out. He was losing them.

"Goodbye... everyone." He whispered, a tear running down his face. The bonds finally broke, sending his final message to them.

Above him the sky shattered and turned white, flecks of glass from his Awakening window falling down onto the damged world. Funny... they reminded him of falling stars...

His heart collasped and the darkness swallowed him.

The boy looked at the brunette keyblader as he slumped on the blade, the blue eyes still open and slowly glazing over. Dim with death. Blood was coloring the sand and snow underneath them.
He scoffed in disgust and slowly placed his second hand on the blade and yanked the man's body from the darkness that held him. He tossed him and the other's body came off easily.

Sora flew a little before smacking into the snow littered earth, his crown necklace slipping and landing in the dirtied sand below. He was only inches away from Riku's sprawled form. They were at such an angle... that both of them seemed to be staring at one another. But neither... would ever see again.

The boy walked over to the other.

Hahahaha
Though our murderous deed is done
our reign has only just begun.

"Come on Ven!" Terra cried to the blonde, trying to urge him to go faster. They could jump into the fucking ocean for all he cared! They needed to get there now though!
The brunette stumbled suddenly, catching himself against the wall as he felt... something in his heart snap.
Goodbye... everyone
His golden eyes went wide. No... NO!
They were too late.

Invidia whimpered laying down on her stomach and suddenly she started to cry loudly. Her masters - her masters were gone.
In the bed nearby, Tensai looked towards the window, his orange eyes slowly starting to water. He might of been young, but he wasn't too young that he didn't understand the sudden pains in his heart. "DAAAAAAAADDY!!!!!!"


Goodbye... everyone
Bryna's eyes snapped open and she sat up. She slowly covered her mouth as tears started to rush down her face. "Sora..." Her voice muffled out. She stood slowly in only her nightwear and rushed from the room. She was old, very old, but she was not yet too old that she couldn't reach her front door fast enough. But as she opened the door and stepped out in the frigid air she knew it was already too late. "SORA!!!!!"


"Nnn...." Roxas groaned softly, his legs twisted in the sheets as he turned his head. His fingers clutched onto the sheets as he tried to breathe, his fever seeming to sky rocket. "Aaaah...." He cried out weakly, body trembling with agony. "A-Ax...el...."

Roxas stood up in the grayness looking around with wide eyes. What was... what was happening? The water up in the light was starting to sizzle and burn away, the rays climbing down and brighting his 'safe' area. He looked down and gasped in horror as the darkness began to creep up the sides into the area as well. It was surronding him.

Roxas gasped sharply backing away as a ray of light smacked into the ground near his feet, scorching it instantly. Behind him, he heard the darkness cutting through the ground creating scars. Where had all the water gone?

He fell to his knees, having no where safe to go and clutched his head, shutting his eyes tightly. "Axel!!"

'Goodbye... everyone'

His eyes snapped open and he looked up. The light and darkness had halted - as if the words held some sort of power over them. "S-Sora?" What did he mean... goodbye?! "SORA!!"

'I'm the king of the hill!' The light shimmered and started to back away.
'Mommy, where's daddy?' The darkness shied away.

What... was happening?

'Hello there, I'm Sora, what's your name?'
'Um... R-Riku.'

'Mommy... mommy said I can't have any imaginary friends anymore.'
'You don't need imaginary friends Sora, you have me!'

'Did you come from another world Kairi?'
'You have to tell us everything about it!'

'Riku what do you mean get off?'
'I mean let's leave this place! let's build a raft! Me, you and Kairi! We can find her old home and see other worlds!'

'It said... I'm the one who will open the door... what does that mean?'
'We may never see our parents again, but that's okay. I'm not afraid of the darkness!'

'Kairi?! RIKU?!'
'Kaaaaairi? Soooora?!'

'No we have to go there. Riku or Kairi could be there!'
'And if I take this power... it will help me find my friends?'

'The keyblades power is with it's rightful master'
'I don't need the keyblade - the only power I need is my heart!'

"Sora... I can hear you...'

'You're back Ri... WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG?! I thought you were gone forever'

Roxas felt tears rushing down his face. They were echoes. Echoes of Sora and Riku. He was seeing some of their most precious memories - the ones held lovingly in both their hearts...

