Reno...? Why would he...? Tseng nodded as he rushed over, looking into the burning room. Luckily, it wasn't a room that was used too often. The man covered his mouth as he moved into the burning room, his eyes moving franticly. Then he saw it, the redhead on the ground. He was laying on his back, panting as he looked up at the ceiling.

"Reno! RENO!?" Tseng moved through the fire as he got close to the Turk and knelt down.

Green eyes looked painful as he panted. Yes, the fire had come from him... and he didn't need materia to make it. It just... happened. His body was aching as he whimpered slightly.
"Roxas..."
Tseng frowned as he reached down to pull the fellow member up but was shocked as he was pushed away... and with much force.

Reno shifted and looked away, panting more. "Roxas...."


Ven's eyes darkened as he watched the woman and man in the wheelchair. Obviously... this fire was made by the redhead. They needed to do something... their way. He closed his eyes as he held his hands out, hearing a gun cock at him.

Suddenly, a strong gust of wind blew through to the window, making it shatter behind the man and woman. Pieces of glass went flying all over the room and Aero Maxim appeared in his hand. "Roxas! Go get Axel!"


Aerith frowned as she read the status too. "Poor thing..." She said softly as she flipped the page, looking through. He was the one who had the most experiments. Six to be exact.

Conclusion: Very hungry.
Instead of bonding with Heartless, test subject devoured Heartless violently, soaking up their Darkness.

Aerith covered her mouth and shook her head.

[Reno]

Rude stayed back, not knowing if he should have followed or not. The flames sparked up even more violent then before and even if he wanted to follow... it would have been impossible.


The minute the wind picked up and the glass shattered, it seemed to knock Elena off balance. Sora felt Ultima appear and he shot forward quickly. He slashed upwards and Elena yelped - a clang of metal on metal hitting the air. The gun went flying, clattering loudly as it fell close to the wall. "Sorry." the brunette mumbled before kicking the turk back so that she spiraled out onto the ground.

"Got it!" Roxas cried as he turned and ran from the room. He reached down, unclipping Bond of Flames from his belt and the keyblade formed in his hand.

Rufus meanwhile tensed, reaching down and grabbing his shotgun. He rasied it, aiming it towards the closest - who happened to be Sora as this point.


Roxas rushed down the halls, his heart leading him back to Axel. He paused a bit, seeing the flames that covered the door... Then glanced at the bald Turk who could no longer make a move inside.

"It'll protect you... as long as I love you."

Roxas had no fear. He walked inside the flames, and Bond reacted instantly. It was like... they parted for him. He walked through the room were a circle of fire was, and in that circle was the black-haired Turk... and Axel.

He walked over, stepping around Tseng and knelt down by the turk's side. He reached out, placing a comforting hand over Reno's heart. "Axel... Axel calm down I'm here."


Yuffie's eyes blinked awya tears as she read the words on the page. By the time she had gotten to project 3, she gasped. But there were three more left...

Setup: Test energy. Present controlled amounts of magical energy to test subject and see reaction.

Conclusion: Very energentic.
Isn't harmed by magical energy, bonds with instead, learns the powers of them, and uses them back in return.

Conclusion: Change = 35% darkness.
It takes a minimal amount of darkness in the herat to cause the change to occur.

Setup: Test power. Present test subject on controlled battlefield with controlled opponents and see reaction.

Conclusion: Very powerful.
Drains energy from opponents and uses it against them. High magical energy and resistent to magical attacks. Strong phsyical prowess and appears to be strongest with uses of land and dark magic.

Test subject has gone into shock.
Symptoms: Gold eyes, fangs, claws, hunger, convulsions, seizures, attacks without provocation, beast-like qualities in human form
Conclusion: Chain down.
Subject will be transferred back into cage once a calmer nature has been receieved and experiments will be put on hold until it is safe to continue.

The edge of a keyblade was pressed against the neck of Rufus. Aquamarine eyes glared down at the man. "Don't you dare..."

Ven slowly stepped in front of Sora and stared down at the man in the wheel chair. "Now listen... there is a part of Reno that we want... and I'm sure you want to keep him around too. We can fuse the person we want out of Reno and still keep the Reno you know alive. But... we needed someone to split half their soul with Reno... do you know if he has a lover that would be willing to do this... or anyone at all?"


