"i know Sephiroth must have told you his story, of how he tried to destroy the world with black materia, and aeris summoned holy to stop it." she walked around the room, Sephiroth watching her pace. "Holy is a wonderful and confounding materia. not only does it save, it destroys. if it wants something dead, it kills it." she paused, frowning. "back then, Sephiroth's power alone could stop holy, but cloud killed him and Sephiroth was sent to hell." she bit her tounge. "when holy was still surronding him... right in the center of where it was forming."
She turned to face them an sighed. "back then it was balanced. you can only have too much of one thing. holy is pure, the black materia is... unpure, for lack of a better term... and sephiroth had tasted both. but... Aeris recalled holy again, and when it hit Sephiroth it affected him immediatly, and not only just him, a few people where attacked by it, things holy felt where irrelevent or dangerous to life. Raichu for example was hit pretty hard with it too, and not in a good way. Seph;s not getting better, because the whole area around us is based on holy's magic." she shut her eyes and sighed. "it seeped into his magic circulatory system first, destroing it and weakening his body. usally, it would stop there and just leave sephiroth with no way to use limit breaks or magic any longer, permenantly. But thats where the mako comes in. mako bonds to the cells in the body, and enhances strength, speed, intelligence and magical performance. holy transfered from the mako to his cells... and is breaking them all apart very, very slowly."
She took a breath, looking more nervous. "i've studied for decades to find a way to unbound mako from the cells, but theres no possible way to do it without destroying the subject in question. with his cells dying, the mako can;t help him any longer. its contaminating his blood, causing the freezing and heating spells, destroying the brain cells, making him... well actually, he isn;t passing out i actually believe he;s having seizures... and pretty soon he won;t be able to eat. his skin'll start to become unbound from his body and well from there its just a matter of days before he actually is destroied from the inside out. The area isn;t treating him like an angel, but he isn;t a devil or a human either. holy just wants him gone, and thats why this is happening." Rina fell silent.
Sephiroth sat up in his bed, staring at his sister in shock. He was dying... because of the mistake he had made all those years ago?!