The light and darkness had calmed, both sides swirling around him evenly - balance once again restored. Slowly, a star seemed to fall from the light and Roxas looked up seeing it fall. He cupped his hands out and caught it, feeling pwoer thrum through him.

In his hands a little symbol of Mickey Mouse appeared on a keychain. The Kingdom Key. The key of the chosen one.

He...was the new master?

'I love you Riku... Riku... Riku...'

'I love you Sora... Sora... Sora...'

Roxas' eyes snapped open and he sat up in the king-sized bed, looking around on horror. In his hand, clutching tight, the the keychain he had been given. And in his heart... he no longer felt Sora or Riku.
"SOOORA! RIIIKU!" He screamed out to the room.

"I'm moving is as fucking fast as I can!" The blonde called out as he pushed the controls down as far as they could go.
Silgurd moved through the black clouds gracefully, not knowing that it was Darkness itself.
"I can't go down any more! If we bury her, we might put the keyblades at ri---"

His eyes yellow eyes widened suddenly as he heard something shatter.
Two things actually...
Goodbye... everyone.
It was Sora's voice...

Transcendent Oath appeared in his hands as he suddenly left the controls. It automatically straighted out, making the ship stop.
He rushed pass Terra to the opening and.... jumped out of the ship.
"NOOOOOOOOO!!"
He cried as his body shot down, a blast of wind pushing him down fast.

The twins disappeared and reappeared in the clouds where they had been all night collecting the Darkness.
The girl looked at the boy and smiled, her sharp teeth gleaming.
Hehehehehehehe....

A strong gust of wing circled around an area on the beach, making the ice fly off the sand.
Black boots handed hard, more wind blowing the ice away.

The pink haired Heartless looked down from the clouds and blinked, seeing the blonde haired man on the beach, a bright keyblade in his hand.
Not just yet my dear brother
It seems like we have another!
She pointed down at the man, her yellow eyes glowing. She looked back at the red head then up above.
For the man and child who is below
A peace of death I do owe.
An Atterian blood is up ahead
Take the honor of his last thread.

She winked at the boy and suddenly skipped quickly across the Darkness.


The blonde panted and slowly rose, his long jacket flowing from under him. He slowly looked at the beach... seeing a horrid view.
"SORA!!"
He dashed over, not minding the ice and the freezing air.
His black boots splashed in water as he came to his twin's side and knelt down. He pulled the body up and wrapped his arms around him.
"SORA! SORA WAKE UP!"

Hehehehehehehehe....

Suddenly the world froze completely.
The water stopped moving, the wind no more.
His eyes widened.... as he heard something.

A crisp... echoing cry... of a child.

Tensai.

He looked up, seeing wisps of Darkness heading towards the home next to the familiar shattered one.
He suddenly dropped Sora and sprang to his feet, racing across the ice.

Now this seems like a lot of fun

As I raise up this gun

As Ven ran across the ice, the clouds parted and a horrid noise of gun shots rained down behind him.
Small balls of Darkness in the shape of bullets rained down after the blonde, their shell a hue of pink.

A few hit the blonde's legs, making him wince as blood ran down them and the Darkness seeped into his skin. He ran down the boardwalk of the district, people frozen as they seemed to be coming from their homes to see what was the matter.

He raced pass them, larger balls falling down and taking out chunks of the wood. He raced up the stairs, not quick enough to dodge more bullets that hit his arm.
He was pushed onto the door from pain, making it bust in and fell to the floor.
He groaned as he got back to his feet and stopped at the horrible sight in front of him.

Tidus and Kairi were frozen in a state of shock... but they were covered in a black ice, black fumes slowly seeming off their bodies. It was like the burning ice that Master Xehanort had created on the volcano.

It was just an illusion, mocking Ven's fear.

A cry of the child hit him again, the world becoming nothing but shades of grey. He ran up the stairs, crying out as a huge ball came flying through the house, wiping out half the stair case. He jumped over the gap and rushed to where the noise was coming from.

He stumbled into a room with a bed and crib. A carbuncle was frozen in time near the crib but the black haired baby was not.
"TENSAI!"
He rushed to the crib and pulled out the toddler, still crying for his fathers.
The minute he pulled the child from the crib, another blast came from above, pushing the man onto the floor as he held the boy close to his chest. The crib was broken into a million pieces and a huge hole exposed them to the Darkness.