Tseng started to cough, not able to keep the smoke from his lungs. He quickly ran away so he could breath and get away from the wild fire. He busted out into the hall and growled, standing next to Rude. "Damnit..."


Reno shook as he felt the hand on top his heart. Exotic eyes looked up at the big blue ones, his face clearing up a bit from the pain. The red tattoos on his cheek bones started to fade and black spiked ones started to appear under his eyes.
"Roxas....? Where am I...?"


Aerith read the last experiment and shook her head, slowly closing the file. It must of been so... painful. How could someone do such a thing... and she thought Hojo was bad.... Ansem was no better when he was younger it seemed... He would of said he was young and stupid... and that he did stop the experiments.

She stood and sighed. "Well... they're safe now for the most part..." What she worried about... was Ventus. It claimed... that he was dead. Was he.... really dead?

[Reno]

Rufus eyes narrowed but he slowly lowered the gun. He looked up at the two.

Sora kept his keyblade pointed at Elena who, for the most part, didn't move, afraid of risking now only her life... but her boss' as well.

The blonde scoffed, leaning back. "This is all rather insane you understand? I don't understand what demands you truly want, but this crazy story isn't enough to sway me."


Rude looked at his boss, hearing the coughing of the other. "Okay?" he asked conceredly.


Roxas smiled a bit. "you're on a planet called Midgar, and apparently you're trying to burn down the leader's building." he joked. He reached under the other's body, lifting him up carefully, and brought him into a hug, burying his head into the other's shoulder. "you had me so worried Axel..."


Yuffie frowned a bit, but nodded. She didn't understand either how anyone could do anything like that to another person but... the three Chasers had gone out of it intact.

"you think maybe... there were any lasting effects though?" she asked oncernedly, thinking about the three. How could they be SURE everything was alright?

Riku's eyes glared at the blonde more as he could see some smoke coming down the hallway.

"Why do you think he was gone for twenty years and suddenly came back? Because a Heartless was killed her... that held his heart that it had captured. We had a man named Axel back at home... red hair, exotic green eyes and face tattoos. He disappeared the same time Reno appeared... you can't tell me that that isn't a bit suspicious." Ventus stopped a bit as he growled down at the stubborn man.

He looked away then frowned. "Or... we could just take Reno... and force him to live like Axel... and he'll never be able to return again."


Axel blinked slightly as he was pulled into a loving hug. Lanky arms wrapped around the blonde. Every now and then, his fingers would clenched onto the boy's clothes, Reno trying to grasp back his mind. Now... he knew what it felt like to be trapped in his Somebody like Roxas was once ago... only the problem now was that his Somebody didn't know he had a Nobody... or understood it.

"I want to go home..."


Aerith looked at her friend and bit her lip. Concerned eyes lowered but she shook her head. "I suppose there's no way to find out... but... I'm worried for them. You said a boy got Mako poisoning right...? Well... that means that they must of been on Midgar... I hope they're ok..."

[Reno]

"yo, boss!" Reno called, walking into the office like he owned the place - vice-president of ShinRa.
Rufus rasied his eyes curiously from the mounds of paperwork he had. He rasied an eyebrow. "so you're the new turk Tseng told me about."
"Yep that me. Reno's the name, yo!" the energentic red-head crowed, reaching a hand out in greeting. No one else had had the gull to do that.
rufus chuckled lightly, liking the other already and reached a hand out, shaking the others. "Try not to act so much like you're on an acid trip on the job, okay?"
"Can do!"


"Boss you work to hard. And you're just a kid." Reno said.
"You know Reno, most of my subordinates know what lines NOT to cross." Rufus grumbled, resting on his arms was his his head on his desk, eye half-closed. Paperwork was spread all around him. "And I'm twenty-one. Far from a kid."
The red-head just chuckled, walking over. "Come on boss, it's time for you to go to bed. Your dad's working you to death."
The blonde grumbled, but willingly got to his feet, allowing the younger one to lead him back to his room.


Rufus stood out on the balcony. "The train ride is tommorrow, correct?"
"Yep." Reno said, standing to the side, watching the other.
"I have a bad feeling about it."
The red-head blinked but walked over, arms hesitantly wrapping around the other. "Yo, thats why we Turks are here. We're here to protect you boss."
Rufus glanced back, smirking. "You know I could fire you for unhealthy conduct."
"You wouldn't."
"No... no I wouldn't. Cause then I'd have to fire myself for sexual harassment."
The other laughed comfortably behind him, and it put the blonde slightly at ease.