He curved over the child who was still crying and felt it. The bullets. They rained down once more, shoving themselves into Ven's back. He couldn't call the wind to help... for nothing on this world moved but them.
More and more bullets shot down, up rooting the wooden floor and splatting blood on the walls.

Yellow eyes looked out, seeing a frozen girl hiding under her bed. He panted, blood pooling from his mouth as his body became more and more weak. The sound of Tensai crying was slowly muting out as more bullets pushed through his flesh.
Slowly the man lowered himself, cradling the child more as his body became weaker.

More blood seeped from his mouth as his head leaned on the wooden floor. All he cared about was protecting his nephew... and that was all he could hear until he couldn't hear anymore...


"SOOORA! RIIIKU!"
Axel's eyes widened as he heard a scream from the other room.
Goodbye... everyone.
He blinked again, his hand going to his heart. Roxel suddenly started to tear up and hid under his blanket.
"No, no, no!"
Xio whimpered as he laid down close to the child in hiding, looking up at his master.

Axel quickly got up and hurried to the next room. He stopped at the door frame and looked into the dark room, seeing Roxas fully awake... and glowing.
"Rox...." He looked over, seeing a familiar keychain. The Kingdom Key.

He slowly walked in, his green eyes not leaving the keychain. When he though of that symbol, he thought of Sora... but... he could only see Roxas...
What was happening....?

The wolf placed a hand against his heart, trying to reject the feeling that was there. Sora was gone... and if Sora was gone that menat Riku was too. It just... it just couldn't be-

Terra blinked as Ven ran past him. "Ven! Ven wait!!" The blonde however did not heed his words. Rather he just kept running - and jumped FROM the ship. Shit did he ever listen?!

"Fuck!" He snapped furiously as he ran towards the door pausing at the edge of it and looking down. He couldn't see through the purple and black and blue clouds to know what was under him. Ven was lucky, he could fly. Terra could not. If there was water well he'd be okay - it it was land... well...

It might hurt... a lot. And he unlike Ven actually had a life - two lives - to worry about!

Well Destiny was mostly water and only had islands for land so hypothetically speaking his chances of hitting water were much much better then hitting land. "Fuck..." He took a deep breath... and stepped out of the ship.


The boy watched his twin skip off tilting his head and grinning maliciously.

He turned his head up towards wear he could feel the one his sister indicated.

What a rare and lucky prey!

Please let me fall in water... please... Terra thought to himself as he fell. The dark clouds passed him quickly - but they seemed to have no end in sight. The clouds around him were cloud and full of darkness - he could taste it. He started to twist his body around, trying to remember the things Ventus had taught him from their many runs around the hot air balloons. He would eventually have to come out of them and HIT something right?

...Right?

What the...? He snarled.

Suddenly his clothes stopped flapping - as if the wind itself had been halted. The clouds of darkness stopped shifting. It was as if time itself had stopped. He had only witnessed such a thing once before - it was a power Riku used.

For a moment a small light of hope was rekindled in his heart. Did that mean Riku was alive? Was there still hope for the two islanders that had become his friends?

Suddenly, Terra found the land. Yet it wasn't the land. He smacked into the clouds. His body hadn't been prepared for the abrupt end of free-falling - and it was only luck that he had been on his back at the time. It was still hard enough to steal his breath away and left him trembling in pain. He had smacked the back of his head pretty good too so he blinked a few times trying to bring his vision back.

An Atterian beast

Terra shook his head, coughing to bring his breath back more forcefully. He slowly got to his feet, stumbling a little as the blood rushed to his head. He reached back and cursed, feeling blood matting down his brown hair. Well Ven wasn;t the only one with brain damage now.

Quicksand snapped into his hand suddenly and he spun on his heels, snarling as he saw something shifting in the immobile clouds. Suddenly the figure moved, spreading it's limbs and the clouds of darkness all shoved out of the way, creating a dome around them and revealing to Terra who he was facing.

A... boy?

"Oh you've got to be fucking kidding." Yet Terra knew it was no joke. He could feel the pure darkness inside the boy - it was a terrifying and unreal amount. Not even his father or Xehanort had controlled that much...

He... would be a wonderful meal.

Shut up and back off.

As if the boy could hear his conversation, he started to taunt.

Go ahead and take a taste
Power is nothing to waste

"Shut up!" Terra snapped at him too, not as unnerved by the fact that the boys mouth didn't move as maybe Riku or Sora had been. the wolf's mouth never moved either when they spoke. The power to talk within another's mind was a dangerous and dark one. "What have you done?! Where are Sora and Riku!?"

Me and my sister only had fun
We were not about to be undone
Sky and land - they have bled
Your friends they are quite dead

Terra was about to bark something at the other when he suddenly felt a pain in his legs. He gave a sudden cry falling to his knees. Only seconds later, he felt more in his arm, and he grit his teeth, knowing it was Ven. "Fuck!"

He looked up, yellow eyes bright with fury and pain - but the boy was not moving. Terra suddenly grabbed up Quicksand, and rushed forward, taking advantage of the pause. He came within bare inches of the unflinching boy, raising his keyblade high-

The last round of pain however had him doubling over with a cry - this pain was almost ceaseless as it rained like fire over his back.

Terra felt something within him snap. He felt the wolf trying to take over - his teeth were sharpening and his fingernails gaining length. He dug his claws into the nonexistent ground and with a snarl as his mate's pain continued to been afflicted on him. Terra could not fight without land - but the wolf could fight with the darkness.

He would have to be quick however.

What is it that you pl- AIE!

Terra gave a bitter laugh, looking up at the boy as his own darkness started to curl around him. "What's wrong? No more rhymes for me?" He gathered up the ends of the curling darkness like he would a length of rope or chains and stood.

"That's too bad - I was really getting to LIKE IT!" He stomped his foot down and the 'land' holding them up suddenly shattered and gravity sent them both free-falling through the clouds. The rope seemed to lengthen on it's own and Terra, more experienced with the workings of the sky then a land user should be, twisted around semi-gracefully, spinning the boy heartless along with him. He used the darkness around him as his wings' and concentrated it around his body to help shoot him off to the left.

His wolf senses, much more sensitive to all things dark, easily picked up the scent of the other - the girl who the boy had spoken of. He continued on his path - and soon saw her shooting down towards something, Ven no doubt, and with a powerful yank threw the boy in his grasp. The boy and girl collided - and the darkness wrapped around her too.

Terra curled his legs and turned his body so he was pointed straight down and shot downwards like a rocket, the dark rope giving a twang and giving the two no choice but to follow. The ground came up incredibly quick and suddenly he spun, throwing both of them smacking into Sora and Riku's broken house.

He landed on the ground smoothly, snarling a bit as he smelt blood all around. In the corner of his eye he caught a glint of silver but he didn't dare look, knowing who it was. And his ears easily picked up the cries of a crying child - Tensai. He stood on the beach indecisvely, before he rushed towards Tidus and Kairi's house. "VEN!!! TENSAI!!!"


The little boy cried as the noise died down, curling his fists into the shirt of his savoir, sobbing. "Uncle Wen! Uncle Wen!!" Blood was curling around Ven's body and soaking the ground around him, slipping and pooling around the baby.


Roxas brought his knees up to his chest just as Axel rushed into the room. He ehard the red-heads call and slowly he turned his head towards him, whispering. "They're gone Axel. Riku... and Sora... they're gone forever... and this-" He held up the chain. "I'm the new... the new..." He scowled suddenly, hate passing over his features. "Damn it!!" He screamed, throwing the keychain across the room where it smacked into the wall and landed on the carpet.

To his horror, however, it shimmered and reappeared in his hand. It was not going to go away - it would never go away. "No... no, no, no..." He buried his head in his hands, shaking all over, trying hard to stop himself from crying. His fingers curled into his blonde hair, tugging mercilessly at it trying to drown out the pain in his heart.

The black bullet like darkness continued to shoot out from her long sleeves, a gleam in her eyes as she watched from way above. She saw the blonde's body start to fail, her toothy smile growing more.

How so your body becomes frail

The girl with pink hair suddenly was hit by another force. Her brother. They flew into the air and landed in the clouds. She blinked as the Darkness of another power wrapped around her and suddenly.... brought her and her brother flying.

A loud crash sent more wood flying into the dark ocean, dust and splinters flying as well.
They went through both roof and second floor, landing in the living room.
Slowly the Darkness started to unravel from them and wisped away, but not before a sleeve wrapped around it and held it tight.