The next day... Reno would die.

Blue eyes narrowed, a spark of fury in those eyes and Rufus was suddenly more emotion them they had expected from the calm and controlled leader. "Don't you touch him." he snapped. "I don't know what nonsense you all are prattling but Reno would never willingly go with the likes of you and your kind." He'd just gotten the red-head back... he wasn;t ready to lose him again.

Sora glanced at Rufus, seeing a look in the other's eyes he only recognized all too well, then looked back at Elena, but his voice was directed to the blonde man. He really cared about the red-head didn't he? Sora grit his teeth. "Come on if you don't believe us then why don't we SHOW you. Ven, Riku lets lead them to Axel."


Roxas held him comfortingly, knowing how much pain the other was feeling. that fight for control, that wish for "I know..." He mumbled. "but you and your somebody... you guys have to do what me and Sora did... and... I don't know who's going to split a soul for him." He looked around at the fire. "come on lets get out of here."


Yuffie chuckled a bit. "i'm sure they are. They apparently don;t know how to give up, remember?"

Ven blinked as he saw the sudden change in the leader. He frowned though as he saw Riku pulled away and go behind the man, taking the handles to the wheel chair. He pulled him away from the desk and the down toward the door.

The fires around them settled as Roxas helped the redhead up. Only the sound of crackling papers could be heard as Roxas helped the other get out of the room.
The moment they broke into the hallway, Tseng pulled his gun up to Roxas's head... but the blonde didn't stop as he leaned Reno against the wall.

"Ge--" The black haired man stopped as he saw something in the corner of his eye. He looked down the hallway to see the silverette wheeling Rufus down the hallways towards them, the other blonde and brunette behind them and Elena not too far behind.
"Wha... what's going on?" The Turk leader called as Rufus got close enough.

[Reno]

"Hey!" Rufus snapped in protest as he was taken from his office. His eyes narrowed even more angry then before.

Sora reached up, helping Elena to her feet before shoving her forward forcing her to walk after them. Ven came up beside him and together they took the rear of the operation.

Elena's fingers clenched hatefully. If only she could use her granades,... unfortunetly she hadn;t been caryring them anyways. It wasn't exactly brillant to fire off granades in a building like this.


Rude tensed seeing the blonde coming out of the flames with... Reno in his arms.

Roxas glared at Tseng with the gun and scoffed, but didn't seem to care either way. He leaned Axel up against the wall, reaching up and brushing his hand through some some of the red spikes. "Axel..."

"I suppose we're being held captive Tseng, what do you think?" rufus sarcastically snipped, before his eyes trailed over to the struggling red-head. "....Reno?" he called nervously. He'd never seen him act that way before... and had his tattoos changed?!

Tseng looked away ashamed as Rufus snipped at him. What a shameful position... now they were the ones captive. It was very unlikely for the Turks to be outdone... but it seemed like these people from another world had the upper hand now. His brown eyes moved to Elena, making sure she was ok before looking over at Reno. Right in front of his eyes... he suddenly saw tattoos fade in and out on his face. Two black under his eyes and two red on his cheek bones.

What the hell was going on...?


Axel leaned on the wall, his eyes becoming soft as he felt the gentle hands of the blonde... but when Rufus called his name, the red tattoos grew stronger and the redhead pulled away from Roxas. He stumbled a bit as he moved against the wall to Rufus. "Yo..." He suddenly fell to his knees, his long red hair falling over his shoulder.
His green eyes looked up through red hair, looking at Rufus in the wheelchair. "You ok boss?"

He looked back at Rude and smiled faintly, looking as if he'd pass out. "Yo partner.... help me up huh...? I think... I think I need a drink..."

Ven growled as he walked passed the leader and next to the redhead. He gripped the back of his shirt and pulled him up, feeling a gun point at him. "You're not going anywhere... Axel"
The redhead swayed as he was pulled out but suddenly his body started to shake and screamed. His waist grew tighter as his spiky hair atop his head grew longer. The rattail slowly started to shorten and form into more spikes as the tattoos on his face started to grow back to the black. He sprouted a foot or two... and in the matter of moments, Reno no longer stood in front of them... but Axel did.