More board shifted as the bodies buried under it got out. Yellow eyes peered down at the Darkness, a grin of razor fangs growing.
That was fun my dear brother
I would enjoy another.
But before we have more fun
Let us eat this new Darkness one by one.

She held out the strand to her brother as she started to push some into her mouth... as if really eating it.
What a beautiful taste the Atterians hold
It's almost like we found gold.
Though quick we must eat it now
For with the three with live we cannot all--

"That is enough."
Her eyes widened as she heard a voice, slowly looking behind her. Her yellow eyes narrowed as she saw the man standing there, much taller than her or her brother.
"Haven't you caused enough damage?" A long grey beard moved as he talked.

The girl growled as she stood close to her brother, watching the man.
"Rant and Rave, you carry on
It is time for you to be gone."
The wise man said as he pointed to them, his eyes serious with anger.

The twins looked at each other, then back at the man. They both growled as they started to wisp away, their Darkness going back to the clouds.
The man sighed and turned, slowly walking out of the broken home. His long blue robe followed him as he held out his arms, reaching for the sky. In a motion of swifting away, the Darkness slowly parted and disbursed.

The ocean because it's normal aquamarine color, the tropical sun shining down once more.
The ice melted quickly and time came back to the world.

The sand shifted under the man's shoes as he walked to the shore, seeing the sand soaked in blood as the two lovers laid in the shallow water together.
The man's eyes closed, shaking his head.
"This was never suppose to happen..."
He leaned down to both, placing one hand on each as a warm glow surrounded them, healing their wounds.

He didn't want them to look so gruesome for their funeral.


Axel's heart sunk as he heard his husband seem to seal the truth.
Sora and Riku... were gone.
How was that possible? They saw them two days ago... alive and well... laughing and dancing... holding Tensai and....
His green eyes looked down, tears slowly running down his tattoos.

After all those two had been through... what had put them to their end?
Someone or something must of killed them at the same time......

He snapped out of it when he heard the loud noise on the wall, watching the pendant drop to the floor. It shined though and reappeared in Roxas's hand... just like a keyblade.
He was the new..... master?
The new Keyblade Master?

There goes their cozy little life...

The red head wiped his tears away and slowly walked over to the large bed, sitting down next to his husband. He wrapped his arms around the blonde, pulling him close.
The realization of Sora and Riku still didn't seem real to him... it would hit later.
"Roxas.... do you want some ice cream....?"


The bullets stopped but the blood didn't.
The blonde slowly fell to his side, holding the child close to his chest.
His breathing was in labor as his own blood soaked his blonde hair and the child in his arms... but... they were both still alive.

The girl under the bed blinked as times came back, looking around. Her hole floor was shot up and...
"Venny!" She suddenly crawled out and rushed to the fallen man, kneeling down and holding her hair. "Venny!!"



"AAAAAAAAAAH!!"
A blonde shot up from a bed, sweat running down his body as his wet hair ran over his shoulders.
His blue eyes were wide, looking over the spare room. The sound of computers whirling surrounded him.

Was.... was it all just a dream...?
He looked down, seeing bandages around his naked torso... a pain in his back. His arms was bandaged up too and under the covers, his legs were well done.
A hole in the place where his heart was was still apparent.

No.... no..... NOOOOOOOO!

The blonde reached up and gripping his hair, tears falling down his face as he cried. No.... Soran..... Riku.....
"Noooooooo....." He whimpered but suddenly stopped. He was missing something...
Tensai....

"TENSAI!?"
The door suddenly opened, a familiar woman walking inside. "Ven...?" Aerith asked as her face seemed pale from sadness.
"T-tensai....?"
"He's fine.... he's in his crib and---"
"Bring him to me!"
The woman's eyes widened as she heard the demand and only nodded, quickly leaving the room.

A few minutes later, she came back with a child on her hip. Slowly she walked over and Ven reached out, taking the black haired boy. He pulled him close to his chest, wrapping his arms safely around him. He pressed his face into the black hair as tears started to fall from his eyes once more.

[Reno]

The boy moved aside some of the boards and sat up, copletely uharmed, and slowly glanced at his sister as she started to speak. He grinned wickedly as he took his strand started to eat - but there meal became quickly interuppeted.