Tseng's mouth gapped as he looked at the change. This... this was more powerful than Jenova. His hand started to shake as his finger started to pull on the trigger of his gun.

[Reno]

Elena looked at Tseng, ashamed of herself. she hadn't been able to protect Rufus... not at all. These people had pwoers she was used to... and ways of fighting that topped even Sephiroth's powers.

Rude looked at Rufus, bowing his head as well. They were Turks... how could they let this happen so easily? They were supposed to protect him down to the very inch of their life.


"I'm better then you seem to be." Rufus mumbled sarcastically, seeing the red-heads unsure steps. Worry lined his face. "Reno...?"

Rude merely tiled his head, that was when Ven approached and everyone tensed before the red-head screamed. His figners twitched and his eyes widened as the other... changed? He reached up, pulling off his glasses but yes it wasn;t a trick of the light. Reno wasn't Reno anymore.

Elena put her hands over her mouth, hiding her scream of terror, tears running down her face as Reno just... changed in front of them.

"Reno!" Rufus tensed as the other cried out, and suddenly he didn't care about his 'appearence'. He jumped from the wheelchair to everyone's surprise, and he reached out, gripping the red-head. He shook him furiously, no longer able to see the red-head. "what trickery is this?! Bring him back!" Don;t tell him... that Reno was never here... don;t tell him that the Reno he had been seeing was all an illusion!

Roxas grit his teeth, but what concerned him was the sound of the click. Tseng's gun. "Magnet!" The gun was yanked from Tseng's hand and coiled in a little swirling mass of blackness - the magnet spell - before Roxas struck out with Bond and the gun went flying back into the room that was still aflame.

Riku blinked too, having a hard time seeing the change. He had never seen Roxas fight over control of Sora's image... so he didn't even know it was possible until now. What startled him even more was the fact that the wheelchair stricken man jumped out and ran to Axel. He knew things couldn't be taken for granted... but this was a bit shocking.

Axel blinked as he was suddenly shaken, making his long body wobble back and forth. "Hey hey!" The redhead pulled away from Rufus and looked down at him slightly. He slowly looked around the room... not understanding what was going on. Something inside of him was fighting to be set free.

He looked behind him slightly, his green eyes widening as he saw another blonde. "Roxas...!" He was about to run to the man but Ven stopped him in his tracks and pulled him back.
Blue eyes looked at the leader, a hard look over his features. "Now do you believe us? This is the man Reno turned into twenty years ago... he has a life of his own... and inside of him... Reno dowels."

He looked up at Axel and frowned. "Now... we can take Axel like this... or someone here... can offer half their soul to keep the Reno you once knew... but whatever you decided, we're taking Axel with us."

[Reno]

Roxas looked back at the red-head, smiling comfortingly. It was going to be okay.

Rufus stared up at the taller man, frowning deeply, unable to believe his eyes. there was no way... His eyes narrowed on Ven as the other made the demand. He wanted to take Reno away... If... there was even a Reno. "Your telling me Reno can come back if someone shares a soul with him... and how do I know your not lying?"

"We're not trying to trick you." Sora murmured softly. "We just want to bring Axel back home... and if possible allow Reno to have his life back too." He looked at Rufus quietly. You love him don't you...? He thought. "He's still there... Reno is. Can't you see him? Behind Axel's eyes he's in there."

Rufus eyes narrowed but slowly rasied his eyes to meet Axel's. Behind those eyes he didn't understand any longer... He could see the spunky, pony-tailed turk he'd grown to known and love...

"...Rufus?" An arm was wrapped securely around his waist, the blonde's back meeting a warm chest.
"Mmmhmmm?" The blonde murmured.
"you think we'll... always be able to do this?"
"What kind of question is that?" Rufus turned around suddenly, blue eyes meeting glowing green. "Since when did you care about the rules of society and life?"
Reno grinned and laughed. "You got a point there! I knew there was a reason I stayed around!"
"Because your dumb as a stick and couldn't live through life without my brillance?"
"Yo!"
The blonde chuckled deeply, tugging lightly on red strands until their lips met. "go to bed. We have a long trip ahead of us."
"Right-o Boss~"

An hour later, Rufus watched the red-head while he slept. He ran his fingers down the other's cheek, smiling sadly. "It's too bad... your too young to know what love is Reno." He settled down closer to the other, shutting his eyes. What he didn't know... was this would be the last night he would get to lay with the other.