The boy's eyes glowered down at the man who appeared, not liking the look in his eyes. He could feel the power radiating off the old wizard - and both he and his sister agreed without words that it was time to go.

Do not worry
We'll be gone in a hurry
But mischeif will be done
We've only just begun!


Terra looked up at the half-destroyed staircase in horror and grit his teeth. He could hear Tensai crying - god please don't let him be hurt. The barking of a carbuncle and the cries of Namine also reached his ears.

The Atterian backed away, bracing his feet and then rushed forward and jumped effortlessly onto the top of what was left of the staircase.

Crack!

"Shit!" He snapped, jumping again to land on the second floor, glancing back to see another part of the staircase had fallen. He disregarded that fact for the moment - and turned, hurrying towards the room. Just as he was, he felt the wolf backing away suddenly, and the claws and fangs slowly receded.

He nearly froze in shock at the sight of the already half-gone room. The back half of it was just completely gone, opening it up to the outside world. The skies were blue again and the seas green. He looked down at all the blood covering the ground and nearly grew sick.

He walked in slowly, seeing both his lover and Tensai completely covered. Namine was shaking Ven and Invidia had wormed her way between them and was licking the toddler.

Terra slowly leaned down, placing a hand on Namine's shoulder. "Calm down Nam', Ven's gonna be just fine. I promise." He told her, not a doubt in his words.

He then reached down and carefully picked up Tensai. "Ten?"

The boy looked up sniffling. "Uncle Tewa?"

He sighed in relief. He was going to be fine. He couldn't help but hug the boy close as he looked down at his unconcious lover. "You did it Ven." He murmured softly. He glanced back though when he heard rapid feet and blond appeared.

"Tensai. Namine! We've got to.... oh holy shit."


Roxas pulled his hands away as he felt Axel's arms coming around him. He leaned into the other's warmth clutching onto his shirt. At the other's words he couldn't help but laugh humorlessly. "Y-Yeah lots... and some clothes." He whispered into the other's chest.

He was feeling better physically, but he was pretty sure his mentality was about to go downhill from here.


Terra shot up as he heard Ven's cry his eyes wide. He was rather disoriented because he had been asleep himself and he looked around the kitchen in confusion, then glanced down at what he had been laying on.

How did he manage to fall asleep on the kitchen table?

He groaned, placing his head in his hands as his headache made itself rather apparent. The last 48 hours had been a whirl of activity that he couldn't even begin to comprehend. He only saw flashes of the past few hours - as if everything had happened years ago and he was jsut remebering it now.

He recalled helping Tidus and his family out of their broken home - only to have Kairi cry out in horror and rush down the beach to where Sora and Riku lay. Not moments later a bare-footed Bryna rushed from the streets and down to the sand to find her son, and Catrina in her black nightgown not far behind. After that he could look no more at the heartbreaking scene.

He wasn't sure how he ended back up on the ship - or what happened to the two's body - or how he managed to get the crib out of Sora and Riku's broken home... He wasn't sure if it was suddenly decided that he would take Tensai with him, or if he just left and didn't say a word.

He did remember calling Aerith on the communicator, shakily asking if she'd hurry up and be ready to be picked up because Ven was hurt and Tensai was there - and of course she came to the ship immediately afterwards.

He remmebered answering his cell phone and Ven's for the past few hours, getting calls from all around - Aqua, Seifer, Axel, Sirocco and Bryna. He didn't remember what was said or how he answered or what he said he was going to do or what he refused to do.

But since only he, Ven, Tensai and Aerith were on the ship still, he must have told the other Chasers to stay on their fucking vacation and leave him the hell alone because he couldn't deal with their fucking whining.

He knew he had to go and get them soon however... they had to be briefed on their new enemies and what happened to Sora and Riku...

He must have reassured Bryna and Sirocco that Tensai was fine, that he was with them - as far as bringing him back well... he must of said no because he still hadn't gone back, or put it off saying he'd do it later and didn't they have a funeral to plan god damn it?!

He couldn't keep Tensai away from them forever though...

As for Axel well... he learned Rxoas was the new keyblade master - but that was about all he remembered of that fucking conversation.

He hardly remembered worrying about Ven and visiting the blonde every once and awhile to watch him rest; or taking care of Tensai when he needed to eat or couldn't find the potty - though he did recall he freaked out a bit when Tensai started to ask for his fathers and he could only tell the boy they weren't right then.

He didn't know he had been struggling to sleep or that he didn;t have the appettite to eat and he just didn't understand why his heart so much or why whenever he dreamt he could almost pretend when he woke up things wouldn't be as fucked up as they had become.

But he wasn't in denial. He knew Sora and Riku were gone - and this time they weren't coming back. It was a hard blow to take - even though loss was familar to him. And if it was bad for him - he kenw the pain was going to increase tenfold. Because Ven was not going to take the loss of his twin well at all. Losing family... was hard. He oughta know.

Just as that familar ache in his heart started to grow worse, he got off the table and slowly walked to the thershold of the kitchen just in time to catch Aerith walking back into Ven's room, a child in her arms. He blinked tiredly, and sighed a bit before slowly started to walk towards the room they had stationed Ven in to recover, and slid the door open.

"Uncle Wenny?" Tensai asked confused, his fingers having curled into the other's shirt as he was held, not understanding why he was crying. It made him pout, and he looked like he was going to cry himself.

Suddenly footsteps he already easily discerned as Terra's came over and the bed shifted and dipped a little as the taller sat down. There was not a place that wasn't damaged or hurting that Terra could touch, but regardless he wrapped an arm around Ven's waist and another across the arms around Tensai, bringing them close to him. He dotted a small kiss atop the weeping blonde's head, murmuring his name softly.

The boy thought it was all very interesting how familar to seen was to... maybe his daddy Riku taking care of daddy Sora when he cried. He still didn't know where they had gone or why they weren't back yet - but he could wait. They loved him, they always said so - they'd definitely come back right?

Axel nodded, slowly getting up and leaving the room. He walked down the stairs and headed for the kitchen, opening the door for boxes to fall out. He sighed softly but picked them up, placing them in NEATLY so that they wouldn't fall out again. He opened a box and pulled out four ice creams. He went back upstairs and looked into Roxel's room.
"You still awake?"
"........yea....."
"Come on out and with me."
The little boy poked his head out and looked at Xio, slowly climbing out of bed and walking over to Axel.

The two walked into the master bedroom and Axel laid down the ice cream on the bed as he helped Roxel up. He walked to the dresser and pulled out Roxas's silky black robe that he had bought him one Christmas.
He walked over, climbing into bed and wrapping it around the blonde's shoulders.
Roxel sat between them, looking at Roxas curiously. "Is daddy ok?"

Axel just smiled, unwrapping three of the four and handing one to Roxas, one to Roxel and one for himself.
Xio padded in, looking at Roxas to see he was ok... washed out... but ok. He slowly jumped up on the bed and laid down at the end.


Aerith watched as Terra came in and sat down, embracing both Ven AND Tensai. She smiled softly as she slowly left the room and closed the door.

Ven felt comfort as Terra sat down, bringing them both close. Ven's protective arms continued to wrap around the child as he buried his face into his lover's neck.
No.... no, they were all gone. That smile... that love...gone.
By.... by two children? No.... two monsters.
And Tensai... how do you tell a child what happened... that... his fathers aren't coming back...

He thought he'd never have to explain this to him.
Maybe... maybe Aerith.... no....

What worried him more... was those two. If they could kill his brother and lover so easily... no one could stand a chance. Terra and Aqua almost died while up against Xehanort... and he wasn't strong enough to defeat Sora...

And.... when was this all going to end...?


A strawberry blonde robbed an old woman's back softly.
Carina had not stopped crying...
She had lost her husband so many years ago... and now her son. There was no one left except Tensai... and she was too old to take care of him the way he would need to be taken care of.

Kairi sat down at the deck, looking out at the ocean as she heard some men behind her, along with Tidus, working on tearing down the two house.
There was no way they could be restored again.

As for the paopu... they died like Riku. All the fruits were lost to the ocean... and the Darkness had sucked in all their majick.

Sirocco stood in the doorway of the shop, watching craftsmen working on two coffins. He should of been nailed into a coffin before his son. He didn't say a word since that day... he knew deep down inside that... this had to be his fault...
He looked up at the hill over the mainland, seeing a woman and carbuncle in the cemetery. She wanted to bury Sora and Riku next to Ven's stone.