"I'll do it." the president whispered quietly.

"Boss?!" Rude cried.

"what!" Elena yelped. "Sir you can't."

Rufus rasied a hand, silencing their protests immediately.

Tseng blinked as he watched, but his brown eyes widened as he heard Rufus. "Wha---" He was cut off by Rufus's action. What.... what was he thinking. His eyes darkened as he watched one of the blonde nod at the brunette. "NO! Stop!" Tseng was about to protest when he felt a strong hand on is shoulder stop him.

Sora was a keyblade master... and he was sure he would be careful enough to split Rufus's soul in half to give to Reno. He really didn't want to cart these lunatics around in his airship all the way back to Disney Castle. Besides... he was sure the King wouldn't be happy to know that they were doing this again. It was one thing since it was Riku and Sora... but would he be as accepting for Roxas and Axel?

A sudden panel formed under Axel and the redhead blinked. "Whoa!" A glow wrapped around him and slowly started to wrap around Rufus.

Riku smiled slightly as he watched. He remembered this all quite well...

The glowing light attracted a heart that was hidden deep inside of Kingdom Hearts. One that knew it would never have a home... but the glowing warmth brought it out... and it headed away from the kingdom. It flew through space, following the glow. The crystal fell down into a polluted world but didn't stop to smell the disgusting air. It finally had a Nobody to join with.

Axel looked up, seeing something coming from the roof. He smiled slightly, lifting an arm up and grasped the crystal. He pulled it down and looked at it. Another heart... one for him to have... and keep. He pressed it on his chest... and slowly it sunk in. Suddenly he leaned over. "Ah....AHN!!" He groaned as he stumbled. Another image flickered around him as spirit disconnected with the original heart.

Reno appeared again, but he was pale and collapsed onto his knees as Axel backed away from the glowing circle. He fumbled back to Roxas and leaned on the wall. His own body fading in and out as it started to connect with the new heart.

[Reno]

Sora smiled comfortingly, taking Ven's cue to walk forward and as he stepped forward Ultima pointed at the two. the symbol appeared under Axel and Rufus - the same one he rememebred appearing under ihm and Riku all those years ago. It was half the symbol of the heartless - but broke off at where the heart was meant to end at the point, instead appeared like the nobody symbol.

Sora shut his eyes, concentrating and trying to connect with Kingdom Hearts, to urge a heart that was no longer needed forth.

"Boss!" Elena cried, seeing the energy wrapped around the blonde president. "Wait a minute!" she called stepping forward, but one look from riku had her sldiing to a halt.

Rude stared quietly, the glow making his eyes squint and he placed his glasses back over his eyes.

Rufus looked down at himself, slightly panicked as the glowing wrapped around him, seeping into his skin. His fingers twitched but he looked up up at a quiet murmur of the red-head. He blinkledseeing the glowing object shaped like a... a heart...

He was beginning to believe just how little of a story this really was. The heart entered Axel. And then the other stumbled.

Sora quietly watched as Axel stumbled backwards, his form splitting with Reno's, reminding him oddly of how tafyf split from itself - stretching away from each other as far as they could before finally snapping apart. Axel stumbled out of the ring that had been created and Roxas was by his side in an instant, the blonde arms coming up and around the other, trying to help him connect back to realty. "Axel!"

Meanwhile, Rufus stumbled forward, falling to the red-heads side, reaching out to grab onto his shoulder. "Reno!" The shoulders were trembling under his fingers.

"Now Sora!" The brunette heard someone cry and he nodded, lifting his keyblade. Before anyone could rasie protest, before anyone could stop this seemingly mad scene... the light burst forth the tip of Ultima, smashing into the blonde.

Rufus' eyes widened and he opened his mouth soundlessly crying out as his soul was ripped out of him. He shivered his own blue eyes dimming, coldness seeping down his whole body... but the master was quicker than Mickey had been.

Sora let Ultima spin on his fingers before making a cutting motion, the blue energy of a soul snapping in too. the pieces fell, half findining home back in it's original owner, the other half curling and sinking into Reno like a second skin.

Warmth slowly wrapped around the blonde and red-head, and thn Rufus slumped forward a bit, blinking dazedly as half of his soul came back to him.

Riku watched as the two slumped down together. "Now Sora!" He could remember this was when Mickey had done it... since Sora was still lacking his spirit at the time.

He watched Sora easily cut the light that came from Rufus in half. It seemed to be more quicker that Mickey. Mickey might of been the King... but Sora was a master.

Axel's eyes blinked as he heard his name and shook his head. He looked down at Roxas and smiled. "Rox...?" A large smile ran over his face but before he could do much, the scene not so far away caught his eye.

A warming light wrapped around the other redhead, making his skin grow color again.
When the light stopped, everyone watched the two as they shook. Slowly, red spikes shifted as green eyes looked up, seeing a familiar blonde close to him. "Yo..." He smiled the best he could. His body was still drained, now only having half a soul... that wasn't even his.

He shifted more as he pushed himself off and then... his arms wrapped around the blonde's neck.
Tseng blinked as he saw.... Reno hugging Rufus? Was he out of his mind!?

Ven shifted on his feet as he watched. So... his brother and brother-in-law had half a soul... and his other brother's lover now had half a soul... so next was it Terra and Ven's turn? He doubted it. Terra and himself had been injected with Darkness... and they didn't turn into a Heartless... he doubted they would ever have problems with their spirit... but as for their hearts... he knew that him and Terra shared the same one...

Of course... he never told anyone what the phoenix had told him that night... not even Terra.

When things were said and done, Rufus was returned to his wheelchair thanks to Rude. He actually needed it now. As for Reno, Rude helped him stand as well.
Oddly enough, the redhead insisted that they took the keyblade in Rufus's office. It was the least they could do to thank the group for allowing them to have a chance... they could of just taken Reno and forced him down.

The keyblade was taken by Ven and it was added to the collection of keyblades back in their airship.
Axel too had a hard time walking... but Roxas had no problem helping his lover out. The pyro was kinda of excited though... now HE had a brother! But since Reno lived so far away... he knew they wouldn't be as close as Sora and Roxas.

There was still one question on everyone's mind though...

"You're name is Reno right? So where did Xemnas get Axel from?" Sora had asked the Turk. Green eyes narrowed as he thought. Then he remembered the scene at the bar with the drink. "Ale? It's my favorite drink, yo!"

Everyone just blinked and looked at Axel. He was named after his Somebody's favorite alcohol? No wonder Axel was loopy!

Ventus made a portal and the group went on their way. Before Axel and Roxas stepped through, the pyro looked back, seeing the blonde in the wheelchair, three Turks standing proud around him and a redhead who softly waved them off.

A yip filled the airship along with children giggles. The moomba dashed through the hallway to the pilot lounge when the five arrived back.
"XIO!" A happy redhead cried as he leaned down, pulling up the rather large fire lion and cradling him. "Did you take care of my Roxy while I was gone!?" The moomba yipped and licked his master happily. "What a good boy!" He smiled then looked down at Roxas. He leaned down, rubbing his nose gently against his lover and planted the sweetest kiss on his lips.


A blonde rested in his large chair, his feet kicked up on his keyboard. What a day... they needed a vacation. They all did... Everything was back to normal and---
"Venny?"
He blinked as he looked over, seeing Gunnar at the door way. "Hey kiddo... what's up?"
"While you were gone to get uncle Axel... me, Luci and daddy found a planet to take a break on!"

Ven frowned and sat up. "Oh yea?"
"Yea!" The boy clapped and nodded. "It's close to Midgar and is called... Cos...de.... sul?" He pouted how to say the name of it. "But daddy said it looked like a vacation world! Can we go! Can we!? It has a big beach and it's nice and sunny!"
"I'm sure uncle Roxas, uncle Axel, uncle Sora and uncle Riku all want to get home Gunnar."
"NO! They said they wanted a day away in the sun! We all do!"

Ven smiled and nodded. "It would be nice to kick back for the day. Even if Sora and Riku lived on a tropical world... another one would be more like a vacation to them... not just their back yard.
"Go ask Terra... he's the boss around here remember."
"Ok!" The boy quickly turned and rushed down the hallway to the room where the wind and land keyblader slept.
